Chapter Eighty-Six: The Hero Is Short of Breath

These poems are artistically characterized by the following three aspects:

(2) vivid and delicate depiction of scenery;

(3) Stylized characteristics in structure.

The first two characteristics can be said to be his artistic achievements, as for the third is the biggest difference between him and Tao Gong, Tao Gong does not pay attention to any fixed format when writing poems, as for Xie Gong likes to use the same mode when writing poems, his poems from the overall structure, often make a tour first, then write about what he has seen and heard, and talk about Xuan reasoning at the end, dragging a tail of Xuan Yan. This structural mode formed by narrative, scene writing, and reasoning makes Xie Shi present a stylized characteristic. As for the reason for the formation of this stylized structure, it can be said that it is related to the limitations of Xie Lingyun's aesthetic consciousness of landscapes. Xie Lingyun could not forget political power all his life, and when he was politically frustrated and then traveled to the mountains and rivers, he only used the mountains and rivers as a sensory stimulus to cover up his enthusiasm for power. Therefore, when he writes scenes, he cannot really achieve the perfect integration of emotion, scenery and reason, nor can he form a complete and seamless artistic conception.

I had read Sima Qian's "Historical Records" as early as elementary school, but at that time, it was purely in the form of a storybook, and then I grew up slowly, and my literary literacy began to gradually improve, and I began to really like this "Historical Records", and even developed a deep reverence for Sima Qian. Today, what I want to discuss with you is one of the famous articles in the "Historical Records": "The Biography of Lian Po Lin Xiangru".

"The Biography of Lian Po Lin Xiangru" vividly portrays a group of characters with different personalities, such as Lian Po, Lin Xiangru, Zhao Hao, Li Mu, Zhao Huiwen Wang, etc., who are either upright or loyal, reckless or witty, and the images are vivid and convincing.

Sima Qian is good at grasping the main characteristics of the characters and trying his best to render them. For example, when dealing with the image of Lin Xiangru, who has a lot of deeds, he grasps the characteristic of "wisdom and bravery" as the core to describe. As he praised at the end of this biography: "Taishi Gong said: Knowing death must be brave, it is difficult for those who are not dead, and it is difficult for those who are executed." Fang Lin is like a pillar of inattention, and the king of Qin is around, but he is not too strong to be punished, but he is cowardly and does not dare to send it. It is like working hard to prestige the enemy, retreating and giving way, and the name of Mount Tai is important. "When describing events such as the return to Zhao and the meeting of Michi, Lin Xiangru's wit and bravery are tightly linked, leaving a deep impression on readers.

Sima Qian did his best to render things in the text, gathering momentum layer by layer, like a river intercepting the flow. For example, in the text, he exaggerated the wisdom of the general trend of the world for his own use five times: relieving the difficulties of the country, using international public opinion, and taking advantage of the momentum of Qin's negative song, to send the bi to Qin; the king of Qin did not pay for the city, just like after obtaining the jade bi with "the bi is flawed, please instruct the king", he grasped the weakness of the king of Qin's greed, and wanted to hit the pillar with the bi, and threatened the king of Qin with the momentum of "Qin is afraid of the bi", and seized the fault of more than 20 monarchs of the Qin state of "not being firm and restrained", and took advantage of the situation on our side to make people return to Zhao; and the meeting of the pond, using the "blood splash of the king with his neck within five steps" The momentum forced the king of Qin to submit to the law, which was a blow to the enemy, and forced Qin not to dare to use force by taking advantage of the situation of "Zhao Yisheng to set up troops to wait for Qin". Like courage and wisdom, it is already radiant. At this point, Sima Qian's pen gesture took a sharp turn: the resourceful and high-spirited Lin Xiangru actually repeatedly forbearance and avoided the vexatious Lian Po, and even the doorman felt ashamed. When the doorman was about to leave him, he revealed his mind of "first the urgency of the country and then personal enmity". The same supreme wisdom and virtuous demeanor stand out in front of the reader's eyes. This is also a characteristic of Sima Qian's writing, using the contrast between the front and back to highlight the characters and make them more vivid.

I used to think about a question that people are used to divide into poor and rich people in society, but what kind of door is a door that is colder than a cold door? But I think if there really is that division, I must be a level lower than Hanmen. Don't worry, let me tell you a story:
