Chapter 306: Scene 2 (2)

Fist hands are a unique form of practice of Wing Chun, it is not the same as boxing gloves, because boxing gloves have a fixed form, such as Wing Chun's boxing gloves "Xiao Niantou" and "Finding the Bridge", no matter how many times you practice, the form is the same. On the other hand, no matter how many times you practice, if you record it, there will be a different change each time; However, the hand is not the same as free fighting, because the result of the latter is bound to determine the winner and loser, while the hand is to learn from each other in order to improve the skills of both sides. Therefore, when practicing the hand, do not mud the elements of free fighting, otherwise it will become meaningless and affect the learning effect.

In the practice of the hand, at least the following four points should be practiced: 1. Technique; 2. Perceptual responses; 3. Force; Fourth, location. These four points are only for the purpose of explaining clearly when studying, and they are often used at two, three, or even four points together.

The so-called "technique" refers to the hand movements of defense and offense during fighting. It is the most important thing for beginners to pursue, because they think that as long as they learn some techniques, they can solve everything, but in fact, the techniques can only be completed with the cooperation of the other three points. Of the four points, technique is the easiest to learn because it is the easiest to see.

"Perception" and "reaction" are two different things, perception comes first and reaction comes later, that is to say, when attacking and defending, it is not Lei to deliberately learn, nor Lei to teach and guide the master, as long as you relax and pay a little attention when you are in the hands of the hand, you will naturally feel it after a period of time.

Wing Chun is a kind of kung fu that uses softness to overcome rigidity, so it is particularly important to use appropriate "force". The so-called appropriate force means that whether it is offensive or defensive, you should exert yourself according to the need, and you don't have to waste your physical energy when you don't need it. If you can use one hand hard and one hand relaxed, you can make the other person elusive. It takes a long time to train your hands to be able to control your strength, and you have to start with weakness.

"Location" is an abstract concept, which is difficult to express in zhangzi, but is simply a combination of distance and direction between friend and foe. Because both sides are constantly changing their distance and direction, and it can't see or feel, it's more difficult to learn. The above four points are more important in terms of force and position, because force cannot be seen, and can only be felt by the hands of the man, while the fifth position is not only not visible, but also not even felt, so it is the most difficult to learn.

There are three stages of learning to play the trick, which follow the sequence of the three sets of gloves of Wing Chun, which are the "Little Thoughts", "Bridge Searching" and "Marking" stages.

The stage of small thoughts is when beginners apply the techniques learned in small thoughts, such as spreading hands, holding hands, and bending hands, to the form of learning of the hands of the hand.

The second stage is the bridge search stage. When the little thoughts are proficient, they should learn to find the bridge, and add the movements of finding the bridge like a carousel, and practice them together with the techniques learned in the small thoughts stage, and finally achieve harmony and mastery.

The third stage, the marking stage, is much the same as the learning process for the two stages mentioned above.

The three stages of the learning process take different amounts of time, but with Ye Zhun's decades of experience in teaching boxing, the first and third stages are usually shorter, while the second stage is longer, as this stage focuses on cultivating the skills of the scholar to overcome rigidity with softness.

Grandmaster Ip Man arrived in Hong Kong in 1949 and began to teach Yongchun boxing, but there were no wooden piles in Hong Kong at that time. In the absence of a wooden stake, the Grandmaster had no choice but to teach the pile method as if it were a fist glove, and this method of playing was called "taking off the pile". It was not until the mid-50s of the 20th century that a disciple came up with the idea of using wooden beams to support wooden stakes and become cross-bearing piles; He Lian, the same door, even switched to using the bullet to make a support, becoming a slingshot pile, and later the most wooden pile was Gu Sheng. The wooden stakes used by Ip Man during his lifetime are now placed in the Ip Man Hall in Foshan as a commemoration.

Wing Chun wooden pile is the unique equipment training of Wei Chunquan, divided into eight sections with a total of 116 styles, is the essence of Gong Wing Chun and the practice of the place, the wooden pile has three hands and one foot, is the imaginary enemy of the practitioner, the structure and size of the wooden pile have strict requirements, in order to meet the needs of the practitioner.

The wooden pile method complements each other with the Wing Chun boxing gloves and the eight slashing knife method, and the practice of the wooden pile method can exercise the roundabout transformation of the body shape and footwork and the orientation and angle of advance and retreat; In order to achieve the level of conformity with the law, the fists, feet, waists, and horses must enter the realm of unity, and the practice of wooden stakes is the only way.

The exercise of the wooden pile is divided into three stages, the first practice of the 116 fixed pile method, and then choose one in each section, that is, a total of eight practical movements repeatedly honed, called "grinding pile"; After grinding the pile, you can enter the third stage, at which time there is no fixed form, and you can freely play the Wing Chun techniques you have learned on the wooden pile.

In fact, the above is not the main purpose of practicing the pile, the most important thing is to practice the position of their own moves, so that they are more accurate when defending against the enemy, in order to supplement the lack of goose hands, when the goose hands, the opponent moves around at will, we can only take care of the changes of the enemy and me, but it is difficult to practice their own position, and the stake is fixed, we use this to make their own frame, the technique is more accurate and beautiful.

Many people have a wrong view of wooden piles, one of which is that piling should be hard and strong enough, and the purpose is to practice hard bridge hands. If this is the case, there is no need to practice the pile method, and the goal can be achieved by knocking Shen casually; The second is that they think that the wooden pile is very mysterious and that they are invincible in the world, so many masters will open a room to teach, and tell the disciples who study not to pass on other brothers and sisters, and will charge a lot of profits for opening the pile.

Everyone knows that an important part of Wing Chun is the hand of the hand, and it must be practiced diligently, but sometimes if you want to play the hand but cannot find an opponent, you can find a pile as an opponent.

On the surface, it is better to practice the hand with someone than to follow the pile, because the person can move and react; The pile will not move and will not react, but in fact, piling also has its advantages, that is, the position five. For example, if you raise your hand, the real person's hand will be pushed out of position, but the pile will not, and the position is very accurate. Therefore, Xi Wing Chun must not only be more skillful, but also more piling.

Three main points for driving wooden stakes

1. The pile is wood, only you hit it, it doesn't hit you. But when driving piles, you must not have this idea, always imagine that it is a real opponent who will fight back against you, otherwise you will be killed when it comes to practical application.

2. To stake a stake. What is a pile? It is to reduce the distance between one's hand and the pile hand to the shortest. In a real fight, if you don't give your opponent a chance to move, you're much safer.

3. There are three pile hands in the pile, and the lower pile hand simulates the opponent's boxing on your lower abdomen, or kicking straight with your feet. If it is the former, use the low arm to resist the gear, and the latter will clap the hand to eliminate. As for the above left and right pile hands, in fact, the opponent's foot will rarely come out with two fists, the general situation is one before and one behind, so the two pile hands are a virtual and a real, and when driving piles, it is necessary to figure out which is a virtual hand and which is a real hand. For example, when you use your right hand to raise the inner door, there seems to be a gap in your right rib for your opponent to take advantage of, but in fact the right pile hand is just a virtual hand (Figure 1), which cannot hit you, the practitioner should assume that the opponent is attacking him with a straight fist in the middle, and the left pile hand makes a pause to help you set the position of the inner door hand.

Wing Chun techniques are mainly based on the three hands of the shoulder, stall and volt, supplemented by pillow, suffocation, circle, spring, block, diameter bundle, support, push, pat, ask, mark, slash, punch and other more than ten strokes, the action is simple, emphasizing the dexterity of the wrist and the strength of the elbow.

In terms of footwork, it is usually ignored by outsiders who think that Wing Chun does not have footwork. As with the technique, the footwork of Wing Chun is also very simple, as far as the kicking action is concerned, it is mainly based on straight kicks, horizontal kicks, and upward kicks, and all kick the enemy with heels. The "Eight Kicks of Wing Chun" should be combined with the rotation of the horse, the movement of the horse and the technique to attack the enemy's waist, knees, shin and other parts, and the power is amazing.

In terms of horse steps, there are two-character sheep horses and meridian horses, and moving ones are turnaround horses, circle horses, standard horses, and triangle horses. The four-level horses of the other faction bent their legs and knees as far apart as possible, and stood extremely steady, but the change was slow. Standing upright with the legs close to each other, and although it is easy to move the feet, but not steady, the horse step of Wing Chun strikes a compromise between stability and change. The techniques and footwork of Wing Chun will not be used alone, but must be combined with horse steps to have an effect; Therefore, horse step is the soul of Wing Chun technique and footwork.

There are three sets of Wing Chun: Little Thoughts, Bridge Seeking, and Fingers, which mark different stages of learning.

1. Small thoughts

Small thoughts are the basic punches of Wing Chun, thoughts are thoughts, meanings, small thoughts are small meanings, meaning basic meanings; The "small" of the small thought is homophonic with the word "less", and the less thought is that those who want to practice martial arts must first eliminate distracting thoughts and be pure in spirit. Sincerity and righteousness have always been the attitude of Chinese learning, if you can eliminate distracting thoughts, make the brain rest and rest, and can be healthy, its effect is similar to Tai Chi, yoga, qigong and other spiritual exercises, but it requires a higher level to reach. The small thoughts are divided into three sections, which are used to exercise skills, strength, and techniques.

Tips for practicing small thoughts

1. Relax. Relax your muscles, relax your strength, and most importantly, relax your brain. The brain dominates the body, and if it is compressed, so do the other parts.

2. After driving the horse, you can only move your hands, especially not to move your head and arms, and you should practice in front of the mirror in order to observe your movements.

3. Be slow. The slower, the better.

Three bars of small thoughts

The first session is mainly about exercises. To be slow means to practice seriously. The main skill of Wing Chun is called "elbow strength", which is the ability to protect oneself, and there are three other requirements in this section:

1. Lean on the elbow. Whether you spread your hands or fold your hands, you have to lean on your elbows, and if you can't relax your brain, it's hard to do that.

2. Take the midline. Place the tip of the middle finger of the hand and the hand on the midline; The same is true when the index finger of the hand is on the first section and the hand. (See image below)

3. Self-judgment. It is up to your own consciousness to review your posture to really know what the standard is.

The second section is mainly to practice the method of exerting force. What is the meaning of "need"? It is to exert force at the moment when the target is about to be touched, and to exert force over a short distance, otherwise on the one hand, it will consume physical energy, and on the other hand, it will be easy to be guarded against by the enemy. Bruce Lee called it "inch strength", and Weichun boxing called "Long Bridge Power". Therefore, in the second quarter, we will practice left-right, back, forward, and horizontal splits, and the requirements for position are not very important.

The third section is mainly to practice the basic techniques. The hands are practiced in the first section, which focuses on other techniques, especially the spread hands and the hands. To relax, avoid pushing the top, but ask for an accurate position.

2. Bridge finding

Finding a bridge, as the name suggests, means looking for a bridge hand. The fight is unfolding, the enemy will move, and the bridge is to exercise the footwork to adapt to the changes of the opponent's bridge hand, therefore, the set of boxing contains 180 degrees, 90 degrees of the horse, and there are walking horses, standard horses. Secondly, the hand, leg kick, and straight kick are also the main exercises of this boxing.

Finding the bridge is the same as the small thought, which is also divided into three sections, but the bridge search is one level higher than the small thought, for example, the small thought is a one-handed action after all, and the bridge is used with both hands; The steps and directions of the small thoughts are single, and the search for the bridge is diverse.

So, what is the function of finding a bridge? Let me first say that Wing Chun is a set of kung fu that uses softness to control rigidity, defeats the strong with the small, and defeats the strong with the weak. If it is just "strength from the heart", then it is not good to do Wing Chun. I can tell you that any master who can teach you to use soft and rigid techniques is a good master. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to practice diligently, in addition to the following points:

Practice the tips of finding bridges

1. The arms should be relaxed, avoid pushing the top, and cooperate with the horse step.

2. The low-handed hand is used for defense, so it should be strong enough, and the palm of the hand should be in a straight line with the arm, but it should be relaxed immediately after touching the opponent, and it should also cooperate with the horse's gait.

3. Indexing

The standard refers to the advanced set of Wing Chun, which still needs to practice lapping horses, trail (sound farming) hands, and rolling hands.

There is a saying in the ancient Weichun boxing teaching: "The mark does not go out", that is, the mark should be left to the moment before the apprentice stands on his own, but in fact, I don't think this opinion is appropriate.

Finger is Yongchunquan's attack technique. If the calculation is based on the 108 movements of the whole set of punches, there are 12 strokes of the elbow, 12 strokes of the finger, and 12 strokes of the hand, and these three strokes account for one-third of the total, that is to say, they are the backbone of the whole set of boxing, so I will make the following individual explanations:

Elbows

The elbow is the shortest range of attacks, and the advantage is that the elbow is more powerful than the fist and more lethal. It should be noted that when using, you must master the distance and position, and the elbow and the horse must arrive at the same time, otherwise it will be dangerous to yourself, so it is better not to use it. In addition, because it is more harmful at the extreme, it should not be used when the hands are broken.

Markers

In principle, the mark is to insert the enemy's eyes, so that the hand has to be defended, and wait for the defender to show the flaw, and then carry out the second round of attacks. It should be noted that the marker must be marked by the bottom of the elbow of the other hand to prevent it from being blocked by the timing party.

Ask the hand

The questioner has two functions: one is that when fighting, the most dangerous situation is that "the opponent's hand is gone", and "missing" means that he will attack at any time, posing a potential threat to himself, and the questioning hand is to get this hand back. The second is that the side that moves first will often suffer a bit of a dark loss, and it is easy for the opponent to take advantage of the gap to attack, if you start with a question, you can minimize this danger.

Other techniques of labeling

In addition to the elbows, fingers and hand-asking, there are two other important techniques for finger gloves:

The first is the double finger, which can make an effective defensive form, and the key is to only touch the opponent with one hand and stay relaxed.

The second is to roll the hand, remember that the hand can only be used under conditions, that is, when the opponent is exhausted or when the arm is hard to push, hard push can be used, and pay attention to three things when casting:

1. Lock the opponent's elbow;

2. When the force is down, it will achieve greater effect;

3. Let go at the right time, otherwise even if you can get it, you won't have the hands to attack.
