In a few days, the Lampon meeting period has arrived, and it is a grand gathering of monks and Buddhas.

A few days ago, three altars have been established: the Zhongyuan Buddha Altar, the Pushi Altar, and the Lonely Soul Altar. Clean the main hall, prepare all kinds of offerings, set up the square table of five elements on the altar, offer a treasure pot in the middle, there are hundreds of treasures and hundreds of flowers, a thousand kinds of different fruits, and put a large bottle of lotus, offer incense case, hang the plaque of "Orchid Bon Event" in front of the hall.

On July 15, a large plate of fruits and luscious four-colored vegetables were placed on the case.

There are also waiters holding incense plates in front of the incense table, and everyone sings in unison, officially opening the Menglan Bon Festival.

Next, the altar is purified, and at this time, Guanyin Bodhisattva holds the water bottle, takes the willow branch nectar, and cleans the mandala in all directions, and removes the altar filth.

The Buddha was led forward to recite the Menglan Bon Sutra, filial piety is eternal, and the Dharma is boundless. Everyone went around the altar to recite the Menglan Bon Sutra, and recited the Nan Wu Amitabha Buddha three times, and then everyone stood on both sides in turn to listen to the Buddha's blessings**.

The Buddha talked about filial piety and pure cultivation, and grace and blessing were exalted.

At the end, everyone bowed to Shakyamuni Buddha 12 times, Maitreya Bodhisattva 3 times, Manjushri 3 times, Buddhas of the 10 directions 3 times, and 10 Bodhisattvas of the 10 directions 3 times, and returned them when they were finished.

Then the bell rang three times, and the officiant sang: Shanglan Bon Offering.

"These four continents, all living beings are good and evil, each has a different kind, and the dwellers of the Dongsheng Divine Continent respect the heavens and the earth, and have a peaceful heart. Those in the north of Luzhou have an indifferent temperament, like to kill and fight, and have a poor temperament. I, Xiniu Hezhou, are not greedy or killed, and worship God and etiquette. But those who are in the south of the province are greedy for lustful pleasures, and they have many fights and killings, but they are still smart and teachable, and they are willing to grow up. I have the Three Tibetan Sutras, talking about heaven and earth, and persuading people to be kind. ”

The bodhisattvas asked, "Oh, I don't know which of the three Tibetan scriptures, I haven't heard of them." ”

Rulai continued: "The three Tibets are the Dharma, the Treatises, and the Sutras, with a total of 35 books and 15,144 volumes. ”

"This is my newly founded Mahayana Buddhism, which emphasizes the practice of entering the world and benefiting all sentient beings. If all living beings in the world are liberated, this Mahayana Dharma cannot be done. ”

"Now I want to send the south to the east and educate it. But if I send the scriptures to this, I am afraid that the people in the southern province will not know how to cherish them, so I want the people who understand Buddhism in the east to come and learn the scriptures and teach him to go through calamities before he can retrieve the scriptures, and then he can become a Buddha and settle the world. The person who learns the scriptures needs to follow the way of my Buddhism's ninety-nine to one, go through ninety-nine eighty-one difficulties along the way, take my true scriptures, and carry them forward in the world. Along the way, there are many demons and demons, so you still need to subdue the demons and subdue the demons before you reach Lingshan. ”

The gods, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas also praised the Buddha loudly, and saw the loftiness.

Guanyin Bodhisattva stepped forward at this time and saluted: "The disciple is not talented, I wish to go to the East to find a person to learn the scriptures." ”

Rulai nodded and said: "Okay, this matter has to be Venerable Guanyin, now I will give Venerable Guanyin to handle this matter, go to the eastern land to find the person who has learned the scriptures, come to my spiritual mountain." ”

The crowd said, "Obey my Buddha's arrangement." ”

If you nodded, Meng Lan's grand meeting ended, and the matter of learning the scriptures was finally settled, and everyone dispersed, and they didn't talk about it.

Zhenyuan Daxian entered the Taoist gate and said that Zhenyuan Zili Wuzhuang Taoist Temple had already been reported to the Buddha of the West Heaven.

If you come to hear about this, I feel that the move of the three Qings is not trivial, the intention is very obvious, according to this, the intention of the Buddha seems to be known by the three Qings, the three Qing are stepping up the arrangement of the power of the Daomen on the road to the established transmission of the scriptures, where there is a Tao, it is difficult to have a Buddha, I am afraid that in this way, over time, the difficulty of the great cause of spreading the scriptures is increasing.

As the ruler of the world and the ancestor of Buddhism, he feels that things in the world are changing, and the matter of passing on the scriptures is becoming more and more urgent.

However, before the formal decision is made, there is one more important thing to be done before the final decision can be made.

On this day, the Buddha ordered Ah Ao to invite the Venerable Guanyin to discuss important matters, Guanyin received the order, from the South China Sea frame auspicious clouds not long to Lingshan, the ceremony met the Buddha Rulai.

Rulai summoned Guanyin alone and said to Guanyin, "I have invited His Holiness to come today to discuss an important matter. ”

"The disciple asked the Buddha to make it clear. ”

Rulai also said: "This transmission of the scriptures is a major event, and it must be approved by the Heavenly Court, but the Heavenly Court has not yet learned about this matter, and I would like to ask His Holiness to go to the Heavenly Court to inquire about the opinions of the Heavenly Court. ”

Guanyin nodded and said, "Respect the decree of the law, I'll go and ask for a report." ”

Rulai nodded and said, "Then Venerable Lao bothered to walk." Then he explained to Guanyin the details that he needed to know about this trip.

Guanyin Bodhisattva received the Buddha's decree and immediately went to heaven to inform the Jade Emperor of the Buddha's intentions.

Guanyin came to the heavenly court, and the king of Nantianmen saw that it was a bodhisattva, and did not dare to delay, so he went in to report, and soon the Jade Emperor invited him to the palace to see the seat.

The Jade Emperor asked, "Why did Guanyin Bodhisattva personally come to the place this time?"

Guanyin got up and saluted: "The poor monk came this time to respect my Buddha and discuss with the Jade Emperor about taking scriptures and passing on the scriptures. ”

When the Jade Emperor heard the word scripture, he was puzzled and asked: "Oh, where can I learn the scriptures? I think there are countless scriptures in the Western Heavens, do you still need to take any scriptures?"

Guanyin replied: "Back to the Jade Emperor, this time to learn the scriptures is because my Buddha Rulai wants to send good believers to the West Heaven to seek the true scriptures of the Three Tibetan Great Virtues, in order to save the suffering of the people in the world." ”

When the Jade Emperor heard this, he was even more strange, and said: "You have countless magical powers in the Western Heavens, why don't you send the scriptures directly, but ask someone to pick them up?"

"The poor monk told the Jade Emperor the original intention of learning the scriptures. ”

The Jade Emperor replied unsatisfactorily: "Oh, please tell the Venerable. ”

Guanyin continued: "Since the chaos in the heavenly court, since my Buddha came to Antian, it has been hundreds of years on the earth, and evil has grown on the earth here, and evil has been born in people's hearts. Especially the people of the southern Ganbu Continent, who are greedy and vicious, if they are not persuaded to do good, they will be out of control for a long time. And the people of Nanzhou have only learned a small amount of superficial Buddhism, and they cannot liberate themselves, let alone save others, so our Buddha is ready to arrange for a person to set off from the Tang Dynasty in the southern continent, and go all the way to the west to seek the Mahayana scriptures, get the scriptures, and achieve positive results, so as to show the preciousness of my scriptures, pass them on to the eastern soil, and secure the east. ”

The Jade Emperor pondered for a while, thinking to himself, if this move is called taking scriptures, what are the plans, I don't know the details for the time being, but in front of Guanyin, I can't ask directly, so he said: "This is a good idea, I think that the four continents were originally canonized by me to your Buddha Rulai to be in charge, and he wants to pass on the scriptures in the south of the four continents, and it is also within his part." Has the candidate for this study been chosen?"

"The candidate for the scriptures has been chosen by my Buddha. ”

The Jade Emperor asked: "Then since it is the person selected by the Buddha, it must be a Taoist monk with high mana." ”

Guanyin shook his head and said with a smile: "This person doesn't have any mana. ”

"This is strange, this will definitely be difficult and dangerous all the way, and this person is not able to do it, how to overcome all the obstacles all the way, reach the West Heaven, and obtain the true scriptures?"

"The Great Heavenly Venerable Gao saw that this person is not a mortal fetus, but a person who is dedicated to the Buddha, in the previous life for the two disciples of the Buddha Jin Cicada, my Buddha Rulai asked me to arrange a few apprentices and the person who took the scriptures to be blessed, so that I could make the trip, and I was sent to discuss with the Jade Emperor for this matter, and tried to learn the scriptures and pass on the scriptures to the great cause of the world. ”

The Jade Emperor listened to it and thought: "Then it is a big deal to come to learn the scriptures, this time I came to discuss with me, I think I want to hear the opinion of the heavenly court on this, such an important matter, I need to weigh it carefully, it is inconvenient to make a claim immediately." ”

Thinking of this, the Jade Emperor still did not comment on the matter of learning the scriptures, but said first: "The Buddhism is vast, and there are many people with boundless mana, I am afraid that it has already made its own arrangements. ”

Guanyin replied: "The Jade Emperor is the Lord of Shengming, and I would like to tell the Jade Emperor that this time I will arrange for three people to go with me, and I will also ask the Jade Emperor to recommend a candidate to protect and learn from the scriptures." ”

The Jade Emperor pondered in his heart: "If you immediately agree to be recommended by Heavenly Court, it is equivalent to agreeing to the matter of learning from the scriptures. ”

So, the Jade Emperor said: "This scripture is a major event for the West Heaven to stabilize the world and pacify the Quartet under the governance of the Heavenly Court, and the Heavenly Court should support it." ”

Guanyin saluted and thanked you.

Guanyin saw that the Jade Emperor had preliminarily approved the matter of learning scriptures, and promised to arrange candidates, and the purpose of this trip has been achieved since then.

As soon as Guanyin left, all the immortal classes in the Lingxiao Hall began to discuss, and some people said: "This is obviously to learn from the scriptures and pass on the scriptures, but in fact, the West Heaven Rulai intends to expand eastward." ”

The Jade Emperor listened to the discussion of the people, and his heart was even more bottomless about this matter, and he did not comment on it, and the audience was almost talking, and said: "If the Buddha once made peace for me, and now he has the heart of calming the world and passing on the scriptures to save people, it is a great fortune in the lower realm. ”

After speaking, he announced the dispersion of the dynasty, returned to the palace, and the immortals saluted and retreated.

The Jade Emperor knew that the matter of learning from the scriptures launched by Rulai was not trivial, and immediately invited Taishang Laojun to discuss the matter after returning to the palace.

Taishang Laojun had already learned that Rulai was planning to initiate the study of scriptures, this time Guanyin came to heaven, and the Jade Emperor came to invite, so he knew that it was related to this matter, so he arranged for his palace to go to the Jade Emperor to discuss.

When the Jade Emperor saw Lao Jun coming, he hurriedly went out to welcome him into the inner palace and ordered the tea and fruit to be entertained.

The Jade Emperor asked first: "Does Dao Ancestor know about arranging for the scriptures?"

Lao Jun smiled: "I am here for this matter. ”

"It's just right. ”

Then he said in detail that Guanyin Bodhisattva came to say that he wanted to learn the scriptures today, and said: "It seems that this scripture study has been arranged for a long time, and it should be a trivial matter, so please come and discuss with Lao Jun, I don't know what Lao Jun thinks?"

Lao Jun said slowly: "Today's Xitian, since the fight to stabilize the chaos in the heavenly court, the merit is high and famous, since then, as far as I know, its people from all walks of life have to support all the way to seek to expand the actual control of the power, I think that Rulai has already planned to expand eastward, this is a long time planning, and it is finally about to settle." ”

The Jade Emperor asked, "Then according to Lao Jun, does Heavenly Court support him, or simply oppose this matter, or resolve this matter?"

"This study of the scriptures is the Buddhist plan to spread the scriptures in the south of the continent, I think the four major continents are nominally arranged to be in charge of Rulai, although only the West Niu He Continent is its actual control range, but to spread the scriptures in other continents is also justified, can not be blocked in the open. ”

When the Jade Emperor heard Lao Jun's words, he seemed to have something to say, so he said: "What you say is reasonable, and I also consider it." Although the Western Heaven is subordinate to the Heavenly Court, it is actually independent of the outside, and the place actually under its control is inconvenient for others to touch. ”
