Chapter 19: Nine Changes of the Fish and Dragon

As a result, Zhang Sanfeng began to speculate whether human beings have another path of evolution, just like other creatures in nature, constantly strengthening their bodies, enhancing their vitality, and finally relying on their strong bodies to resist the passage of time and maintain their own survival.

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but think of the immortal characters recorded in the ancient materials who could fly to the sky and live forever. In myths and legends, it is through the cultivation of various miraculous techniques that those people constantly transform their physical bodies, so that they can live longer and have greater strength. The martial arts cultivation techniques that have been handed down in later generations are just a variant that has developed again after those divine cultivation techniques have been completely lost!

As a Taoist with a formal heritage, Zhang Sanfeng knows very well and absolutely believes in the myth that circulates in the martial arts world - human beings can seek a long life span and strong strength through cultivation, and finally ascend to the immortal into a Buddha, transforming into another new life form. This understanding laid the most fundamental foundation for his later creation of "Nine Changes of Fish and Dragon".

After having such a guess, Zhang Sanfeng thought of the external cultivation method that was widely circulated in the martial arts. If cultivated properly, external strength can indeed bring a cultivator a relatively strong body and strong vitality. It's a pity that the cultivation of external skills is more easily limited by the physical qualifications of the cultivators, not only is it difficult to cultivate, but the height of development is also very limited.

Shaolin Temple's "Yi Jin Jing" is a representative of this cultivation method, which uses yoga postures with different miraculous effects, combined with special breathing methods, to transform itself by adjusting the way of its own qi and blood operation, strengthen the muscles and bones, and then enhance the internal force cultivation, on the basis of obtaining a relatively strong body, cultivate a deeper internal force true qi.

It's just that, whether it is a simple external cultivation or a cultivation method like the "Yi Jin Sutra" that combines the outside to the inside and the outside, they have not reached an extremely high level beyond people's imagination in terms of transforming the body and strengthening the muscles and bones, as if there has always been a limit stuck on it.

Zhang Sanfeng guessed that this limit is the highest state that human beings can achieve by innate physical qualifications, and only by breaking through it can we explore the infinite potential contained in the human body itself and strengthen ourselves without limits.

Obviously, the existing cultivation method has neither the ability nor the intention to break through this height limit, but has taken another path in the face of this restriction -- internal strength cultivation with more room for development and higher height restrictions, and the pursuit of a higher realm and stronger strength in the way of internal cultivation.

Despite this, external cultivation still proves one thing, that is, human beings can strengthen their bodies through cultivation, but there is a height limit that external cultivation can obviously not break through. At the same time, it also proves that there is a direct connection between internal and external gong cultivation and can be transformed. Although it is still only a one-sided transformation, and only external cultivation promotes the improvement of internal strength, it is not necessarily impossible to find a way to achieve a reverse transformation.

After thinking about these points, Zhang Sanfeng began to imagine a new way of cultivation, combining the cultivation of external strength with the cultivation of the inner family's true qi, but not just from the outside and inside, transforming the energy obtained from the cultivation of external strength into internal force true qi, but from the inside and back to the outside, using the internal force and true qi cultivated by himself to transform the body again, and constantly strengthening his body. Through the cultivation of True Qi, which is easier to break through the bottleneck and limit, and the development space is also larger, the breakthrough of external strength is pulled, and finally the height limit of external strength cultivation is broken, and the direction of infinitely strengthening one's own muscles and bones is developed.

Speaking of which, this is also a cultivation method that combines internal and external, and the way to combine it is the cultivation ideas contained in the "Easy Muscle Forging Bone Dafa" created by Huang Shang. It's just that the goal of this cultivation method is no longer to improve the internal strength and true qi, but to strive to improve the external strength and cultivation, and infinitely strengthen one's muscles, bones and body. These two, one is inward cultivation and the other is outward cultivation, but the same principle is different.

Seeing that Zhang Sanfeng repeatedly said so many connections and transformations between internal and external skills in his cultivation codex, Ye Qiuli couldn't help but be dazzled by the extremely complicated relationship between them, and had to stop for a while and sort it out.

After thinking about it carefully, he began to make a simplified understanding of the cultivation theory proposed by Zhang Sanfeng according to his own understanding: the cultivation of external and internal skills are two disciplines, and the cultivation of external skills does not require a foundation, everyone can learn and practice, 20 points, 30 points, 70 points, 80 points...... There are people who get all kinds of scores, but the highest is 99 points, and it can't be higher.

The cultivation of internal strength requires a certain foundation, and the minimum score after cultivation is 30 or 40 points, and the high score can be 100 points or 200 points, and the highest score is 299 points at present. Legend has it that there are people who have scored thousands of points, but that is just a legend, and it is no longer possible.

Among them, if quantified in terms of realm, the peak of the day after tomorrow is 99 points, the innate realm is 100 to 199 points, and the mythical realm is 200 to 299 points. Pure cultivation of external skills can only reach the peak of the day after tomorrow (99 points) at most, and cannot break through the innate realm;

According to the mainstream cultivation method of today's martial arts, if you just practice external skills, you can get 70 or 80 points, and the total score is so much; if you enter from the outside to the inside, you can add 30 or 40 points to the internal strength, so that the total score will be 110 or 120 points. After cultivating a peerless exercise such as the Yijin Sutra, you can score more than 90 points in external skills, at least 80 or 90 points in internal skills, and a maximum of 299 points. In this way, the total score is basically more than 170 or 180 points, and the upper limit can even reach 389 points.

The higher the score, the more difficult it is to continue to score, and the maximum score is 99 points (acquired success), while the cultivation of internal strength does not have this problem, and it is relatively easy to get a high score of 100 or 200 points (innate realm, mythical realm). Therefore, the vast majority of people who practice martial arts are seriously biased, focusing on internal cultivation, and many people don't care about it after scoring 10 or 20 points on external skills, and rely on internal skills to pull the total score.

And Zhang Sanfeng's idea is also to pull points, for example, when you get the highest score of 99 points in external strength, and you can't continue to score, turn to internal strength, and use high scores above 180 and 190 (congenital Dacheng) to force the score, but not to pull the total score, but to add the score of internal strength to external strength after discounting. In this way, the final possible result is that the score of the external skill subject reaches 105 points and 110 points (the innate realm), but the internal skill subject becomes 0 points or only a few points remain.

In this way, although the total score has been seriously reduced, due to the fact that the external strength has broken through the 100-point mark, it has successfully stepped onto a new realm, breaking the innate physical limitations of cultivators, making them enter a new level of life.

In this way, the internal strength finally breaks through the realm, and you can get more than 200 points (mythical realm), and the external strength can also score more than 100 points (innate realm), and the sum of the two points is more than 300 points, which is naturally much higher than the original 279 points (99 + 180) and 289 points (99 + 190). What's more important is that this cultivator has successfully broken through the bottleneck and reached a new realm, and his future cultivation prospects are even greater.

In this way, the final score of a cultivator who cultivates both inside and outside will be very high, because his external cultivation will break through the innate realm and get 100+ points, and his internal cultivation can also break through the mythical realm and get 299+ points. When the two items are combined, the lowest score is 399+, and the highest is unlimited, and it is possible to get tens of thousands of points in the end, reaching the legendary realm.

What is calculated here is just a simple value, and there is actually a problem of property weighting. In other words, the effects that can be exerted by the cultivation of internal and external skills are actually not the same, and the higher the realm of external strength, the stronger the weight of its attributes. For example, if it is the same innate realm (after 100 points), there may be a situation where the external power is increased by 1 point * attribute weighting = the internal power is increased by 10 points * the attribute weighting. After reaching the mythical realm (200-299 points), there may even be a situation where the external power is increased by 1 point * attribute weighting = internal power is increased by 20 points * attribute weighting. The further back you go, the greater the advantages that come with the rebirth of the cultivation of external skills.

With such a transformation, Ye Qiuli quickly understood Zhang Sanfeng's idea thoroughly. Zhang Sanfeng's cultivation thinking is actually seriously biased, but unlike ordinary people, he is biased towards the subject of external strength, and on the basis of both internal and external cultivation, he attaches more importance to the strengthening and transformation of himself by external cultivation, and pursues the overall improvement of the life level of the whole person, not just to master more powerful power.

After the idea was established, Zhang Sanfeng immediately analyzed the cultivation process of internal force in depth, and after understanding the principle, he went the opposite way, and reversed the practice of refining qi and blood power into true qi internal force in the process of refining and refining qi and refining qi and transforming spirits, but instead emitted the incomparably pure innate true qi in his own body into qi and blood again, so as to enhance his own qi and blood power, and feed back the strength of his muscles and bones through strong qi and blood power, and finally achieve the purpose of continuously strengthening his own muscles and bones and enhancing his vitality.

This is also in line with the natural law of human body growth and development. The reason why the human body can grow and grow from a weak infant weighing a few pounds to a strong adult of more than 100 pounds is that the most critical premise is to take in enough energy and nutrients from food, and build a complex, coordinated, healthy and independent body on the basis of it, which maintains the activities and survival of human individuals.

If the energy is sufficient and nutritious, the human body will naturally grow healthy and strong, strong and vigorous, and if the person is malnourished from an early age and the energy intake is seriously insufficient, then the person will naturally grow thin and dry, and will not look like it. At that time, I am afraid that not only will I be powerless, but I will even have a lifespan much less than others. These energies and nutrients are absorbed by the stomach and intestines and then flow into the blood, which is carried to all corners of the body to maintain the health of the body.

Living in a feudal era when natural science was still very primitive, Zhang Sanfeng naturally could not study the human body as thoroughly as modern science, but in his long-term cultivation practice, he still slowly understood and accurately grasped this relationship, named the energy required by the human body as qi, and attributed the nutrients required by the human body to blood, and applied it in his own cultivation process.

Through special exercises, he re-emitted the internal force true qi cultivated in his body into the blood to form powerful qi and blood, and then through a special way, his body absorbed this qi and blood, and used the qi (energy) far beyond the normal needs of the human body to transform his body, so as to realize the evolution of the body and the sublimation of life, and finally obtain an eternal and immortal body, so that he can exist between heaven and earth forever.

Because Zhang Sanfeng was already a super master of the Innate Dacheng realm at that time, and he could independently absorb the aura of heaven and earth to replenish himself, the cultivation method he created had the possibility of success in the theory of energy conservation. Unlike acquired martial artists, once cultivated in this way, there will be a paradox of absorbing energy from the body and transforming it into internal force true qi, and then transforming internal force true qi into body energy through cultivation exercises. Because no matter how it is transformed, most of the energy will always pass in the process of moving, and there is no external energy to replenish, only the transformation of its own energy in one's own body, then there must be only one result.

Although human beings can obtain nutrients and energy to fully meet their survival needs from food and medicinal herbs through eating, there will even be some surplus. Collecting that surplus energy and transforming it into internal force true qi is easy to do as long as you have the right exercises. But it is not enough to use the little energy of the human body itself to transform one's body.

Therefore, the "Nine Transformations of the Fish and Dragon" exercise created by Zhang Sanfeng has no possibility of succeeding in cultivation before the innate stage; even if he is a beginner martial arts master, he is not much sure of success; if he wants to successfully cultivate this unique special exercise, he must at least have to be in the realm of innate attainment. Only that kind of top-level master can fully provide the huge amount of energy needed to cultivate this exercise. Without their ultra-high cultivation realm, there was no guarantee that the speed of absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth from the outside world would be able to keep up with the needs of cultivation of the exercises.
