In another month is the Vulcan Festival, the Vulcan God, that is, Zhu Rongsui people, the Vulcan Festival, as the name suggests, is to worship the Vulcan God who brings fire to mankind.
The Vulcan Festival is one of the most important festivals of the Zhou Dynasty and one of the most important festivals of the entire Chinese nation.
Here's a little more... Zhurong is not a name.
Zhu Rong is the name of the first Xia official Huozheng in ancient times... Later generations also used Zhu Rong to call Huozheng.
"Records of the Gods of Kyushu" recorded: "Suiren is "Xia Guan Zhurong". This sentence clearly tells us that Zhu Rong is Xia Guan, that is, Huozheng's official name. In addition to the "Records of the Gods of Kyushu", the "Gao Gu Shu" also has a record that Zhu Rong is the official name of Xia officials. "The Twenty-Ninth Year of King Wu" said: "Mu Zheng said Jumang, Huo Zheng said Zhu Rong, Jin Zheng said Harvest, Water Zheng said Xuanming, and Tu Zheng said Hou Tu." The wood mentioned in it is the spring official, the fire is the summer official, the gold is the autumn official, and the water is the winter official. Therefore, the fire mentioned in "Gao Gu" is called Zhu Rong, which means that the official name of Xia Guan is Zhu Rong.
"Records of the Gods of Kyushu" said: The Suiren lived in the fire, and they were ordered to say Zhu Rong.
Suiren, a native of the ancient Suiming country. The surname of the wind is Yunwan. Huaxia people. The Suiren clan drilled wood to make fire, became the inventor of artificial fire, and taught people to cook. Later, the legend about his people intensified, and the Suiren became the ancient emperor in myths and legends.
The god of fire lived in the Guangming Palace in Kunlun Mountain, and it was he who passed down the fire and taught humans how to use fire. There are also books that call it Zhu Chi, which is the abbreviation of Zhu Rong and the Red Emperor. In fact, Zhu Rong and the Red Emperor are the same person, Zhu Rong was originally the god of fire, and once there is a fire today, people still think that Zhu Rongjun is coming.
As fire becomes more and more important in human life, more and more legends have been derived from its origins.
Legend 1: Zhu Rong is the emperor of China. He used fire to transform and was called the Red Emperor. According to legend, Zhu Rong is also a musician, he often plays melodious and touching music on the high mountains, so that the people of Li are invigorated, emotional, and full of love for life. After Zhu Rong died, he was buried in the sun of Hengshan in Nanyue, and the descendants called the highest peak of Nanyue as Zhu Rong Peak in order to commemorate him.
Legend 2: During the reign of the ancient emperor Yu (kuyinku), there was a man named Chongli, who was the son of Zhuan, and his official position was "Huozheng", that is, fire official. Chongli was loyal to his duties, worked hard to serve the emperor and the vast number of Li people, and was meritorious as a fire officer, so the emperor gave him the title of "Zhu Rong". "Zhu" means forever and continuously, and "Rong" is a symbol of light, that is, I hope that Chongli will continue to shine on the earth with fire and bring light to people forever. After Zhu Rong died, he was buried in the south peak of the Shun Temple of Hengshan in Nanyue, which is now under the Zhu Rong Peak.
Legend 3: During the period of the Yellow Emperor, the Yellow Emperor toured the south and couldn't tell the direction, so he asked "Zhu Rong to distinguish the south", that is, it should be said that the Nanyue of Hengyang was first identified by Zhu Rong, so he took the position of Situ. Later, Zhu Rong was sealed as Chu and became the ancestor of the Chu people. There is also a Zhurong hall on the top of Zhurong Peak in Nanyue of Hengyang today, there is a stone railing built on the rock behind the palace, you can look at the scenery of the North Mountain by the railing. The ancients believed that the south belongs to fire, and fire is a symbol of light, and the origin of fire is in water, so Zhu fuses water and fire into one god, and conforms to the hexagram that "≡" belongs to fire and is located in the south in the gossip of King Wen of Zhou.
Legend 4: During the period of Emperor Yao, the flood was monstrous, the mountains were soaked and the tombs were destroyed, and the people of Li lived in dire straits. Emperor Yao ordered Kun (personal name) to control the flood, but nine years passed without success. Later, Kun learned that there was a treasure in the sky called "Xiyang", and as long as he threw a little bit of it into the earth, it would immediately grow, accumulate into mountains, and pile up into embankments, so Kun found a way to go to the sky and steal Xiyang to the world. Plugging the flood with it, the earth finally lost sight of the flood. However, God knew that the soil had been stolen, so he sent the god of fire, Zhu Rong, to kill Kun in the area of Hayama and recapture the rest of the soil. God also ordered Zhu Rong to monitor the water control in the world, and ordered him to be in charge of the power of one side of the water. Since Zhurong is the god of the south, he is one god of water and fire, and he is also the god of the South China Sea.
Worshipping the god of fire is not only a symbol of gratitude to the god of fire and the worship of fire, but also a symbol of the passing of summer time, when the god of fire brings away the heat of the harvest in July, so as to look forward to the healthy growth and harvest of crops.
The whole world is preparing for the Vulcan Festival, and Fufeng is certainly no exception.
Suiren temple fairs, witch dance sacrifices, a large number of sacrifices (sacrifice originally meant sacrifices), pigs, sheep, and cattle as the main three animals, as grains of wheat, millet, hub, etc., were transported into Fengxiang from all over the country in large quantities... The ban on meat (farming animals such as cattle cannot be considered meat) will also be opened during this period.
People are so immersed in the joy of the holiday season and their vision of the future that they don't notice the crisis looming.
