Chapter 135: True Cultivation
In the Purgatory Cave Heaven, Yu Zhenyi came to the next place.
Here, the blood-colored full moon seemed to disappear, and he saw the heavens and the earth as they were.
There is nothing in heaven and earth that is immutable. They can be spawned, they can be destroyed, and they can be regenerated. The same is true of heaven and earth. As for the root of heaven and earth, it is written in the Taoist book as follows:
Heaven and earth are created and destroyed. If it becomes bad once, it is called a catastrophe.
At the end of the catastrophe, heaven and earth are all together, and the whole world is chaos. It will not be until the next eons begin that the heavens, the earth, the sun, the moon, and the stars will reappear. How long the tribulation will take, only the immortals know, because like the Yuan Shi Tianzun and other Daluo immortals, can transcend the calamity and live forever. I don't know how many eons have passed in the present universe. The Great Tribulation has Longhan, Yankang, Chiming, etc., and the Tin Tribulation has Kaihuang, Shanghuang and so on.
So far, it has been slim, and hundreds of millions of eons have passed.
It is said that the Yankang Tribulation has ended, the Chiming Tribulation has not yet begun, the world is a chaotic piece, there is no sound, there is no light, there is not even a shadow in the entire void, it is impossible to say where it is up and where it is down, only the chaotic Dao Qi is permeated, infinite and endless. Even the Origin Heavenly Venerable could only wait in the dark. The calamities of heaven and earth are all the result of the natural evolution of Dao Qi, and if the time for evolution is not enough, no one can let heaven and earth open up.
Suddenly, that qi flowed and formed a divine book in the void. The divine books are all composed of Fu Yu. Each of them is one foot wide, with eight horns, and each corner has a faint light hanging down.
As soon as the Yuan Shi Tianzun who lived in the Great Luo Heaven saw this rune book appear, he knew that the new Chiming Tribulation was about to begin, so he hurriedly took down this rune book and divided it into five chapters, and put it in the divine fire of the Flowing Fire Court to exercise. With this refinement, the rune book immediately glowed with red light, illuminating the entire void at once. Yuan Shi Tianzun placed these five divine books in five directions. They are the roots and seedlings of heaven and earth.
As soon as the light of the divine book shone, the void shimmered, and it turned out that the sun, moon, and stars were all born. Three lights shine, and the universe asks for a piece of light. The light of the divine book flowed in all directions.
The Dao Qi of the eight directions condensed and turned into one after another, and there were four layers in one direction of the Heavenly Dome Sea, adding up to a total of thirty-two layers. Above these thirty-two heavens, there are three heavens: Shangqing, Taiqing, and Yuqing. It is said that it is Tianyu, but in fact, it is clear and translucent, and there is no substance and formlessness.
The Great Luo Tian where Yuan Shi Tianzun lived was still at a higher level.
In the thirty-sixth layer of Da Luo Tian, there is a pavilion called Yuluo Xiaotai, and there is a white jade palace on it, which is where Yuan Shi Tianzun lives. Every heaven is controlled by immortals, and they come and go in the thirty-six days, very freely.
The heavens are forming, and the earth is condensing. The Dao Qi moves violently, and the speed of rotation is extremely fast, so the Dao Qi is strong, just like King Kong, and the wind formed is called the Gangfeng. The wind wrapped around the earth and blew so strongly that it could be suspended in the void. The land was nine deep, and it was called the Nine Bases.
There are also gods on the earth to manage. There are four Emperors on each base, adding up to a total of thirty-six Emperors, which corresponds exactly to thirty-six days. With heaven and earth, there is the current world, the base for the growth of characters, and the space for immortals to roam freely.
The "Tao" mentioned in Taoism is not only the origin of all things, but also the essence of all things.
After the Tao incarnates all things, it is also within all things as the essence of all things. Thus, from an axiological point of view, the Tao is the source of all valuable creation. All things in the universe are "born of the Tao and virtuous animals", which is a link in the process of creating the value of the Tao, so it has the value of its own existence.
The Taoist view that all things are generated by vitality and endowed with Taoism breaks down the boundaries between man and nature.
The Taoist book "The Incompetent Son" once pointed out: "People, naked insects, and husbands, scales and feathers, are born in the same heaven and earth, and they are just angry, and there is no difference." Isn't it that people who claim to be different from scales, feathers, beetles, and beetles? Isn't it that they can use their wisdom to think about it, and their words are stupid and wormy, and they are all good at life and death, and they are good at their nests, and they are pecked for drinking, and they are protected by their kind of milk, and they are not different from the good life of people and avoid death, and they camp their palaces, and seek their food and clothing, and give birth to their men and women, and they are all private, and there is no difference, and there is no difference between them? People say that they can't speak without saying their sounds, and they know that birds and beasts can't speak to people, and they also say that people can't speak? ”
Yu Zhenyi saw the evolution of heaven and earth here, and also saw the scene of the recovery of all things.
According to the Taoist concept of life, animals and plants can be cultivated to become humans and immortals. This further breaks down the boundaries between man and nature. Therefore, the significance of Taoism's assertion that "everything that is tangible contains Taoism" lies in the fact that it affirms that all things contain the seeds of "Tao" and have the hope of upward development, which can elevate the form of life and existence layer by layer until it reaches the highest state of unity with Tao.
Demons, monsters, people, all the same.
"The great virtue of heaven and earth is born", people should "be in harmony with heaven and earth", benefit all things without harm, and assist all things to grow, so as to fulfill their responsibility of counseling the transformation and education of heaven and earth. The universe is constantly evolving.
In the gray depths, Yu Zhenyi saw a poem.
Pangu opens the world, yin and yang are separated, the foundation of the world of China, and the cornerstone of southern Henan. Chaos and turbidity are separated, human beings have arrived, all things have been born from here, and families and countries have come from here. The universe was born at the beginning of China, the Eastern Dragon of the Sect of All Nations.
The heavens are open, the morality is quiet and inductive, all things in the universe are strictly followed, and nature and peace coexist. Be open-minded and don't hide treachery, have a weak heart and a natural law, dedicate more to the benefit of sentient beings, benefit others and yourself, and do everything well.
Happy and free from attachment, life expectancy is thousands. Man is the universal deity of all souls in the world,
It is our duty to maintain nature. All things are in harmony and protect nature, and the way of heaven is long-lasting, and all things are safe!
The balance of the surplus is fair, and the balance is round in the world. The son of Hua, the ancestor of the Western Regions, is smart and violates the law, my ancestor can't bear to hurt his body, and punishes him for leaving the country to refine his body and mind.
In addition to selfish desires, the heart will never return to the good.
Westernized people are clever and don't know the retribution of the cycle. Selfishness for oneself is less justice. Harming others and benefiting oneself is against Taoism. The ancestors were merciful and could not bear to kill him. He was degraded from his homeland and exiled to the wilderness, reforming his mind and calling the country for good.
Since then, there have been barbarians, and foreign countries have been born from this. Chickens and dogs hear each other, old and dead do not come and go, and they cannot enter heaven unless they are summoned. Life is long, there are many abandonment of the law, there are few ways to return from exile, there are many foreign countries, there are many desolations and more excavations, and the world is diverse.
The word "cultivation" sounds a bit mysterious. When it comes to practice, it is practiced by living, sitting, and lying down.
Nowadays, most people don't understand what spiritual practice is, they just blindly follow it. I don't know what faith and practice are, I just know how to recite a few verses of scriptures and do a few good deeds, so I think I can get good fortune, and there are even those obsessed people who sit at home all day long and think that they can get positive results by bowing and burning incense every day!
Don't you know that if you don't do good deeds, how can you have merit, and if you don't have merit, how can you become enlightened?
The so-called first step of cultivation is to understand one's own roots, how to practice, only by choosing the right way to cultivate, and only then can you enter the right path, there are three thousand roads, you can always choose a path that suits you, if you only know blindly follow the trend, I am afraid that you will not be able to get the right path in your life!
For thousands of years, Confucianism's "cultivation of Qi and peace" is a kind of practice, Taoism's "self-reliance" is a kind of practice, and the Buddha's "purification of sentient beings" is also a kind of practice. In fact, everyone is practicing, and even if they do not fall into the ranks of Buddha and Tao, they cannot escape the earnest teachings of Confucianism.
In fact, whether there is religious belief or not, practice is a must, many ideas in religion come from the human ethics, and expand it, that is, become a code of conduct for people, such as filial piety, "The Book of Filial Piety" is a Confucian classic, but its concept is still used by Taoists and Buddhists to persuade goodness, and undoubtedly plays an important role in human ethics and moral norms. So, these kinds of practices are in everyday life, so they don't necessarily have to be categorized and treated differently by different names. Therefore, this topic is beyond the scope of this article.
There are several types of practice.
The first type of practice is mainly based on Taoism such as Fangshu and Fangji, so those who practice this Tao are also called Fangshi. His research fields include astronomy, medicine, immortals, divination, physiognomy, and other skills. will learn the study of yin and yang, and know the things of ghosts and gods.
This kind of Fang Xian Tao is different from today's Taoism because it does not have an organization of its own.
The name of Fang Xian Dao comes from Sima Qian's "Historical Records": "For Fang Xian Dao, the form is dissolved and dissolved, and it depends on the things of ghosts and gods." It was more prosperous during the reign of Qin Shi Huang and Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. Therefore, the cultivation of this kind of Fang Immortal Dao is rare in the world, and it is generally secluded in the mountains and forests, isolated from the world, and there are people who have obtained the inheritance of the Dharma lineage and retreat and cultivate, but it is rare to see.
The second type is Dan Dao health, Dan Dao is the cultivation of inner and outer Dan, Wai Dan is mostly seen in ancient times, and there are more Dan Taoists in history, such as Ge Hong of the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
However, with the advancement of science and technology and our understanding of the human body, the ancient administration of lead and mercury has gradually withdrawn from people's sight, and then evolved into taking medicinal herbs for health care and longevity.
In addition, Taoists also practice Neidan, that is, through contemplation, meditation, standing on piles, etc., to open up the big and small Zhoutian, so as to achieve the effect of the unity of heaven and man. Nowadays, many Taoist schools have the inheritance of exercises, especially the Quanzhen school, which mainly cultivates Neidan, and there are many writings on cultivating Neidan.
The third category is the spell of the seal, in fact, this category should be classified into the first category, but it is more special, so it is taken out separately. Fu spells and so on originated from the Tao of the Heavenly Master in the early days of Taoism. At that time, the Taoist people used the charm water to cure diseases, drive away the plague, and perform sacrificial rituals, which won the support of the vast number of poor people, so the charm and magic became the biggest feature of the Heavenly Master Dao, which was used to subdue demons and eliminate demons and perform the Tao for the heavens.
Zhengtian Shidao is divided into different sects, all of which have many mysterious and unpredictable rune inheritances, such as Maoshan and so on, which are familiar to everyone. Of course, the Quanzhen Dao also has a rune magic inheritance, so I won't go into detail here.
The fourth type of practice is the practice of red dust, the so-called practice of red dust, that is, the practice in the world. On weekdays, you need to work to solve your livelihood problems, and then you need to cultivate your mind, practice, do good deeds, and give alms as your main way of practice. However, because of the mundane affairs, there are more tribulations and ups and downs in the practice. However, because cultivating in the red dust requires facing all sentient beings, if you practice the Fa, you will also have immeasurable merits.
However, at the beginning of the practice, it is best to take refuge in the Taoist master in order to obtain the lineage of the teacher, such as the lineage of the Dharma, so that you can carry forward the Great Dao in the world, accumulate merits, and have the practice of the Xuanmen Method, which is the mode of cultivation to achieve positive results. This is because since ancient times, those who have attained enlightenment have not only had to practice the exercises, but also had to go to the human world to save people in order to attain perfection.
The sixth category is casual cultivation, the so-called casual cultivation, most of which do not have the authentic lineage inheritance of the Xuanmen, but use the common folk occult techniques to pray for people to pray for blessings and eliminate disasters. Most of these practitioners are not highly educated, and after recovering from a serious illness, they suddenly gain some kind of ability, claiming to have the guidance of the gods or asking the gods to possess them to check the disease and solve the disaster. Most of these casual cultivators also have the lineage of the Dharma lineage, but they should belong to the hermit school.
In fact, no matter what school of practice you choose, you need to have a firm heart in the Dao, have the courage to take responsibility, spare no effort, and practice diligently in order to achieve the Tao. As long as they are pious enough, they will be able to feel the heavens and the earth, and they will be able to cope with the gods, and they will not worry about not achieving positive results.
Repair is change, and it has the meaning of amendment, repair, and repair. Deeds are words and deeds. Practice, then, is to correct and change our words and deeds. also
In other words, don't say what you shouldn't say, don't do what you shouldn't do, don't think about what you shouldn't think, that's called practice.
The prerequisites for cultivation are: believing in the Great Way, not violating the precepts, practicing according to the law, and being diligent and persevering. Only when you have the above four points can you be regarded as a practitioner. But practice doesn't mean chanting and meditating all day long, it's just a form of practice.
The so-called cultivation is a process of learning, enlightening, doing, and preaching. Correct one's behavior, so that the body and mind tend to the right path, and finally reach the state of "being in harmony with the Tao".
The Tao runs through ten thousand laws, and it is evolved into three vehicles. The initial method is to check the heart with precepts, to check the practice with discipline, to preserve and cultivate the inside, and to clean and strict the outside. However, gradually in the middle way, accustomed to inaction, the body is decent, and the mind is forgetful. And the second trip to the Mahayana, the second time to extinguish, with the thought and forget, not to stagnate, Xuanqi in the middle way. Those who prove this way, refining all to ascend to immortals, transcending the vulgar and living the world, above the downside, enjoy infinite age. Heaven and earth have fallen, and the truth is unshavable, and the Dharma is universal and saves all sentient beings.
There are three stages of monasticism: Hinayana, Medium, and Mahayana. Because although people are endowed with the same qi, the qi they are endowed with is different from the blunt and the turbid.
Those who have desires and desires are angry with heaven and earth. The neutralization and nourishment are virtuous and sage, and the turbid and chaotic qi is stupid and lustful. If you can wash your heart and worry about it, and if you want to be empty, you will return to your roots. Therefore, although the Tao runs through all laws, it varies from person to person, from time to time. The stages that need to be passed through by the path are also different in the realms that can be reached, which has evolved into the Theravada, Middle and Mahayana cultivation methods of Taoism.
First of all, a monk should initiate a heart of belief in the Tao; secondly, he should have a heart of purity, be kind to all sentient beings, and guide others to cultivate with him; third, he should seek out the Master, without the teachings of the immortal master, it is not easy for a monk to attain the Tao.
Fourth, under the guidance of the Master, one should recite the Tao Sutra, which is the gateway to the path; fifth, one should leave the mortal world and enter the Tao, and be weak and indisputable; sixth, one should be ordained as a Taoist disciple and beware of the three karmas of body, mouth, and mind from creating bad karma; seventh, live in seclusion in the mountains and forests and cultivate one's mind alone; eighth, be determined to do penance, believing that the Great Dao is the "true Dharma King", who can save all sentient beings, and attain the Tao without birth or death, ninth, recite the longitude to save people in order to accumulate good karma, and tenth, when I take the master as my true parent, only the master can help me cultivate the Dharma and lead to wisdom.
Hinayana is the foundation of the path, and only when the Hinayana practice is attained, can the monk "enter the Mahayana method of advanced study, and then enter the Mahayana method of contemplation and practice". The Hinayana method is the method of entry,
Hinayana has a way to teach the first door. Having the door, gradually using the method of multiplication, in order to be familiar with its line". Hinayana is considered to be the method of cultivation and the method of introductory practice, with the aim of teaching the first door. The so-called "first gate" refers to the first place cultivators who have just entered the Dao Gate.
Through the practice of Hinayana Buddhism, the practitioner can lay the foundation for enlightenment and return to the right path. As for the aspects that should be paid attention to in the process of practicing Hinayana methods, Du Guangting also studied them, and believed that when practicing Hinayana methods, they should restrain their minds with precepts, calm their hearts with the method of contemplating their minds, and solemnize their appearance with fasting methods.
On the basis of the gains from practicing the Hinayana method, the cultivators still need to practice the Hinayana method, so as to strengthen their aspirations, be familiar with their actions, and determine their desire to seek the Tao. The method of multiplication has the right to distinguish between the real and the real. Du Guangting said: "The husband has the right to practice two doors, the master has attained knowledge, and the real teaching shows it, and the natural harmony is in harmony with the Tao." The corporal will teach him with his power, and he will still want to take it, and he will fix it with his righteous ear. ”
Because the roots of the people in the world are different, the teachings of the saints in the method of the middle vehicle are also different, some are the actual teachings for the sergeant, and some are the right teachings for the corporal. There is a difference between the roots and the upper and lower natures of the world, and the sages have the right to teach the religion. The sergeant Ligan is a master of the practical teachings, and the middle and lower scholars must show their authority.
The so-called right religion mainly refers to the fact that the monastic path should be adapted to the situation and established the religion as you wish. A person with dull roots is a person who is obtuse and mixed because of his turbid temperament, is obtuse by nature, has no understanding of intelligence, cannot distinguish between right and wrong, and does not know good and evil;
People with dull roots are unable to distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil because they are bound by their intellect, and people who are greedy and ruthless have a lot of ** because of greed, so that they lose their nature, fight endlessly, and stay away from the Tao. The saint has the heart of salvation and sets up the right religion. First extremely desired, Zhang Qiqiang, wanton and greedy.
"The opposite of the Tao moves", the heart is extravagant, the health is too much, the sex is strong, the lust is turbid, and the extreme greed is the birth. Disasters and sufferings have caused all kinds of suffering. On the basis of the world's strong demand for freedom from all kinds of suffering, the saint guides his cultivation and freedom from suffering, so as to achieve twice the result with half the effort.
Specifically, the Quan Sect is divided into four monastic methods: mindfulness, sexuality, desire, and greed. The saint is always good at saving things, bowing down to the spirit, showing the power of the door, so that he can realize himself. Therefore, the four doors of power are opened to transform them. The first will be the one who wants to die, and the one who will fix it, will also take his heart.
The second will be weak, and he who will be strong will also take his nature. The third will be abolished, and those who will be reinvigorated will also take their desires. Fourth, if you want to take it, you will fix it and take it for greed. The husband's heart is honest, and the heart is extravagant, because of the extravagance, he thinks about his integrity, and this is the right of his heart. If you are weak, you will be virtuous, and if you are strong, you will be in trouble, and if you are strong, you will think about your weakness, and you will have the right to frustrate the strong.
If you have few desires, you will be clear, and if you have many desires, you will be turbid, and you will be very turbid, and you will think about it again, and you will have the right to clear your mind. If you are not greedy, you will be thrifty, and if you are extremely greedy, you will suffer, because of greed, you will think about your frugality, and this cultivation will be thrifty and seize the right to be greedy. First of all, they are extremely extravagant, so that they are trapped in greed, and then they are anti-monastic."
People in the world are prone to extravagance, sexuality, lust, and greed, and these are all obstacles to the path. In order to remove these obstacles, we must not force them to be broken, but we must go with the flow, and all kinds of pain and inconvenience will arise from them, and the world will not be able to bear the suffering, and the heart will be free from the suffering, so the saints will induce them to cultivate the path.
It can be seen that the establishment of the power religion of the saints is really to let the world go to extravagance and frugality, to go to the false and the true, to have desires and actions, and to do nothing without desires, so that the world can become anti-sexual cultivators and enter the sect.
