Chapter 4: Killing a Thousand Snakes
There were also many snakes in the big stone chamber, and those snakes seemed to emerge in an endless stream, and there were too many to count.
Xu Dong simply took the initiative to attack, holding an ice blade in each hand, aiming at those snake bodies and slashing hard.
In less than an hour, Xu Dong slashed and killed more than a thousand snakes.
As before, he threw piles of snake corpses into the fire chamber.
After taking care of everything, Xu Dong gasped for a while, calmly walked in front of the old man, and prepared to formally apprentice.
"Old man, I have withstood the test of the icebergs of the sea of fire and the thousand snakes, now you should take me as an apprentice, right?"
He prostrated himself on the ground, bowed solemnly, and then knocked his forehead to the carpet, and kowtowed three times in a row.
"Master, disciple Xu Dong will give you three kowtows and six bows, and in the future, I will rely on Master to teach the disciple carefully!"
But the old man didn't say a word, and he didn't forgive Xu Dong.
Xu Dong especially understands that these half-way immortal masters have a big appetite, and he has learned it when he entered the Linggu Gate.
I remember that when he apprenticed at Linggumen, he had finished the ceremony for a long time, but the master just didn't say anything, and pretended to be asleep and snored.
There are rules for apprenticeship, and if the master doesn't open his mouth to let you get up, you have to kneel obediently.
If you get up without permission, he will send you away with a sentence of "Don't respect the teacher!" and you will be blinded by this apprentice.
The reason why the master puts the taste so full is to warn you to follow the teacher's instructions carefully in the future, and you must not disobey the master.
Xu Dong knelt for almost an hour, but the old man still didn't react, he felt that something was wrong, afraid that the old man was really asleep.
It's even worse if that's the case.
He had a fellow disciple, and when he was apprenticed, the master fell asleep, and he knelt for three hours before the master woke up slowly.
The current Xu Dong is more active than before, and he has to think of a way to wake up the old man.
With a twist of his eyes, he found a stone on the ground, picked it up and smashed it at the book in the old man's hand.
He thought that even if the old man woke up and found that he had done it, he would at most be naughty.
Unexpectedly, his strength was a little stronger, and the old man leaned back, "Whoa!", and the book he opened in his hand was torn in half.
Obviously, the joke is a bit too big.
He ran forward like a catapult, to help the old man up as soon as possible, and sincerely compensate the old man.
"Master, it's not good to be an apprentice, and an apprentice shouldn't be ......"
He swallowed it back before he finished speaking, as if he had eaten a worm, and his throat was extremely uncomfortable.
It turned out that the old man had already passed away, but it was just a corpse, and on the old man's scalp, there were maggots arching back and forth.
A bout of nausea made Xu Dong vomit.
Things have come to this, and he has no choice but to think about cleaning up the mess.
First of all, he had to bury the old man's body, not to mention occupying the old man's cave, and he had to do it out of humanity.
The old man's body was scattered, and it was already difficult to move the whole thing, so he thought of burying it on the spot.
He lifted the corner of the carpet, which frightened him even more.
Under the carpet, pressed layer by layer, are the bones of the dead, which can be described as a mountain of corpses and a sea of bones, I am afraid that there are thousands of skeletons in total.
These are the bones of the practitioners of the previous generations.
These cultivators entered the Bigu Lotus Cave, thinking that they could become immortals, but they did not expect to end up dead in the cave.
For a moment, Xu Dong shook his cultivation ambition and wanted to leave the Lotus Cave as soon as possible.
But this lotus cave, he didn't just go out if he wanted to, he had to be brave enough to continue to stay.
He buried the old man's bones and covered the carpet again.
picked up the book left by the old man and looked at the cover of the book, which had the words "Lotus Cave Immortal Records" on it.
On the torn page of this "Lotus Cave Immortal Record", the words "out of the body" are printed, which shows that the old man died when he cultivated to the out-of-body realm.
On the path of cultivation, a thousand white bones can hold up a golden body, and ten thousand souls can only fly up when they are out of the body.
There was a person who became an immortal, and this person stepped on the ladder of 10,000 people to climb up.
There are thousands of cultivators in the world, who can say for sure that they are not the first level of this 10,000-person ladder?
Xu Dong put away this fragment, strengthened his Taoist will, and decided to start from scratch as the book said.
It should be explained that this Xu Dong did not read much, and it was impossible to recognize all the words on the fragment, all of which were borrowed from the ink in the belly of the Confucian scholar Xu Dong.
Xu Dong began to practice with his body straight, his spine not bent, and his hands held under his abdomen.
Then close your eyes slightly, fall into silence, do not think, do not look, do not listen, do not move, your tongue against the palate, and swallow slowly when your mouth is full.
The breath gradually reaches a deep length from slow and soft, like a turtle's breath.
After a while, there was a feeling of sinking breath, and the qi ran through the dantian...... The lower dantian is pneumatic, and then it begins to circulate between the two veins of the governor.
After doing two small Zhou Tian cycles in a row, he used internal vision to take a look, and the wisps of spiritual power in the dantian were clearly visible, and the number of spiritual power rose to fifty-five wisps.
"Lotus Cave Immortal Records" is divided into multiple volumes, including the Law Sutra, the Body Sutra, the Sutra of Cultivation, the Martial Sutra, the Medicinal Sutra and other parts.
The Dharma Sutra part has divisions such as Dharma gates, Dharma weapons, and spells.
In addition to affirming the rules and rules of the cave, the "Dharma" is to teach some basic processes of cultivation.
Xu Dong read these processes, and like the Linggu Gate, they are divided into nine realms: mortal fetus, foundation building, knotting, yuanying, distraction, out-of-body, merger, Dacheng, and crossing.
The Lotus Cave divides the realm into three stages: upper, middle and lower.
The next stage is the five-step ladder of mortal fetus, foundation building, knotting, Yuanying, and distraction; in the middle stage, there are three steps of out-of-body, merger, and Dacheng; and in the upper stage, there is a one-step step of crossing the tribulation.
It is recorded in the book that the first and seventh two cave masters successfully crossed the tribulation and ascended, and three people practiced to the Dacheng realm, and the remaining five people stopped at the realm of Yuan Infant, distraction, and out-of-body realm.
This is, of course, the record before the book "Lotus Cave Immortal Records" was written.
Xu Dong turned the book back, and the spell division was divided into volumes such as stealth, escape, divine travel, array, talisman, and spirit formula.
There are chapters in the escape volume, such as piercing the wall, water escape, earth escape, hanging in the air, and transformation.
Although Xu Dong was interested in the Dharma Sutra, the Martial Sutra, the Medicine Sutra, etc., and felt that the Body Sutra was boring, he could not practice according to his interest.
If you want to practice, you must first know yourself and understand your innate Dao foundation.
He opened the body scripture section and found the spiritual root branch, and explained the word "spiritual root" in detail in the book.
"Spiritual root", like the dantian, is a practitioner must have, and a person who does not have a dantian cannot practice because he does not have a place to store his true qi.
In the same way, if a person does not have a "spiritual root", he will not be able to sense the aura of heaven and earth, and it is impossible to cultivate mana at all.
There are not many people who don't have dantian, and only one or two out of a hundred people may be singled out, but the people who don't have "spiritual roots" are gone, and only a few percent have spiritual roots.
It is not that people who have "spiritual roots" must make a difference, because there are many types of "spiritual roots".
