After writing for so long and the book yielding few results, let's talk about this taboo topic in the minds of the author and readers. Because this is a question worth pondering.
This is a question that has been discussed with the authors in the group.
In the beginning, we read it with a sense of amazement. The first to construct the prototype of the concept of flood famine should be the book of Buddhism. But the first to propose crossing the torrent was another book - "Immortal Road Thick Black Record". These two books laid the foundation for the torrent.
In the beginning, the system of the Flood Stream was amazing because it built a coherent system for the chaotic system of Chinese mythology. From the perspective of world view, the system of the flood world is very tight, with levels of strength, ins and outs, unique cultural backgrounds, and several extremely important characters with distinct personalities. Such a system should be easily popular. As soon as the concept of flood appeared, it just met the needs of building an oriental mythological system, making "Buddha is the Tao" a god in one fell swoop.
When you look at it at that time, the whole torrent is very attractive. But now, why has the torrent inevitably declined? Why has it declined to this point? Has it not developed in the slightest bit to the present day? Is it a pool of stagnant water?
Neither is it. Early Flood Currents did make explorations, such as the Forceful Path, and these paths proved to be failures. (Here's a word, with strength, what you get is absolute strength, the protagonist is invincible, and it's time for this article to end.) Over the years, a large number of works have groped a relatively stable path and filled the gaps in "Buddha is the Way".
In terms of setting, the Holy Throne of Zixiao Palace, Emperor Jun Palm Heavenly Court, Terran Merit, and so on have been added. In terms of content, it makes up for the blank story line during the flood period, adds the story of Rahu and the battle of the dragon and phoenix, and enriches the plot of the rise of the human race. From the point of view, there are saint levels, witch clans, demon clans, flood power, some people explain the disciples of the three sects, there are original characters, and a variety of perspectives interpret the story of the flood wilderness. The torrent was originally a fire potential.
The authors write about the flood from all sides. Compared with the period of "Buddha is the Way", the current flood has already changed greatly. But why is the torrent still in decline?
In my opinion, there is a reason for this. Because this worldview seems to be a bit overdone.
How to put it, it is so perfect that there is no room for later authors to play. I've read a lot of texts, and I always have a sense of uniformity. There must be three emperors and five emperors, there must be a lich war, and there must be a Zixiao Palace to grab a futon...... It felt so boring. How could readers love to watch it!
But if you don't write this, the reader will accuse you of not writing a torrent. Some authors started with the battle of the lich, and they were actually questioned: What about Rahu, what about the battle of the dragon and phoenix? Not to mention that these two were originally added by the later author. Even if it was originally written by Dream into the Divine Machine and Xue Feng, do you have to write it?(This point was also explored when I was writing.) But even I was inevitably influenced by the traditional Honghuang writing, and I couldn't write new ideas. )
The book "Buddha is the Way", which originally put forward the concept of the flood and wilderness, leaves too little room for us authors, and we can only explore where it is vague. As a result, the flood flow system is so perfect that there is little room for it. It's not so much a genre as it is a lot of fandom. It is also a genre, and there is no such problem with mortal flow and infinite flow.
Why?
Because their two schools do not have such a deadly worldview as the torrent, they only have some core elements. Mortals have core settings such as spiritual roots, spirit stones, and waste wood counterattacks. The core element of the infinite flow is the main god space and infinite traversal.
But Torrent is different, and you can't extract a core setting. When you add the label of 'Torrent' to yourself, it not only means that your story must have elements such as mixed sages and lich clans, but also a long history from the beginning of the world to the lich and then to the journey to the west.
In other words, the degree of completion of the flood is too high, and the openness is not enough. A system that is not open enough is destined to make this genre gradually decline. Because in this, many elements have been confined to death.
No, it's not that the Buddha is not written well or anything, but this book integrates a lot of classical mythological elements, based on the Romance of the Gods, and integrates Journey to the West, the Legend of the White Snake, the Legend of the Swordsman of Shushan and many miscellaneous myths and legends, the whole system is strict and self-consistent, and the setting of the saint makes it very difficult for the author to change the world when he writes the book.
That's it, but there's nothing wrong with that. At best, the torrent is a bit unworthy of the name.,It's just a series of fandom.
However, when expansion becomes a vulgar routine, this expansion loses its vitality. There may be too few places to expand, and every time someone opens up an angle, everyone rushes up like thousands of troops walking on a single-plank bridge. The result? It became a raven full of loopholes
There are also drawbacks in the strength setting of the torrent, which is also too stiff. Hongjun plus a few saints is over. And the number of saints is so small, and the sanctification is concentrated in the period of the Lich Tribulation. From the point of view of the whole torrent, the time is too short. Three Emperors and Five Emperors, Fengshen, Journey to the West, there are at least three major plots to go. In other words, the protagonist reached the peak of his strength in the first half of the story, so how can this story be told? How can he be upgraded? Moreover, the enemies of the saint are only the saint, and those who are qualified to be villains are counted and counted, and there are only a few old acquaintances who are lackluster. (Even if you add more, it's just those people)
Therefore, many authors try to add many realms above the saint level, so that the protagonist can continue to upgrade, this direction may be novel at first, but later, it has become a vulgar routine.
When I first wrote the flood wilderness essay, I actually couldn't see the vulgar flood flow routine essay today, and I wanted to write an ancient flood myth in my mind. But now that he has written, the author has gradually felt his own shortcomings. Because, the system of Hong Huangwen, with its huge world view and the number of characters that appear, is very difficult to control.
And the author also felt that at the beginning of writing the article, he had already made a mistake. The core of the other Honghuang texts, with the disciples of the Interception Sect as the protagonists, is to rescue the Interception Sect in the gods, and with someone in the two races of the Lich as the protagonist, it must be biased towards a certain race. However, when the author chose the core theme of this article, he chose to use the timeline as the main line. It's not bad, but I made the mistake of choosing a time-traveling protagonist. It's not bad, but it's based on the timeline, and it should be best suited to a group drama. But I chose to do it as a time-traveling protagonist.
The main line of the timeline is that it is 'in line with history', and with each 'historical figure' as the protagonist, this 'history' can be better explained. Forcibly add a protagonist who doesn't exist in history.,If you don't have a good pen.,You can't control this protagonist and the timeline as the main line.。 This is the author's biggest failure.
Having said so much, it is actually the confusion in the author's heart. The recession of the work, and at the same time the failure to construct the myth of the flood in my mind, made me not know how to write it!
At the beginning, the editor advised me to "forcibly end this article, or get rid of it, and go back to some Shushan Homo", which is to see my pen power, and I can't control this article that looks grand at first glance, but it is a great test of pen power. (Because the main line was chosen wrong)
From this point on, I should have listened to the editor-in-charge. But at that time, I was unwilling and wanted to try, but in the end, the reality was my failure.
I am very unwilling to waste this hard work in vain, and I will not fall into this article in the next article, and I will continue to write it. I will reimagine the plot according to this main line and write it until the end.
But now, I'm starting to think about a new book. The new book should be original, and I won't write this kind of text that is grandiose from the beginning and difficult to control because I chose the wrong main line.
