It seems that it will be difficult for the two of us to arrive as scheduled!"

Yiyun: "Everything that has appearance is vain, and it should have no place to live, but its heart should be born." Isn't this an obsession that has not been broken, and the roots of the dust have not been broken?"

The fat monk had some Zen enlightenment and said to his junior brother, but he was cut off by his singing and laughing, and said: This "former dynasty monk wearing a robe" ridiculed naturally Dongpo monk Su Shi, and this "later monk wearing a bamboo hat" is laughing at himself. The thin monk was proud, but he was not convinced by the fat monk's words, and asked, "What do you mean by this, senior brother?"

"Amitabha!" the fat monk said with his hands folded, "The monk's clothes are monk's clothes, and the three clothes are the clothes of dung sweeping." Shoes are grass shoes, and cattails are ruthless beings. The head is bald, and the shaved body has no family affection. These three things are inherently ruthless things, and even if they are soaked in the rain, what kind of trouble do they have for you, junior brother? Therefore, the 'purity' attained by the junior disciple is because you are trapped by the ruthlessness outside of your body, but it is not necessarily 'really pure'. ”

After hearing this, the thin monk seemed to understand and seemed to be puzzled, "If you say so, the hat on the head of the senior brother is a gift from Zen Master Kechun before leaving." The disciples all said that this is the Zen master to pass on the hat to you as a letter of faith, which means that I hope that in the future, you will inherit the mantle of the Zen master. This hat is a hat that entrusts the infinite kindness of the Zen master, but the senior brother is willing to use it to block the rain, but is it because he has achieved true purity?"

The fat monk smiled faintly: "What does the senior brother think this hat is?"

The thin monk thought for a while and replied with a smile: "Although this hat is said to be a thing that Zen Master Kechun carries with him, it is not a Dharma weapon in my Buddhism, and secondly, the workmanship of materials is not very unusual. If there is any kind of faith, I don't think so. To put it bluntly, in my opinion, this thing has been worn by the Zen master for several years, and it is just a tattered old thing!"

"Amitabha, good and good! The senior brother is really extraordinary. You need to know that purity is not in things but in people, not outside but in the heart. The fat monk happily replied, "Senior brother, although you are in the rain, you have put your heart on the Taoist temple of Xuanxuzi Daoist. If you don't have your body and mind in one place, you can't be truly pure!"

What I have been thinking all the way is indeed on the letter of the Taoist chief, but I am too anxious. The senior brother is as wise as a torch, and he teaches very much. But I don't know how I can be as pure as my brother?"

The fat monk shook his head and sighed: "Amitabha! I'm ashamed to say it, but Zen Master Chun has the grace of enlightenment to me. This hat is what he used to carry with him, and seeing things and thinking about people often teaches me to be worried. Concern is obsession, and I dare not claim to be pure. Although I can argue with others about the pure way, I can't restrain myself, and I can't understand it thoroughly. If I want to get rid of distracting thoughts, I am afraid that I will have to borrow something that arouses my thoughts to wake up from time to time, and this must be the intention of the Zen master to give me a hat......

The thin monk also sighed: "It turns out that the senior brother is also so confused. Presumably, this pure method can only be broken by the cultivation of Zen Master Kechun!".

The fat monk said: "Amitabha! The senior brother does not know, the Zen master once told me that the safety of the world and the survival of the Lingyin Temple are his obsessions for decades, so he has not been able to understand the word 'pure'. ”

The thin monk was puzzled and said, "The Zen master is too humble! Isn't it a matter of the monks to purify the common people in the world and magnify the Buddhism of the sect? Why does the Zen master say that he is obsessed?"

The fat monk said slowly: "I also asked Zen Master Yu. The Zen master said that there is nothing wrong with being a good family member and promoting the Dharma. However, all the wishes for the protection of all living beings and the eternal existence of the Dharma are attachments, so they are afflicted and cannot be purified. ”

The thin monk smiled bitterly: "Isn't that only the Buddha is pure?"

The fat monk said: "Amitabha! In fact, all the ancestors of Zen Buddhism have been enlightened in the pure method......"

The thin monk couldn't help but interrupt and asked, "My predecessor of Lingyin Temple, Patriarch Jidian, has been in the hustle and bustle of the world since he first entered the Buddhist gate, but is it also counted among them?"

The fat monk replied heartily: "My Dongtu Zen Buddhism has started from the first ancestor Dharma, and it refers to the human heart and the method of cultivation. The patriarch of Jidian will flow the body into the evil and seems to be crazy, but in fact, he enters Zen with madness, and establishes goodness with the heart of the Buddha. The common name of Jidian Patriarch is Xiuyuan, and his life is all in one 'Yuan'. It is fate for him to become a monk, it is fate to do good deeds and overcome misfortune, and it is also fate to come and go in hiding. The world's causes arise and perishe, and there is such a purity!"

The thin monk Nahan said: "If you say so, we monks will be like his old man, as long as we uphold the good karma of the Buddhist family, what kind of wine ** forest and what rules and precepts do we care about?"

The fat monk said: "Amitabha! He drank alcohol and ate meat, and pretended to be crazy and crazy to hide his virtue and decorate his holy appearance, so that he could facilitate his passage to and from the world. If the disciples of my generation can't see the nature of their hearts and are only obsessed with the appearance of the ancestor of Jidian, I am afraid that they will embark on the path of evil demons!"

The thin monk was shocked: "Amitabha! Sins and sins! I have always only known the brilliance of the patriarch, if it weren't for the senior brother's enlightenment, I would have gone astray......"

The fat monk said: "The junior brother is a sincere Buddha, but he likes to hunt for strange things, so he doesn't have to blame himself too much." ”

The fat monk paused and continued: "In fact, if you say that you have attained the Great Dao in purity, you are not the only disciple of my Buddhist family. The great sages and saints who have come from all over the past dynasties are all as good as them. Most of them sought the Tao in their early years, and after going through extraordinary hardships, they finally achieved positive results, and in the end, they were able to put aside their life's work and investigate the fate of life and death. ”

The more the thin monk listened, the more curious he became, and asked, "I don't know if there are one or two such people in the rivers and lakes?"

The fat monk nodded and smiled: "I am also interested in talking to my junior brother." In my opinion, Zhang Zhenren of the Wudang Mountain Creation School and the Huangshan Ancestor of Tiandu Peak can all be called this kind of person. They reach the Zen of heaven and earth, understand the vicissitudes of life, and create unparalleled martial arts in the world, but they let go of fame and fortune in the rivers and lakes, and teach people to live and admire. ”

The thin monk said: "One of the two seniors mentioned by the senior brother is missing, and it is rumored in the rivers and lakes that he has become an immortal. The other is said to have traveled east to Fusang and never returned, and no one has been seen since. Most of the deeds of these two predecessors are fabricated, but they are just illusory people. ”

The fat monk waved his hand and said: "Senior brother's words are wrong! Although the trace of that real person is not noticed, there is the fact that the Wudang faction founded is the leader of today's martial arts, and there is also the fact that Emperor Taizu once sent someone to visit, but it is not clear that there is no such person." Although the ancestor of Huangshan is also hidden, there are people in Huizhou who have seen the cultivators of Huangshan, and most of them are also his personal disciples. How can you say it's all illusory?"

The fat monk knew that his junior brother liked to hear strange anecdotes, and he talked about the way of purity, which happened to coincide with the deeds of several masters outside the world he had heard, and he was also a junior and disciple, and then said: "Another example is the founding military division of this dynasty, sincerity Bo Liu Bowen, who has the talent of passing through the heavens and latitudes, and knows the art of yin and yang Dunjia, and knows the way of creation of the mandate of heaven." When the world is stable, he will retire successfully, and his life is like returning to the clouds in the sky, which can be described as 'dragging the clouds from the dragon to back, without a heart but as if he has a heart'. In fact, if a person is like a cloud and has no heart, then he will have a pure heart. ”

The fat monk didn't know what he meant, and asked, "What does it mean that 'no evil is better than evil'?"
