Chapter 0034: The Cregan Cavalry
On the avenue outside Fort Klegane, a group of men and horses came at a constant speed. In the middle of the team, a large flag was erected, and a peacock with an open screen on the flag was lifelike.
There were several prisoner vans in the middle of the procession, and more than a dozen people were held in them, including old and young, men and women.
Addo Chariot led several of his guards to the front.
To the left and right and behind the prisoner cart were the most elite cavalry of the Chariot family.
This cavalry contingent consisted of fifty people.
With a shrill iron whistle, shouting, horses' hooves, and swords clashing rang out in the fort. Soon, a cavalry detachment assembled from Fort Klegan with spears in hand, lined up, and attacked.
The knight at the head was none other than Sweetmouth Raffard Clegane. His chest armor is newly engraved with the Clegane's crest: a three-headed roaring hound.
Only those who have been given the surname Clegane are eligible to engrave the Clegane family crest and wear the Clegane family crest pin on clothing.
A banner of three black dogs with a yellow background in a column also moved with the cavalry ranks.
The cavalry that met the enemy all wore red cloaks, which was the traditional color of the Western Army. The same color as the red cloak worn by the cavalry of the House of Chariot.
Fort Krigan's three-headed hound banner is commanded by a strong, dark-skinned cavalryman who is the miner Blackstone.
At the head of the line are Gregor 's four King Kongs: the knight Sweetmouth Ralphd Clegane, the executioner Dunson, the brain-dead Polliver, and the notepad Mark.
The four of them are surrounded by a petite figure: Julie Clegane.
Julie is dressed in a light and well-fitting armor, and her elbows and knees are covered with leather guards, which can ensure her flexibility in her movements. Julie had a sword belt around her waist with a sword and a dagger with a dagger, a bow on her back, and a quiver around her waist, which was full of arrows.
Fort Kregon was able to react so quickly because they were being trained as cavalry in the courtyard of Fort Krigan.
Each of the cavalrymen carried a bow and a quiver around their waists.
Julie is attacking with bows and arrowsββ which is the order of Lord Gregor.
There is no negotiation, it is an order.
Master Gregor thought that Julie was too small, her arm bones were also small, and her strength was naturally lacking compared to that of men, and that she would lose her strength advantage in hand-to-hand combat, so she ordered Julie Clegane to focus on archery.
However, whether it is to practice spearmanship, swordsmanship, or sword and archery, strength is required.
The power required to open a longbow and hard arrows is not inferior to the power of practicing a sword.
Julie's practice sword, which is filled with lead, is meant to help her develop the strength in her arms.
Gregor's Four King Kongs embraced the Julie clan in the middle, because Julie was the adopted daughter of Lord Gregor. Lord Gregor married two wives, both of which unfortunately broke their necks and died, leaving no children for Gregor to leave, so her adopted daughter Julie Clegane became the only young lady in the important family of Fort Kregan.
None of the four murderous demons under Lord Gregor's command dared to bully her.
*
Addo Chariot restrained the warhorse.
His team stopped together.
Addo was astonished to see a cavalry rushing out of Fort Klegon, and he saw that the cavalry force exceeded fifty men.
The cavalry roared, and the wind blew the banner of the three hounds in the ranks, making a crackling sound.
"Twenty days, but where did Lord Gregor get the cavalry?" said Addo.
He was followed by the calmest fourth of the seven brothers: Adam Charlotte.
Adam was a good spearman.
"Is it Duke Tywin's Guards Cavalry Regiment?"
Ser Gregor is the captain of the Duke Tywin's guard, in charge of a team of five hundred cavalry, and is responsible for keeping Tywin safe. It's just that it's peacetime, and Duke Tywin doesn't have to follow a cavalry team of 500 men every day.
"Probably yes!" said Addo Chariot.
The cavalry that came was all fully armed, with armor and helmets, long swords and horses, and round shields on their backs. The cavalry corps with such excellent equipment was most likely the Duke of Tywin's Guards Cavalry Regiment.
"Not really!" Adam stared at the wind-swept band, "and their banner was a three-headed hound. β
If it is the cavalry of Duke Tywin, the banner will be the Golden Lion Banner.
"It's Sir Gregor's personal cavalry!" Ado's voice revealed shock.
They all knew that Gregor was a poor bastard, and he ate with Duke Tywin. Usually, there are only three people in his Klegane fort: a cook, a servant, and a juvenile officer. There were no more than eleven families in his domain, and he was a small nobleman with the smallest territory and the fewest people among the nobles.
"Magic Mountain used the golden dragon we compensated him to buy a cavalry. Adam's tone was depressed.
"Maybe he's hiring mercenaries. Ado's heart suddenly felt sour.
"It won't be a mercenary, the fame of the Magic Mountain and the dual status of Duke Tywin's general and captain of the guard, and his small territory, he doesn't need mercenaries to protect his small territory. β
But he didn't have to rely on his own personal cavalry to protect his territory. Who would dare to touch his territory?" Ado retorted to the fourth brother.
*
The sound of horses' hooves sounded, and the Klegane cavalry came to the front. Ado noticed the three-headed hound emblem on Sweetbeav's armor, and saw the petite figure in the center. Julie Clegane was dressed and wore a helmet, and no one could see her face.
But both Adam and Adam guessed who the petite figure was.
Sweet-mouthed Raff's mouth let out a sharp whistle, and the team behind him quickly separated, and everyone with spears in their hands surrounded the team of Chariot. Ado was amazed at the sound that came out of Sweet-Mouthed Raff's mouth, which he had never heard before.
Adam and his soldiers also did not hear the sound of the iron whistle. In this world, when there is a war, the general and the centurion are all shouting. Because the children of the nobility have to lead the troops to fight when they are fighting, they will cultivate shouting from an early age. The iron-making process in this world was developed, but the iron whistle was not invented.
As a native of another civilization, Gregor effortlessly invented the Iron Whistle, and in two days, he fused the various commands of the battle into the sound of the Iron Whistle, and used it to train the cavalry to advance and retreat.
The sound of an iron whistle is much more penetrating and recognizable than a shout in the throat, especially in a melee in the armies.
Adam also noticed that the cavalrymen carried two muskets each, in addition to swords and spears.
It was an all-round trained cavalry corps with a bow on their backs and quivers around their waists.
Arrows are fired from a distance, and the guns are projected at medium distance.
The cavalry of the Chariot family was surrounded, and immediately became a fish on the board.
The petite figure in the center took off her helmet, heroic, cold as ice, and her thin lips revealed cold and coldness, like two people when she followed the mines, but she was indeed Julie Clegane.
