Chapter 394: Zen Antiques
The early winter has arrived, and the north is getting colder.
"It's been a long time......
On the Songyue Shaolin Mountain, a moon-white figure stood happily, holy and incomprehensible.
Shi Zhixuan's bald head was bright, his hand plucked the prayer beads, he raised his eyes and stared ahead, and let out an inexplicable emotion from his mouth.
The gray stone carving mountain gate is more than six zhang high, simple and atmospheric, on the plaque in the middle, the four black lacquer characters of "Songshan Shaolin" are printed into the eye, giving people a sense of majestic and ancient, full of Zen.
Although this Shaolin is not the other Shaolin, and Shi Zhixuan is the first heir to Zen Buddhism in this life, Shaolin Temple will sooner or later become one of the many temples under his command, and he can still feel strange when he sees this specious mountain gate.
After all, although Shaolin in his previous life finally counterattacked him, but before, with the majestic power of martial arts, he pressed him for more than ten years, making him scruple and difficult to sleep!
"Things are not people, and the vicissitudes of life...... That's it!"
Muttering a sigh, Shi Zhixuan walked through the mountain gate, and Shi Shiran walked towards the main gate of the temple.
Hojo-in.
"Huhu...... Whoop ......"
The energy was in the air, and the grass and trees trembled.
The two figures, one red and one white, suddenly flickered, the fist strength and palm wind roared and stirred, and the sound of "fluffy ......" was endless.
Not far away, Daoxin and a one-armed thin old monk stood quietly under the corridor, staring at the battle, and from time to time slightly bowed their heads in praise.
The strong wind that burst out of the field swept violently, but one or two people in front of them seemed to encounter some invisible but tangible obstacles, like the angry tide that hit a huge reef, and had to escape from the left and right.
Daoxin clearly felt that the two of them in the field were empty. One move, one style, warm and smooth. No killing intent. But in fact, they are strictly disciplined, and their strength is strong and there is no trace of it.
I can't help but secretly wonder: I haven't seen him for a few months, and the Zen skills of the great master have become more and more profound and unfathomable, and he has been able to sway freely for so long under the full temptation of the master, not only does not fall behind, but also has more than enough......
After a few moments, the two figures parted and stopped fighting.
Shi Zhixuan saluted and said, "Thank you for your advice!"
Opposite side. It is a middle-aged monk wearing a gray monk's robe and a big red robe, with thick eyebrows and big eyes, and just the right black beard on his lips and chin.
Seeing that Shi Zhixuan was young, but he was calm and relaxed from beginning to end, without a trace of youthful vigor and arrogance or ruthlessness, Seng Can was secretly satisfied, and praised sincerely: "Good." Good...... There are successors to our sect. ”
The thin old monk approached with Daoxin, and the only remaining right hand played with the rosary. Looking at Shi Zhixuan, he said lightly: "Martial arts to such a level, it is enough to protect yourself and subdue demons."
However, we empty monks, the most taboo is to fight for victory, only to understand the Zen law, to purify all sentient beings, the right way, you can't put the cart before the horse!" The voice was hoarse, and there was an unshakable firmness in the mildness.
"The disciple respectfully obeys the teachings of the Taishi Ancestor, and does not dare to forget it!" Although Shi Zhixuan lowered his eyebrows and bowed his head, he replied respectfully, but he also clearly felt that this old monk was full of profound and broad eyes that transcended the world's intelligence, and seemed to be able to see through every intention in his heart, without negligence or omission......
What made him secretly surprised was that the artistic conception of this old monk Zen was so high that he had only seen it in his life, or even the first in the world, worthy of being the personal disciple of Bodhidharma, the second ancestor of Zen Buddhism, Hui Ke!
Of course, the so-called "Second Ancestor", "Third Ancestor", and "Fourth Ancestor" are all honorific titles of the descendants after Hui Ke, Seng Can, and Daoxin passed away, and during their lifetimes, they may be called the first generation of Zen masters.
After nearly 20 years of Zen practice, Shi Zhixuan was the first time to meet Hui Ke and Seng Can, the two real founders of Zen Buddhism.
If you talk about the depth of Zen practice, Hui Ke, Seng Can, and Daoxin are naturally in order, but if you talk about the high combat power of martial arts, it is just the opposite.
In Shi Zhixuan's induction, Hui Ke, who is nearly 100 years old, has only just passed the level of the grandmaster level, and if he fights with his hands, he can't hold three or five moves under Daoxin's hands.
And the sixty or seventy-year-old monk can only be at the middle level of the grandmaster, don't look at the "impressive" fight with Shi Zhixuan just now, if it is really calculated, he can receive dozens of tricks at most.
If you look at it in terms of martial arts, the rise of the Zen sect master is indeed continuing to rise!
However, if it is about the comprehension of the heavenly dao people's hearts, Shi Zhixuan thinks to himself, in the world, in addition to himself and Xiang Yutian, it should be this old monk Hui Ke with the highest attainments and the deepest spiritual intelligence.
However, unlike him and Xiang Yutian, the old monk Hui Ke did not go deep into the martial arts, and practiced martial arts and practiced qi only at a superficial level, but focused on the path of cultivating the mind of Tianzhu's orthodox Buddhism.
That is to say, it is biased towards opening wisdom, pursuing Zen epiphany, and becoming enlightened, that is, becoming a Buddha!
In the eyes of people like Shi Zhixuan, who are cultivating the Dan Dao, the old monk Hui Ke just doesn't care about cultivating his life, and regards the body as a stinky skin, but instead participates in Zen and enlightenment with all his heart and soul, cultivating his mind and cultivating his nature, which is similar to the Tianyuan Danfa.
From the essence of the practice of 'things are divided into five elements, gods are divided into five kinds, Dan is born among them, and immortals and Buddhas have no sect', the five gods of yin, yang, yuan, saint, and jade have their own wonders.
And the old monk Hui Ke seems to be only at the level of the 'Out of the Yin God', and it is unreasonable to be far from Shi Zhixuan's 'Out of the Yang God' realm, but the old monk has already touched the most mysterious of the five gods, known as the holy spirit of the source of wisdom.
Perhaps the old monk suddenly realized that he would immediately attain the Great Spiritual Attainment (similar to the realm of refining the void and merging the Dao), and the light of the Buddha would shine, that is, he would become a Buddha and ascend to the Elysian World.
It's a pity that the old monk is nearly 100 years old, and his time is short, according to Shi Zhixuan's estimate, it is unlikely that he will reach that state in his life.
Despite this, compared with the old monks, the Zen cultivation of the four great holy monks such as the Four Patriarchs Daoxin is certainly extraordinary, but it can only be regarded as the 'grandson's generation......
When Shi Zhixuan was quietly slandering, Hui Ke said earnestly: "More than fifty years ago, my master Bodhidharma brought Zen to Middle Earth, and everyone did not believe it at that time.
Until I have expressed my heart for decades, everyone still believes but does not practice, and then the monks have set up altars everywhere for many years to openly preach the Dharma, and only then can everyone have faith and cultivation......"
As soon as these words came out, not only Hui Ke's own tone was embarrassed, but even Seng Can's and Daoxin's feelings were also emotional.
Others are only jealous of the prosperity of Buddhism, like flowers blooming, but among Buddhism, there are also many factions, falling against each other, and the difficulties of the initial propagation of the Dharma by the later sects are often beyond the imagination of outsiders.
Even if Hui Ke is a person with superior martial arts, he was squeezed out by his peers with all his might, and under the open guns and hidden arrows, he couldn't help but wander in front of the ghost gate many times.
As a result, the martial arts of Zen monks are stronger and stronger from generation to generation, and they may not be forced to be helpless, and the reason why they grow wise after eating a trench!
Shi Zhixuan looked focused on his face, as if he was listening attentively, but in fact, he secretly sighed in his heart: It is indeed worthy of being a Zen Buddhism that will be passed down through the ages in the future, and the epoch-making advanced brainwashing education method of remembering bitterness and sweetness is now popular!
Of course, observing the three generations of Hui Ke, Seng Can, and Daoxin, they are one resolute, one calm, and one gentle, and their temperaments are completely different......
In this era, the character and temperament of the disciple are not like the master, which is absolutely unforgivable, and even has no chance of inheriting the mantle, which is almost equivalent to the son not being like the father.
As for the consequences of the son not being like the father in this era?
Tsk, at least not loved by the father, or even suspected of being the seed of the old king next door, no property inheritance, or loss of life......
Just like throughout the ages, many emperors wanted to abolish the crown prince with all their hearts, precisely because they felt that the prince was 'not like himself', that is, his temperament was not like himself!
Even if the Cihang Jingzhai and Yin Sect, which now dominate the two realms of Buddhism and demons, the successors of each generation, regardless of personality and temperament, are seven or eight points similar to the teacher, and because of this, they are widely praised by the predecessors in the rivers and lakes......
As for the situation like Zen Buddhism, where the personality of one generation is completely different from that of the next, in the eyes of most people, it is a sign that one generation is not as good as the next, and it is about to decline.
Of course, in Shi Zhixuan's view, it is precisely because Zen Buddhism has been shrewd people from generation to generation, and his wisdom and vision are extraordinary, so he does not blindly ask his heirs to be "like himself".
After all, the situation in Zen Buddhism has changed rapidly for decades, and it is in need of different types of suzerains to inherit and control the growing boat of Zen Buddhism and make it move towards a wider and smoother river.
Since the time of Bodhidharma Hui Ke, the Zen temple has few villains, no reputation, no one to worship, and it has been squeezed out and suppressed by the inherent forces of Buddhism, so it is necessary for Hui Ke to be such a persevering and indomitable founder, to travel around, to promote Zen Buddhism among the Chinese scholars, and open up the situation.
In the era when Seng Chan took over the baton, Zen Buddhism had become well-known among the dignitaries and dignitaries, so it was necessary to rely on this to march to the common people.
The first is to change the strategy of propagating the Dharma from the upper echelons to the people who follow the fate of the villagers; the second is to change the construction of monasteries in urban areas to preaching in the deep mountains and remote areas; the third is to change the "head tuoxing" that lives in impermanence to openly set up altars to preach the Dharma; and the fourth is to change the "non-establishment of writing" to the preaching of the scriptures......
And now in the era of Taoism, Zen Buddhism has become one of the many large temples and small temples, the rising star of Buddhism that connects the north and the south, and one of the mainstream major sects.
The main work of Daoxin on weekdays is to continue to build more temples in the north and south of the river, improve and promote the concept of Zen Buddhism, make Zen Buddhism a behemoth in Buddhism, and even replace it with Cihang Jingzhai and Jingnian Zen Temple, leading Buddhism and commanding the righteous path...... (To be continued.) )
