Hui martial arts, marked by Mount Kunlun, are called "Kunlun School", which is a famous school of Chinese martial arts. The Kunlun sect is also a branch of Taoism that emerged in the late Ming Dynasty, and its location is located in the Kunlun Mountains in the eastern Pamirs. The Kunlun Mountains stretch for hundreds of miles, the mountains are secluded and beautiful, and Taoist scholars go to practice one after another. The Kunlun faction is named after the mountain and stands on its own. In Jin Yong's martial arts novels, the Kunlun faction is one of the eight major schools, and He Zudao is one of the representatives.

In fact, most of the Kunlun sects in the world are misinformation, and the Kunlun sect did not come from the Kunlun Mountains in the Western Regions but originated in the ancient Shandong Linqing Dynasty. Therefore, it is also known as the Linqing faction. The Kunlun sect is not named after the mountain, but after its founder, Master Kunlun. The Hui people have a strong, brave, well-exercised, and fearless national character. Advocating martial arts is a distinctive feature of the history and culture of the Hui nationality, which has gradually evolved into one of the national sports traditions and humanistic spirit of the Hui nationality over the past few hundred years, and is still maintained and carried forward by the Hui people in many areas. Since ancient times, most of the places where the Hui people live have martial customs. There are many sects of Taoism, and their names vary depending on the criteria for their distribution. According to the theory, there are five categories: the Jishan School, the Classic School (Miao Zhen Dao), the Fulu School, the Danding School (Jindan School), and the Divination School (Feng Shui, Astrology).
In history, there are also the divisions of the five major sects of Zhengyi Sect (Patriarch Zhang Daoling), Quanzhen Southern Sect (Patriarch Zhang Boduan), Quanzhen North Sect (Patriarch Wang Chongyang), Zhenda Sect (Patriarch Zhang Qingzhi), and Taiyi Sect (Patriarch Huangdong Yi), and the division of the four major sects of Zhengyi, Quanzhen Dao, Lingbao Dao, and Qingwei Dao. There are also the sayings of the eight schools of morality, innateness, Lingbao, Zhengyi, Qingwei, Jingming, Yutang, and Tianxin.
Modern Taoism is divided into pure religion, which is mainly divided into five sects - Jishan, Sutra (Miao Zhen Dao), Danding, Fu Gong, and Zhan Xian. The most influential are the Fu Gong School and the Danding School, the former advocates the use of charms and other methods to cure diseases and exorcise ghosts, and the latter advocates alchemy pills to seek immortals, and divide the outer Dan and the inner Dan two veins.
Kunlun faction
The formal distribution of Taoism is generally believed to have begun in the Song and Yuan dynasties. There are 7 major schools that are more influential in the history of Taoism:
Zhengyi: There are Lingbao Sect, Heavenly Master Dao, Pavilion Soap Sect, Lushan Sect, Liuren and so on. Its Taoist priests can practice at home, do not abstain from meat, and can marry and have children. Its Taoist temple is generally called the "Temple of Descendants".
Quanzhen Dao: Originated from Zhong Liquan and Lu Dongbin's Inner Dan thought, and there are different between the Southern Sect and the Northern Sect. There are many branches, such as the Longmen faction, the Yuxian faction, the Jingming faction, the Nanwu faction, the Suishan faction, the Yushan faction, the Huashan faction, the Qingjing faction, etc.
True Dao Sect: Founded during the Jin Dynasty, it gradually declined after the Yuan Dynasty.
Taiyi: The Jin Dynasty was founded by Xiao Baozhen, a native of Weizhou [now Qi County, Henan], and gradually declined after the end of the Yuan Dynasty. Its religion mainly worships the "One God".
Jingming Dao: Founded in the Southern Song Dynasty, the religion gradually merged into the Zhengyi after the Ming Dynasty.
Shangqing School: The Shangqing School was formed in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and was named after the special dissemination and practice of the Shangqing Sutra. The Shangqing Sutra is a series of Taoist scriptures derived from the "Huang Ting Sutra", also known as the "Dadong Zhenjing". The Shangqing school takes convincing spirit as the cultivation method, supplemented by cultivating scriptures and cultivating merits.
Wudang faction: Zhang Sanfeng of the Song Dynasty was founded in Wudang Mountain, Junxian County, Hubei Province, which is the sect of the inner family, and the Tao and the martial arts are combined. Enshrine Emperor Zhenwu as the main god.
After the Ming Dynasty, Taoism was mainly divided into two major sects, Zhengyi and Quanzhendao, except for the hidden sect Miao Zhendao, all other sects were grouped under these two sects. The Baiyun Temple in Beijing has the "General Book of Zhuzhen Sects", which lists a total of 87 Taoist sects, and in fact some of them are only continuation of the genealogy, not an independent school. (According to the teachings, it should be 36 heavenly religions and 72 local religions, with a total of 108 sects.) )
From the above information, it can be seen that the Kunlun sect is an insignificant small sect in Taoism. It's very difficult to find some information about it. But in the martial arts world, the Kunlun faction is a first-class sect.
