Chapter 116: Crook Mountain
It was Neville Longbottom and Hermione Granger, two of Matthew's best friends at Hogwarts.
The two of them stood together at the bottom of the stairs, each holding a large bookcase in their hands.
Neville's expression looked excited, and he waved his hand at Matthew enthusiastically.
As for Hermione, she doesn't look very high-natured and seems to be a little tanned.
"Finally seeing you, Matthew!" Neville said with a smile at Matthew, "Hermione and I met in front of the Blotted Bookstore, only to find out that it had been seized for some unknown reason, and then under the guidance of the good Samaritans, we went to Foyle's Bookstore together, where we finally bought the textbooks!"
As he spoke, he waved the large cardboard box in his hand, "Do you want us to take you to Foyle's bookstore?"
"In the first week of the summer vacation, I got all the things I needed for the next semester, and at that time, the bookstore had not been seized. Matthew explained.
"I see, after all, you've spent your entire summer here. Neville said, "How's the summer going, Matthew?"
"It's okay. Matthew replied casually, "What about you?"
"Great!" Neville said excitedly, "I bet you'll regret not coming to my house...... My parents took a leave of absence, and we went to Iceland with Uncle Alge's family...... The view is fantastic and the climate is so comfortable......"
"Sounds good. Matthew nodded, turned his head, and looked at Hermione, "What about you, Hermione?"
Miss Hermione Granger pouted, her face looking unhappy.
"If Padma Patil had told me in advance that she and her sister would be returning to their hometown in India for the summer vacation and staying there for a month and a half, I would never have ...... with them," Hermione shook her head helplessly:
"It's just terrible, this summer, in any way, you can't imagine...... Look, you see how I've been sunned......"
"Hahaha!"
Matthew and Neville looked at each other, then burst out laughing.
......
Hermione and Neville had booked rooms at the Leaky Cauldron Bar, and they were going to stay with Matthew for two days. Then wait for September 1st to head to King's Cross Station and take the express train back to Hogwarts.
Matthew waited for them to put their luggage away, and was about to ask them where they were going to eat at noonโ
Hermione suddenly walked out of the room with a large ginger cat in her arms.
"I'm sorry, you guys go eat first, I'll have to take Crookshank to check it out. Hermione said, "It seems to have been a little uncomfortable since it came back from India. โ
"What's going on?" Matthew looked curiously at the half-magical creature on Hermione's chest (Crookshank Hill is a cross between a raccoon and a Persian cat).
As its owner said, the cat was in poor condition.
Its fluffy, soft ginger hair is dull, the inner figure of the legs and feet is more obvious, and the strange persimmon face looks very weak...... It's like being sick.
Something wasn't right, Matthew thought to himself...... In her previous life, Hermione's cat has always behaved as a "living dragon......
Presumably India's problem?
This poor little guy accidentally drank two sips of Ganges water and then that's it?
Matthew was in his heart and slowly came to a conclusion.
"Then let's go with you!" Neville took the initiative to say, "I'm going to buy some rations for 'Inch' (Neville's owl name), too!"
The three of them decided, and together they came to the backyard of the Leaky Cauldron.
Matthew was already familiar with the road, so he took the initiative to lead the way and entered Diagon Alley with his two friends.
......
Crossing the noisy road, they came to a shop called "Fantastic Animal Park".
The shop is small, and there are many cages hanging densely on the walls, and there are many animal droppings in the cages, which make the air smell a kind of smell.
The sound was extremely noisy, because the little ones in the cage were all chirping and screaming, and the sound was loud.
The witch behind the counter is teaching a wizard how to take care of an owl...... Matthew still has a slight impression of this witch and the hostess of the "Fantastic Zoo", because he bought two toads from her a year ago.
Matthew, Hermione, and Neville could only stay on the sidelines, taking a look at the animals in the cage next to them.
Soon, Matthew found the big tortoise with a hard shell set with gems, and after a year, it had not been sold, probably because it was too expensive.
There are also two huge purple toads, where they gobble up flies while salivating at the same time.
And in the cage at Hermione's feet, a circling cobra suddenly got up and spat out a letter at Hermione, startling Hermione.
The wizard who bought the owl quickly left.
Hermione hurried out of her previous position, then avoided the cages on either side.
"Madame, my cat ......," she said, holding Crookshan to the witch, "I have been to India once, but since I brought it back from India, it has been in a little wrong state. โ
The witch pulled out a pair of thick dark glasses from her pocket, and then took a closer look at the big ginger catโ
"It's Crook Mountain!" she quickly recognized the cat.
After all, Crookhill had been in the shop for more than a decade until it was bought by Miss Hermione Granger a year ago, and Crookshan's distinctive appearance was easy to impress and unforgettable.
"Poor fellow, it must have suffered a lot lately...... "The witch muttered, touching the cat's paws.
Hermione looked down in shame, apparently she had neglected her pet during her time in India.
The witch had pulled out a bunch of strange instruments and poked them at Crook Hill, while the big ugly cat was just lying lazily in front of her, never moving.
"Everything is healthy and there is nothing wrong with it physically. The witch quickly concluded, "The reason why it is like this is probably the stress reaction after a long journey!"
"Then what am I going to do, ma'am?" asked Hermione quickly.
"Feed it more dried fish, Crookshank likes it very much......," replied the witch, "and don't disturb it during this time, it needs to rest!"
"Uh-huh!" Hermione nodded hurriedly.
She bought some dried fish from the shop, and Neville then bought some owl rations.
The trio then returned to the Cauldron together.
