Chapter 44: "After a Long Absence and Reunion-I"
Blake wandered the streets, rummaging through garbage cans and into a narrow alley.
It is located in an urban village, and because of the cheap rent, it is densely built with various five- and six-story houses, and it is full of migrant workers who have "drifted west".
With the flow of people, there are business opportunities, so the downstairs floor is usually converted into a store by these householders for business or rented out.
Behind the crowded and bustling, the back-to-back houses are full of garbage, and even though the landlords have put signs on the walls and stairs with the slogan "No littering", it still can't stop the garbage from being generated.
It is dark and hidden, the accumulated garbage is difficult to clean up, and because of the barrier of dense houses, it is difficult to be found, and over time, it has become a nightmare for residents on the first and second floors of private houses and a paradise for stray animals.
Blake was busy rummaging through such an alley, expecting a piece of bread or a half-bucket of instant noodles that wasn't very spicy to pop up.
Many people who don't know think that cats' long-term memory is only 3 to 21 days, and after this time, the past will be completely forgotten.
Their theory is based on the fact that after a period of absence, the kitten will encounter it again and develop a completely unfamiliar hostility, as if it had completely forgotten its mother's nurturing grace.
But what they also don't know is that the ancestors of cats, before they were domesticated, were completely dependent on memory to survive.
Unlike the dogs of the time, they were group predators, and because of their excellent talents, cats were better at hunting alone, and this pattern of hunting was very complex relative to the cat's IQ.
From the choice of hunting location, to the hunting strategy for each type of prey, to the smell disturbance along the way, these are all things to remember in your mind.
Memory, which is the premise for cats to survive, is also the nature that has been passed down in the blood from generation to generation.
Blake remembers a long time ago when there were a few good days.
In those days, I didn't have to do anything, I just had to play or sit quietly, watching the little friend who had disappeared for a long time make all kinds of movements in front of humans that it couldn't understand, and I could easily get food that I rarely could eat.
But since that little friend disappeared, it has been left to forage in these garbage heaps.
Blake couldn't figure out why he had tried to do it the same way he did, and instead of giving it food, they drove it away.
Its tail now has a slight ache in its tail, having been smashed with a wine bottle by one of the humans during that time when it was driven away.
Of course, it certainly doesn't know what kind of annoyance it is to run to a barbecue stand covered in garbage.
At dawn.
After a night of no gain, and only seven minutes full of all kinds of leftovers, Blake dragged a dirty dead mouse back to the park with a dirty dead mouse in his mouth.
Approaching the flower bed, there was a dangerous unfamiliar smell in the surrounding air.
It is said that there is nothing strange about the people in the park, and there is some strange smell, but this smell is full of danger.
Blake stopped in disbelief at the bush outside the flower bed, and this breath reminded him of the fierce dog that had killed "Meow" two days earlier.
Although the smell was not the same, the smell seemed to be more dangerous than that of the ferocious dog.
The instinct for danger makes it want to get out of here and run away! But to give up the flower bed that has long been regarded as "home", Blake has a little reluctance.
With a mouse in its mouth, it whimpered in front of the bushes, hoping that the animal at home would leave on its own.
Li Hang exchanged the exercises and the essence blood of the "lynx" at the home of the Internet celebrity, and after trying to change it once, he returned to the park with nothing to do and slept beautifully on the flower bed.
He hadn't slept long before he smelled Blake in his sleep, which had retained a hint of vigilance.
Shaking his ears, Li Hang opened his eyes and looked in the direction where the smell came from, waiting for Blake's surprise when he came back and saw him.
But after waiting for a while, Blake's voice still only sounded outside the bushes, but it never came in.
He was a little impatient, and simply jumped off the flower bed and walked out of the bushes.
Smelling the danger approaching, Blake finally restrained his reluctance to the flower bed and fled quickly into the distance.
The scene Li Hang saw when he walked out of the bush happened to be the picture of the dirty white cat running farther and farther away with a mouse in its mouth.
He was stunned for a moment, and hurriedly chased after him.
With Li Hang's current physical fitness, he should have been able to catch it soon, but Blake seemed to have encountered something terrifying, and he actually dropped the mouse in his mouth and scurried around in a panic.
Blake's eyes were filled with despair, and he leaned on the bricks at the corner of the city wall with his hunched body, the short hairs on his back standing up with trembling.
Li Hang sat helplessly in front of it, screaming softly, stretching out his tail and stroking its back over and over again.
With Li Hang's movements and shouts, Blake calmed down from his fear a little bit, and carefully stared at Li Hang's appearance.
Perhaps it was the good days of the time that left a deep impression on it, and Blake's memory became clear, and he gradually recognized Li Hang, the brindled cat with his delicious food and drink.
But out of fear of Li Hang's breath, it wasn't sure if this cat that looked almost exactly the same as his little friend was the same one.
Li Hang saw that it was quiet, and he didn't dislike its stains, so he pounced on it, threw it to the ground, put his two paws around its neck, and gently gnawed on it.
Blake was still in a state of panic, and was suddenly attacked, so frightened that his soul almost flew away, but then he felt this familiar slapstick action, and the pictures in his memory were instantly replayed to the clips that had been fought again and again, and now, Li Hang's identity was finally determined.
"Mi Mi"
Now that it has recognized the identity of its little friend, of course it can't allow itself to be unilaterally pressed under this former rookie, and turned around to hug Li Hang, also tearing and playing on him.
Under the circumstance that Li Hang deliberately controlled his strength, after a while, the two cats became dirty in the fight.
After playing for a while, Blake remembered his mouse, pushed Li Hang away with his paws, called him, and ran along the way to the place where the mouse had been dropped.
Thankfully, they didn't have to fight for long, and when they passed, the rat was still there and wasn't taken away by the park cleaners.
