Chapter 92: I want to go to Lingshan
Chang'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty
Jiang Liuer, who was running all the way and was dusty, had no intention of visiting the prosperous scenery of Chang'an, the imperial capital, but plunged into the Tibetan scripture building of Chang'an Huasheng Temple.
On a simple table, Jiang Liu'er was concentrating on studying this "Vimalaya Sutra".
The Vimala Sutra is one of the early classics of Mahayana Buddhism, which preaches the concept of prajna emptiness, and uses the subtle and subtle non-dual methods to eliminate all contradictions, so it has influenced the Zen thought of later generations.
Jiang Liu'er found a large stack of books commenting on the Vimala Sutra, and he put these scriptures on the desk layer by layer like stacking building blocks, and then unfolded and flipped through them volume by volume, comparing and figuring out every commentator and every commentator one by one......
When she had almost comprehended the Vimalagi Sutra, Jiang Liu'er began to concentrate on the study of the Myoho-renge-kyo again. The Myoho-renge-kyo is an eight-volume and 100,000-character book that the Buddha said in his later years that everyone can become a Buddha because of the supremacy of the content of the teachings. This is also a Mahayana Buddhism that saves sentient beings from the sea of suffering, and such classic scriptures are also very fond of Jiang Liuer.
As usual, he found the commentaries of various schools related to the Myoho-renge-kyo and began to study them carefully, and where the meaning was vague or unclear, he opened the commentaries and commentaries of each school, compared them with each other, and found out the true meaning of them.
In this way, while reading and studying, many Buddhist scriptures with 100,000 words were gnawed down by him, and even integrated into them, keeping them in mind in the bottom of his heart.
In Huasheng Temple, many nights in the dead of night, the bright moon shines outside the window, the shadows of the trees are swaying, and the autumn crickets are chirping and singing in the grass;
Inside the window, some dim candlelight danced gently, reflecting the stacks of scriptures on the desk, as well as a young, handsome and particularly focused face.
On this day, Jiang Liuer heard the monks of Huasheng Temple talking about it, saying that there was a Tianzhu monk named Bopo, who was preaching in Chang'an City, Jiang Liuer's heart moved, so he bid farewell to the abbot of Huasheng Temple, and made a special trip to meet Tianzhu monk Bopo.
Walking into the temple where the scriptures were preached, the Tianzhu monk Bo was tall and deep-eyed, tall and burly, with a particularly thick beard, covering almost half of his face, and a long chain of very thick and exaggerated Buddhist beads hanging around his neck. Tianzhu monk Bopo was lecturing at this time, and while he was talking about the scriptures endlessly and speaking rapidly, he kept gesturing and dancing, which seemed both funny and vivid.
Jiang Liu'er stopped at the moment, standing in the crowd, quietly listening to the lectures of the Tianzhu monks, sometimes nodding and sometimes showing a knowing smile.
At night, the room of Tianzhu monk Bopo is still flickering.
Jiang Liuer and Tianzhu monk Bopo were sitting face to face, talking about the scriptures. The two of them forgot the time, forgot to sleep, and discussed the Dharma there with their eyebrows fluttering.
In the process of exchanging Buddhism with Bopo, Jiang Liuer personally felt the wisdom and charm of Tianzhu Buddhism and the breadth and profundity of Buddhism.
"In Lingshan......" Tianzhu monk Bopo said.
Every time she hears the name of Lingshan, Jiang Liuer always feels mysterious and inexplicable.
”...... There is a large Buddhist temple called Nalanda Monastery in Lingshan, where more than 10,000 Buddhist disciples from various countries have studied there. There was a high-ranking monk there called Venerable Jiexian, who knew all the Dharma sutras and ......" Speaking of this, Bo Po looked very excited and proud. "And, there are the most complete Buddhist scriptures in the Tibetan scripture pavilion of Nalanda Temple, these original scriptures are baked with the unique broad leaves of my Tianzhu Buddha country, and then the scriptures are engraved on the leaves with a knife, so it is called the Bayeux Sutra. The Bayeux Sutra preserves the scriptures for a long time and does not fade over time......"
The flame of the oil lamp on the table flickered on and off, swaying with the wind, reflecting Jiang Liu'er's angular face, his face was a little burning at the moment, his face was flushed, and his mood was a little excited because of excitement.
But there was a voice shouting loudly in his heart: "I want to go to Lingshan, I want to go to Nalanda Temple, I want to see the true scriptures!"
This cry echoed in Jiang Liu'er's heart for a long time......
Songshan Shaolin Temple
A monk wearing a gray cloth monk's robe, white socks on his feet and cloud shoes are hurriedly going to Shaolin Temple to preach the scriptures, in the Buddhist gate, the senior monks in Chang'an, Luoyang around the various temples in turn to preach the scriptures, this is also a common thing in Buddhism, but the difference is: in the past, most of the people who preached the scriptures were old monks, and this time the person who preached the scriptures was a very young and handsome monk, he was ---- Jiangliuer (Xuanzang).
The monks of Shaolin Temple led Jiang Liuer into the temple, through the long courtyard, Jiang Liuer walked all the way, all the way curiously watched hundreds of Shaolin monks in brown shirts waving long sticks, tigers and tigers, roaring!
However, Jiang Liu'er's interest is not in this group of warrior monks, but in the scriptures. As soon as I settled down, I immediately went straight to the Shaolin Temple Scripture Building.
"I didn't expect that the Shaolin Temple, which was canonized by martial arts, also has so many books!" Looking at the scriptures in the scripture building, Jiang Liuer, who had seen a lot along the way, sighed at this moment.
"At that time, there were two large-scale extermination campaigns in the previous dynasty, which caused a large number of Buddhist scriptures to be burned or discarded. Because my Shaolin Temple is guarded by warrior monks, it can be regarded as escaping that catastrophe. The fat monk who guarded the scriptures introduced to Jiang Liu'er. In addition, many monasteries in the imperial city of Chang'an and the eastern capital of Luoyang have quietly transported some classic Buddhist books to Shaolin for preservation in order to prevent the loss and burning of scriptures and scriptures. So, many of the books you see today are unique books. ”
After listening to the introduction of the Shaolin monk, Jiang Liuer sighed, "I thought that Shaolin Kung Fu was just to strengthen the body, and I didn't want to have a great use for protecting the Dharma, which really made the little monk admire!"
"Exactly, in fact, my Shaolin martial arts can not only protect the Fa, but also save it!" said the fat monk of Shaolin Temple arrogantly.
"Oh, what do you mean?" Jiang Liu'er couldn't help but ask. Over the years, he "turned his ears away from what was going on outside the window, and only read Buddhist scriptures and books!" He really didn't know much about the secular world and current affairs and people outside, so he asked this question at this moment.
The fat monk couldn't help laughing: "Back then, Li Shimin, the king of Qin, had conquered Wang Shichong in Luoyang, but he didn't expect to be ambushed by Wang Shichong's heavy troops, leaving only the king of Qin and a few relatives to flee to the vicinity of the mountain gate of my Shaolin Temple, and the situation of the king of Qin at that time could be described as precarious! But my Shaolin Temple has always hated Wang Shichong's perverse behavior and cruelty to the people, so on that day, my thirteen warrior monks saved the Qin king Li Shimin, that is, the current Emperor Taizong......"
"This is the past of my Shaolin Temple's "Thirteen Stick Monks Save Tang Wang". ”
Speaking of this, the fat monk of Shaolin Temple was full of red light, and his chubby face couldn't help but show a look of pride.
