Shun Yu

Shun, the eighth grandson of Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor, the sixth grandson of Emperor Xuanyuan (颛顼 - poor cicada - Jingkang - Juwang - Qiaoniu - 瞽叟 - Chonghua), its title is Youyu, Yao surname, concubine, because Shun's eyes are double pupils, so the name Chonghua, the word Jun, Shun since the fifth ancestor on the poor cicada are civilians. Emperor Shun was persecuted by his father, stepmother and stepmother's son Xiang since he was a child, and after many hardships, he was still kind to each other, honored his parents, and loved his half-brother Xiang, so he won the praise of the people.

Shun was taught by a subordinate from the Human Sect, because Xuandu was already a teacher of the Human Emperor, so this time the affairs of the Human Emperor were personally presided over by Taishang Laojun.

He cultivated the fields in the mountains, and the locals no longer fought for the land boundary, they were very humble to each other, and the people were willing to live close to him, and in two or three years they gathered into a village. At that time, the leader of the tribal alliance, Di Yao, was very old and wanted to choose an heir, and the four mountains unanimously recommended Shun, so Yao married his two daughters, Empress E, to Shun, and let nine men serve around Shun to observe his virtue;

In the year of his accession to the throne, he went to various places to patrol and worship famous mountains, summoned the princes, and inspected the people's conditions; he also stipulated that he would patrol once in the next five years to inspect the achievements of the princes and clearly stipulate rewards and punishments.

Yu is the great-great-grandson of the Yellow Emperor and the grandson of Zhuan, and his mother is the daughter of the Xin family, named Nuzhi, also called Xuji. Yu migrated east with his father Kun when he was a child and came to the Central Plains. His father, Kun, was enshrined in Chong by Emperor Yao.

At that time, since the time of Di Yao, the water of the Yellow River in the Central Plains flooded, the people were miserable, when it was, Di Yao ordered the water to control the water, the Kun was ordered to control the flood, the water barrier method was used, that is, the embankment was set up on the bank, but the water was flooded higher and higher, this practice played a certain role in the nine years, but this is not a long-term solution, the water potential was originally larger, the higher the dam was raised, but in the end the flood was slightly better, the flood collapsed the embankment he reinforced, and finally did not calm the flood, so he was also killed by Shun.

Yao married his two daughters to Shun to examine his character and abilities. Shun not only made the two daughters get along with the whole family in harmony, but also showed talent and noble personality strength in all aspects, "Shun ploughed the mountains, the people of the mountains all gave way; fishing Lei Ze, Lei Ze and the people of Lei Ze all gave way", as long as it was the place where he worked, he would rise up the fashion of courtesy; Wherever he went, people were willing to follow, so "one year to live in Chengju (Ju is the village), two years to become a city, three years to Chengdu (four counties for the capital)". Yao was glad to learn of this, and gave him Shun a silk cloth (fine kudzu cloth cloth) and a harp, cattle and sheep, and built a barn for him.

Shun received these rewards, and the eyes of the blind and the elephant were very hot, and they wanted to kill Shun and seize the property. He asked Shun to repair the roof of the barn, but set fire to the barn below. Shun relied on two hats as wings, jumped from the house, and survived. Later, he asked Shun to dig a well, and the well was dug very deep, but he and the elephant filled it with earth, and wanted to block the well and bury Shun alive in it. Fortunately, Shun was alert in advance, dug a passage next to the wellbore, passed through the passage, and hid for a while. He and Xiang thought that the conspiracy had succeeded, and Xiang said that he had come up with the idea, and that he wanted a piano when he divided the things, and asked Yao's two daughters to be his wife, and to give the cattle and sheep and the barn to his parents. Xiang lived in Shun's house and played Shun's piano, Shun went to see him, Xiang was surprised, the boss was not happy, but his mouth said: "I think of Shun Zheng Yutao!" Shun did not take it to heart, as always, filial piety to parents, friends to brothers, and more sincere and cautious than before.

After Shun ascended the throne, he selected the virtuous and appointed, and used the "Eight Kai" and "Eight Yuan" to govern the civil affairs and exiled the "four murderers", the four murderers were the untalented son Hun Dun of the Dihong clan, the untalented son of the Shao Hao clan Qiqi, the untalented son of the Zhuan clan, and the untalented son of the Jinyun clan gluttonous. Legend has it that he toured the four directions, rectified the ritual system, and reduced the punishment. The people are required to "act virtuously and be far from others", "straight and gentle, generous and chestnut, rigid and not abusive, simple and not arrogant", filial piety to their parents, and harmony with their neighbors. Under its governance, politics and religion are great, guests from all directions are served, and Shungong is praised from all over the world.

Once, when Dayu was governing Huaishui, he met a monster named Wu Zhiqi, which was in Huaguo Mountain in Tongbai Mountain in southern Henan, and was born as a monkey. Later, he married the dragon girl and gave birth to three sons, all of whom were powerful demons. He is the god of water in the Huai Whirlpool, built a dragon palace in the Huai River, its power spreads to the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, often suffers from the Jianghuai, scourge the people, at this time Yu in order to govern the waterway, violated its territory, so he led more than 100,000 mountain spirits and water monsters in Huaiyuan to fight the king of Yu, and then was surrendered, imprisoned in the lower reaches of the Huai River under the turtle mountain.

So, originally Dayu was just a simple water control, but because Wu Zhiqi was caught, the escaped monsters passed a hundred, saying that Dayu wanted to kill them, so he moved mountains and rocks to block Dayu, Dayu couldn't, at this time Haotian above the heavenly court saw this scene, so he let Tai Bai Xing go to the nether with the mountain axe, handed over to Dayu, Dayu took this magic axe, all the way to open the mountain and change the water.

After 13 years of governance, it was finally succeeded in eliminating the scourge of flooding in the Central Plains. Because of the meritorious work of flood control, people in order to express their gratitude to Yu, respectfully called him "Dayu", that is, "great Yu".

Yu was appointed by Shun as Sikong, and succeeded to control the water, Yu immediately joined Yihe Houji, summoned the people to come to assist, he inspected the river, and reviewed the reasons for the failure of Kun to control the water. Yu summed up the lessons of his father's failure to control water, reformed the water control method to lead the river to control the water, and used the natural trend of water flowing to the lower places to dredge the nine rivers. During the period of water control, Yu crossed the mountains and mountains, crossed the river, took the measuring instruments and tools, measured the height of the terrain from west to east, set up a benchmark, and planned the waterway.

Soon after Yu and Tu Shan's daughter Jiao got married, she left her wife and embarked on the road of water control. Later, once he passed by the door of his house and heard the sound of his wife giving birth and his son croaking to the ground, but when he thought of the urgency of opening the mountain and diversion, he couldn't take care of going home, and went to the front line of water control. When he passed through his hometown for the third time, his son Qizheng was held in his mother's arms, he already knew how to call his father, waved his little hand, and greeted Yu, Yu just waved to his wife and children, indicating that he saw them, and still did not stop

He led the migrant workers to control the water, traveled all over the country, according to the benchmark, opened mountains and built embankments in times of depression to dredge waterways and divert floodwaters into the sea. In order to control the water, Yu tried his best, was not afraid of hard work, and did not dare to rest. He personally led the common people to eat and sleep in the open, passing through the door without entering, dredging the river in the muddy water all day long, and channeling the stagnant water from the flat land into the river and then into the ocean.

After the merit of Emperor Shun was complete, because it was the last of the three emperors and five emperors, so the merit given by God was a little more than Yao, and then Shun was taken to the Huoyun Cave, after knowing Xuanyuan and Fuxi, Shennong, he obeyed the arrangement of Fuxi Shennong, and there were no previous people.

Shun will give the throne to his son Shang Jun, but the world is not convinced, in the support of the princes, Yu throne, set in Yangcheng, the country name Xia, Yu divided Dan Zhu in Tang, divided the Shang are in Yu, change the calendar day called the summer calendar, to Jianyin of the month for the first month.

In the process of controlling the water, Yu traveled all over the world and knew the terrain, customs, and products of various places. Yu re-planned the world into nine states, and formulated the tribute of each state, Yu also stipulated: the area of 500 miles outside the emperor is called Dianfu, and then the outer 500 li is called Houfu, and then the outer 500 li is called Suifu, and then the outer 500 li is called to be served, and the outermost 500 li is called desert. Dian, Hou, and Sui are three servants, and they accept different items or bear different labor services. They are required to serve, not to be serviced, but only to be disciplined and obey the legal decrees. Deserted clothing is managed according to its customs, and the central court politics and religion are not enforced.
