Chapter Forty-Eight: The Fish's Struggle.
A friend of mine of mine raised a fish farm, where fish were often slaughtered, and my father also went over to help, and he also brought some fish back, and when the fish were brought back, my mother killed them, and my wife and I didn't eat fish and seafood, everyone else ate them, and I also asked my wife and I to chant Buddha and dedicate to these sentient beings.
I remember that I dreamed that the fish was left with the skeleton of the fish struggling in the toilet bucket, asking for help, and I remember that I used to work as a waiter in a hotel for a period of time, and this hotel was making hot pot for seafood made with ice materials, and the flesh on the fish was scraped off and put on the ice, leaving the head and skeleton of the fish stuck in the ice, still struggling, not dead yet.
I remember that a fish was killed like this, eyebrows and eyes were glared out, there must be resentment in my heart, I was a waiter in the hotel, I often gave those fish that were killed, and the fish that had not yet been killed, took refuge in the Three Jewels and recited the Buddha's dedication, and often chatted with the chef in the hotel, hoping that they would change to a vegetarian chef and not be a chef who killed, there is an Amitabha Hotel in Fuzhou that is a vegetarian four-star hotel.
Some of the cooks were influenced by me, and I chanted the Great Compassion Mantra and some of them learned from it, and I taught them to recite the Liberation Mantra: Abhijadunga and the Six Vajra Mantras: Aha Shasa Maha.
The chefs also recited this mantra with me, and when the hotel found rats, they taught me to deal with them, and I released them into the grass nearby.
At that time, I went to the Saichan Temple Friendship Shop and took a silver card Medicine Buddha, brought it back to the hotel, and gave it to a chef, and he hung this on the chef, and I told those chefs that you have time to worship the Buddha and repent of your sins.
At that time, I also took out my own money, let the chef in the hotel recite the Buddhist mantra, there are the mantra of the past life, the quasi-mention mantra, the mantra of the seven Buddhas, etc., as well as read the text of repentance of sins, as long as the mantra is recited, and read the text of repentance of sins, I will give him 100 yuan, there is a wok's cook, every time after arguing, when resting, he is very serious about reciting the mantra, although he recites the mantra in order to get the money I give, but the process of reciting the mantra is very serious has been reading the mantra until the memorization, in short, many chefs in the hotel were touched by me to the Buddha, and then this group of chefs left the hotelγ
I hope you won't be killing and eating meat in the future after reading the article I wrote.
Great Nirvana Sutra: At this time, the Gyalpa Bodhisattva said to the Buddha, "World-honored one. A man who eats meat should not give meat to him. Because I know that there is great merit for those who do not eat meat. β
The Buddha praised the Buddha: "Good, good, good." You're going to get me pretty well today. Dharma Protectors should do so. Good men, from now on, it is not allowed for the disciples to eat meat. If you accept the alms of Tanyue believers. Visualize this food as the flesh of your own son.
The Bodhisattva said to the Buddha again, "World-honored one. Why is it not allowed to eat meat?" The Buddha said, "Good man." The flesh-eater is cut off by the great mercy seed. Then he said, "Why did the bhikshus be allowed to eat three kinds of pure meat?" The Buddha said, "Kasya." These three types of pure meat are gradually formulated according to events. Then the Buddha said, "World-honored one." Why are the ten impurities or even the nine purities not allowed to be left unchecked? The Buddha told the Buddha, "It is also gradually formulated according to events, and it should be understood that those meanings are the same as those of the present cut off flesh." β
The Buddha said to the Buddha, "Why do you come to praise fish as a delicacy?" I don't say fish or anything like that. I say sugar cane, japonica rice, stone honey, all grain wheat and black stone honey, cheese, and oil are delicacies. Though there should be all kinds of clothing, there should be unsightly colors. What's more, coveting the smell of fish?" Kasaba then said, "If you are not allowed to eat meat." The five flavors: cheese, buttermilk, crisp, crisp, flax, oil, etc., as well as all kinds of clothes, such as lavish clothes, copes, leather, gold, silver, and utensils. These things should not be accepted either. β
The Buddha said, "Good man." Don't share the views of those Nicans. All the vows made by Nyolai have different meanings. Because of the difference, they are allowed to eat three kinds of pure meat. Because of a whim, ten kinds of meat were cut off. Everything is broken because of a whim, and suicide. Kasya. I have decreed from this day that my disciples shall no longer eat all flesh. Kasya. It eats meat. If you walk, if you live, if you sit or lie down, all sentient beings will be terrified when they smell meat. For example, if someone approaches a lion, everyone will be terrified when they see him smell the lion's stench.
At this time, Kasa said to the Buddha, "World-honored one. Bhikshus, bhikshunis, upasaks, upasaks. Accept the generosity of others and live. If the food given by someone else is mixed with meat. How do you eat the purification?"
The Buddha said, "Kasya." It should be washed with water, and the meat should be washed out before eating. If the utensils used to serve the rice are contaminated with meat, they can be used as long as there is no meat in the washed dishes. If the food is too meaty, it should not be accepted. All kinds of meat (such as roast chicken, roast duck, etc.) should not be eaten, and those who eat it are guilty. I preach today about this system of cutting off meat. If you say it in detail, it's endless. Now that we are approaching nirvana, we are talking briefly, so it is called being able to answer questions and answers.
In the Vinaya Sutra, it is recorded that there was a man who loved his son very much and created a lot of karma for him. When he was dying, he couldn't let go of his son and was reincarnated as a cow of his own. The son killed it and ate the beef. When he died, he was reborn as his own cow, and his son killed him again. He was reincarnated as his own cow for the third time, and when his son was about to kill it, the Venerable Sariputta appeared at his door, and through his supernatural observation, he found that the cow had been talking to himself, "I have been here twice, but you have killed both of them." My beloved son, now that you are going to kill me again, I am very uncomfortable, I can't bear it, but I can't resist it. The Venerable Sariputta told his son about this, and later released the cow. Therefore, the meat we usually eat is likely to be a relative in a previous life.
Generally speaking, according to the viewpoint of the Ranga Sutra, all the meat we enjoy now is closely related to our relatives in the past, such as the Sutra: "I am a relative of the people, and I am more like meat." "If you eat beef, the cow is your relative in your previous life, and if you eat pork, the pig is also your relative in your previous life. Therefore, it is best to be able to skip meat, everyone must understand this truth, and let's quit vegetarianism together. Lengyan Sutra: People die as sheep, sheep die as people, devour each other to collect debts, that is, you eat animals, animals will also come to eat you, and turn each other to collect debts and retaliate. Thinking of one of my cousins and my dad and my cousin's dad, 3 people sat in a car, my cousin was driving, and there was a car accident, I sincerely chanted the Buddha and prayed for the blessings of the Buddha, and I wanted to know what the reason was, and that night I dreamed of my cousin's mother in my previous life, and he said that I was your cousin's mother in his previous life, and the pork he ate was me, and I was unwilling so I came to take revenge, and your father, and my cousin's father, because he also ate my meat, so I was unwilling, so I took revenge on you. Now we understand that everything is cause and effect.
Excerpt from "The Ten Evils of the Great Buddha Huayan Sutra" Ka Ye Bodhisattva asked the Buddha: World-honored, if you come to explain to me, how many blessings will you get if you don't drink alcohol or eat meat?
The Buddha told Kasya: If someone gives alms like horses, cattle and sheep, glass treasures, and wives of the country, his merit is not as good as one of the merits of someone who can cut off wine and meat;
If someone gives alms to three thousand worlds with a hundred thousand taels of gold, his merit is not as good as one of the merits of someone who can cut off wine and meat.
If someone casts a golden body like a human and gives alms, his merit is not as good as one of the merits of someone who can cut off wine and meat.
If someone makes a man-made banner and fills the three thousand worlds, his merit is not as good as one of the merits of someone who can cut off wine and meat.
If there is a man-made large floating pagoda, the eaves are connected, such as rice, hemp, bamboo and reeds, up to Brahma, its merit is not as good as one of the merits of someone who can cut off wine and meat.
