Chapter 402: Transforming the Desert
Qin Di said again: "The Gathering Spirit Beads that I picked off, first bury a few near the Spring and Autumn Palace to change the surrounding environment, otherwise the mountain is bare and not suitable for human habitation." Pick a few more and bury them in Guloulan, we will hand over one billion yuan every year, and the early transformation can benefit as soon as possible. ”
"Sir, how are you going to develop Guloulan?"
"I'm going to open a spiritual field there and then transform the lake. ”
"There's also a potash plant in Lop Nur! If the lake goes down and they can't produce it, what will they do?"
"This is a problem, but it is only a temporary problem, after one or two jiazi, the national aura will be restored, where can you still use potash fertilizer? ”
So, Yan Xue entered the Kunlun Palace, and only came out after a long time, with a look of surprise on her face: "Sir, you are right, four of the five immortal spirit veins have been restored! I found more than fifty spirit beads, blue, red, yellow, white, black, and all five colors." ”
Qin Di said: "The red is the fire vein, the cyan is the wood vein, the black is the water vein, and the yellow is the earth vein, pick a few and bury them here." By next year, the Spring and Autumn Palace will be full of spring. ”
Yan Xue did as she said, carefully selected a place, and buried the spirit beads.
Then the two of them descended from Yuzhu Peak and ran towards the northwest.
They came to Lop Nur and found the director and chief engineer of the potash plant.
Although the factory director Qian Litong knew that the Qin family had contracted Lop Nur, he was a state cadre with his own responsibilities and was not afraid of the Qin family's power.
He entertained Qin Di and Yan Xue in the office, accompanied by Chief Engineer Luo Ping.
Qin Di said: "We came here today to discuss something with you. I want to transform Lop Nur and turn it into a freshwater lake, but I am afraid that it will damage your interests, so I will find a solution. ”
Qian Litong and Luo Ping both felt incredible and asked, "Mr. Qin, do you have a way to turn Lop Nur into a freshwater lake?"
Qin Di nodded, but did not give a detailed explanation.
Luo Ping said: "Mr. Qin, Lop Nur has long dried up! The lake you see now is the brine that our factory pumped out of the ground. Lop Nur is big and our brine lake is small. You say that Lop Nur will be turned into a freshwater lake, and this sentence is impossible. ”
Qin Di asked, "So, can you adjust the location of the brine lake?"
Luo Ping said: "Yes. There are two types of brine lakes, one that we have just pumped up and which is covered with plastic to prevent permeation, and the other is the refined wastewater, which also contains a lot of salt, but the potash has been pumped out and does not make sense to us. ”
Qin Di said lightly: "I'm afraid that after the transformation, it will affect the salt content of the underground brine." In other words, the concentration of potassium in the brine you pump out decreases, which increases the difficulty of refining. ”
"This ...... How is that possible? Unless you can bring in a lot of fresh water and seep it underground. ”
"I plan to develop Guloulan, first using the northwest corner of Lop Nur as a freshwater lake. But as time goes on, the freshwater lake may grow bigger and bigger, eventually taking over the whole of Lop Nur, and then there will be no room for your potash plant to survive. ”
"If this happens, we can't do anything about it, we need to report it to the national ......"
"Fresh water in Lop Nur means that the entire desert has vitality, which is more meaningful than the existence of your potash factory. ”
"What you said is lightweight, there is no potash factory, you can only import potash fertilizer from abroad, do you know how much it costs?"
"I'm just here to tell you to figure it out early. It will take time to renovate Lop Nur, so I will first build a dam and enclose a lake......"
The two sides parted unhappily and no agreement was reached.
Qian Litong and Luo Ping didn't take what Qin Di said to heart.
In their opinion, if they want to restore Lop Nur, the difficulty is very great, and I am afraid it is just a daydream of the rich people.
In the early days, Lop Nur received water from many rivers such as the Tarim River, the Peacock River, and the Cherchen River, so its waters were very broad. In the Han Dynasty, when Zhang Qian went to the Western Regions, he saw Lop Nur as a super lake with abundant water and lush water and grass for 300 miles. At this time, the lake covered the entire basin of the lake, including three depressions. Loulan, one of the 36 countries in the Western Regions, was once a famous trading station on the "Silk Road".
During the period of the two Jin Dynasty, its main water source, the Tarim River, was diverted to the south, and Lop Nur lost the water source of the Peacock River at the same time, the lake gradually dried up, the lake surface shrank, and a large area of the lake bottom was exposed, becoming a vast saline-alkali flat and swamp. The ancient city of Loulan was silently abandoned in the desert and left in ruins around 330 AD.
In Qianlong's "Imperial Map", which was completed in the 24th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty after surveying and mapping the Xinjiang region, it can be seen that the Tarim River has been diverted to the north, and its downstream confluence with the Kaidu River flows into Lop Nur through the Peacock River, and the water body of Lop Nur moves north again, returning to the old place near the ancient city of Loulan.
In the early years of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, when the governor of Xinjiang sent personnel to explore the ancient road, he found that the main body of Lop Nur, "Heini Haizi", had moved south to the center of Karakushun. This is due to the fact that the Tarim River and its tributaries are blocked by sand dunes and diverted south to flow into Lake Taitma, and the water body of Lop Nur has once again moved southward. There is no water near Guloulan again!
In 1921, a wealthy man in Shaya County built a dam on the Tarim River in Qianmaili Village, Yuli County, in order to build a grassland, which caused the river to divert and pour into the Peacock River, causing the Peacock River to break through the riverbank in Tiemenguan, return to the ancient riverbed, and re-inject into the Lop Nur Depression. In 1942, the lake had an area of 2,520 square kilometers.
In 1952, Yuli County built a dam in the middle reaches of the Tarim River, and the Tarim River was diverted to the south again, ending at Lake Taitma, and only the Peacock River still flows into Lop Nur. Later, due to the development of agricultural reclamation in the upper and middle reaches of the Peacock River, the water consumption increased greatly, which caused the water flow into the lake to decrease sharply, resulting in the gradual shrinkage of the Lop Nur Lake.
Around 1959, the Tarim River flooded many times, breaking through the Taitma Lake area, and once again a large lake with a large area and extremely shallow water appeared in the Luobu Depression. At that time, when the Xinjiang comprehensive expedition team of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was inspecting here, Lop Nur was still in a vast place, and the expedition members had arrived in the northern lake area by rubber boat.
After the 60s of the 20th century, several reservoirs were built in the lower reaches of the Tarim River, and six dams were built in the upper reaches of the Peacock River. The vast Lop Nur finally disappeared in the entire lake basin, and the Tarim River Daxi Haizi Reservoir "came to an end".
All in all, Lop Nur has not been without water, and if the state does a good job of overall planning, water conservation upstream, and removal of a series of dikes, water can still be injected into the lake. However, because of the arid climate in Xinjiang and the lack of water, it is difficult for Lop Nur to fully recover.
