In fact, my understanding is that Hongjun preached the wilderness and was called the Taoist ancestor by all living beings, and this Tao refers to the three thousand avenues, the laws of the world.

And Sanqing is called Daozu, because they set up the Daomen, this Dao refers to the Daomen, Hongjun was handed down at the beginning of the Xuanmen, the Daomen should be founded by Sanqing, so it is also called the Daozu, the ancestor of the Daomen.
