Chapter 9: Trumpets 13 and 11
Matthew Wakefield always thought he was going crazy.
Because of the strange book that was originally unknown.
But this was not the case, and until three days later, he was still alive and well, in room thirteen of the Leaky Cauldron Bar.
And the book, which had been lying quietly in the abandoned toad glass box, had not been actively touched by Matthew, nor had it had any impact on Matthew's life.
So much so that he thought he would be able to say goodbye to the book when he left the Leaky Cauldron Bar.
However, on the night of August 31st, the book disappeared from Matthew's sight once more, "leaving" from the glass case, and later on, when he was packing his luggage for Hogwarts, he found the book lying quietly at the bottom of the suitcase.
It's just a different position.
In the past few days, there have been several times when Matthew has almost lost control of his inner temptation and tried to open the book.
Take a look at what is written on it and find out what secrets it is hiding......
But in the end, reason prevailed.
Matthew's instincts had been warning him that the consequences of such a mysterious magical side item would be unimaginable if he came into contact without any knowledge.
The tragic death of the black-eyed toad had already left a deep impression on his mind.
Even when he saw the book lying quietly at the bottom of the suitcase, Matthew still locked the suitcase calmly as if nothing had happened.
Then he lay down on the bed and fell asleep peacefully.
......
The next morning, Matthew woke up at six o'clock.
He was a little curious, a little nervous, a little excited, and a little scared about the Hogwarts he was about to go.
After getting out of bed, he put on a black wizard's robe that he had bought in Diagon Alley a few days earlier, and although the weather was still very hot, the robe that seemed a little thick was quite comfortable to wear...... I guess I have some kind of cool magic at work.
He then retrieved the letter that Penelo Crivat had given him before leaving.
In the envelope, there was only one train ticket...... Let Matthew board the Hogwarts Express at King's Cross Station platform 93/4 at 11 a.m. on 1 September.
Other than that, there are no hints or explanations.
However, Miss Kerry Watt had told him before she left that Tom, the owner of the Leaky Cauldron, would send him there, so Matthew just waited quietly in his room.
It wasn't until 10:30 a.m. that there was a soft knock on the door of Room 13.
Walking over and opening the door, Tom, the emaciated, shriveled barkeeper with his teeth out, was outside, holding a small flower pot with a sparkling green powder.
"Wait, Mr. Wakefield!" he said with a grin.
"Come in, sir!" said Matthew.
Tom walked into room thirteen, and then walked slowly to the fireplace, he snapped his fingers, and the dark green flame in the fireplace rose instantly.
"We'll go to King's Cross via Floo Powder, Mr Wakefield. Tom explained, "It's getting in from one fireplace and coming out of another...... It's very simple and very hassle-free...... All you need to do is say 'King's Cross Station'...... As long as you speak correctly, you won't go wrong with the fireplace......"
The process of how he will use Floo powder is described in detail, and Matthew is also listening quietly.
After making sure that Matthew understood all the steps completely, Tom placed the pot on the mantelpiece.
"I'll give you a demonstration and help you bring your luggage first. He grabbed Matthew's suitcase.
Tom then picked up a pinch of shiny powder from the pot, walked over to the stove, and threw the powder into the flames.
With a whew, the fire turned turquoise, rising higher than the old man. He walked straight into the fire, shouted "King's Cross Station", and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Matthew took a deep breath, reached out and took a pinch of Floo powder, and walked over to the flames:
"King's Cross Station!"
It was as if he had been sucked into a huge washing machine, his whole body was spinning rapidly, the whistling sound in his ears was deafening, and the green flames in front of him were dazzling......
Looking around, one can see a series of fireplaces with doors vaguely flashing, and even a faint glimpse of the room outside the fireplace......
After some time, Matthew suddenly realized that he had arrived at his destination.
He is now located in a fairly large space...... The walls on all four sides are lined with dark wood panels of jet black and shiny, and many fireplaces with emerald green flames are embedded in the planks. Every few seconds, with a soft pop, a wizard popped out of one of the fireplaces on the left. And on the right, there are one or two people waiting in line in front of each fireplace waiting to leave.
"Mr. Wakefield!" Tom handed Matthew back to him, "Have a nice time at Hogwarts." ”
"Thank you, Mr. Tom. Matthew bowed lightly and thanked him.
The owner of the Leaky Cauldron just smiled and started lining up in front of the fireplace on the right to get ready to leave.
......
Walk out of the room with a fireplace, and King's Cross Station is here.
A crimson steam locomotive, parked on a platform packed with passengers. The sign on the train reads: Hogwarts Express, eleven o'clock.
And the sign on the platform next to it reads: Platform 93/4.
The smoke of a steam locomotive filled the air over the chirping crowd. All kinds of cats are walking around under people's feet, and a few toads can be seen jumping around. The screams of the owls, mixed with the voices of the crowd and the dragging of heavy luggage, were very harsh.
Matthew squeezed through the crowd, and the scene on the platform was somewhat similar to the situation in his memory.
Just as he was about to get in the car and find a box—
"Hey, hey, hey!" behind him, someone seemed to be calling him.
Matthew turned around a little puzzled and saw a girl with very thick and unkempt brown hair and a big ginger cat in her arms, running towards him.
"Hello?" Matthew frowned, he didn't seem to know each other as far as he could remember.
"You're number thirteen, aren't you?" the girl asked, with some interest.
"Number 13......" It took Matthew a moment to realize that it was his room number at the Leaky Cauldron Bar, and he nodded, "Yes, that's right. ”
"I've seen you several times at the Leaky Cauldron, and I've always wanted to say hello to you, but I haven't had a chance to do it for a few days...... By the way, I'm number 11!"
The girl grinned, revealing two distinct bunny teeth.
