A brief discussion on the ancient Chinese mythological system

The ancient Chinese mythological system is very messy, and it is actually difficult to generalize.

It is only because, if you believe in Taoism, then naturally the god of Taoism is the most powerful, and if you believe in Buddhism, you will naturally be the god of Buddhism, which is the most powerful.

In "Journey to the West", the most powerful god is the Buddha, just because the author believes in Buddhism, and in "The Romance of the Gods", Hongjun is the most powerful, just because the author believes in Taoism.

Looking at the two books, you will find that there are many contradictions between the two books in terms of belief in the gods.

It makes no sense to blindly say that the Buddha is powerful, or that Hongjun is powerful, just like who is the most powerful Guan Yu or Qin Qiong.

When I was a child, I thought that the Buddha was the most powerful, just because he was influenced by "Journey to the West";

When he grew up, he thought that Hongjun was the most powerful, just because he was influenced by "Buddha is the Way".

Later, I thought that Pangu was the most powerful, just because Pangu was a dead man, and no one would compete with the dead for fame and fortune. Chinese people have the habit of respecting the dead, even if that person made a big mistake, after death, a hundred, as for the kind of whipping behavior, has always been despised by the Chinese.

In "Buddha is the Way", Hongjun is Pangu's teacher, which is mainly inherited from "Romance of the Gods". The author of "The Romance of the Gods" believes in Taoism, and naturally vigorously advocates the gods of Taoism, and the gods of Taoism even override Pangu.

But in today's flood novels, few people write Pangu as Hongjun's apprentice.

In terms of Pangu's status, it is higher than Hongjun.

Most of them are Pangu brothers, Hongjun is younger brothers, or rather, Hongjun is Pangu's good corpse.

Just because Pangu is the creator god, Hongjun is the master of the plane.

One is to fight the country, the other is to sit on the country, one is Taizu, and the other is Taizong. According to the thinking habits of the Chinese, it is natural that those who fight rivers and mountains are more powerful than those who sit on rivers and mountains, and Taizu is more powerful than Taizong.

Today's torrent is actually too different from "Buddha is the Way", mainly on the basis of inheriting the original system, integrating some systems of Xiuzhen stream, forming the so-called torrent.

In the Chinese mythological system, Pangu, Fuxi, Taiyi, Houyi, Nuwa, etc., are all the nature worship of the ancients, and the nostalgia of some ancestors, so these ancient gods are named gods.

Pangu is the conjecture of the ancients on the opening of heaven and earth, which was born;

Nuwa was born from the conjecture of the ancients on the origin of human beings;

Taiyi God was born from the worship of the sun by the ancients.

These are the oldest deities and have nothing to do with Taoism, Buddhism.

In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Tao Hongjing and others derived the hierarchy into the Taoist system, and at that time there was the Heavenly Court, the Jade Emperor, the Sanqing and so on. At that time, in the Taoist system, the Jade Emperor was equivalent to the way of heaven, equivalent to God, and higher in status than Sanqing, which was equivalent to a courtier.

During the Tang Dynasty, the Buddhist system was also formed, with grades such as Jialan, Arhat, Bodhisattva, and Buddha.

In the Song Dynasty, during the era of Song Huizong, some Buddhist temples were changed to Taoist temples, some Buddhist disciples were changed to Taoist disciples, and some Buddhist gods were changed to Taoist gods. On the list of gods, it is the opposite, some Taoist gods, some of the twelve golden immortals, and Taoism has joined Buddhism.

Throughout the Chinese mythological system, it is always very messy, each has its own sayings, Taoism will never admit that the Buddha is the most powerful, and Buddhism will not admit that Hongjun is the teacher of Zhun Tiying, and Confucianism will not admit that Hongjun and Rulai are the most powerful.

And "Buddha is the Way", the biggest advantage is to sort out the messy system and make it a tight system.

Reading this book is equivalent to re-studying ancient Chinese myths and stories, which is equivalent to reading a historical mythology book.

Of course, there are pros and cons, and novels are always novels, and there is still a difference between them and real history, and you can only read their gods, but not their shapes.

And in this book, the volume of the Flood Famine, there is a new system. (To be continued......)
