Of course, this does not mean that monkeys can fully understand the path that Subodhi said, but that monkeys are optimistic by nature and only listen to what they can understand, so that they will not have the slightest distress when they hear the Tao, only endless gains.

Hearing this, the monkey was startled, and immediately came back to his senses from listening to the sermon, and explained: "Master Mingjian, the disciple is not insincere in listening to the lecture, but he is overjoyed when he hears the master talk about the wonders, so he does not feel that he is so enthusiastic. I also hope that Master will forgive my sins. ”

Hearing the monkey say this, Su Bodhi smiled slightly: "Oh, so you have listened to everything I said?"

Hearing what Patriarch Su Bodhi said, and then seeing Patriarch Su Bodhi's smiling face, the monkey blushed: "The disciple just listened to a rough idea, probably!"

Shaking his head amusedly, Subodhi didn't continue to make fun of the monkey. After all, the Taoist is wonderful. The people who can tell it are all supernatural beings, like monkeys, even if they can hear some of them, they can't say it.

After a pause, Su Bodhi said: "Wukong, since you can hear the wonderful sound, it can be seen that you are a malleable talent." Let me ask you, how long have you been in the cave?"

Hearing this, the monkey was secretly happy in his heart, but he still said respectfully: "The disciple was ignorant, and I don't know how much time has passed. I only remember that when the disciple had nothing to do, he often went to the back of the mountain to collect firewood, and there was a good peach tree on the mountain, and the disciple had eaten seven full peaches there. ”

Hearing the monkey say this, Su Bodhi nodded and said, "That mountain is called Rotten Peach Mountain." Since you've eaten peaches seven times, it's been seven years. Now that you've been here for so long, it's time for you to teach you something. I just don't know what you want to learn from me today?"

When the monkey heard Su Bodhi say this, he was overjoyed and said, "But with the teacher's teachings, there is only some Taoism, and the disciple will learn." ”

"Hmm. After a deep groan, Patriarch Su Bodhi said: "There are three hundred and sixty side doors in the Dao character gate, but although they are side doors, they can all be cultivated to achieve positive results. I don't know which one you want to learn?"

The monkey said, "According to the teacher's wishes, the disciple listens wholeheartedly." ”

Su Bodhi laughed when he heard this: "In that case, how about I teach you the way of the art of the sect?"

The monkey asked, "Dare to ask the ancestor, what is the way of the martial arts?"

Su Bodhi stroked his beard and said: "In the door of the word art, there are some people who invite immortals, help Luan, ask divination, and make yarrow, and can know the reason for seeking good fortune and avoiding evil. ”

After scratching his ears and cheeks for a moment, the monkey couldn't understand what Subodhi said, so he asked directly, "Can you live forever like this?"

Su Bodhi smiled slightly: "No, no." ”

Waving his hand in annoyance, the monkey heard that he couldn't live forever, and even the teacher forgot to shout, just said: "Don't learn, don't learn." ”

Seeing this, Su Bodhi deliberately teased the monkey, so he continued: "Then how about I teach you the way of flowing words?"

The monkey asked again, "What is the Tao in the Liuzi Gate?"

Su Bodhi said: "In the Liuzi Gate, it is the lord of heaven and earth, and the human race has developed to this day, including Confucianism, Buddha, Taoism, Yin and Yang, Mojia, medicine and other hundred schools, or read scriptures, or chant Buddha. ”

The monkey asked, "Is it possible to live forever like this?"

Patriarch Su Bodhi shook his head, and the monkey said, "Don't learn, don't learn." ”

In this way, several times in a row, but all the way that Su Bodhi said, the monkey will ask about immortality, if he can't live forever, he won't learn the way, even if he can get immortality, he can't learn it for a long time. After several times, although Su Bodhi had the intention to tease the monkey, he couldn't help but be a little depressed.

After being rejected by the monkey again, Su Bodhi was depressed, and he didn't have the heart to tease the monkey, so he walked directly off the high platform, held the ring ruler, walked up to the monkey, and scolded with a straight face: "You monkey head, you don't learn this, you don't learn that, but what do you want to learn? It seems that the teacher can't teach you this monkey head." ”

After speaking, Su Bodhi took the ring ruler and knocked it on the monkey's head three times, turned his hands behind his back, and walked into the hall, but he left everyone behind and stopped talking.

Seeing this, the rest of the disciples had never seen Su Bodhi get angry, and they couldn't help but look at each other, and after a long time, the disciples who came back to their senses couldn't help but complain about the monkey and said: "You splash monkey, you don't learn this, you don't learn that, and you talk back to the master." Okay now, the master is annoyed, so I won't talk about it directly, and see what else you can learn. ”

However, no matter what these disciples said, the monkey was not annoyed at all, just a smile on his face. Seeing this, those disciples preached for a long time, but in the end, they couldn't really do anything to the monkey, so they could only leave helplessly.

After the disciples left, the monkey couldn't help but laugh out loud secretly - it turned out that when Su Bodhi hit him three times with the ring ruler, a wave of enlightenment came to the monkey's heart, making him understand what Su Bodhi meant - Su Bodhi Patriarch beat him three times, but he taught him to go to him during the third watch, and walked inside with his hands behind his back, but to teach him to enter through the back door, but to teach him to pass on the Tao in private.

As for how did the monkey understand? Of course, Bodhi let him understand, otherwise he could still guess?
