The Buddha said in many Mahayana scriptures that everyone has the essence of a Buddha and the ability to realize nirvana, and they can all become Buddhas, and they can also generate and exert their Buddha power to manifest the world of Buddhas.
However, the Buddha is the Tao and the Xuanmen, and the so-called "transformation" is actually the process of suppressing human nature and manifesting Buddha nature.
Therefore, Jizang did not say to Shen Shi in a tone of asking about the sins, but said calmly: "The Buddha said that all living beings are equal, if you don't revere it, don't be in awe." ”
He understands that sticking to one's self is the heart of the Tao. Unless Shen Shi can't stick to his self, or suppress his self, he will have a Buddha's heart.
And it's very easy.
The self is free and indulgent, but man is orderly. In other words, since birth, people are bound and suppressed by laws and morals.
What is not restrained and suppressed is "evil", and the "evil" in the world, that is, the devil, is explained. And the demon put down the butcher's knife and became a Buddha on the spot.
There are also people who are restrained and suppressed by it, and this is "goodness", that is, good people in the world, and natural Buddhists who suppress their own hearts.
This is the difference between a Buddha and a Tao. The Tao cultivates the true self, and the Buddha nature refines the truth with falsehood. When the true self is suppressed, the Buddha nature will appear, which is for "being".
There are two situations of "being", one is that there is but does not arise as "being", so it cannot be said to be "being". They are ordinary beings, and if they don't establish the causes that are close to Buddhism, and if they don't develop good intentions and disgust, they will be like a weed, and they will very likely wander between good and evil, and eventually they will either go to the good path or fall into the evil path and drift with the flow.
The other kind of "being", good and evil, even practitioners who have cultivated the Tao but have no true self, such as the Golden Immortal of the Teachings of the past, have already arisen and slowly matured, so they are "beings".
Buddhism is always more patient with "yes".
"Bodhisattva, what about the others? They came before me, why can't I see them? Didn't you say that you had to do a centering adjustment?"
Shen Shi had no choice but to turn away from this somewhat embarrassing remark, and he talked about him left and right. Jizo wasn't angry at all.
