08 Wannian Temple
It is said that in accordance with the agreement with Xie Yixiang, Xian Jingyue came to the "Receiving Nunnery" halfway up Mount Emei early in the morning, and planned to visit these temples and Taoist temples in Mount Emei one by one from the mountain to the bottom of the mountain.
After the battle of Huguang, Xian Jingyue had already lost all his martial arts, but now he only needs to restrain his murderous aura, and he looks like an ordinary person, and he thinks he is an ordinary scholar. The only thing that was a little eye-catching was the half of the Glaive Knife that Bi Wuzong gave him before he died, firstly, the long blade on this kind of battlefield was too large, and secondly, there was no scabbard to match it, but it could not be hung on his waist like his previous farewell. So along the way, Xian Jingyue could only wrap this glaive knife with a thick cloth, and tie it on his back like a backpack, revealing only a jet-black hilt that was a few feet long, so that others naturally couldn't see what he was carrying on his back.
Although it is early in the morning, the area around the hermitage is very lively, with many local vendors and tourists from other places. These tourists from other places have just watched the sunrise on Mount Emei, and have come here from the golden summit one after another, and they have breakfast at the stalls set up by local vendors. Originally, a set of soybean milk fritters for two pennies, to this Emei Mountain, actually sold more than 20 Wen, the tourists are also accustomed to this, but complained that the Emei Sword Sect occupied the entire Jinding, so as to collect money from the tourists of the Golden Peak, it is simply the king of the green forest mountain who buys the road money.
After many visitors have eaten breakfast, they get up and go to the next hermitage to play, and the first Jingyue also enters the nunnery with them. He was not good at words, and when he entered this Shijia Zen Monastery, he saw that all the nuns in the nunnery were cultivators, and it was inconvenient for him to take the initiative to tempt like Xie Yixiang to lure the nuns in the nunnery to tell his fortune. Fortunately, there are a lot of visitors in the nunnery, first Jingyue is on the side to check, see these nuns are a cold face, just sell some incense and candles to the visitors, even if there are visitors to the merit box to throw money, but also just the salute, from the beginning to the end of the word not much, naturally will not tell the fortune for the tourists, ask them for the birth of the eight characters. At that moment, Xian Jingyue carefully investigated in the nunnery, and there was nothing abnormal in front of him, so he turned around and left, and went to the "Wannian Temple" below.
Speaking of this "Wannian Temple", it can be said that it is one of the ancient temples with the longest history in Emei Mountain, according to legend, it is the old man Pugong Libuddha of the Han Dynasty, built as the Fuxian Temple in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and later rebuilt twice in the Tang and Song dynasties, it was clearly renamed "Baishui Temple" and "Fuxian Temple", until the reconstruction in the early years of this dynasty, it was officially renamed "Shengshou Wannian Temple". In addition, not far away is the famous "Elephant Washing Pond", the legend is that in ancient times, the great disciple of the ancestor of Buddhism Shakyamuni, Puxian Bodhisattva rode an elephant to climb the mountain, and once drew water in the pool there to wash the elephant, which attracted a lot of tourists. Therefore, looking at the whole Mount Emei, in addition to the "Golden Peak" at the top of the mountain and the "Fuhu Temple" at the foot of the mountain, it is the most lively here.
When Xian Jingyue came to Wannian Temple, although it was a scorching summer day with the scorching sun in the sky, this area was crowded with people, and almost blocked the temple gate. He finally followed the visitors into the temple, and before he had walked a few steps, he saw three monks outside the front hall of the temple setting up tables and chairs, and were telling fortunes for the tourists; and in front of the tables of these three monks, there were three long queues, and there were seven or eight tourists lining up in each column waiting for fortune telling. The first Jingyue listened carefully, but listened to the three fortune-telling monks who were like a river, and talked endlessly for the fortune-telling tourists to point out the maze, and asked the depths, and sure enough, they were asking the tourists for the eight characters of their birthdays, and they immediately paid attention to it.
You must know that although Xian Jingyue is the commander of the Imperial Court's pro-military Governor's Mansion, he reads a lot of books in his spare time, so he knows a little bit about the sexagenary and zodiac signs. In addition, after yesterday's explanation by the monk Hai Niantan, for the so-called "four fires together" life, Xian Jingyue is also clear in his chest, as long as he hears the other party's birthday, he will know whether it is the "four fires together" that the other party needs. Therefore, in this situation, he did not line up for fortune telling, but just pretended to be a tourist to wander outside the front hall, paying attention to listening to the three fortune-telling monks, and seeing if there were "four fires together" among these queuing tourists.
After listening to the work of about a meal, there was no gain, but there was a commotion in the queue, but a middle-aged woman in her thirties and forties suddenly walked around from the crowd in line, went straight to the table of the fortune teller monk on the left, and asked loudly in the accent of the Central Plains: "Master, let me ask, what kind of fate are you calculating here? Is it marriage, future, or fortune? The fortune teller was looking at the tourist opposite at this time, and when he saw that the woman suddenly stepped forward to ask a question, he was rude and ignored her. But the woman did not give up, and said, "You monk, you are not polite! I am clearly asking you, but how can you pretend to be deaf and dumb?"
Seeing the woman's behavior, seven or eight people queuing up at the fortune teller's table accused one after another, saying: "Everyone is queuing, why are you cutting in line indiscriminately, there are so no rules!" When the woman heard this, she immediately raised her eyebrows and shouted at those who were in line: "What are you shouting about? What are you cutting in line? Which of your eyes saw me cutting in line? I just came up first to ask clearly, to see what kind of life this monk calculated, and then consider whether to come to the queue." Otherwise, I will be blindly lined up here for half an hour, but in the end this monk will not be able to calculate for me, won't it delay my time?" If the donor needs it, please go to the back of the line. ”
The woman still stood still, muttering: "Two taels of silver? That's a month's expenses for four members of my family, and you monks in Mount Emei have a great appetite! How do I know if your monk is accurate or not? If you can't calculate accurately, won't you cheat my money for nothing?" The people in line behind saw that the woman was still entangled, and couldn't help but scold: "Didn't you woman deliberately come to make trouble? And no one forced you to come to tell fortunes, you can't afford to spend the money and go away, so don't mix here." If you want to count, go to the back and line up!"
Hearing this, the woman suddenly became furious, and scolded sharply: "Who said that I can't afford to spend these two taels of silver? The fortune-telling monk was also a little annoyed, and said angrily: "Since the female donor wants to calculate, please go to the back and line up." ”
But I heard the woman sneer and said, "What's the hurry, whose money isn't earned by luck? I'll listen to how you, the monk, calculated it for them, and if it works, I'll give you the two taels of silver. If you are not good, why should I spend this unjust money?" The tourist who was telling fortunes was stirred up by the woman, so he naturally lost his mood, so he had to curse secretly, and hastily explained a few words to the fortune teller, and then got up and left.
The queue behind was a young man, and when he saw the woman standing next to the fortune teller, it was not easy to step forward and sit down, so he said respectfully: "This eldest sister, I asked this master to tell my fortune, this is a private matter, and I ask the eldest sister to be considerate and avoid it a little." But the woman gave him a roll of the eye, and said, "What are you avoiding? Could it be that you have done some kind of murder and arson, so you are afraid of being heard by others? ”
The young man's face suddenly changed blue and red, and when he was about to flick his sleeves, he didn't care about the long queue and walked away. As a result, when the tourists behind saw the woman here, they were reluctant to come forward to tell their fortunes, and they all shouted and scolded. The woman did not show weakness, and scolded them: "You count your lives, I will listen to it next to you, and it doesn't hinder you anything, what does it matter?" After scolding for a while, she saw that the people behind her still refused to come up to tell the fortune, and when she sat down on the stool in front of the fortune teller's table, she said: "Okay! If you don't calculate, then I'll do it!" Monk, if you can't calculate it for me, don't blame me for not paying you money!"
The fortune-telling monk was so angry that his face was flushed, and he immediately got up and left, but he turned around and went to the apse, and no longer told fortunes for everyone. As a result, the seven or eight people who had been queuing up before were suddenly furious and shouted at the woman, and even the tourists who were queuing up at the table of the other two fortune-telling monks next to them couldn't stand it and blamed the woman. The woman was not afraid at all, and she stomped her legs on the stool, crossed her waist with one hand, pointed at the other hand, and scolded the more than 20 tourists alone, and her words were even more filthy and obscene.
Seeing this, Xian Jingyue next to her couldn't help but sigh secretly, looking at this woman's appearance, she was just an ordinary foreign tourist, but she didn't expect her behavior to be so inferior. Who knew that at this moment, a trace of murderous aura suddenly arose from the crowd in line, and even Xian Jingyue couldn't help but shudder, and said in his heart: "Could it be that there is a master present here, who has already killed that woman?"
