11. The case of moving the palace of the three strange cases in the late Ming Dynasty
The two dynasties of Wanli and Taichang, the change of the throne, and the change of the court are simply a nightmare for Zhu Youxiao, the eldest grandson of Emperor Wanli and the eldest son of Emperor Taichang.
In the same month that the Ming army was defeated at Salhu, Zhu Youxiao's (Tianqi) mother Wang Cairen died of illness. Wang Cairen was originally the palace maid who served the crown prince Zhu Changluo in the East Palace, and was not named a talented person until he gave birth to Zhu Youxiao, and died of depression because he was scolded by Zhu Changluo's favorite concubine Xi Li Xuanzhi for a long time and Zhu Changluo. She once said: "I have a grudge against Xi Li, and it is difficult to avenge my hatred." "
In July of the following year, Zhu Youxiao's grandfather, Emperor Wanli, died. Then Zhu Youxiao's father, Emperor Taichang, died. Zhu Youxiao lost three relatives one after another. In particular, his father, Emperor Taichang, collapsed in one month after his accession to the throne, and the whole country was in chaos.
This year, he was 16 years old. At this time, Zhu Youxiao had not been made the crown prince by his grandfather Emperor Wanli, nor was he made the crown prince by his father Emperor Taichang, and he had not gone out of the cabinet to study. When Emperor Wanli was alive, he always refused to make this eldest grandson his grandson, nor did he refuse to let his eldest grandson go out of the pavilion to study. It was not until his death that he left a will: the emperor's eldest grandson should be canonized and enrolled in school immediately. A few days later, Emperor Taichang ascended the throne, and the ceremony of canonizing Zhu Youxiao should naturally change from the crown prince to the crown prince. However, Emperor Taichang was not enthusiastic about canonizing the crown prince, and later, under the repeated requests of the ministers, he issued an order: "The king king decrees the establishment of the East Palace, and chooses the ninth day of the ninth month of September." "But people are not as good as heaven, on the first day of September, Emperor Taichang died. Zhu Youxiao was not made by the grandson of the emperor, the crown prince had not had time to do it, and the book was not officially read for a day, and he wanted to inherit the emperor's throne.
Such a successor to the throne, the Ariake generation, is the only one.
So, what's the "palace removal case"?" "Moving the palace", literally, is to move from one palace to another, which seems simple now, but at that time, it was a major event for the imperial court.
The "palace transfer case" includes two stages: "avoiding the palace" and "moving the palace".
Let's start with "Avoiding the Palace".
The words still have to start with Zhu Changluo. Zhu Changluo has two candidates, "East Li" and "West Li". As you know, there are queens, imperial concubines, concubines, concubines, etc. in the harem, and the servants are relatively low-level concubines. Emperor Zhu Youxiao's mother died shortly after giving birth to him, and Zhu Youxiao and his fifth half-brother Zhu Youzhen were entrusted to the care of Xi Li Xuan. In order to control Zhu Youxiao, Xi Li asked him to live in the same palace with him. Later, the Emperor of the Apocalypse said: "The selection of the waiter beat the Virgin, and the death caused the collapse", and then "the selection of the waiter insulted and abused, and I wept day and night". After Emperor Taichang ascended the throne, Zhu Youxiao and Xi Li moved to the Qianqing Palace. Xi Li was favored by Emperor Taichang, and Emperor Taichang planned to make her the imperial concubine from the chosen attendant, but Xi Li asked to be made the queen. Soon, Emperor Taichang died, and the dream of Xili Feng was shattered, so he colluded with his confidant eunuch Wei Zhongxian, wanting to take advantage of Zhu Youxiao's young age and living in the Qianqing Palace, coveting the curtain and controlling the government. Yang Lian waited until the Qianqing Palace to cry and sacrifice, the door of the Qianqing Palace was closed, the ministers lined up, and the eunuchs waved and beat randomly. The ministers forced in, and after crying, please see the emperor's eldest son, who was blocked by Xi Li Xuan's servant in the warm pavilion. Liu Yixie, a scholar, Zhou Jiamo, a scholar of the ministry, and Yang Lian in the middle of the matter, Zuo Guangdou of the imperial history, etc., were asked to ask Xi Li Xuanzhi not to live in the same palace with the crown prince Zhu Youxiao, but Xi Li Xuanzhi refused to move the palace, and even confined Zhu Youxiao in the Qianqing Palace.
The eunuch Wang An, the master of ceremonies, took Xi Li Bubei and snatched Zhu Youxiao out, and Wei Zhongxian and other eunuchs chased him out. Zhu Youxiao's robe was torn by the chasing eunuchs. The cabinet minister Liu Yixian was on the left, and the minister Zhang Weixian was on the right, and they supported Zhu Youxiao to ascend to the public opinion and carried him to the Wenhua Palace. Xili sent someone to invite Zhu Youxiao back to the Qianqing Palace, and the ministers arranged Zhu Youxiao to Ciqing Palace. In this way, Zhu Youxiao got rid of the coercion of Xi Li and others, escaped from the Qianqing Palace, and lived in Ciqing Palace. This incident is known as "avoiding the palace" in history.
Let's talk about "moving the palace".
Zhu Youxiao lived in Ciqing Palace, but Xi Li "lived in the Qianqing Palace". And if Zhu Youxiao (Tianqi) wants to ascend to the throne, he must return to the Qianqing Palace. In order to let Xi Li "move the palace" as soon as possible, the military department gave Yang Lian and Yushi Zuo Guangdou many times in the matter, Zhu Youxiao (Tianqi) hesitated and was capricious, and finally ordered on the fifth day of the first month of September: "The first emperor chose to serve the Li family and others, and lived in Renshou Palace, and moved on the same day." "Xi Li Xuanzhi is still in the Qianqing Palace and does not move. According to the "History of the Ming Dynasty: The Biography of Fang Congzhe": "...... So, the proposal to move the palace was indecisive for several days. ...... The day before ascending to the pole, (Liu) Yixian and (Han) were invited from the gate of Zheli Palace to choose to move (huì) Luan Palace (the place where the palace concubines of the Ming Dynasty were old-aged). And the emperor's eldest son, Zhu Youxiao (Tianqi), also returned to Qianqing Palace from Ciqing Palace. This is the "Removal of the Palace".
