112.Afterword Hunt (2-in-1)

Tuesday, August 15 afternoon.

"Hunter, are you okay. "The white-haired maiden is comforting the wounded knight.

The young man bowed his head and bandaged the wound:

"Thank you for your concern, I'm fine. ”

Hunter's eyes narrowed, he couldn't remember exactly what had happened, and what remained in his mind were vague fragments that he didn't want to recall.

Blood, death, and grief.

He was one of the few surviving knights of that night, and all the knights who were on duty with him had as little memory as he was.

Or maybe they just don't want to speak out about the horrible things they've done.

He continued to wrap the bandage around again.

Enid reminded:

"It's too much winding, and it will affect blood flow. ”

Hunter was stunned and let go of his palm clutching the white bandage.

Enid sighed silently in her heart, it seemed that the death of his friend and former comrade had affected him too badly, allowing a good valiant knight to make such a lowly mistake.

She wasn't going to comfort him with anything, no one could empathize with another person's pain, and even if she could really feel someone else's feelings across words, it wouldn't do anything to alleviate the pain, which was one of her credos.

He was going to suffer the pain himself, then chew and swallow, always remembering the sharp smell of a knife.

Enid says:

"I've investigated the backgrounds of all the victims, so you must be a good friend of Tamu. ”

Hearing the name, Hunter nodded instinctively.

Enid took out a form from her bosom:

"Is Tam's mother bedridden?"

Hunt's eyes regained a little sparkle:

"Yes, very serious. ”

"It's particularly serious. Again, he emphasized.

Enid says:

"And as far as I know, none of his family members are capable of working. ”

Hunter nodded repeatedly:

"That's right. ”

Enid says:

"Considering his situation, I applied for a more generous pension for him. ”

Hunter's eyes lit up:

"How much. ”

"500 pounds, and most of the comrades who died this time also have 200 pounds. Enid said.

Hunter asked:

"I also have post-war compensation, right?"

Enid says:

"300 pounds. ”

Hunter was silent for a moment.

In the past, Tamu's family would have only received 100 pounds, while he did.

Hunt reached into the table, fumbled for a moment and pulled out a small metal box with a rusty surface, he handed it out, then took it back, opened the lid, picked out some bits and pieces of notes and coins, and handed them to Enid.

"There's £400 in it, please give it to Tam's family along with my compensation, but please don't tell them I gave it. ”

Enid was stunned because Hunter had made the same decision as her.

In fact, Tamu's pension was a little higher than that of the other knights, but it was only £300, and the remaining £200 was paid by herself.

She wasn't doing anything good, she was only doing all this to make up for the guilt of not being able to face that night with them, after all, as the daughter of the Lord Chancellor, she couldn't do anything but make up some money for the knights from poor families.

Enid rejected Hunt's request:

"I've come to you to ask you to bring this money to the Tam family, and I'm going to give pensions to other knights whose families are in need, and I'm leaving Firth this afternoon. ”

Enid glanced at the bits and pieces of money in the box:

"But I can help you exchange the money for whole bills, and the lowest value of the Knights' pensions is usually five pounds. ”

Hunter smiled awkwardly:

"Then it's a problem for Lord Enid. ”

It wasn't until Enid turned to leave that his smile faded from his face.

He was scared.

He was afraid to see Tamu's family, so he wanted someone else to bring the pension over.

He distinctly remembered holding the blade of his sword, and Tam's body slowly losing heat in front of him.

He remembered it very clearly, and that scene had been frozen in his retina forever and would accompany him throughout his life.

Hunter struggled to his feet, and even though he had more fear in his heart, he had to bring the money to Mother Tam .

He drove his numb body through the gray city streets, through countless walking corpses indistinguishable from him, to a small room.

He had stood for a long, long time before that.

Da-da-da.

Hunter finally knocked on the door.

After a cacophony of sounds, someone opened the door.

Hiding behind the door was a young girl with two dark circles on her face, her bright blonde hair, her eyes were red, and two dry tear streaks made her look terrible.

"Maureen. ”

The girl looked at him coldly for a moment, then opened the door.

He walked in, Tam his mother and his lover Serena.

"Lady Rosa, I'm sorry. Hunter bowed his head.

Lady Rosa was a woman in her fifties, but she looked to be in her sixties, and old age had seriously troubled the old woman, and she was so sick that she could only lie in bed.

Serena was sitting beside Madame Rosa, holding the old woman's hand tightly, and taking great care of the old man.

"It's Hunter, long time no see. ”

After saying this, the room fell into a dead silence, as if no one knew what to do.

Hunter took out an envelope and put it on the bedside table:

"This is a pension from the Order. ”

The old woman looked at the yellow envelope that was bulging high, took it and opened it directly, and nodded:

"It's too much. ”

Hunter turned his head.

Lady Rosa asked:

"How much did you stuff. ”

Hunter lied about a number:

"Two hundred. ”

The old woman shook her head and handed the envelope back to Hunter:

"Definitely more than that, point you out, we can't take your money. ”

Hunter didn't reach out:

"If it was Tam, he'd do the same. ”

Maureen said coldly:

"My brother does more than that. ”

Lady Rosa shouted:

"Maureen!"

Maureen's eyes were red, and she cried out:

"Isn't it? If it weren't for the fact that my brother had injured his arm to save him, he would have been a valiant knight now, and perhaps he wouldn't have died today. ”

The girl looked at Hunter and choked up and said:

"My brother saved you, but you couldn't. ”

Hunter lowered his head and said nothing.

He even wished that Maureen would curse him severely, even if it didn't reduce the guilt and grief in his heart in any way.

He knew that not only did he fail to save Tam but that he might have killed him with his own hands.

Just like everyone else he killed.

Madame Rosa loudly rebuked her daughter:

"That's your brother's own decision, and if he's still alive, he wouldn't let you do that, ahem. ”

After Maureen heard her mother's cough, she hurriedly rushed forward with a worried face:

"Mother, I won't say it, I won't say it, you calm down. ”

Maureen clenched her fists and glanced at Hunter without saying anything.

Hunter opened his mouth, unable to say anything.

He silently walked out of the door and sat down on the stone steps of the doorway.

Serena sat quietly next to him.

The woman rested her head on Hunter's shoulder:

"It's not your fault, you've done your best just to survive, as long as there is the slightest possibility, you will fight with your life to save him, I know you are such a person. ”

Hunter smiled bitterly:

"Maybe, but maybe I'm not. ”

Serena put her hand on Hunter's face and turned his head to meet her own:

"I know you better than you, a good man, and a complete idiot. ”

Hunter asked:

"If one day I disappear, you can slowly forget about me. ”

Serena looked at him earnestly:

"Do you love me. ”

Hunter can't lie under these beautiful blue crystal eyes:

"Love. ”

Serena says:

"That's fine, no matter where you go or what you do, I will wait for you, even follow you, you will never be able to get rid of me.

"Our love is unshakable to death. ”

Hunter says:

"No, it's not that simple. ”

Serena says:

"Then tell me, don't you believe me?"

Hunter closed his eyes in pain:

"Maybe I killed Tam . ”

Serena first turned her head to make sure that the door was properly closed, and then looked back at Hunter, and said in a low voice:

"Do you know what you're talking about?"

Hunter shook his head, baring his teeth:

"No, I don't know, I just remember that we were killing each other that day, there were no enemies at all, it was all our own people fighting each other. ”

Hunter laughed miserably:

"Yes, I know very well, I actually remember everything, I killed Tam before Tam killed me.

"When did I go mad? I feel like I was after killing Tam but maybe I was in the first place, but I couldn't realize my madness, because I might not be any different from anyone else. ”

Selina hugged Hunter's arm worriedly:

"You haven't said that to anyone else. ”

Hunt replied:

"I didn't tell anyone but you. ”

Serena grabs her boyfriend's palm:

"You can't say anything about anyone, it's just your imagination, it's not true. ”

Click.

The door was opened.

Maureen, with a dark face, stood in the doorway.

Serena asked directly;

"When were you standing behind the door. ”

Maureen originally wanted to apologize for her impulsiveness, but she didn't expect to hear such horrible words:

"I heard it all. ”

Serena hurriedly explained:

"Hunter was just too tired to stand the blow and had mental problems. ”

Hunter stretched out his hand to stop his girlfriend's quibble, raised his head, exposed his throat, closed his eyes, and said calmly:

"Come on. ”

The girl unceremoniously walked up to him and put her hand down her throat.

Serena stretched out her hand to stop the girl, but was blocked by Hunter.

The pain that Hunt had expected did not appear.

Maureen grabbed him by the neckline:

"What do you want to do? Death, Escape?"

The Hunter opened his eyes blankly:

"Won't you kill me?"

Maureen punched Hunter in the face, knocking him out of the eye:

"The murderer of my brother has not been found, are you going to escape?"

The movements of the girl's hands were firm, but her voice was constantly trembling, :

"Aren't you going to avenge him? Are you going to betray his trust?

By the end, the girl was almost screaming.

The girl let go of her hand:

"I want revenge, for my brother, I want to ......" The girl's voice trembled more and more, choking and swirling in her throat.

Hunter hugged Maureen and patted her on the shoulder:

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. ”

Maureen finally burst into tears, tears pouring out like a waterfall.

"Woo woo woo, brother, brother he ......"

Hunter hugged Maureen tightly and comforted:

"I'll find the murderer, and then I'll get revenge. ”

The girl kept sobbing and couldn't say a word.

Hunter has never been more determined:

"I will. ”
