With the change in the shape of the battlefield, there is no room for horses, scimitars, and cavalry to survive on the battlefield covered by mines, trenches, barbed wire, poison gas, large-caliber artillery, and automatic weapons. And the appearance of the chariot made everyone realize that the king of land warfare in the new era has appeared, and this war is the salute offered for the birth of the king.

Even so, Charlemagne and the nations retained their cavalry.

On the one hand, due to the limitations of technology and industrial strength, it is not yet possible to bring the lines on the drawing board into reality, let alone take them to the battlefield to confront the "animal army" of Yalfheim. Until enough practical vehicles can be created to replace them, everyone will continue to use cavalry as a battlefield maneuver. On the other hand, because Charlemagne has his own national conditions, the anti-tank weapons developed by the Army Weapons Bureau are generally overweight, and unless it is a defensive war, it is a joke to let the infantry carry that pile of dangerous goods and other equipment on the battlefield, and it is the worst one. You must know that the group of ghost animals on the other side is not stupid, can they take advantage of loopholes and go around behind their backs to start with you? When encountering such a situation, how to effectively block loopholes and prevent the other party from interspersing has become an unavoidable issue. So the high-level idea kings set their sights on the cavalry, and their idea was very simple, since the dragoons could dismount and form a battle column as infantry and put into the battlefield, then why not let the cavalry carry all kinds of anti-tank weapons as mobile anti-armor forces?

As soon as the top pats the head, the bottom immediately starts to act. In just one month, all kinds of anti-tank weapons poured into the cavalry units, up to the spear-like pole mine (that is, the spear head was removed and replaced with an explosive, from artillery shells, explosive packs to anti-tank mines, and the model with disc-shaped anti-tank mines looked like a bamboo pole carrying a gong from a distance. At first glance, this seems to be a reasonable arrangement, but in fact, the first batch of cavalry divisions to accept the transformation, the other units have already gone to the Rhine front to brush up their achievements and medals, and the 5th Hussar Division alone has been thrown to the Ardennes Forest to sit on the cold bench. A discerning person knows at a glance that this thing is by no means simple, and there must be something greasy in it.

The so-called cat is the commander of the 5th Cavalry Division, Colonel Jean Louis de Lazareth, who offended Shangfeng, so he and his entire army were implicated.

Neither Colonel Lazarene nor the top brass of the Royal Army could have imagined that this arrangement would create a bloody battle with great symbolic significance and the epitome of the "Yellow Plan".

The discovery of the anomaly by the 5th Light Cavalry Division was both unexpected and reasonable. In any case, the Ardennes is also an inhabited area, not a desert no man's land. No matter how well the lockdown work is done beforehand, the native-born aborigines will find some clues.
