Chapter 22: Half-heartedness
The next day, Lu Yanning went to the supermarket first, bought some vegetables and some meat, and prepared to take them to the master, and he wouldn't leave today. Every time I go to Master's place, it is the meal prepared by the Master, and Lu Yanning is embarrassed.
Back in the dormitory, with the mooncakes and tea he bought last night, Lu Yanning rode his bicycle to Gushan as usual. In fact, there is a bus to Gushan, and riding a bicycle is not to save money, but Lu Yanning thinks it is more convenient.
When I arrived at the courtyard where the master was, I found that the master was not there.
Lu Yanning has been here many times, and he is not as restrained as before, putting the things he bought in the refrigerator, but the box of moon cakes is placed on the table in the house.
It's the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the temperature in Hujie City still hasn't dropped much, except that it will feel a little cool in the morning and night, and there is not much difference between the day and before, so basically everyone is still wearing short sleeves, and Lu Yanning is no exception.
However, I don't know if it's an illusion, every time Lu Yanning comes here, he feels different from the outside, and it is very comfortable.
When I came to such a comfortable place, the first thing was, of course, practice.
Standing in the courtyard, Lu Yanning opened the shelf and practiced a set of boxing techniques taught by the master in the past two months: Xuanwu Boxing.
This set of boxing methods imitates the form and spirit of Xuanwu, one of the four divine beasts, with both movement and static, implying the meaning of Tai Chi. Lu Yanning saw Guo Daochang practice this boxing technique several times on the mountain at that time, and he was overjoyed, so he worshiped Guo Daochang's door.
I have to say that maybe Lu Yanning is really a little talented, but this set of boxing techniques is also similar when practiced. The most important thing is that it is not just the boxing method itself, but the operation of the true qi in the body can be driven through this set of boxing methods! After practicing a set of boxing methods, although the amount of true qi that can be increased is not much, it is better than nothing, and this is also an incidental effect, and it is purely unexpected to have this effect.
Boxing, the most important role, is actually still technical strikes. As for everything else, it can be said that it is all incidental. However, for Taoist cultivators, although the technique is important, it is more about the polishing of the body and mind in the process of cultivation.
After practicing Xuanwu boxing, Lu Yanning took a short rest and stood up. However, the pile he is standing on now is no longer the health pile he just learned, but the Five Elements Pile Method taught by Guo Daochang, which is said to be the refining of the Five Elements Qi, and Lu Yanning still doesn't understand some of its internal things, anyway, the master will practice whatever he says.
After standing on the pile, Lu Yanning practiced the Yijin Sutra again. Today's Yijin Sutra can be very different from before, and with each style of the heart, you can feel the true qi in the body coaxing and moving. In the past month, in addition to the normal practice, coupled with the method of sleeping and refining, it can be said that the effect is at least double, and the accumulation of true qi is not slow.
Especially after opening the geocentric aperture in the body, the innate essence stored in the human body was refined into true qi, which accelerated this speed, especially when it was combined with taking Xiao Pei Yuan Dan for cultivation and supplementation. However, it seems that the amount of food has increased a lot in the past month, but it is only three days to run to the master to eat, and the food expenses have not increased much.
After practicing everything that should be practiced, Lu Yanning waited until the moon was in the middle of the sky in the evening and waited for the master to come back.
Guo Daochang saw Lu Yanning, but he was also a little surprised, and said: "Your home is not far away, right?
Lu Yanning smiled and said, "Isn't it that Master is here alone, so I want to come over to accompany Master to admire the moon." ”
"Okay, it's rare that you have the heart, why don't you go and boil water to make a pot of tea?" Guo Daochang didn't dwell on anything, but said to Lu Yanning with a smile.
Lu Yanning naturally didn't say anything, ran to boil water, and at the same time brought the moon cakes and tea he bought.
The master and apprentice sat down in the courtyard, eating moon cakes, drinking tea, and chatting.
Uh, the tea that Lu Yanning bought is really not good, this guy doesn't understand tea, the tea he bought in the supermarket was actually cheated by someone, it didn't taste good at all, it was too astringent, and it had a bit of bitterness.
In the end, he still replaced the tea brought by Guo Daochang, although there was no packaging, and Lu Yanning didn't understand that tea couldn't say anything, but it was smooth to drink, and it could only be described in one word, that is, "delicious"! After drinking a sip, his lips and teeth were fragrant, and there was a faint sweet taste, and the most important thing was that Lu Yanning even felt that the true qi in his body seemed to be more active after drinking tea.
While drinking tea, Guo Daochang suddenly asked, "Yan Ning, do you know what is the most important thing in cultivation?"
Lu Yanning was a little dazed, shook his head, said that he didn't know, and said, "Please also ask Master for guidance." ”
Guo Daochang smiled and said, "In cultivation, the most important thing is actually to understand and be half-hearted!"
Lu Yanning suspected that he had misheard, and asked, "Master, if you are half-hearted in your cultivation, how can you do it? Shouldn't you be single-minded?"
"Haha, this half-heartedness is not that half-heartedness," Guo Daochang smiled and explained: "The so-called three-hearted mind refers to confidence, perseverance, and ordinary mind, and the so-called two-mindedness refers to human will and providence......
After Guo Daochang's explanation, Lu Yanning understood the Tao here.
In fact, faith also includes three parts, namely: believing in the teacher, believing in the law, and believing in yourself. If you don't believe in the Dharma, you will be skeptical of what the Master is teaching, and it will be very difficult for you to continue your cultivation; if you don't believe in the Fa, you will certainly not be able to devote yourself wholeheartedly to your cultivation, and you will not be able to persevere, and it will not be easy for the results to come out; if you don't believe in yourself, let alone cultivate, you will not be able to succeed in anything, you will always be defeated by yourself, and you will eventually achieve nothing.
Perseverance, when a person begins to cultivate and is taught the true Fa by a true master, but in the process of long-term cultivation, he cannot stand all kinds of temptations from the outside world, or his own inertia is caused by his own inertia, and he is unable to overcome it, he is prone to give up cultivation, covet enjoyment, and indulge in all kinds of desires. If cultivation is not continuous and persistent, then the so-called accumulation is just a joke, and how can it be completed in the end?
When a person has ups and downs for one reason or another, and cannot maintain a normal mind, the mind is easily chaotic. When you have been cultivating for a long time and find that you have not made progress, but others are making rapid progress, if you don't have a normal mind, you will inevitably be disappointed, sad, or even give up; when your cultivation is smooth and your progress and breakthroughs are faster than others, if you don't have a normal mind, you will inevitably develop arrogance and complacency, which will also hinder your cultivation. Even in the process of cultivation, if there is a miraculation, if you don't have a normal mind, you will inevitably feel frightened, joyful, sad, and so on, and immerse yourself in the illusion, and eventually you will be embarrassed to break the illusion and your skills will not be able to further improve.
Without this kind of faith, perseverance, and normality, the so-called spiritual practice is just a joke in the end!
Regarding the "two intentions", Guo Daochang didn't say much, but said: "Human will and providence are just like yin and yang, and nothing can be completed without either." If there is no subjective effort on one's own, even if the great opportunity is in front of us, it will be missed, and if there is no corresponding external environmental influence, one's luck, and so on, it is often difficult to achieve perfection in cultivation. ”
Lu Yanning thought so, and felt that what his master said was really right.
In the end, Guo Daochang sighed: "It is up to people to make things happen, and it is up to heaven to make things happen!" As long as you do your best, the final result will be handed over to the will of heaven, and even if you don't succeed, you won't leave regrets for yourself. ”
Seeing that the master was a little emotional, Lu Yanning was about to say something, but he heard the master say: "Eat moon cakes, drink tea, and admire the moon!"
