Second, although the sound and rhyme of "Candle Dragon" and "Zhurong" are similar, the things of Zhurong contained in the classics and the things of the Candle Dragon mentioned in the above quotation are not related to each other, and the name of "Candle Dragon" is due to the shape of "Bunch of Grass and Trees as Candles", which is purely a matter of course, and the spirit of the candle dragon is different from the fire and candle of plants and trees.

Pangu was born in it, nine changes a day, God in the sky, holy in the earth. The sky is one zhang high, the earth is one zhang thick, and Pangu is one zhang long. "It is said that the heavens and the earth were originally chaotic, and they were opened up by Pangu as heaven and earth. "The vitality of Menghong, the beginning of the sprout, then divide the world, establish the world, enlighten the yin and feel the yang, distribute the vitality, is pregnant and neutralized, and is for people. The first born Pangu, the embodiment of the dying, the air is the wind and clouds, the sound is the thunder, the left eye is the sun, the right eye is the moon, the limbs and five bodies, the four poles and five mountains, the blood is the river, the muscles are the geography, the muscles are the soil, the hair is the stars, the fur is the grass and trees, the teeth and bones are the gold and stone, the essence is the pearl and jade, the sweat is the rain, and the insects of the body are felt by the wind and turned into Li Gang. ”

It is said that all things in the world are transformed by the body of Pangu after his death, "The death of Pangu in the past is also the head of the four mountains, the eyes are the sun and the moon, the fat is the river and the sea, and the hair is grass and trees."

Qin and Han said: The head of the Pangu clan is Dongyue, the abdomen is Zhongyue, the left arm is Nanyue, the right arm is Beiyue, and the foot is Xiyue.

Confucianism said: Pangu's weeping is the river, the air is the wind, the sound is thunder, and the pupils are electricity. The ancient saying: Pangu's joy is sunny, and anger is yin.

Ren Fang was a Liang person in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, and the previous pre-Qin and Qin and Han documents did not mention Pangu when talking about the creation of the world, which shows that the myth of Pangu's creation appeared relatively late. And according to Xu Quan, he quoted "Wu Chujian said", and "there is a Pangu tomb in the South China Sea" and "there is a Pangu temple in Guilin", which shows that the Pangu myth was introduced by the southern ethnic groups in the Wei and Jin dynasties.

The myth of the candle dragon is essentially a description of a kind - a volcanic cone. It was a dragon that burned like a candle of fire. When it burns, it sometimes covers the earth with thick smoke like night, and sometimes it erupts with fire, and it turns night into day. Its body snaws like a long, fiery red dragon winding across the sky. I think the image of the "candle dragon" is the most appropriate to compare to the image of a volcano burning and erupting. Coincidentally, there are more than 20 volcanic cones, but these large cones have ceased to be active 60,000 years ago and have been identified as extinct volcanoes by Longchen geological experts. Therefore, it is difficult to imagine that the scene of the volcanic eruption can be passed down for more than 50,000 years and still remain in the legends of the ancestors, thus forming the myth of the candle dragon. There must have been another reason for the formation of the myth of the candle dragon.

Although the depiction of the candle dragon god is mixed with mythological colors, like many natural myths, most of them were recorded by the ancients based on the phenomena they actually observed, so what kind of natural phenomena is it reflected in the minds of the ancients? If we compare the form of the candle dragon god in ancient books with the diurnal changes that occur in the Arctic Circle, the Northern Lights, etc., we will be surprised to find that the description of the candle dragon god in the ancient books is the most detailed and vivid description of the Northern Lights.

Three years after the publication of Zhang's article, he also proposed that "candle dragon" is "Northern Lights", he said: "The "dragon" in the poem is about the candle dragon, and the same sound of the candle and the candle are fake. And the most noteworthy thing is that the northern cold mountain mentioned here is the feather mountain and the secluded mountain where the candle dragon is located. Qu Yuan said that the scenery of the land is: "ice", "no sun", white sky (snow scene), cold and condensation, is the most "North Pole" of the earth. The last point is worth paying attention to.

"Six dragons at the North Pole. It is also believed that candle dragons exist in the Arctic region. From this point of view, the candle dragon can appear as six bodies at the same time. We know that near the Arctic Circle, day and night are divided into winter and summer. The summer solstice is followed by half a year of daylight, and after the winter solstice is half a year long night. The so-called "country of seclusion" and the so-called "country of long nights and no sun" are the normal phenomenon of winter half a year in the high latitudes of Northeast China, near Siberia and the Arctic Circle. And the "Candle Dragon" is active in such an area. With a little thought, it is not difficult to find the truth of this mystery. It turns out that according to the ancestors, the so-called "candle dragon" is not a biological existence, but a natural phenomenon near the Arctic Circle - aurora.

Three thousand worlds, abbreviated as "worlds". Buddhism says that one day and the moon shine on four heavens, covering the six desires and the first Zen heaven, which is a "small world"; a thousand small worlds covering one or two Zen heavens is a "small thousand worlds"; a thousand small worlds covering one or three Zen heavens are one "middle thousand worlds"; and a thousand middle thousand worlds covering one or four Zen heavens are one "big thousand worlds". There are three kinds of "thousand worlds" in a large world, such as small, medium and large, so it is called three thousand worlds.

A thousand small worlds are called "middle thousand worlds", and a thousand middle thousand worlds are called "big thousand worlds". A great world, because it has a small thousand, a middle thousand, and a large thousand, we call it the "three thousand great worlds", and the three thousand great worlds are the world of a Buddha's land. Three thousand worlds is a big world. Because its structure is from a small thousand, a thousand small thousands are middle thousands, a thousand middle thousands are large thousands, and this three thousand is the structure of its composition, not three thousand in this big world.

The Three Thousand Worlds is the Buddhist cosmology. Three Thousand Worlds: That is, the Great Thousand Worlds, because the three thousand are multiplied, so it is called the Three Thousand Great Thousand Worlds.

Xia Xu said in his heart:

"Tens of billions of Mount Meru, tens of billions of suns and moons, called three thousand worlds. If it is the three thousand worlds of the Ganges River sand in the ten directions, it is called the world of one Buddha, and it is the Buddha of the middle and the Buddha, and the Buddha Shakyamuni. ”

Each small world has the same form, with Mount Meru in the center, through the sea, standing on the earth wheel, under which is the golden wheel, then the water wheel, and then the wind wheel, and beyond the wind wheel is the void. Mount Meru is big up and down, the center is small, the sun and the moon are on the mountainside, the four heavenly kings live on the mountainside on all sides, the heaven is on the top of the mountain, there are night sky, Tushi day, the joy of heaven, and the sky of other people are free in the sky, and then the eighteen days of the color world and the four days of the colorless world. At the root of Mount Meru, there are seven gold mountains, seven perfume seas, surrounded by each heavy sea, a heavy mountain in between, there is an alkali sea outside the seventh gold mountain, and there is a large iron fence mountain outside the alkali sea. There are four major continents in the four directions of the alkaline sea, namely the Dongsheng Shenzhou, the Eastern Holding Kingdom Heavenly King Guardian, the Southern Ganbu Continent, the Southern Growth Heavenly King Guardian, the West Niuhe Continent, the Western Wide-eyed Heavenly King Guardian, and the North Juluzhou North Duowen Heavenly King Guardian, called the Four Heavens, each continent has two middle continents next to each continent, hundreds of small continents and dependents. For example, it is nine mountains and eight seas, one day and one moon, four continents, six desires, and three days of early meditation, which is a small world. Set a thousand small worlds, overlaid with two Zen three days, for a small thousand worlds. Set a thousand small worlds, overlaid with three Zen three days, for a thousand worlds.

It is a collection of a thousand worlds, covered with four meditations and nine heavens, and four empty heavens, which is a great world. Because there are multiples of three thousand in between, the Great Thousand Worlds are also called the Three Thousand Great Thousand Worlds.

Why is this cosmology so different from the model of the universe that we observe? Can the world described in the Buddhist scriptures correspond to our solar system, the Milky Way, the star clusters, and so on?

"Although there are some Buddhist claims about the earth we live on that are not quite the same as those of modern science, it can also explain phenomena such as solar eclipses, lunar eclipses, earth movements, tides, heat and cold, day and night, and so on. Similarly, there are brief or quantitative descriptions of what is the situation around Mount Meru, how the sun and the moon circle around Sumeru, and so on, in the Buddhist scriptures. These are not imaginary things in a vacuum, and they are explained in detail in Buddhist scriptures such as sutras. The calendar used in Tibet is arranged according to the Kalachakra Continuation, which does not use any scientific instruments, but to the great surprise of today's astronomers who have advanced technology, the Kalachakra calendar is not missing one second in calculating astronomical phenomena such as solar and lunar eclipses, which is a great proof that it has included advanced factors.

The system is larger, and the theory is becoming more and more abstract and ethereal, but it always insists that everything has an immutable ontological reality.

Therefore, we also want to have only one practical standard to describe our living environment, and if there are other claims, scientists find it incomprehensible. However, in the Buddhist scriptures, it is not believed that there is an essential fixed body of everything, so it is allowed to have different phenomena to coexist. For example, for a bowl of water that people see together, for hellish sentient beings, because of the manifestation of karma, what they see is hot iron juice, while for hungry ghosts, it is filthy pus and blood, and for heavenly sentient beings, it is nectar like elixir. And if one person thinks a piece of clothing looks good and the other person thinks it looks ugly, if there is absolutely good or bad in the clothes, then there should not be two different perceptions, and so on. According to a great lecture in the Kusha Treatise, the size and shape of the world need not be fixed, but can manifest a variety of images and characteristics depending on the karma of sentient beings. For example, the world described in Kusha is not quite the same as the world described in Kalachakra, and the beings who are the foundation of Kusha may not be able to see the world described in Kalachakra.

Similarly, some sentient beings such as Mount Meru mentioned in the Buddhist scriptures may not be able to see it, but there are also many eminent monks such as the Venerable Pure Light who have seen it with their own eyes.
