Chapter Eighty-Six: Warning (Asking for Recommendation)
Professor Horace Slughorn turned and walked away.
Matthew walked into the Slytherin common room alone, and the stone door behind him quickly closed on its own.
It was the first time that so many people had appeared in the common room.
The soft armchairs by the fireplace were filled with students of all grades, and many others stood aside, all discussing with concern what had happened in the past few days......
And for some couples, today may be the worst Valentine's Day they've ever had.
Matthew first found the only prefect he was familiar with, Garma Farley, in the crowd.
After pulling her into a remote corner, Matthew informed her of Slughorn's previous words.
"Do you need a password to leave the common room!" Miss Farley was almost startled, "Okay, thank you, Matthew, I'll tell the other prefects about this...... Remember, don't pass on the password!"
"Of course. Matthew nodded.
He then returned to his dormitory.
Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle, and Nott were all here, and they were all listless.
Not being able to leave the common room for two and a half days was a bit "cruel" to these first-year mischievous students.
"Let's play wizard chess!" Noether suggested.
The proposal was quickly endorsed by the other three.
"Matthew, are you coming along?" called Malfoy.
"No, you guys can play!" Matthew shook his head, then sat down at his desk.
......
The other four boys shouted as they happily played wizard chess.
Draco Malfoy was still complaining about why his pieces weren't as good as they used to be.
The whole bedroom was soon filled with a cheerful atmosphere.
Matthew, on the other hand, was lying at his desk, his head bowed, thinking about something.
Hermione and Neville suddenly disappeared......
This was completely unexpected.
After lunch, what the hell happened-
Did they really find out what the truth was?
Or is it ...... Were they just involved in an accident?
Or ...... Are they caught up in the truth because of an accident?
Matthew was suddenly a little upset, obviously the whole turmoil was about to come to an end, why did such an unexpected situation suddenly occur!
Ronald Weasley is not dead...... Adams and Caro are not dead...... Even Justin Finchrie won't die......
But when it was Hermione and Neville's turn, it might be a little different!
If Matthew doesn't think anything is happening right now......
Then tomorrow morning, maybe Hermione and Neville will be alive and kicking in front of them...... Perhaps, they will be greeted by two corpses!
No, Neville might still be alive, but Hermione, if she was caught up in the truth, she would definitely die.
Matthew Wakefield closed his eyes.
In any case, he could not watch those two children go to death.
He couldn't be ruthless.
What's more, they really regard themselves as "friends".
So, he made up his mind!
Suddenly, a breeze came out of nowhere......
Then, Matthew's drawer is affected by a mysterious force and opens on its own!
......
"What's the matter, why do I feel the wind in the room?" Malfoy shouted with some fuss.
"It's your delusion, Draco. Noether looked at him puzzled: "How can there be wind in the room? Keep playing chess, my elephant will eat your horse!"
"Alright!" Malfoy also sensed that it was his delusion, and didn't pay much attention to it.
Matthew looked at his open drawer, and he knew exactly who had done it.
He quietly took out the quaint book from the drawer, and then slowly opened it.
On the page that I opened, a line of big green characters appeared:
"Don't go!"
Matthew blinked, he didn't expect the book to "care" about him.
Normally, shouldn't it be this kind of wise book that tempts you to join the adventure and kill yourself......
After taking a quill from the pen holder and dipping it in ink, Matthew wrote calmly:
"I have to go!"
Waited for a moment -
"You don't know what you're up against!"
On the page, the green handwriting reappeared, and the handwriting was very sloppy, as if reflecting the mood of the book...... It's in a hurry for this matter.
And Matthew wrote calmly:
"Of course I do. ”
The book looks a little angry:
"Then why do you have to make such a dangerous choice?" a series of words appeared on the page, and because of the large font, a page could barely fit a page: "She's strong, very, very strong...... Maybe even better than your headmaster!"
Matthew suddenly smiled:
"Do you know who she is?"
The book seems to fall into a brief silence:
"I don't know!"
Matthew dipped in ink again:
"But I know, if it's not really nine out of ten, who would risk their lives?"
The book fell silent for a while, and then the handwriting on it reads:
"I don't understand, where does your confidence come from?"
Matthew slowly wrote:
"If you can really sense what's going on around you, then I think you'll know right away!"
After a pause, he continued:
"For a truly powerful wizard, his strength lies not in his magic, but in his intelligence!"
And the handwriting of the book looks a little sarcastic:
"Do you think you're a powerful wizard?"
Matthew smiled again:
"Of course not!"
He was ready to close the book and put it away in a drawer.
However, at this moment, all the previous handwriting disappeared.
Instead, there is a line of words, neatly written, and it looks deliberate:
"Take me!"
Matthew seemed to hesitate for a moment, and he wrote:
"There's no need for that!"
He added:
"Don't hurt my roommates. ”
Then, he carefully closed the book and tucked it away in a drawer.
......
After about an hour, the house-elves delivered food to the various dormitories.
That's what Professor Slughorn was talking about.
The students, who had been crowded in the common room, returned to their dormitories to eat.
Malfoy and Nott were gnawing on cold quail while playing wizarding chess, so happy.
Matthew, on the other hand, crept into the common room, which was apparently deserted.
He approached the stone gate quietly, and while no one was paying attention, he softly shouted the password:
"Merlin!"
The stone door slowly opened.
Matthew sped out, breathing in the fresh air outside the stone door.
