Chapter VII: The Hatred of the Past Dynasty
Wang Xinghui pushed open the firewood door, and the thatch on the roof fluttered down. After the dust, I saw that the tables and chairs in the hermitage were complete, and there was a table in front of it, on which were stacked seven or eight stacks of yellow paper, and the yellow paper seemed to be densely filled with words; an inkstone, the ink had dried early, and a pen was leaning on it; on the right side of the table, there was a piece of yellow paper pressed under a stone town, and there were also words written on it, he slowly approached, picked up the yellow paper, and a beam of moonlight on the top of the hermitage slanted down, and he could see clearly, the yellow paper read:
Throwing whales and snorting self-restraint,
Drifting book sword and lonely march,
The ghost lamp is not human,
The mountain city is like a city of nothingness,
Dawn fog but sorrowful mirage,
When the night tide repeats the sound of the rooster,
Scholars are still in the world,
Tired of leaning on the canopy window and dreaming of peace,
Sadly, today I think that the lamp has run out, and the canopy has been floating for 30 years, and I can't comfort me in the end!
Wang Xinghui didn't understand the meaning, put the paper back on the table, and saw a chair in front of him move diagonally, and there was a small door in the right corner, he stretched out his hand to push it open, it turned out that there was another small bedroom inside, there was a wooden bed in the bedroom, the bed was covered with a quilt full of dust, the quilt was uneven, there seemed to be something below, the head of the bed revealed a dark and heavy section, his heart tightened, suddenly a spirit, goosebumps all over his body, and immediately felt that the four heavy weights around him were invaded by cold, staring at it, it was indeed a skeleton corpse that had accumulated dust。 Wang Xinghui took a while before he came to his senses, he looked around, there was no other furnishings in the room except this bed, this skeleton was lying quietly on the bed, and he didn't know how many years had passed like this.
He thought about it a little, and his fear slowly disappeared, and he vaguely felt sad: judging from the words on the paper, there lived a high-spirited swordsman, and later "floated the sword and was alone", but he didn't expect that after thirty years, he finally became old and weak, and this poem must have been his last pen when he felt that his life was approaching.
Wang Xinghui memorized the words on the paper several times, and his heart suddenly seemed like a mirror, as if the last scene that happened in this room decades ago was vivid: this unknown old man must have finished writing these sixty-four words, knowing that the time limit had come, put the pen on the inkstone, moved the chair, pushed the door into the bedroom, lay on the bed, and passed away suddenly. When he thought of this, he couldn't help but feel sad suddenly, the meaning of the words left by the old man, as if he was because of a very important thing, he could not be relieved, he went away alone, and lived in this hermitage for thirty years, and finally when the old lamp dried up, he finally closed in this deserted place, and only the green lamp, a bald pen, and a stack of yellow paper accompanied him. He moved away from his chair as usual, pushed open the small door, and lay down peacefully on the bed, what was he thinking in his heart? By the way, it is said that when a person reaches the end, his heart is like a mirror, and he said in his last words, "Today I think that the lamp has run out, and the canopy has been floating for 30 years, and I can't be relieved in the end!" Therefore, he is both peaceful and lonely in his heart, but he doesn't know what is hidden in his heart? So that he "has a thousand words, and he can't be relieved in the end."
Wang Xinghui sighed in his heart, how many thousands? This old man has been persistent in such a situation all his life, what kind of faith supports him? It is a pity that time has passed like a white horse, and 30 years of hard work have never been enough for him to let go. He sighed, and saw that the muscles on the face of the corpse were not rotten, the eyes were collapsed, the corners of the mouth were slightly upturned, the face was ** kind, and his hands were held on the lower abdomen. Wang Xing will shed tears unconsciously,
He was born in a poor tenant farmer's family, he had never seen his mother since he was a child, after his sister and father were killed by Hu Guiquan successively, he was alone, fled from society, lived a life of exile, experienced countless tribulations that ordinary people could not imagine, and also created his sensitive and sentimental heart; Huwa and others drove away Hu Guiquan together, seeing that it was no longer a rootless wandering weed, but Du Gang mingled with County Magistrate Li in a blink of an eye, although the alliance with County Magistrate Li was unanimously agreed by everyone, but later the situation on the Tianshan Mountain, and Wang Xinghui expected in his heart, always felt that it was not the same thing, and he was worried that he was thinking too much, and his heart was always depressed. He knelt down in front of the bed and kowtowed respectfully three times.
Wang Xinghui sighed for a while, then walked to the outer hall, and carefully inspected the hermitage, in addition to a few hoes, plows, knives and axes and other farm tools placed in the corner of the door, there is a large vat in the corner of the house, which is covered with several large banana leaves, although it has been stored for I don't know how long, but the mud is put in the broken grass, dry but not cracked, he gently knocked off a corner, uncovered the banana leaves, and suddenly a fragrant and refreshing breath overflowed, it turned out that this was a vat of fine wine.
Wang Xinghui came out of the riverside shop at noon yesterday, followed those thieves all the way, fearful, trembling for a day, and hid in the grass on the top of the mountain all night, at this time he was already hungry and thirsty, he couldn't care about a lot, and hurriedly took down a bamboo straw from the wall, scooped it, and before touching his lips, he already felt refreshing and rich, only gently raised his head, a sweet down his throat, indescribable comfort, and drank a few more times, and all the limbs were happy.
He covered the banana leaves, re-moistened the mud and dressed it so that the smell of wine would not escape, and when he turned around, he saw the chair lying diagonally in the room, as if the person in the seat had just gotten up and left. Wang Xinghui looked at it stupidly, as if he was the owner of this hermitage, unconsciously walked to the chair and sat down, looked at the lines on the yellow paper in a daze, and after a while, he fell asleep deeply.
In his sleep, the experiences of displacement, youth, and other experiences flashed in his mind like a glimpse of light, and he was so sleepy that he didn't know what time it was when he woke up, and it was already dawn outside. He pushed away the firewood, the sun was hot as if it was overhead, he had never felt that the sun was so close to him, as if he had come to another world; the sound of the water flowing under the mountain was endless, and at this time under the bright sun, he saw a big river under the mountain, the angry waves were raging, the muddy water was cross-flowing, the mud and sand were all down, and the momentum was extraordinary!
Wang Xinghui remembered that the friends he met in Hong'an, Hubei Province when he was young talked about the famous scholar Zuo Siyou of the Jin Dynasty who wrote a poem "In the Purple Palace of the Column, Feiyu is like a cloud floating", at this time the sun is shining, and there is a bright and bright world everywhere in the eyes, this is too beautiful the world, too beautiful poetry, too beautiful confidant! Wang Xinghui thought like this, and the wind spit out the turbidity in his stomach, and his chest was full of energy, as if he was going to fly away with the floating clouds and Feng Xu.
He went to the back mountain again to eat the wild fruits all over the mountain, drank fine wine, ate a full meal, and nourished his spirits before he thought of finding a way down the mountain. There was no trace of the path that came up in the dark last night, so he had to slowly find the way down the mountain along the slightly gentle side of the terrain, and walked for about two hours to the riverside, and it was indeed a magnificent river! A huge stone turtle by the river, carrying a stele, on which the stele was obliquely engraved with Lishu:
The red ape is impassable,
Ten search for a strong wood to support the cold sky.
The mighty sea rushes like arrows,
The first line of eternal quicksand.
Who drives the black magpie and the turtle,
The waves swirl back and forth.
Anderson is Yi Geng,
The engraved spirit pottery is not grinding.
On the opposite side of the river, a cliff stands near the river, and the three dark red characters on it can be seen clearly - "Chiyu River"
Wang Xinghui identified the direction and walked more than ten miles west along the river, where the Chiyu River turned south and went away from the direction of the Liantian Mountain. He had no choice but to turn around and go up the river for twenty miles, but the river went north, and the west bank was full of cliffs, and there was no way to go, and there were no bridges or boats on the river. Look at the sky is getting late, he has to go back to the hermitage to live, so look for a few days, this place is a crescent-shaped island surrounded by water on three sides, one side is a cliff, he has nothing to do, fortunately on the hillside peach plum, plantain and other wild fruits are a lot, there is a large vat of wine, he will not starve and freeze, this day Wang Xing will take a stack of yellow paper, take a closer look, the left side of the yellow paper is bound into a book with twine, the workmanship is very rough, it is made of twine dried on the mountain, and then sewn with a branch as a needle through the lead hole. He suddenly became happy, thinking that he would not be able to find a way to leave this isolated island, so he had to find a long rope to climb down from the top of the grotto on the top of the mountain, so that he would definitely find the big river when he came, and then find the Bolu River down the river and return to Liantian Mountain.
He took down the first volume, blew off the dust, and saw the inscription "Liuhe Siege" written on the cover.
Turning a page, it reads: In the second year of Xianfeng, Jinling was trapped and surrounded by Liuhe. Wen Gongshao of Youzhi County is brave and strategic, and the city cannot be broken. The fire was drawn into the city with Kong Ming lanterns, causing the Yingbu Temple to catch fire, and the chieftains were shocked, and the city of Wenden supervised the battle, and refused with bows and arrows, injuring the left arm of the British king. Emirate President Zhang Guoliang led his troops to help, but was injured by the 30th inspection point back to the carbine. Wen was promoted to the rank of Taoist Gabu political envoy, and still has the right to Liuhe County.
It continues to be written on the back: The British king used a counterplot to make Tomin a sooth to impeach Wen Gong's group and plunder, which is no different from a thief. Dismissed from his post and sent to the military station. In the winter of the following year, Liuhe was broken. When I heard about it, I gave Wen to announce the political envoy, and he was brave and brave.
When Wang Xinghui was young, he made good friends from all walks of life, and those friends were some simple men who were enthusiastic and courageous, and were sincere to people. Wang Xinghui himself was a very intelligent person, he wanted to read when he was a child but could not learn, so he later cherished it even more, as the so-called thirst for knowledge, he was often much more industrious than others, and others were very happy to see him make such rapid progress, and slowly he became the most knowledgeable person among his friends. At this time, he read this "Liuhe Siege Record" and knew that it was recorded in the second year of Xianfeng, and in 1956, the Taiping Army broke through the Jiangbei camp.
At that time, the Taiping army set the capital of Jinling, that is, Nanjing, and besieged Liuhe County, Anhui Province, and Wen Gongshao, the county governor, was very strategic, and shot and wounded the left arm of the British king Chen Yucheng, and Chen Yucheng defeated the troops of Zhang Guoliang of the Qing army who came to the rescue, and then became a stalemate. Liuhe County has not been broken for a long time, Chen Yucheng used the anti-plot, pretending to be Zhang Guoliang to write a letter arrow into Liuhe City, appeased Wen Gongshao, and intercepted Wen Gongshao's reply, taken out of context, the words were changed to fly and dominate, and then deliberately let the letter fall into the hands of Zhang Guoliang on the periphery, Zhang Guoliang saw Wen Gongshao inexplicably shot out this letter from the beginning to the end, and his heart was suddenly angry, so he had to repay the commander of the Jiangbei camp, Toamin, who had always been jealous of Wen Gongshao's merits, so he did not distinguish clearly, just took this opportunity to play the imperial court to dismiss him and investigate it, and distribute the military platform, the city was ownerless for a while, and Liuhe City was soon breached。 Later, after the defeat of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, the Qing court found that Chen Yucheng mentioned this matter from a large number of twists and turns seized from Tianjing, and there was a commendation from Hong Xiuquan, saying that the British king's fake enemy removed Chief Wen, killed two birds with one stone, and made great contributions to the siege of Tianjing.
Wang Xinghui finished reading this volume, took down a few more volumes, browsed again, there is a title entitled "Three Kings Fu Zhu Ji", which records the death of Emperor Xianfeng, the Empress Dowager Cixi designed to kill Prince Yi Zaiyuan, Prince Zheng Duanhua, and praised the Minister of State for Xiang Su Shun in Caishikou, which is known as the Xinyou coup in history. There is a title entitled "The Story of the Five Stars and Beads", which is written about the Xianfeng Night Banquet, seeing that there are five stars in the sky, thinking that it is a sign of Zhongxing, and summoning Zeng Guofan, Li Hongzhang, Zuo Zongtang, Zhang Zhidong, and Hu Linyi overnight, and rewarding them with anecdotes. There are also titles entitled "Hefu Investigation and Plagiarism" and "Bombardment of Zeng Greenqin", which probably record some major events that occurred during the Xianfeng and Tongzhi years. Turning to the sixth book, the cover reads: "The Story of the Red Monkey Being Trapped", Wang Xing will see the word "Red Tree", and thought that the river under the mountain is called the Red Tree River, and this volume must be very related to this isolated island, so he couldn't wait to read it. The opening sentence reads:
In February of the second year of Tongzhi, Wang Yongzhong more than 40,000, approaching the Jinsha River from Yunnan, the chieftain Luo Bingzhang flew to Ningyuan Mansion, with Jianchang and Wang Ling, and quickly led the Yi and Han soldiers to intercept bravely, Wang wore armor and swords, bowed down to supervise the battle, from morning to noon, bloody battles several times, camps along the way, all were lost.
Wang Xinghui saw Luo Bingzhang's three words, and immediately remembered the conversation of the gang of bandits in the grotto that day, and his spirit was slightly lifted, and he wanted to know the details, and continued to read the paper that said: ...... The army abandoned the crown of Ningcheng, along the foothills of the foothills, Wang Qi generals said, "Dan feast Zhuqing, hope to fight, there are those who can fight in Hebei, the official is promoted to the rank of the pillar country, the soldier is promoted to the general Cheng, the merit is rewarded according to the gold medal side, and it is difficult not to reach a lonely life." ”...... Wang Xinghui looked at this and already understood that the king mentioned here refers to Shi Dakai, the winged king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and what is written in the text is the deeds of Shi Dakai who led his troops out and went to the Dadu River.
During the Xianfeng period, around 1850 AD, Hong Xiuquan, Yang Xiuqing, Feng Yunshan, Wei Changhui, Shi Dakai and others launched the Jintian Uprising, founded the country with the name of "Taiping Heavenly Kingdom", and fought against the Qing court. Unexpectedly, after the capital of Tianjing, the suspicion between the kings was growing day by day, and Yang Xiuqing, the king of the east, controlled most of the military and political power, and was unstoppable, and the other kings were dissatisfied with it. He often pretends to be in the name of the Heavenly Father and overrides the head of the Heavenly King Hong Xiuquan, which makes Hong Xiuquan very angry.
According to historical records, Hong Xiuquan promulgated the decree several times, but Yang Xiuqing was dissatisfied, so he pretended to be possessed by his father, accused the king of heaven of improperness, ordered the revocation of the holy order, corrected it on the spot, and ordered the king to kneel down and admit his mistake. Because at the beginning of the Taiping Rebellion, Hong Xiuquan claimed to be the son of God under the pretense of God's name, so at this time, in the face of Yang Xiuqing's sudden self-proclaimed "Heavenly Father", he had no power to fight back, only at his mercy, resentment in his heart, but to the point of not killing and incomprehensible. In 1856, Hong Xiuquan secretly ordered Wei Changhui and Shi Dakai to return to Tianjing Qinwang, Wei Changhui and Shi Dakai opened the city gate, Wei Changhui had long been jealous and hateful to Yang Xiuqing, and took this opportunity to surround the Dongwangfu and kill more than 20,000 people in the Dongwangfu. Shi Dakai rushed to stop him, and severely reprimanded Wei Changhui for not killing innocents, and the two parted unhappily. In order to avoid the two from becoming evil, Shi Dakai had to leave Tianjing overnight, but he didn't expect that Wei Changhui at this time was already a wolf's ambition, and he thought that he would simply not do anything, it would be better to take advantage of the fact that the kings were not in the city, kill Hong Xiuquan, and become the leader of the heavenly kingdom himself.
He was afraid of Shi Dakai's bravery, so he first killed Shi Dakai's old and young, and then surrounded the Tianwang Mansion and attacked day and night. At this time, many of the soldiers in the city were already resentful of Wei Changhui's actions, and Shi Dakai issued a crusade against Wei Changhui outside the city, wanting to kill him to thank the world, and the rest did not care about the crime. Wei Changhui was suddenly shaken by the army's heart, and finally everyone rebelled and left, but was beheaded by Hong Xiuquan.
Hong Xiuquan learned the lesson of this incident, thinking that the kings should not be allowed to sit big, and found an excuse to liquidate the Yan King Qin Rigang and Chen Chengying and other generals, so that his younger brother Hong Renxuan controlled the government and restrained Shi Dakai. Shi Dakai was troubled in Tianjing in every way, and he could follow in the footsteps of Qin Rigang and others at any time, in order to protect himself, he had to lead his subordinates to flee, and he fought in various places to deal with the Qing army. Later, because he was outnumbered, he was chased by the Qing army on the bank of the Dadu River, and the whole army was annihilated.
He then read the booklet and wrote...... Hundreds of people who secretly lead the good water are guarded by the iron clothes of the dead soldiers, each holding a short soldier, floating to the other side, it is three drums in the night, and the head of the Yi makes the healthy soldier hold a long lance to lie on the shore, than he is surprised, he wants to float upside down and return, and he is in the cannon stone, and there are only 30 people who return to the shore......
...... Pioneer Jia Weiyang made several wooden boats, the length of the strange Zhang, the night moved to the other side, the ring buckle rock for the pillar, covered with wooden planks, to make a pontoon bridge, the rate of 500 soldiers, the title of the slurry, the ship will reach the other side, suddenly the middle of the ring fold, try to support, the head and tail are difficult to continue, the Russian and the water boat fights, the boat touches the rock and cracks, Weiyang falls into the water and dies......
...... The king used a plan to cut down the enemy, shot the book on the other side, promised a heavy treasure, and the chief refused. The king's sleep and food are all wasted, and the inscription poem is unparalleled on the wall......
What is said here is that Shi Dakai successively ordered the iron-clad dead soldier and the pioneer Jia Weiyang to cross the river by swimming and pontoon bridges, but they all failed. Shi Dakai pretended to promise a lot of money to let the Qing army have a way out, but he was also recognized and refused.
...... It was the queen of the night, Ma, who committed suicide by poisoning, and the soldiers were very hungry, and they were suspicious of having no fighting spirit, so they said, "The plague invades the rain, sleeps and kills nameless, and the war is difficult to send, but what can I do," the king couldn't answer...... It was said that the soldiers began to question Shi Dakai: "Now that I am sick and wounded, rainy, hungry and cold, and I am unable to fight again, and no one will be spared if I continue to fight, what should I do?" Shi Dakai couldn't answer.
Continue below: ...... At noon on the same day, the king led the people to walk along the east of the river, the chief pursued along the north bank, shot it with muskets, the Yi thief Chang Yingyuan and Tang Liangru from the top of the mountain with wood and stone, the Yunnan chief Guiliang, Wang Fushen and so on led the army to chase after the tail, the face was subjected to the enemy, the people who fell into the rock and died in the water were numerous, the southwest and north sides were three sides, all were difficult to pass, but the east could be walked, the road was extremely dangerous and narrow, the cliff was towering to the sky when looking up, and the river water was rushing when it was leaning down...... As mentioned in the article, Shi Dakai was facing the enemy on the bank of the Dadu River, and there was only one dangerous road to the east, and the situation was very critical.
In the text, it is written: ...... In the darkness of the night, heavy rain fell from the sky, the chieftains retreated slightly, and the old crows of the army were whirlpooled, and there were 5,000 people left, all of whom were wounded and hungry. Foraging for food yields nothing, and there are those who kill and devour human flesh, and the king cannot forbid it. And when he heard the remnants weeping, he sighed and said, "Lonely Chou used to conquer the city, and there was no disadvantage in the war, but now he is in danger by mistake, and he is in a state of collapse. "Words and weeps are intertwined, and they are crying left and right......
Wang Xinghui thought to himself that Shi Dakai was a hero, but there was no way to go to the sky, there was no way to enter the ground, and he was alone for thousands of miles, although the rescuers had no hope, according to what was written, the soldiers were so hungry that they wanted to kill each other and eat meat, and it rained heavily, everyone was injured, and the enemy was besieged on three sides, with cliffs towering to the sky, and surging and angry waves below. The sadness of its hero's end, decades later, still makes people sigh and cry.
The text continues to write...... Wang Zhi was defeated, looked around the princess, fearing that he would be humiliated by the chief, but he threw himself into the river with sorrow. (Shi Dakai knew that the defeat was only in the moment, and he was afraid that the princess would be humiliated after death, so he endured the pain and threw them into the river.) )
...... As for the fourteenth Wang Niang Liu, the king wanted to push it with his hand, and the Liu family knelt down and cried, "The concubine is not sorry to die, and the concubine has a time to store the stone and set the foundation, and there is a strange omen in the first life, and the day after tomorrow will be prosperous, and he will be able to avenge his father." This age is still young, and when the mother dies, the son will be sent, begging for rest, and bowing to this heir. (When it came to the fourteenth princess Liu, Shi Dakai wanted to push her down the river with his hand, and the Liu family knelt down and cried: "It's not that I am reluctant to die, but I now have a second son, Shi Dingji, who had a strange omen when he was born, and he will be able to restore the great cause and avenge his father in the future." Now he is still young, and if I die, I am afraid he will have nothing to hope for, so I beg to spare a breath and raise him to adulthood, in order to avenge you in the future. ”)
...... Wang Da mourned and said: "The concubine is willing to learn from Zhao Shuo's wife, but unfortunately there is no Cheng Ying, I am afraid it will be difficult to protect it!" [Shi Dakai said sadly: "You are willing to learn from the wife of the ancients Zhao Shuo, but there is no one who sacrifices his life to save your blood and blood like Chen Ying!" (See allusion to Zhao's orphans. )]
...... Before the words were finished, Li Xihua, the gold-armored guard, said, "The pawn is not sensitive, I am willing to protect Liu Niang and the young prince from escaping, but fortunately, the victory will leave the king's blood in order to recover, and if you don't win, you will go to the other side of the clear stream, and you will not be humiliated by the axe." (Before he finished speaking, Li Xihua, the golden-armored guard, said that he was willing to protect Concubine Liu and the prince from escaping, and if he was fortunate enough to keep the king's blood and bones, he would be sure to restore his great cause in the future; if we unfortunately fell into the hands of the enemy, we would definitely throw ourselves into the river and die, and we would never be insulted by the enemy and disgrace the king.) )
...... The king thanked him, called into the account, asked two or three things, and handed over Concubine Liu's hair to Xihua, who took his son and his mother, and led eighteen soldiers, all wearing Zi clothes, and braved the rain to go to the mountains.
...... The sky will dawn, the enemy divides the way prominently, its line is like flying, the front can not be controlled, to the peace, countless casualties, the king has no choice but to surrender, in order to live the lives of the people, the chief allowed it to surrender. On the 27th, King Xie was killed in Chengdu, and 2,000 soldiers were killed in Dashubao.
Wang Xinghui finished reading this chapter of "The Story of the Red Monkey Being Trapped", and he sighed with emotion in his heart. Since the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom revolted in Jintian, Guangxi in 1851, it captured Nanjing in less than three years, and the founding of the country was known as the great unification, and the prestige was great, comparable to the peasant uprisings such as Huangchao Li Chuang, but Wang Xinghui was in the era around 1925, the authorities of the Republic of China saw that the world was decided, knew that the momentum of the revolution could destroy the withering and decaying, and was eager to enjoy the fruits of victory, unwilling to face up to their own shortcomings, afraid that they would become the object of the revolution in the future, so they immediately changed hands and began to eliminate dissidents, wantonly slander and suppress the revolution, and the communists and other allies in the revolutionary ranks were often criticized。
As mentioned above, the National Revolution was a revolution of a small number of bourgeoisie in the face of the feudal dynasty, and although the thousand-year-old feudal system was thrown into the garbage heap of history, it could never represent the interests of the broad masses of proletarian peasants, so the authorities regarded the Communist Party representing the proletariat as a serious danger The Taiping Rebellion had just passed a few decades, and it seemed to be yesterday in the long river of history, and of course it became the best target for them to criticize Sang and scold Huai.
Wang Xinghui read the anonymous old man's book "The Story of the Red Lady Trapped", which objectively described the deeds of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, which was rare at that time, and the reason for this was that the slander of the Qing court and the smear of the Republic of China occupied a great factor.
It must be known that since the Qing court entered the customs for more than 200 years, the children of the Eight Banners who rode on horses and galloped the world became nobles, and they were passed down from generation to generation to the Xianfeng period, and the descendants had already abandoned the attributes of riding horses and archery, being brave and good at war, and would only smoke opium and greed for pleasure all day long. Since the defeat of the Opium War, in order to pay huge war reparations, the Qing court increased taxes and stepped up the looting of the people. After the fall of Tianjing in 1864, the Taiping army south of the Yangtze River was still divided into pieces and joined various secret anti-Qing groups among the people, and the Western Route Army led by Shi Dakai moved to the southwestern provinces and persisted for eight years, which brought great trouble to the Qing court.
The Qing court hated the Taiping Rebellion to the core, believing that the country's strength had declined and had been in decline ever since, and that it had to rely on Han ministers such as Zeng Guofan and Li Hongzhang, was caused by this 30-year rebellion. Later, all the important documents left behind by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom were destroyed, and all the important reform ideas were discarded, including many excellent systems and systems, such as the "New Chapter of the Capital Administration," China's first political program with the will to develop capitalism, and the "Heavenly Dynasty Tianmu System," which embodied the interests of the peasant class, as well as various diplomatic education rhetoric and regulations; and they distorted the facts in the historical books compiled and revised afterwards, and did their best to slander and slander the peasant uprising, which had a great impact on later generations.
In the early days of the National Revolution, the revolutionaries still took the capitalist revolution as their program and regarded the Taiping Revolution as the forerunner, and Mr. Sun even considered himself "Hong Xiuquan second", but after the general trend was initially decided, the authorities dug up the views of the Manchus to slander and resist the revolution, and exaggerated them to conceal the Communists and prevent the proletarian revolution. At that time, newspapers and books contained articles on the peasant uprising that had no legitimacy and were full of bad roots. At that time, the theory about Shi Dakai circulating in the society was that he divided his troops in Tianjing and killed each other; it was also said that he was brutal and bloodthirsty, and that all the officials, merchants, and good people were slaughtered everywhere he went; it is also said that he killed people and salted meat as food and wages on the way to the west, and after the defeat of the Dadu River, he waged his tail and begged for his life, without any discipline.
The academic giant Hu Shizhi was already famous all over the world at that time, and Wang Xinghui had already heard of his views, and he believed that the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was a low-level superstition, an absolutely violent group, a theocratic, totalitarian, and ignorant rule, only to satisfy his infinite desires, without any regard for the welfare of the public, and caused a catastrophe and tragedy all over the field and thorns. This viewpoint was greatly appreciated by the authorities of the Republic of China.
Wang Xinghui saw this "Red Bundle Record", which records that Shi Dakai hoped to surrender in exchange for the lives of his subordinates in exchange for surrender in the case of embattlement. The image of totalitarian ignorance is very different, this nameless old man has a great background, he lived in seclusion here for 30 years, the book is not finished and the body is gone, originally these manuscripts written on yellow paper have not been read again, at that time by chance was actually read by Wang Xinghui, this belongs to the first appearance of this article.
Wang Xing will be infected by these books, as if opening the door of knowledge that he has never been in contact with, he read with great interest, and read a few more books in one breath that day, the more he read, the more surprised he became, he simply opened all the books one by one and quickly browsed, after browsing, his heart was even more secretly shocked!
It turns out that among these yellow paper booklets, there are not only all kinds of rules and regulations for governing the country, but also all kinds of techniques for marching and fighting and arranging formations, and there are also officials and coastal defense, the current situation of the people's livelihood, and even agriculture, forestry and mining, textile manufacturing, new chapters of Zhuzi, poems and songs, and so on! Moreover, they are all sincere and rigorously written, and they do not look like exaggerated and forged works to read, and there are more than a dozen foreign characters, sprinkled with foreign characters, I don't know what the content is, Wang Xing will be amazed, I don't know what kind of strange person made it.
In the articles he wrote, he not only knew the affairs of the Qing court well, but also knew a lot about the defense of Sichuan and Yunnan, the customs of Yi and Miao, and also told the story of Shi Da's opening of the army.
Wang Xinghui suddenly thought that whenever he wrote about the Qing soldiers, he would inevitably use the word "chief" instead; when he wrote about the local Tusi in Sichuan, he used the words "Yi Shou" and "Yi bandits"; and when he wrote about Shi Dakai, he used the word "Wang" to refer to him, so it can be seen that this old man was probably an important figure in Shi Dakai's army and a Han Chinese. This old man's insight is really not under Kang, Liang and other famous masters at the time, and there is no disrespect for Shi Dakai in his words, and between the lines, it is full of admiration, which shows that Shi Dakai is at least a heroic and upright hero.
Wang Xinghui was reading with great interest at this time, and that night he saw the sun sinking in the west, so he spread some firewood and grass in the hermitage and slept on the ground, and the next morning, after eating wild fruit wine, he sat down at the table again, and couldn't wait to take down a booklet, and saw that it was written "Ten Perfections of Martial Arts".
