Chapter 23 Buddhism has no distinction between high and low, saving the red dust girl.
I hope that everyone will not litter when they go out into the streets, and the cleaners also work hard to clean the streets every day.
I still remember that the Buddhist scriptures tell the story of the dung picker Nithi's house: In the Acropolis, there was a man of the Shudra tribe named Niti. He specializes in picking manure for other people, doing some hard work, and earning a meager salary to support his life. He was honest, frugal, not boastful, and never slack. Once, when the Buddha was meditating, he knew that Nitti had removed his karma and that it was time to be free from suffering. So he and Ananda went out into the street together, and came to the mouth of an alley, and it just so happened that Niti came out of the alley with dung. When he saw the presence of the Buddha and remembered his own filth, he wanted to hide from him, afraid to meet the Great Sage Buddha. But the alley was too narrow for him to hide. When he was in a panic, the bucket that picked up dung was broken. Nitty was drenched in drench. He was even more ashamed and afraid, bowing his head and not daring to see the Buddha.
When the Buddha came to him, he said to Nitty, "Nitty, would you like to become a monk? Do you like to be free from suffering?" Nitty said with a look of shame on his face: "The Buddha is a noble and noble, a disciple of the Golden Wheel, a disciple of his followers, and a nobleman. I was born lowly, how can I compare with them? How can I be so blessed to become a monk?
The Buddha told Nitti, "Nitty, the Dharma is the most subtle, like pure water, it cleanses all the dirt, whatever it is, it is washed by pure water, and it is immediately renewed. The Dharma is like a fire, it can burn everything, big or small, new or old, and when it touches the fire, it immediately turns to ashes.
Buddhism is the most egalitarian, there is no distinction between rich and poor, there is no difference between men and women, old and young, as long as you are willing to get rid of suffering and practice diligently, anyone can become a monk.
The words of the Buddha surprised and moved Nitti very much. In this way, he followed the Buddha to the Monastery and ordained a monk. Later, he practiced diligently, and soon attained the Sudra Fruit. After receiving the Sudra Fruit, he continued to listen to the sutras and listen to the Dharma, meditate and meditate, and gradually opened the door to wisdom, so that he could understand and practice the mystical principles that the Buddha said, and thus obtained the Arhat Fruit.
When Nyti came home, many vulgar people were troubled. They thought that how could a dung-picker Niti be a monk of the Great Sage Buddha? How could he be supported by the masses because he was from a humble background? The discussion of the masses soon reached the ears of the king. When the king of Persia heard this, he was puzzled, so he got on the chariot and went to the Monastery to ask the Buddha. When the car reached the door, the king came down and went to rest in the shade of the trees. Then I saw a dignified monk sitting on a big stone beside him, mending his clothes. King Bosnian happily walked forward and said, "Venerable, I would like to ask to see the Buddha, please let me know, is that okay?"
When the monk sitting on the stone agreed, he went in from the stone, and after a while, he came out of the stone again and said to the king, "The Buddha has allowed the king to meet now. It was strange for the king to see that this monk was able to enter and go freely from the seamless stone, so when he saw the Buddha and bowed, he put his palms together and asked the Buddha:
"Buddha, I just asked him to inform your bhikkhus, who is his name? His supernatural powers are really rare. The Buddha smiled and said to King Bosnia, "O king, isn't the question you have come here today to ask about Nitty? I have transformed the person you consider to be the lowliest, and now, under my teaching, he has attained the Arhat Fruit.
The bhikshu you met just now is Nitti. When the Buddha spoke, he swept away the slowness of King Bosnia. The Buddha also said, "Everyone who is born in the world, whether rich or poor, is the result of their own karma, and if they are kind and humble to others, and if they respect the elders and protect the young, they will be born noble." On the contrary, a vicious, violent, arrogant and debauched person will be born despicable. After listening to the Buddha's teachings, King Bosnian praised the Buddha's virtues. He knew that the compassion of the Buddha was able to uplift suffering beings and make them happy.
King Bosnian then asked why Niti was born into a humble place. The Buddha said, "In the past, after the Buddha came to Nirvana, there was a monk in the Sangha of 100,000 people who was very proud and arrogant, and asked his companions to do his own things for him. Once, when he was a little unwell, he didn't bother to get out of bed, so he called his companions to clean his room for him, treating others as messengers and disrespecting others. Because of this karma, in 500 lifetimes, they were all born as human beings to remove dung. Being able to meet the Buddha in this life was also the merit of being a monk and learning the Tao at that time. After the Buddha finished speaking, King Persian and the people no longer dared to belittle people casually. There are many snobbish visions in the world who hate the poor and love the rich, but the rich and the rich will not be rich forever; Poor people are not poor forever. Powerful people bully and oppress others, and the next life is always sad.
The first volume of the Lengyan Sutra records that after a great puja, the Buddha led many disciples to receive offerings from King Bosnia, but Ananda did not follow, so he went to the streets of the Acropolis alone to beg for food. After walking for a long time, they came to a settlement, but the bowl was still empty, and Ananda was hot, hungry, and thirsty.
There happened to be an ancient well in front of her, and a woman was fetching water there, and when Ananda walked to the well, the woman looked up and saw the monk, and her eyes lit up, and her heart exclaimed, "What a solemn bhikshu!"
The woman's name was Modenga and she belonged to the Shudra caste. According to Indian tradition, the people of the Shudra caste are the lowest of the four castes4 and they sweep the streets for a living, and they have no right to chant sutras, make sacrifices, associate with the other three castes, or even take water, food, etc. So when Ananda asked for water, he hesitated and didn't dare to offer water to Ananda.
Ananda understood the reason and comforted her, "The Buddha taught that the four castes are equal, and that even though you belong to the Shudra caste, you can still provide food for the bhikshus. When she heard this, she was overjoyed, and she poured water into Ananda's bowl with great joy and stared at Ananda with wide eyes until he left.
When she returned home, she was sick with thoughts, and she missed Ananda all day long, and her food was tasteless, and she lost the joy of life, and she was either depressed or meditative all day long. Seeing that her flower-like face was getting thinner and thinner, her mother was relieved and repeatedly interrogated her about what was on her mind to torment her.
It was only at the end that she told her mother her thoughts, and her mother managed to get her to marry Ananda. The mother knew that the bhikshu was sacred and inviolable, and that the love of her daughter could not be realized. But the daughter was desperate for life and life, and she loved this monk with all her heart.
The mother loved her daughter so much that she came to Ananda and said, "My daughter fell in love with you at first sight, and I thought that I would marry my daughter to you." Ananda said, "I am not allowed to take a wife by my vows." The mother of the Mahunga begged Ananda, "If you do not marry my daughter, she will kill herself, and I beg you to save my daughter's life." β
Ananda was very embarrassed and said, "I am a monk with the Buddha, and as a monk, I am not allowed to marry and have children. β
When the mother returned, she explained the situation to the woman and persuaded her daughter to die. But the modern woman was not reconciled, and cried and said to her mother, "If I can't become Ananda's wife, I will die." Mother has great divine powers, and she can beg me. β
Mother replied, "There is no one in the world who can surpass the power of the Buddha and the Arhats. β
"Mother can recite a charm to confuse Ananda, and after dark, he will not be allowed to go out, and then we will be married." β
In desperation, when Ananda came to her door again to ask for the alms, she used evil magic to make Ananda confused, and involuntarily entered the home of the modern woman.
Ananda knew something was wrong and refused to comply.
Enraged, the mother of the Maha Gya lit a fire in front of the door, and pulled Ananda's clothes and threatened, "If you don't obey, I'll throw you into the fire and burn you to death." Ananda felt unspeakable in his heart, regretting that he usually didn't use his work, and he couldn't do it when he was in danger.
When Ananda was in danger, the Buddha knew that Ananda was suffering, and he quickly sent Manjushri to find Ananda near the house of the modern goddess, and told all the bhikshus to hold the mantra wholeheartedly.
At this time, Ananda was in the room of the modern woman, and when she was about to break the vows, she suddenly came to her senses and immediately left the modern woman and ran back to the Buddha's place of practice.
When the modern woman saw Ananda suddenly leave her, she was very sad and came to the temple to wait for Ananda. Ananda went out to dervishes, and the modern woman followed him stupidly; Ananda was too frightened to go out, so the modern woman waited outside the door. When she didn't see Ananda for a day, she was at a loss and went back crying.
Ananda had no choice but to ask the Buddha for help.
The Buddha asked the modern woman, "Why are you chasing Ananda so hard?"
The woman replied, "Ananda has no wife, and I have no husband, so Ananda and I can be married just in time, so please have the Buddha's mercy to fulfill our good deeds." β
The Buddha said, "Do you really love Ananda?"
"I really love him. β
The Buddha said, "Ananda has no hair, so if you are willing to shave your hair, you will be like her, and I can let Ananda take you as a wife." Without hesitation, the modern lady replied, "I can do anything for the sake of Ananda." β
The Buddha said, "Then you go home and tell your mother, shave your hair and come back." β
When she returned home, she begged her mother to shave her hair.
The mother of the modern lady was very sad and said, "My daughter's hair is like a peacock's feathers, and she should be carefully protected." You are as beautiful as a fairy, there are so many handsome men in the country, I will definitely be able to help my daughter find a wishful husband, why bother to marry a shamen?"
The modern woman replied, "I was born as a man of Ananda and died as a ghost of Ananda." In this life, I will not marry Ananda. β
The mother of the modern lady wept as she shaved her daughter's hair.
After shaving her hair, she happily came to the Buddha and said, "I have lost my hair, please fulfill your promise." β
The Buddha asked the modern woman, "What do you love about Ananda?"
"I love Ananda's bright eyes, I love Ananda's handsome nose, I love Ananda's charming ears, I love Ananda's sweet voice, I love Ananda's elegant steps, I love everything about Ananda. β
The Buddha asked, "Ananda has unclean tears in his eyes, phlegm in his nose, saliva in his mouth, earwax in his ears, and dirty urine and feces in his body." From this point of view, what is there about Ananda's body worthy of love, if he is unclean and filthy after marriage, and after giving birth to a child, he will be born, old, sick, and die."
In order to further guide the modern goddess to comprehend impure contemplation, the Buddha asked someone to bring out Ananda's bath water and asked her, "Since you love Ananda so much, this basin of water is Ananda's bath water, so drink it!"
The modern woman was startled and said, "Buddha, you are the Great Compassionate, why do you ask me to drink such dirty water?"
The Buddha said, "Everyone's body is so dirty, and now when Ananda is healthy, you are already dirty, so what will you think when he dies of old age and corruption in the future?"
After listening to the Buddha's words, she was suddenly able to observe the impurity of the human body, and she could no longer love itβit turned out that Ananda's body was so dirty, so what else could she love? From then on, the thoughts of love and greed were eliminated, and she suddenly became enlightened, and she really became a monk and witnessed the first fruits.
When I first learned Buddhism, I also had compassion and compassion, I felt that Hongchen women lost their footing, girls and women, etc., very pitiful, I still remember once I explained the Dharma to a woman who lost her footing, and guided her to take refuge in the Three Jewels and chant Buddha, I said, although you are in this place, but the Buddha is compassionate, as long as you sincerely chant the Buddha, the Buddha and the Bodhisattva bless, you can leave this place as soon as possible, the Buddha will not come to help you because of what your identity is, the Buddha is compassionate to save all sentient beings, I guided many stumbling girls and women to recite the Buddha, teach them to release their lives, once I enlightened the stumbling women to recite the Buddha, after the enlightenment, I left, and then I was hit by a 20-ton truck, the person flew more than 10 meters away, and the person did not have anything, that is, a slight bruise, this is the blessing of the Buddha and the protection of the Dharma, so there is no serious injury Many of these stumbling girls and women have unjust creditors around them, hoping that they will become more and more degenerate, because I go to help them so they come to take revenge on me, but because of my compassion and the support of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, it is only slight, and because of my intention, the karma of killing that I have created before will inevitably suffer the retribution of death, but because I have learned Buddhism and cultivated goodness, it is only a slight bruise.
I hope everyone can be compassionate, I remember once I was talking to those women in the countryside, there was a woman who had an abortion, she had two children, one had an abortion, and the other was born, I told her that if the abortion is not good, there will be bad retribution, I taught him to recite the Buddha's dedication, and I also led her to release the child, and I released her by the river at that time, and many people saw it, and they planted the seeds of goodness.
