Chapter 41: What He Said Was So Reasonable, I Was Speechless!

Although Dazhi Temple is a quiet place for Buddhism, but surrounded by the red dust and secular world, now it looks more like a scenic spot, there are often tourists frolicking and taking pictures, no one can imagine that in the downtown Dazhi Temple, the abbot elder turned out to be a profound Zen master.

Cao Ping encountered an embarrassing problem when he entered the door, and he actually asked for a ticket when he went in, but fortunately, Cao Ping brought his actor card and entered the temple.

Cao Ping stopped a monk wearing headphones and asked, "This master, excuse me, where is Master Zhiming?" The monk took off his headphones and pointed to the back, saying, "The abbot is doing morning classes in the Jizo Temple." After saying that, he hummed the Great Compassion Mantra and left.

Cao Ping finally found the Dizang Temple, and found that Master Zhiming was sitting on the futon facing the Bodhisattva's golden body, holding a more than one meter long Qianzhi knocking on a huge wooden fish, and reciting scriptures with a group of monks behind, Cao Ping saw Niu Dazhuang, the burly figure stood out among the monks, but it was a solemn face, followed by Master Zhiming chanting the scriptures, the low voices of the monks echoed in the hall, accompanied by the crisp sound of the wooden fish, solemn and solemn spontaneously.

There is a certain reason why religion can gather from the people, Cao Ping actually saw a look of no sadness or joy, no desire and no desire on Niu Dazhuang's face, and compassion for the heavens and people, I have to say that people with faith live a much easier life, why many leaders in high positions or rich people with rich families believe in religion more than ordinary people, because they have more pressure in their lives, and religion is the best way to transfer pressure.

Cao Ping didn't dare to disturb, and waited quietly on the side, although he had no religious beliefs, he also respected the beliefs of others, he was bored waiting, and he just stood on the stump.

After waiting for more than an hour, the morning class was over, and Cao Ping slowly finished his work, only feeling refreshed. The monks all went out of the hall, Niu Dazhuang followed Master Zhiming behind, Cao Ping greeted him, folded his hands to Master Zhiming, and said: "Hello Master Zhiming, I met in a hurry last time, the boy learned the cause of death of his parents, his emotions were out of control, and he failed to meet with his predecessors. ā€

Master Zhiming smiled and said: "Your grandfather is my old friend, don't say these kind words again, that chalcedony pill is also given to you for the sake of the face of the void, and it can be regarded as the cause and effect of him and you." ā€

Cao Ping raised his head and asked, "What happened to the little monk of Shikong?"

Master Zhiming raised his hand to stop Cao Ping and said, "Since you have already taken the Chalcedony Pill, even if he returns your life-saving grace, the two of you will have nothing to do with it in the future, it will be good for you and for him." ā€

Cao Ping opened his mouth, remembering the armed police force that was directly airborne in the hospital that day, and closed his mouth with interest.

Master Zhiming smiled and said, "Let's go, let's go to the dining hall, it's almost noon." ā€

Cao Ping nodded and followed behind Master Zhiming, the food in the temple is not refused, and anyone can eat it. When he arrived at the dining hall, Cao Ping also took a pair of tableware to cook, the food of the monks in the temple was arranged, Cao Ping went to the Huotou monk to play a dish, a piece of rice, the dish is naturally vegetarian, green vegetable tofu, radish sprouts and the like, no meat and no fish. Meat refers to vegetables that have a foul smell and odor, such as garlic, green onions, leeks, and the like. Fishy refers to meat, such as meat from various animals, and even eggs. Buddhism believes in reincarnation, believing that animals are reincarnated by people who have done evil in their previous lives, and if they eat meat, it is tantamount to eating human corpses. And abstain from eating meat because the "Lengyan Sutra" says: Meat vegetables are raw and hateful, and cooked food helps prostitution. It means that eating meat raw will make people angry, easy to lose their temper, and give birth to hatred; This is also the origin of the saying that eat more green onions and leeks for aphrodisiac.

Cao Ping walked back with the dishes, but saw Niu Dazhuang sitting at a table alone, holding a pot of rice, with more than a dozen chicken legs and a large pot of vegetables in front of him, eating heartily, but the other monks didn't seem to see it.

Cao Ping looked at Niu Dazhuang in surprise, and slowly sat opposite Master Zhiming, Cao Ping looked at it for a long time, turned around and asked Master Zhiming, and said, "Senior Zhiming, Niu Dazhuang is not a monk!"

Venerable Zhiming said, "Niu Dazhuang is his common name, and his Dharma name is Du'e. ā€

Of course, with the Dharma name, he is an official monk, but he actually eats meat so unabashedly? Cao Ping said with an unbelievable face: "Senior Zhiming, the policy in your temple is quite open!"

Master Zhiming glanced at Niu Dazhuang with a smile and said to Cao Ping: "It is recorded in the "Meat Sutra":

The Buddha told the ascetics that he would not eat meat, but he was surprised to see the Buddha eating meat constantly, and asked the Buddha Buddha with three verses in a row.

Those who eat the properly obtained samaga (sesame seeds, millet seeds), jingulaka (melon seeds), shinaga (legumes from the mountains) and leaf fruits, root fruits, and vine fruits, they do not lie for the sake of sensual desires.

Eat the fine food that is given to you by others, you eat the food made of rice, you eat the flesh and the fish.

You said, 'Meat is not suitable for me. 'O relatives of Brahma!, and you have made fish and rice with your heart's heart. I would like to ask, "What are you talking about?"

In the face of sarcasm, insults, and rhetorical questions uttered in the wrath of the lowly emotions, the Buddha replied with the following verses:

Destroying lives, killing, chopping, binding, stealing, lying, cheating, hypocrisy, cohabitation with other people's wives. Meat is these, not meat.

Indulge in lust, gluttonous appetite, stained with dirt, believe in nothingness, injustice, and difficulty in complying. Meat is these, not meat.

Rough, reckless, swearing behind one's back, betraying friends, cold, proud, stingy, refusing to give alms to anyone. Meat is these, not meat. ā€

Cao Ping frowned and listened obscurely, trying to understand: "Master Zhiming, are you saying that meat refers to human desires rather than eating meat itself?"

Master Zhiming looked at Cao Ping with a smile and said, "It's a bit of a meaning, although there is a deviation, but you are not a disciple of my Buddhism, there is no need to get to the bottom of it." The corners of Cao Ping's mouth twitched, there is no need to ask the root cause of your explanation, I suspect that the author is making up the number of words, hey!

Zhiming ate the rice in the bowl carefully, and reached out to pick up the rice grains that fell on the table to eat, he looked at Niu Dazhuang calmly, and said: "Du E has suffered from gigantism since he was a child, so he is so big and looks more vicious. The first time I saw him was five years old, already one meter four, but only fifty-two pounds, thin skin and bones, his parents had no choice, so they sent him to the temple to shave and become a monk. In the first year, he ate half of the incense money in my temple, but he was still thin and sick, and he ate meat so that his nutrition could keep up, and in the second year, his body slowly got better, and he grew stronger and taller, and he was able to control it after surgery at the age of twelve, but he still grew to two meters and one six, and he will be an adult next year. ā€

Cao Ping's eyes widened, and he looked back sharply, looking at Niu Dazhuang's face full of meat, and he didn't believe that it was actually his younger brother who was one year younger than himself.

Niu Dazhuang was eating happily, and when he looked up and saw Cao Ping looking at him like a monster, he couldn't help but be choked, and quickly covered his mouth and coughed, and kept squirting rice grains from his nostrils.

Cao Ping hurriedly turned around, Master Zhiming put down the clean dishes and chopsticks he ate, and said with a smile: "Fortunately, Du Er grew up in the temple since he was a child, but his pure heart has not been contaminated by the world, and his understanding of Buddhism is also progressing rapidly, he is a child with great wisdom, not to mention, he has abundant internal qi, and he is naturally suitable for the outer door to Fu Hujin, and he became my Luohan Hall Dharma Protector King Kong at the age of seventeen, and he is really a talented and intelligent child." ā€

Cao Ping looked back again, but saw that Niu Dazhuang also twisted the rice grains on the table with his fingers to eat, with a sense of responsibility for hard work, and suddenly thought of where the rice grains came from, and Cao Ping suddenly lost his appetite for eating.

After eating, Cao Ping followed Master Zhiming back to the presiding building, Master Zhiming sat on the chair, pointed to the chair and motioned for Cao Ping to sit down, and said, "Tell me, have you encountered anything recently?"

Cao Ping thought about it, but still said his intention straightforwardly: "Don't hide it from the seniors, the juniors do have some doubts in their hearts when they come this time, and I want to ask the seniors to answer." ā€

Master Zhiming nodded and motioned for Cao Ping to continue, Cao Ping thought for a moment and asked, "I want to ask if martial arts still has the meaning of practicing in today's society?"

Gen Zhiming asked rhetorically, "Then what do you think is meaningful?"

Cao Ping said without hesitation: "I think there are a lot of family affection, friendship! travel, study, and things that can promote human progress are meaningful things." ā€

Venerable Zhiming smiled and said, "Then if you think from the perspective of an absolute self, an absolute individual, that is, you don't think about anyone, but from yourself, what do you think is meaningful?"

Cao Ping opened his mouth, he had never thought about a problem from this angle, he thought about it for a long time, but he couldn't think of a meaningful thing from this angle.

Gen Zhiming smiled and said, "I'll say it in words that you can understand! If from a scientific point of view, anything is meaningless, because human life is limited, and if you die, then nothing has anything to do with you, and it won't mean anything to you." Human life is limited, this is a very sad thing, the vast majority of people are unwilling to accept this, are avoiding this problem, through various ways to deceive themselves, such as trying to get more money, pinning their hopes on the development of medicine, but now there is a theory in a small circle in the medical field that the role of medicine is to occasionally cure, often relieve, It can always be comforted, basically the actual effect of most drugs is actually placebo and reliever, medicine can rarely cure a disease, most of the diseases are cured by their own immune system after remission. You have gone to school, you go back and check it yourself, you will know that immortality is a sad myth, a beautiful yearning for people to deceive themselves, this is also the magic of religion, religion provides a place where people can escape the fear of death, so that people do not die in panic, this is the meaning of religion. I think it's meaningful to be able to find one thing in my lifetime that I don't feel like I've lived in vain, otherwise what else can I do?"

Cao Ping's mouth was open, he never thought that such words would come out of the mouth of an elderly monk, but, strangely, what he said was so reasonable, I was speechless!
