If you don't know half a word, I will teach you to break your corpses and bones!" the thief boss said cruel words, but he was retreating in his heart.
The monkey smiled: "I am also the ancestral king, the lord of the mountain for many years, but I have never heard of a great name. The man stubbornly said: "You don't know, I will listen to you: there are six of us, one is called to see joy, one is called to listen to anger, one is called to smell love, one is called to taste and think, one is called to be opinion, and one is called to worry." ”

But I don't know that these six people represent the six desires of Buddhism's state of mind practice, revealing the different states of the world: joy of joy, anger of anger, love of love, thinking of thinking, desire of desire, and sorrow of sorrow......
When the monkey was studying art in Sanxing Cave, he made this set of metaphorical things of Buddhism clear, and knew in his heart that if he wanted to follow the old monk to practice and embark on a journey to the west, the six thieves in front of him must be removed, after all, in the theory of Buddhism cultivation, if people can't get rid of it, there will be troubles.
If you don't kill these six people, your six roots will be impure, and you will be greedy for material life, pursue the happiness of material life, and be tempted by external material desires, and you will not be able to devote yourself to worshipping Buddha, studying Buddhism, and practicing wholeheartedly, let alone completely getting rid of the fate of the six realms of reincarnation.
Zhu Tianpeng studied archaeology back then, and when he went to some ancient tombs to investigate, he would often see the relief carvings on the side of the tunnel of the underground palace painted with clothes, fruits, pipa, etc., symbolizing the five desires of the eyes, ears, nose, tongue and body, which are actually the penetration of Buddhism in the general public, and there is no difference between the six thieves, but the "meaning" is missing.

So, if you want to understand this, when joy, anger, love, thoughts, desires, and worries arise, and when the six thieves invade, they will naturally be swept away by the emptiness of the mind. Therefore, the monkeys showed no mercy to these six thieves, and they were all "killed" one by one.
Zhu Tianpeng reacted at the right time, in addition to secretly praising the monkey's cleverness, he also understood that the other party's killing of the six thieves was actually a sign to those Buddhist powers in the secret that from now on, the distracting thoughts will be removed, and the six roots will be completely purified, which is actually showing that the "spiritual practice" has reached the state of "single-minded enlightenment" from "intentional pursuit".
However, although the monkey comprehended the intention of Buddhism, he killed six thieves and cleared the obstacles for Tang Seng's westward journey, but Tang Xuanzang had not yet cultivated to this point, and blamed the monkey for killing the six thieves, and the means were too cruel to be a monk, and scolded: "I, a monk, would rather die than commit murder." I'm going to die, and I'm just going to die, but you killed six of them, how can you justify it? If this matter is reported to the official, even if you are an official, you can't justify it. ”
The monkey has been unpopular all his life. He saw that Sanzang was only chattering, and he couldn't hold back the fire in his heart, so he made a temperament, turned his body up, exhaled, went back to the east, came to the Dragon Palace in the Eastern Sea, and asked the Dragon King for a cup of tea.
Xuanzang was depressed in his heart, walking with his head down, Zhu Tianpeng also had some understanding, although he had mastered many opportunities, but also because of these opportunities had many shackles, he could not comprehend the true meaning as flexibly as a monkey. The first thing that needs to be done to cultivate the mind is to "break the attachment", that is, greed and hatred, which has a similar meaning to the Taoist idea of beheading off the three corpses. Among them, greed refers to greed, the desire for the extreme pursuit of wealth, material things, food, color, etc. Anger refers to feelings of disgust, jealousy, hatred, etc., that arise when greed cannot be satisfied. Stupidity refers to stupidity, ignorance, lack of distinction between good and evil, and so on. These three levels are the most basic levels of Buddhist practice, starting from the monkey leaving the Five Elements Mountain to learn scriptures from Tang Seng, he was forced to leave Tang Seng three times, these three times correspond to Sun Wukong's "three poisons", through the practice of three levels.
Zhu Tianpeng thought about this, and at the same time understood that the monkey killed the six thieves, not only Mingzhi, but also completely strangled the greed in the three poisons of Buddhism, and after completing the process of quitting greed, the once unruly Monkey King became Sun Xingzhi, and his heart has since changed from then on to no longer a demon heart, but a Buddha heart.
As a comparison, although Xuanzang at this time is profound, he is only an ordinary man after all, and his dissatisfaction with the monkey's behavior is a manifestation of compassion on the surface, but it is an indiscriminate use of compassion, and it is still a mortal heart, which is where he is not as good as a monkey in cultivating his mind.
Zhu Tianpeng remembered that in stark contrast to the monkey in the original book, it was his second senior brother, from this point of view, he, like Xuanzang, needed to learn from the monkey, but he did not intend to really escape into Buddhism, but he never had any intention of changing anything, but this process is also an excellent process of mind cultivation for him, he does not necessarily need to quit the three poisons, but to strengthen the control of these things, to achieve the true transcendence of the soul will, the pursuit of the supreme avenue derived from the innate derivation.

That is, I am at fault, as my disciple, can't I bear it for a moment? I just said a few words to him, why did he disappear without a trace, and returned to that Huaguo Mountain, let's go, let's go, maybe I shouldn't recruit apprentices in my life......
Zhu Tianpeng gained a lot along the way, and he was in a good mood, so he comforted a few words: "Master don't need to worry, although the monkey left here in anger for a while, he will definitely wake up later, he is a monkey of benevolence and righteousness, the master has the grace to get rid of him, how can he not report it? Moreover, this matter was arranged by Guanyin Bodhisattva, even if he wants to go, I guess he can't go, Master is relieved, I believe that the monkey will come back later." ”
Xuanzang touched the corners of his eyes, looked up at the direction with tears in his eyes, chose a westbound road, and walked forward slowly, looking a little desolate.
Zhu Tianpeng deliberately diverted the topic: "This is the ill-gotten wealth of those thieves, I have the right to accept it, and it is also a merit to find a good person and give it to him in the future." ”
Xuanzang listened, clasped his palms together and said: "Amitabha, the donor is really a bodhisattva, if my disciple has a compassionate heart from you, I will be happy as a master!"
The two of them gossiped while walking, and after a short walk, they stepped on a few low slopes, and before a small hill not far away, suddenly an old woman came out, and this old woman was even in her old age, and her wrinkles were stacked all over her body, and she looked as if she had weathered rocks.
Zhu Tianpeng's heart moved, knowing that this was the Bodhisattva who had come to send a hoop to the monkey.
Xuanzang saw that the old man was dressed plainly, wearing a flower hat, holding a walking stick in his hand, trembling and trembling out of the foot of the mountain, holding a brocade robe in the other hand, opened his faint old eyes, and looked forward carefully, for fear that if he was not careful, he would knock down some stones and tree roots, and hurt his body, so he hurriedly walked up to help.
When Zhu Tianpeng saw it, he said with a playful face: "In this barren mountain and wild mountains, isn't the mage afraid that she is a certain monster?"
Xuanzang was taken aback and subconsciously let go of his hand.
A flash of anger flashed in the Bodhisattva's eyes, and his heart became more and more determined to send a tight hoop to Zhu Tianpeng.
