Mei Zhenyi: "Since people die as ghosts, I heard from my fellow villagers that after people die, they have to go to the Netherworld, so is there really a Netherworld?"

Sun Simiao: "Yes!"

Mei Zhenyi: "I also heard the nuns in the nunnery say that after death, people enter reincarnation, so is there really a hell?"

Sun Simiao: "Yes!"

At the beginning, Sun Simiao only answered two "yes" words, and did not explain much to Mei Zhenyi, who had just started to apprentice. And now, Mei Zhenyi will have to go to the reincarnation hell in person, not only to bring back Ti Xuan, but also for her own cultivation.

Mei Zhenyi did not go straight to the empty door alone, but sent Mei Dadong and Zhao Qiming to lead dozens of family members to Jiulin Zen Monastery to send worship posts one day in advance, "informing" the temple that he would come to the incense the next day, and send the things of the temple together.

Mei Gongzi's almsgiving this time was full of three carts: one cart was rice, white flour, vegetable oil, soybeans, fruits and vegetables and other monastic grains, all of which were first-class tributes. A car is a full set of daily necessities such as monks' robes, monks' socks, monks' shoes, monks' hats, etc., and each monk in Jiulin Monastery has two sets. One cart is dedicated to the temple pattern silver, copper coins, incense candles, brocade, glass cups, lotus lamps and other Buddhist property.

The three carts were parked outside the gate of the Jiulin Zen Temple, and the things sent in the prayers were also almsged, but the people of the Mei family did not leave, but they sprinkled the open space outside the temple, lit sandalwood and were on duty overnight to welcome the arrival of Mei Gongzi the next day. In fact, the outside of Jiulin Zen Temple was cleaned, and Mei Zhenyi wanted to come to incense and persuade all the idle people to leave.

At dawn on the second day, Mei Zhenyi took a carriage to the gate of Jiulin Zen Temple, the car was gorgeous and the horse was a majestic horse, and the second one could not be found in Manwuzhou. Everything is ready for the incense. Mei Zhenyi did not bring anyone, and walked into the empty door alone with the monk who greeted him in front of the temple. He glared at Maitreya in front of the door, but bowed his head and bowed.

There is such a "big donor" in the temple, the monks on both sides of the courtyard lined up to greet each other, the new abbot Qiao Jue stepped forward and said: "The Lord of Mei is generous, the monks of the temple are admired, the people of the city are praised, and the poor monk Qiao Jue is grateful for the benefactor's house!"

Mei Zhenyi also bowed: "The three cars are insignificant, and there is a sacrifice in front of the Bodhisattva's seat." I also hope that Master Qiao Jue will take over the fate method. ”

The pattern of Jiulin Zen Temple has been introduced before, through the mountain gate is the bluestone paved patio, the eaves converge on all sides, there is a large round bluestone on the ground in the middle, the center of the circle is slightly concave, and there are two symmetrical small holes on it. There is a dark well below that communicates with the earth's leylines, and the mouth of the well is very narrow and sealed with cobblestone, and the divine sense cuts into it far and unfathomable.

The layout of the main hall is even more peculiar. Walking all over the world, you may not see the same temple, it does not enshrine the three Buddhas of the "Daxiong Treasure Hall", the main hall is long and narrow through the ingenious design, naturally divided into two before and after.

On both sides of the apse are eighteen golden-bodied arhats, nine on the left and nine. In the center is Shakyamuni Buddha, and in the corners of both sides of the wall are two Bodhisattvas Manjushri and Puxian riding a green lion and a white elephant. There is also an attic-shaped cloister above, and on the railing of the cloister hangs the statue of the heir of the patriarch of Zen Buddhism.

The last time Mei Zhenyi came to the place, the portrait in the front of the left was blank, and Huineng was standing under the portrait and talking to Zhixu at that time. Revisit the place decades later. The portrait depicts the 33 ancestors of Zen Buddhism and the 6 ancestors of Chinese Zen Buddhism, Hui Neng, sitting on the Great Yu Ridge, opposite the Buddha Buddha Lingshan in the front on the right.

The order in which Qiao Jue led Mei Zhenyi into the incense is also interesting, first directly into the apse, to the Buddha, Manjushri, Puxian, and the eighteen Arhats in turn, and then to the Zen patriarchs of the past dynasties one by one. The portrait is hung in the air, there is no incense case in front, Mei Zhenyi is just respectful and respectful, but when he arrives in front of the statue of Huineng. But he bowed down to the ground with a great prostration.

"Master Mei Shi is not a disciple of Buddhism, why is he bowing to the statue of the Six Ancestors?" Qiao Jue asked on the side.

Mei Zhenyi replied: "Back then, I had the guidance of Master Huineng. ”

After the apse entered the incense, he returned to the front hall, and the layout of this place was different from that year, and it was completed in the last three days. There is a slip of high steps on the left and right sides of the front hall, and the statues on it are the ten halls of Yan Jun: King Qin Guang, King Chujiang, Emperor Song, King of Wuguan, King of Yama, King Bian Cheng, King of Taishan, King of City, King of Equality, King of Reincarnation, five on the left and right, all wearing beaded curtains and crowns and brocades.

In the center of the altar is a bodhisattva. Directly above the main hall, a banner hangs down from the caisson well. The four big characters of "Netherworld Sect Master" in the book turned out to be the Jizo Bodhisattva Dojo. The left and right curtains are written "Hell is not empty" and "Vow not to become a Buddha". This is the great wish of Jizo Bodhisattva. The whole hall is deep and long, there are no windows on both sides, only two dim oil lamps are lit on the altar, and it looks very gloomy in the daytime.

The bodhisattva needs to fulfill the "great wish" of the bodhisattva, which is different from the "grand wish" of the bodhisattva. It is difficult to express this directly, but we can give an example to illustrate that the Mahayana Bodhisattva's great wish is that "the Mahayana Dharma will be practiced in the Middle Earth," while the great wish of the Earthly Tibetan Bodhisattva is "the hell is not empty, and he will not become a Buddha."

Coming to the statue of Jizo Bodhisattva, Qiao Jue lit the incense in his hand on an oil lamp and handed it to Mei Zhenyi, and said: "Mei Gongzi is not a disciple of Buddhism, so it is okay to bow, and there is no need to bow reluctantly." ”

The monks accompanying him were a little surprised when they heard this, Qiao Jue did not call Mei Shizhu but changed his name to Mei Gongzi, and said that he was not a disciple of Buddhism and did not need to bow reluctantly, what kind of truth is this? Just now even Hui Neng statue bowed, but now in front of the Jizo Bodhisattva, how can there be any reason not to worship? He has offered so much property in the temple, is it not pious enough to the heart of the Buddha?

Mei Zhenyi was not surprised, she still knelt on the futon and bowed with a slight smile, but it was a great gift from the Taoist teacher - this is the meaning of respect and advice.

His cultivation of the "Lingshan Mind Method" is close to the extreme, and he can sense that the Jizo Bodhisattva statue in front of him is indeed attached to the incarnation of divine consciousness, and it is completely indistinguishable from the monk Qiao Jue himself beside him. This abbot of Qiao Jue is the Bodhisattva of the Earth, and the deity Tosha is reincarnated into the world, and worshipping the Bodhisattva is like worshipping Qiao Jue.

After getting up after the ceremony, Mei Zhenyi asked, "I want to ask the master for the secret method of cultivation, can I talk about it here in private?"

Qiao Jue nodded, waved his hand and ordered all the monks to leave the main hall and retreat into the backyard, the entire hall and the patio outside the hall became empty, and the door of the Jiulin Zen Temple was also closed. Qiao Jue looked at him and asked, "Mei Gongzi came to the door to enter the incense with a salute." Just tell me about it. ”

Mei Zhenyi: "Yesterday, the master overtook the mountain ghosts and gods into reincarnation, which was a great merit, but my Qingyi Sanshan Cave Heavenly Master was also taken into the reincarnation hell, and I specially asked the master to put her back." ”

Qiao Jue smiled: "The reincarnation hell you said actually refers to the netherworld, and the reincarnation is irreversible, so how can you put it back." "While speaking, he carried the wisdom of the voice, accompanied by the divine thought—

You also know that transcending the reincarnation of lonely souls and wild ghosts is a meritorious act. Since there is no difference between sentient beings, there is no difference between yin and gods, regardless of whether your land is someone else's. Today you find a reason, tomorrow he will find a reason, won't the Yin God stay in the world, this is impossible. The Yin God has entered the Netherworld, and the matter of reincarnation is irreversible.

Mei Zhenyi explained: "She has escaped the limit of her years and has achieved success, so she really doesn't need to enter. At the same time, it was accompanied by the sound of wisdom and supernatural powers—

Tiyo is not a lonely ghost who feels like a ghost. She is a cultivated earth yin god, who has already broken through delusional cultivation, although she died in the past, now she has broken through the limitations of her life and years, and she can continue to practice in the world. If you can't practice in one lifetime. There is nothing to say about entering samsara, but it should not and does not need to be strayed into the netherworld as it is now.

Qiao Jue still smiled and said, "There is no difference between me and the world." "The thought goes like this—

What kind of ghosts do I care you do? Can you still distinguish between a ghost with cultivation and a ghost without cultivation in reincarnation? Staying in the world is really difficult, and it is the right way to go beyond the past life and cultivate again in the next life. No one in this world wants people close to them to leave, but this is the case in the samsara of sentient beings, and it is not something that I can change.

Mei Zhenyi pointed to the brocade curtains on both sides of the Bodhisattva statue and asked, "What do you say about this great wish?" The divine thought hint sent out - since it is not something you can change, then where does the saying "hell is not empty, and you will not become a Buddha" come from?

"You know it since you enter the netherworld. Qiao Jue replied seven words, and the divine thoughts sent out this time were complicated, rolling in and containing multiple layers of artistic conception -

First of all, he told Mei Zhenyi. With your cultivation, you can't fully understand the meaning of this realm, you have to experience it yourself to know what is going on, then explain the momentary experience of sentient beings entering the reincarnation land, and finally explain why the Jizo Bodhisattva is called the leader of the Netherworld, and what is the meaning of the Netherworld?

Where there are spiritual beings in the world, a lifetime is on the verge of death, and the primordial spirit is clear and unhindered, also known as the bardo light. The experiences of this life will be flashed in the altar. This is not just a simple memory, but a strange state of "clarity".

For example, someone once had a crush on a girl when they were teenagers. But he thought that the other party would not take a fancy to him, and he didn't express it, and only now did he know that the girl had the same thoughts as him back then. But he's already "dead."

For example, he never understood what someone said back then, and understood kindness as malice, and now he understands that it was a misunderstanding.

For example, someone has harmed him, but he has been kept in the dark, treating the enemy as a friend, at this time, Lingtai recalled all kinds of experiences, and suddenly thought clearly that he was framed by someone in the first place.

So all this does not need to be described in detail, this moment is a lifetime, the original god is clear but sighs in vain, so the legend in the world is that people have to walk the "Nai He Bridge" after death, and the word "Nai" comes from this. How can the mortal spirit platform of the dying mortal bear this kind of impact? After the flash of the Qingming experience in the first life, all the memories are washed away in the ordinary divine consciousness, and only the unforgettable things are imprinted into the "alayya consciousness", or the sea of suffering, and then return to the reincarnation of heaven and earth.

There are traces of all kinds of past lives in the bitter sea realm in the depths of the spiritual platform, but they can't be seen until this realm.

The so-called lonely souls and wild ghosts, that is, the yin gods who remain in the world, do not have this "bardo light" experience before entering reincarnation, and are still stuck in the obsession that is difficult to eliminate in a lifetime. For example, Tiyo has been thinking: "Did I fall off the cliff, or did someone push me from behind?" Later, it even forgot its name, and this problem has not been figured out.

The Jizo Bodhisattva uses the incredible power of the great magic power to transform into the netherworld in the spiritual platform, which is similar to the immortal world opened up by the golden immortals in the boundless mystical world, but it is not the immortal realm, it is another kind of transformation power issued by the great wish. It seems that the sacrifice made by the Jizo Bodhisattva is very great, who wants the world to be like this? This is his wish to realize the Buddha's fruition and the Buddha's fruit.

There is a saying that says, "I don't go to hell." "Some people may not understand that it is not easy to go to hell, and it is enough to kill people and set fires, so what is worth publicizing? This is actually a misunderstanding, and it refers to the great compassion and selfless ambition of the Jizo Bodhisattva.

The biggest difference between the so-called netherworld and the fairy world is that the fairy world is a place of ascension or rebirth beyond reincarnation, while the netherworld is a place of reincarnation after a lifetime. The earth is hidden in the world, and the great gods are within it. The departed souls can be directly brought from the "Bardo Light Realm" to the "Netherworld", and at the same time, the lonely souls and wild ghosts can be introduced into the Netherworld and re-enter reincarnation.

The Netherworld Realm covers everything that is seen in the Nether Light Realm, but there are other experiences, as for what it is, Monk Qiao Jue did not say it in his thoughts, and Mei Zhenyi only knew when he went.

However, Mei Zhenyi understood one thing, there are two possibilities for the situation of Ti Slip, one is that this little ghost has re-entered reincarnation. That can only wish her good luck in the next life. The second possibility is to use the Netherworld to experience the sea tribulation, just like Mei Zhenyi's experience in the Nai He Yuan, this little ghost has now cultivated to the earth, and this moment is the opportunity.

If Tiyo succeeds in navigating the sea of suffering in the Netherworld, she has two choices. The first is to leave with the memory of the divine consciousness, and the second is to bring her back from the middle people who are trapped in the netherworld, and she is still a yin god and earth immortal. Mei Zhenyi knows very well that this little ghost will not be willing to take the initiative to leave the ground. She must want to return to Qingyi Sanshan in her current capacity, and she and Mei Zhenyi have long agreed to reshape the furnace.

Thinking of this, Mei Zhenyi told Qiao Jue these thoughts in a divine thought, and at the same time said, "I am willing to enter the netherworld and bring her back." ”

"How do you enter?" Qiao Jue didn't use his voice to hear the wisdom and magic power this time, but simply asked four words.

What does that mean? If somebody runs outside the White House and waves, "Obama, come out!" I'm going to tell you about the international situation. "The idea may be good, but why? To talk about this condition with Jizo Bodhisattva is to talk about the Dharma. On the one hand, you have to have this qualification, on the other hand, you have to have this cultivation, and on the other hand, you have to know how to enter and exit the netherworld.

For Mei Zhenyi at this time, these three conditions are not available, but he has his own methods.

He did not answer, strode out of the main hall, turned and stood above the unfathomable dark well in the middle of the courtyard courtyard, took out a small black banner from his bosom, and shook his body. The black banner in his hand shook into a long foot. The courtyard was full of wind. There was a thick fog like a black cloud bursting out of the flag, and countless hazy figures shook in it. It makes a weird, tooth-sore sound.

The black gas unfolded to obscure the sky and poured into the main hall. Mei Zhenyi sacrificed the magic weapon soul refining banner that had never been used for thirty-eight years, which was a relic of Sun Simiao's self-demon Daoming Chongyan, and gave it to Mei Zhenyi when he asked about the ghosts and gods on the flying peak.

Mei Zhenyi drove Ming Chongyan into the countless souls in the banner, surrounded the monk Qiao Jue, and a space was like hell on earth. But in the eyes of outsiders, it's funny to play this evil trick in front of Jizo Bodhisattva, isn't this as good as giving side dishes?

Mei Zhenyi just wanted to "deliver food", he released these living souls and did not attack, but said respectfully: "In this banner, the demon Dao used evil magic to collect the souls of the earth, and they were not allowed to enter the reincarnation and misery. ”

This request is something that Qiao Jue and Monk can't refuse, Mei Zhenyi thought of the same way to enter the netherworld as Tiyo Zhuan, Ti Yo Zhuan is to chase the mountain of ghosts and gods into the land with the body of the Yin God, and now Mei Zhenyi wants to turn into a Yang God and go in with these living souls.

Qiao Jue's figure flashed and came to Mei Zhenyi, sighed and asked, "Why did you come out?"

Mei Zhenyi replied: "The incarnation of the Yang God has changed out, and this flag has another wonderful use for protecting the gods. "The transformation of the Yang God Incarnation is a cultivation realm that he has not been able to break for many years, and it seems that he can't come out without cultivation.

"Look at my eyes. Qiao Jue said four words, and countless souls around him disappeared, and Mei Zhenyi's flesh furnace was still standing in place, but the soul refining banner in his hand was gone. It can be called an artifact with the change of divine thoughts, and the soul refining banner is also an artifact, and it was brought into the netherworld by Mei Zhenyi's yang god, and the banner at this time has become pure white.

Of course, you can't enter and exit the netherworld with a mortal body, Mei Zhenyi entered with a yang god, and at the same time unfolded the soul refining banner to protect himself, if he couldn't break the incarnation transformation, it would be impossible to bring Ti Yu back, and it would be difficult for him to come back. After getting Mingyue's guidance, Mei Zhenyi comprehended the mind of sentient beings, and he was only close to reincarnation, so he entered the netherworld without leaving a way out.

As soon as the soul of the courtyard disappeared, Mei Zhenyi's flesh body was standing there as if in a fixed position, and a little girl's voice said, "Jizo Bodhisattva, he has entered!"

I saw a little girl walking out of the mountain gate hall, wrinkling her little nose and speaking crisply. Qiao Jue, the Bodhisattva of the Great Earth Treasure King, was also slightly stunned, and saluted with one palm: "This fairy child, you are Mingyue, right?"

Mingyue: "Yes, I am Mingyue, I was standing in front of the statue of Maitreya at the mountain gate just now, but I was blocked, and you never saw me." ”

Qiao Jue looked at Mingyue and nodded again and again: "Lingtai is born with unstained white and pure knowledge, no wonder I didn't find you, may I ask what is the matter with Xiantong coming here?"

Mingyue is of course not as powerful as Qiao Jue, but her cultivation state of mind is another extreme, not stained by the gloomy and netherworld aura at all, standing on the other side of the Maitreya statue in the mountain gate hall, Qiao Jue can't detect it if he doesn't deliberately search.

Mingyue pointed at Mei Zhenyi and said: "I don't like you here, I sent him here, now take care of the furnace and wait for him to come back." Let me tell you, Mei Zhenyi is very particular about doing things, and it's not over when he brings it back, he must have something to talk to you about when he comes back, Brother Qingfeng asked me to be a witness. ”
