Chapter 328: Fight or Not Fight
How could the elderly Confucian disciple show weakness and replied: "It is up to man to plan things, and it is up to heaven to make things happen." The pen "Fun" Pavilion www.biquge.info If you don't cultivate humanity and cultivate the way of heaven in vain, how can you succeed?
This sentence expounds the relationship between the way of heaven and humanity, and accuses the Yin and Yang family of only seeking the way of heaven and ignoring the role of humanity.
The three members of the Yin and Yang family were about to fight back, and the Confucian man said: "Since the fortune has been set, it is better to sit at home and wait for the luck to come.
This remark directly attacked the other party's vital point, and in one sentence, the other party was dumbfounded, and he had no plan to refute it for a while, and he was very powerful.
The disciple of the Yin and Yang family lost a game, and he was temporarily unable to refute it, so he drank by himself.
After a while, another young Confucian disciple asked, "My Confucianism started with the Confucian sage, and they all like to look at water, why is that?"
The old Confucian disciple said: " When the water flows, from high to low, soothing the turbulence follows its reason, this is the righteousness; the mighty and mighty, thousands of streams converge into the ocean, and it is endless, this is the way; to the abyss, fearless, courageous, this is brave; it tends to be peaceful, fair and just, this is the law; it is pervasive, there is no gap, this is the observation; no matter where it originates, it has gone through thousands of twists and turns, and it also flows eastward to the sea, this is the will; it can go out and enter, and all things can be clean, this is called goodnessγ β
This was the realization of Confucius's observation of the water, and this man's retelling of the words of his ancestors was intended to educate these two young disciples.
When the second disciple nodded and was taught, Xiao Yi also nodded frequently, his face full of admiration, he really didn't expect that there was so much knowledge between the flowing waters.
At this time, I heard the Taoist disciple ask: "Master, Boyang Ancestor said: Good is like water." Water is good for all things. The husband is indisputable, so there is no especially. The disciple believes that no matter virtue, righteousness, Tao, courage, law, observation, or will, they are all because of their goodness. The ancestor's sentence 'goodness is like water' has actually exhausted the mystery of water, and there is no need to repeat it. The implication is that Taoism is a cut above Confucianism.
Xiao Yi said secretly: "This little disciple is very good. It's a pity that although I understand the essence of the Dao, I haven't obtained the essence of the Dao. "That little disciple knew that the law was indisputable, but he wanted to compete with Confucianism, and he had already deviated from the essence of Taoism.
Sure enough, the Confucian man had grasped this point, smiled, and said: "I have heard that the Tao is indisputable, and I often admire it in my heart." But when I see it today, I don't know if this 'indisputable' is true or false?"
The little Taoist disciple knew that he was wrong, and he couldn't answer when he arrived.
Xiao Yi looked at Ming Jue and said in his heart: "I don't know how he is going to deal with it?"
But seeing that Mingjue was not in a hurry, he took a sip of wine, but said to the little disciple: "Yuan Cong, do you know when the sentence just now, 'The deceased is like a husband, reluctant to give up day and night'?"
The little disciple Yuan Cong shook his head and said, "I don't know, please make it clear to the master." β
Ming Jue said: "That's what Kong Qiu said when he was standing on the edge of the Yellow River when he greeted the ancestor of Boyang. β
Yuan Cong exclaimed: "Kong Qiu greeted the ancestor, then Kong Qiu also asked the ancestor for advice, so to speak, Kong Qiu's knowledge is not as good as the ancestor." β
Mingjue smiled slightly and stopped talking.
Confucius's request for advice from Lao Tzu has been recorded in later generations, and Confucianism has failed to deny it. Taoists are often proud of this and want to overpower Confucianism.
The two young Confucian disciples had a gloomy face, and they were obviously very concerned about this matter.
The elderly Confucian disciple didn't care, and said loudly: "Zi said: Sensitive and studious, not ashamed to ask." A gentleman has no food to eat, no shelter to seek safety, is sensitive to things and cautious in words, has the way and is right, and can be said to be studious. The reason why Sage Confucius is a saint is precisely because of this studious spirit. β
When the two young disciples heard this, they looked overjoyed and nodded one after another.
The elder Confucian disciple said, "The so-called blue is better than blue." People are born ignorant, and they all seek advice from their teachers. All saints have teachers, but the world only knows saints, but who is the teacher of saints?"
Xiao Yi listened to his words, not only brought the matter of "Confucius greeting Lao Tzu", but also in turn, said that Lao Tzu was not as good as Confucius, which was really powerful, and said in his heart: "This person is a master of debate, and he is not weaker than a famous person." Mingjue is afraid that he is going to lose. β
Na Mingjue paused, and was indeed powerless to refute. Taoism says that there is no dispute about the Tao, and the Tao is not good at arguing with others. However, Na Mingjue refused to admit defeat, and suddenly pointed to the scorching sun outside the window and asked, "Yuan Cong, do you know when this scorching sun is closest to us and when it is the farthest away from us?"
Yuan Cong pondered for a moment and said, "The disciple thinks that when the sun rises, it is close to people, and in the middle of the day, it is far away from people. β
Ming Jue smiled and asked, "Why?"
Yuan Cong said: "The sun has just risen as big as a car cover, and now it is like a pan, isn't this the reason that it is far small and close to big?"
Mingjue nodded in approval, but said in his mouth: "I thought that the beginning of the day was far away and the middle of the day was near." β
Yuan Cong disagreed: "The disciple can't agree, please tell the master the reason." β
Ming Jue said with a smile: "The beginning of the day is cool, quite chilly, at this time, the sun is hot, like bathing in a hot spring, isn't this the reason why the near is hot and the far is cool?"
Yuan Cong was stunned and unable to answer. After thinking hard for a while, I only felt that my reasoning was good, and Master's reasoning was also right, but whose reasoning was correct was unpredictable, and it was so troublesome.
While Yuan Cong was meditating, Xiao Yi shook his head and smiled bitterly, and said in his heart: "Mingjue is really powerful, he doesn't entangle with that Confucian person on the same issue, and always looks for his weakness." β
This story of the debate is recorded in the writings of the Taoist ancestor Lie Yukou, and all disciples who read the Taoist classics are familiar with it.
The original story is "Two Children Debate the Day", and after the two children said what Mingjue and Yuan Cong said just now, they asked Confucian Confucius who was right and which was wrong. As a result, Kong Qiu thought for a long time and could not make a decision. The two children laughed at Kong Qiu and said, "Who said that you are highly intelligent?"
This is the deeds of Confucian Confucian saints, but it is recorded by Taoists, so it is often used by Taoist disciples to ridicule Confucian ignorance. In fact, the record of this incident is to praise the great wisdom of the Confucian sage "knowing is knowing, not knowing is not knowing, and knowing is also knowing", and later generations only seek to win the other party, but distort the original meaning and use it as ridicule.
Yuan Cong couldn't tell right from wrong, so he had to ask, "Master, which is the beginning of the day or the middle of the day?"
Mingjue said: "I don't know if you're a teacher?"
Yuan Cong was surprised: "Master doesn't know either?" His eyes changed several times, and he couldn't understand what Mingjue meant, and he didn't know how to answer.
I only heard Mingjue smile and said: "The Confucian sages on the spot don't know this answer, and the teacher is just a third-rate disciple of Taoism, so naturally he won't know." After a pause, he suddenly sighed: "At the beginning, Sage Kong did not ask the ancestors for advice on this issue, otherwise, our descendants would not have to worry about this issue." β
"Papapa" a few times, but it was the disciples of the Yin and Yang family who applauded and said, "That's good! Cheers!"
Xiao Yi couldn't help but shake his head and sighed: "The style of sophistry of famous artists really can't be long!" (To be continued.) )
