Chapter 45: Asking for Help (Asking for Recommendations)
For Matthew Wakefield –
Before he really came into contact with the wizarding world, all he longed for was to go to Hogwarts to learn some magic, and then return to the Muggle world and live a relaxed and leisurely life for the rest of his life.
And after coming into contact with the wizarding world, the only thing he longs for is to live!
However, looking at the strange book that appeared in front of him again, Matthew's mood did not fluctuate at all......
Instead, he suddenly felt a sense of relief!
I guessed it a long time ago!
It was only a matter of time before the book returned to him.
So when it happened, there was no surprise or fear.
"Do you want me to open you?" Matthew looked at the old book and said softly, "Don't worry, I, Matthew Wakefield, will not touch you even if I jump from the eighth floor of this Hogwarts castle!"
With that, he turned and walked away.
......
In Charms class, Professor Flitwick, who is short, is teaching them how to use the "Lockpicking Charm" -
"The lockpicking spell first appeared in Africa, but we don't know who invented it in the first place. The spell was brought to England by Eldon Esricle in the 17th century and subsequently spread around the world. At that time, Esricle used this new spell to start stealing Muggles and wizarding houses in London. Until Londoner Brigdon Bligh invented the anti-lockpicking spell......"
“...... The mantra is 'Alohomora'. The most popular lockpicking spell before it was 'Open Sesame', but it was quickly eliminated by the Ahora Cave Opening Spell because it sometimes left a smoking hole in the keyhole. ”
The whole class seemed to be very interested in Professor Flitwick's lesson.
However, Matthew Wakefield was a rare distraction during class.
All he had in mind was the book that had reappeared in the Room of Request.
Of course, he wasn't worried that someone would stumble into the Room and get their hands on the book, and get hurt or even die as a result.
After all, there are not many students who know about the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts. And most of the people who can find it here are the more naughty ones.
It is almost impossible for such a student to desperately desire a library in the Room of Requirement, so they will not reach the realm where the book is located.
If there are one or two exceptions, then we can only wish them the best of luck.
In a sense, Matthew seems to have summed up some rules for that book-
Obviously, no matter what you do, try to discard it, or leave it, the book will always come back to you again.
Like that night at the Leaky Cauldron, and this morning.
And at the same time, when the book realizes that there is danger, it will also take the initiative to leave itself.
For example, half a month ago, Draco Malfoy and his party opened their suitcase and came into contact with the book. And when Malfoy and the others were seriously injured, if the book was still in the dormitory, it would inevitably attract the attention of the teachers...... So, it directly chooses to disappear completely from the dormitory......
After it vanished, it never returned, until this morning, when it appeared at the Room of Requirement.
What does this mean?
Accidentally, for that book, if it returned to the Slytherin dormitory, it would be in danger.
In other words, there's a good chance that the teachers at Hogwarts know where it came from, and even have a way to destroy it!
To be honest, this idea made Matthew a little jubilant for a while!
Vampire monster attacks are on the back burner, and the threat of a mysterious book that could easily kill people is real.
However, which teacher should I turn to for help?
The Rector, Professor Gellert Grindelwald, immediately ruled out the ...... During his month-long stay at Hogwarts, Matthew hadn't seen Professor Grindelwald again, except for the one at the opening party. He even wondered if Professor Grindelwald had ever returned to Hogwarts.
As those upperclassmen say—
"Professor Grindelwald is busy!"
And what about the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Vita Rozier?
Matthew thought for a moment and shook his head slightly.
Whenever he came into close contact with Professor Rozier, Matthew couldn't help but feel a lot of pressure...... That woman who looks young and beautiful on the outside is actually very, very scary!
It's not just the blood-like liquid on the floor of the vice-principal's office, but the familiar smell that wafts from the cupboards...... And Matthew's deepest memory of Vita Rozier in his previous life was when she killed an infant baby in Paris in 1927 on the orders of Grindelwald with the Avada Death Curse.
Whether Professor Rozier was the perpetrator of the attack or not, Matthew felt it was best to stay away from her.
Who else......
Professor Edward Troca?
In fact, the first face that came to Matthew's mind was him.
Although Professor Troka is not good-looking, he can give Matthew a sense of trust in the dark...... Especially after his first Transfiguration lesson, when he taught himself some details about the use of Transfiguration......
Deep down, Matthew has always felt that Professor Troka is a good person!
Maybe it's because of the bonus of the position of "Transfiguration Professor...... You must know the Hogwarts in my memory in my previous life, and the people who held this position were Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall.
But either way, Professor Troka was the first suspect in the attack.
He was the first to be present at the scene of both attacks...... This cannot be described as a mere coincidence.
Even if he wasn't the murderer, he must have been exposed to the inside story of some attacks!
Therefore, I must not ask Professor Troka for help.
......
So...... Who else?
In Matthew's mind, a chubby, bald old man like a walrus suddenly appeared.
Horace Slughorn, Head of Slytherin.
Although he is a Potions teacher, judging from the Horcruxes in Slughorn's memories of his previous life, he should have mastered a lot of extreme magical knowledge.
Although, not particularly reliable......
But at the very least, this Slytherin heading, who has basically the same memories as his previous life, will not suddenly bite his neck and suck his own blood.
"Why don't you give it a try!"
Matthew made up his mind.
