Rebel against me

readx;

A mix of the countryside

On January 11, 1814, on the 10th day of December in the 18th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty, a rebel who later caused chaos in most of China was born in Guanlubu Village, Huaxian County, Guangdong Province. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. biqUgE怂 ļ½‰ļ½Žļ½†ļ½

If it is not deliberately fabricated, there should be nothing special about this person's birth: red light, strange fragrance, and a piece of jade or Daluo Tianxian in his mouth

Those are all myths woven by boring literati.

It's just nonsense, it's just a lie.

Guanlubu is about 90 miles away from the provincial capital of Guangzhou and is a small remote village.

The rebel's real name is Hong Renkun, and his nickname is Huoxiu. His father, Hong Jingyang, served as a village cadre in Tunzili, and Bo had a lot of land, and his situation was good, so he could be regarded as a middle-class family. Hong Renkun is three, and there are two older brothers on it. His two elder brothers did not study, and he was the only one who fantasized about embarking on the road of official career through studying, getting promoted and making a fortune, and changing his fate. Hong Renkun entered a private school at the age of 7 and participated in the township examination at the age of 14.

History has ruthlessly rejected this shabby reader.

Rebellion is a distant thing, and at the moment, Hong Renkun urgently needs to solve how to cope with his embarrassing rural life.

At the age of 18, he worked as a temporary teacher at a village school in his hometown, teaching literacy and basic cultural knowledge to children. This was also the occupation that many children engaged in at that time. Its income is a little subsistence and clothing, which is not much better than that of ordinary poor peasants!

may also be depressed, Hong Renkun contracted gambling problems and soaked in the casino all day long. Some people also say that he once escorted tobacco and foreign goods to and from the borders of Guangdong, Guangxi and Hunan, making huge profits.

In 1837, the tall Hong Renkun was walking on a secluded mountain road with an oil-paper umbrella in his pocket, and he still went to Guangzhou to take an exam. This is the third time. The successive failures made his mood gloomy and heavy: is it because my essay is not good, the examiner has no eyes, or does God have to torture an immortal genius with a great responsibility?

Soon, the list was released, and Hong Renkun once again fell to Sun Shan.

Hong Renkun was greatly stimulated and returned home. Coupled with the cold all the way, after returning to Guanlubu Village, he was sick in bed and in a coma. He was sick for more than 40 days, and after waking up, he sometimes sang and cried, sometimes jumped around, claiming that he had gone to heaven, and was ordered to kill demons and demons.

The Hong family was extremely frightened.

There was also talk in the village that Hong Renkun had gone crazy.

In order to prevent him from going out and hurting others, Hong's brother tied him firmly to his home with ropes and cleaned him up a few times because he was crazy.

By the way, when Hong Renkun was wandering aimlessly on the streets of Guangzhou after his failure this time, a man named Liang Fa stuffed him with a pamphlet to advise the world and a book that promoted simple Christian teachings. Hong Renkun was absent-minded. At that time, neither Hong Renkun nor the compiler Liang Fa would have imagined that such an inconspicuous pamphlet would trigger a riot that lasted for more than ten years and shocked the whole world, killing as many as 70 million people.

In this extremely dissatisfied situation, Hong Renkun wrote a narrative poem:

Hold the right to kill the enemy, cut the evil and leave the right to solve the people's suspense.

Outside the northwest rivers and mountains, the sound vibrates the southeast sun and moon.

Spread his claws, as if he was afraid of Yun Lu's body, why was he afraid of Han Cheng's deviation.

The wind and thunder inspire three thousand waves, and the flying dragon is fixed in the sky.

Dissatisfaction has gone out of shape. This poor rural intellectual, what is circling in his mind is no longer what he wants to be an official and seek fame. Ambition swelled into a kind of terror in his heart, and the king had no way, and he could take his place. I can't imagine what this teacher in Huaxian County, Guangdong will be like once he has the right to kill?

I hope it's just a few crazy words from the showman

A difficult and bumpy road to the imperial examination.

After Hong Renkun fell seriously ill, he continued to hide in a secluded mountain village to teach. His temperament has changed greatly, he is quiet and introverted, and he does not smile and reads some history, geography and stories and legends in his spare time.

In the past five years, life has been quite peaceful.

When he was about 25 years old, Hong Renkun got married, and his wife's surname was Lai Lianying, who was from Jiuguan Village at the foot of Yaji Mountain.

In the spring of the twenty-third year of Daoguang in 1843, Hong Renkun came to Guangzhou again and participated in the township examination for the fourth and last time. Maybe he still has a fluke mentality, or perhaps, his dream of becoming an official has not been completely shattered. Give it a try, and you might be able to do it!

The harsh reality shattered his hopes once again.

The imperial examination of the Qing Dynasty stubbornly rejected a person who was later written into modern Chinese history, and he threw his pen to the ground and sighed, "Wait for me to open a branch and get a scholar myself." "That's how history was made. This year, Hong Renkun was 31 years old.

If you are not an official, you will rebel

In 1836, or a little earlier, if history had accepted this poor and sour talent, let him successfully pass the township examination, and then pass the general examination and the palace examination, and the emperor would have given him the rank and rank, and the official was promoted to the knighthood, perhaps there would not have been the peasant rebellion that lasted for more than ten years?

However, history does not allow assumptions.

There are thousands of students who take the exam, and thousands of scholars who fall behind. Those who made the list were all happy, and if they didn't hit it, they were depressed, packed up their stationery and read it again, so that they could wait for three years, right? Xiucai rebelled, and it didn't work out for three years. However, Hong Renkun of Huaxian County shouted "Wait for me to open a branch and take the people of the world", which is a bit like Huangchao.

Huang Chao is also a talent, he has failed many times, he stood in front of the gate of Chang'an City, sighed, and wrote a poem:

When autumn comes on September 8, I will kill a hundred flowers when the flowers bloom.

The heavenly incense array penetrates Chang'an, and the city is full of golden armor.

In fact, it is not terrible to write two fierce poems and make a few complaints, and you can do it if you know a few words. Don't say "with golden armor", even with missiles, no one cares. I'm afraid that these rhetoric is not crazy. If a person has a rebellious heart, has a certain command ability, and recruits talents, the sky and the time to ascend to the heights, may really change the color of the storm!

In 1843, Hong Renkun took the exam for the fourth time, but still failed the list, and since then he has lost the idea of a career. He had frequent contacts with his cousin Feng Yunshan and another unambitious village school teacher, encouraging each other. Feng Yunshan is very miscellaneous, proficient in divination and fortune-telling, it is said that he saw Hong Renkun "many different phases" and "has the style of a king" from his face, and strongly encouraged him to rebel.

And although Hong Renkun tried and failed repeatedly, he was very depressed, but he still hesitated to let him rebel against the court and become his own boss

Rebellion is not a buffet for ten dollars, you can do whatever you want.

That's a head-off thing.

Exterminate the Nine Clans.

Besides, why do people do it with you?

No matter how ambitious and ambitious a person is, he will definitely not be able to succeed alone.

religion

The feelings of the masses are nourished only by the religious "food", so in order to cause a stormy movement, it is necessary to clothe the self-interests of these masses in the cloak of religion.

Engels Ludwig Feuerbach and the end of classical German philosophy

Back to that booklet:

Advice to the world.

I don't know that the tendon in my brain is hot, and by chance, Hong Renkun turned out the pamphlet sent to him by the street beam in Guangzhou, and this search determined his future fate and the future direction of the Qing Dynasty. This book allows Hong Renkun to know that there is still Jesus and God in this world, as well as the story of Jesus' birth and salvation, in addition to the Tao of Confucius and Mencius and the Bagu Wen. Thinking of the crazy serious illness a few years ago, Hong Renkun smiled heartily. He has found an effective detonating device.

Around 1843, Hong Renkun changed his name to "Hong Xiuquan". Because the word "Xiuquan" is taken apart, it is "He I am the king of people".

What Hong Xiuquan wants to do, he is already a lice on the monk's head.

During the year, Hong Xiuquan successively made the original salvation song, the original way awakening world training, and the original road awakening world training, and established a "God Association". Born as a village teacher, Hong Renkun became the second son of God Jehovah, the brother of Jesus Christ, who came to the mortal world to save the world and slay demons.

Hong Xiuquan claimed that six years before 1837, he had accepted the mandate of heaven during his illness and "wandered to the heavens". God carried him up to the sky in a sedan chair, and there were countless beautiful women on both sides to greet him, God taught him a strategy, and gave him a beautiful woman, who was the "maiden of the New Year's Palace" and taught him to walk "with his feet lined up".

And preached that "those who believe in God will have no calamity and no trouble, enjoy endless blessings, and the road to heaven is open, and those who do not believe in God will be bitten by tigers and snakes."

It's just that, except for Feng Yunshan and Hong's brother Hong Renji, there are almost no people who support him.

Flow: Foolish or violent

The rebels of all dynasties and dynasties almost all started with a strong superstitious color. Gaozu raised his sword to slash the white snake. Chen Sheng, Wu Guang, bonfire fox singing. Zhang Jiao, "The sky is dead, and the yellow sky should stand". Liu Futong at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, "the stone man has one eye, instigating the Yellow River to rebel in the world". It is almost possible to make up a set of rebellion procedures.

The masses just eat this set.

Can't be deleted!

Therefore, whether it is "waiting for the rich and the low, the rich and the poor", or "eating his mother and wearing his mother", it is nothing more than a kind of fermentation to incite people's hearts. Since ancient times, the first problem that a successful rebel has to solve is what to fool you.

The masses do have a certain degree of intolerance and limitations:

The status is humble, there is not much culture, and he only knows how to work hard for many years

If the behavior is not broad, how can the insight be profound and unique?

For the sake of a pitiful little food, clothing, and land, they are often gullible to the careerists who promise but do not keep them. Even if you die, you don't know who to blame. This is probably the fundamental reason why all large-scale riots have arisen at the bottom. Among them, there are naturally lumpenproletarians and outlaws, who can't open the pot and can't eat, rebellion is death, and rebellion is death, and if you don't rebel, you are happy to fish in troubled waters?

The ravages of war

Lian said that a "revolution" was "a violent action by one class to overthrow another", so it can be seen that any peasant rebellion is destined to cause great social turmoil, let alone a large-scale uprising like the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, which lasted for more than a decade and swept through most of China.

As far as the flames of the civil war can reach, the houses are in ruins and rubble everywhere. Among them, Anhui Province was a battleground for the Taiping Army and the Qing Army, and the battlefield changed hands several times, and the competition was extremely fierce, and the most deeply injured. Not only did the Taiping Army fail to establish a "paradise on earth", but after the tide of the sea it stirred up receded, it left behind a historical wound that is difficult to recover.

Records of Guangdezhou Chronicles:

In March 1860, in February of Xianfeng Gengshen, the Taiping army invaded the territory of Guangde, and the inhabitants of Guangde were killed, committed suicide, or taken captive, as well as starvation and disease, and most of them died. In the five years of the year, the people could not farm, there was a serious shortage of food, the wild vegetables in the mountains were eaten, so they ate people, and then the plague epidemic, the corpses pillowed, the roads were thorny, and there were no people for dozens of miles. At that time, there were about 300,000 residents in Guangdezhou, and after the Taiping Army left, only about 6,000 remained.

Hangzhou was the center of contention between the Qing and Taiping armies, and the population died in large numbers. 140,000 people were slaughtered at one time. Lin'an County, "only 1,000 people remain", Changhua County, "the battle of Hongyang, the people's morale is withered, and it has not been easy to restore its original state for more than 60 years". There is also Chang'an Town, Haining County, east of Hangzhou, where "seven out of ten burned houses were disabled, and miles of villages were disabled." More than 1,000 were taken captive, and more than 10,000 were killed. The fish pond accumulates corpses, and both sides of the bank are flat. ā€

As a result of the war, Hangzhou lost three million people, with a population loss rate of 806.

More than 10 years after the catastrophe, in a report submitted by diplomat Guo Songtao to the imperial court on coastal defense matters, he talked about the fact that the land in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, the state of wealth, had not been cultivated much, or seventy or eighty percent, or only fifty or sixty percent, and also said, "The corpses in southern Anhui have filled the valley, and they have not been completely covered up so far, and the fields and pawns cannot be cleared, and the people cannot be dispersed." ā€

Recreate the depressed scene after the hurricane.

How many people died in this protracted civil war?

Some scholars have compared the pre-war population data household inventory with the 1911 Xuantong census data, and believe that the war caused 54 million deaths in the five provinces of Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangsu, Fujian, and Jiangxi, and if we consider the population deficit in other battlefields such as Guangxi, Sichuan, Hubei, Hunan, and other provinces, the number of losses would be at least 100 million or more. The direct cause of overdose deaths amounted to 70 million.

II. Mission

On February 15, 1844, the 24th year of Daoguang, Hong Xiuquan left his hometown and went out to preach. Accompanied by Feng Yunshan and the two Feng brothers.

From north to south, the group walked more than a dozen county seats, with little success. When they arrived at Baihuxu in Lianxian County, Hong Xiuquan planned to go deep into the Yaoshan area of Bapai, and he said: "After walking for more than a month, the result was very unsuccessful. I am very disturbed that you have been suffering with me in vain these days. Go back and don't go any further. ā€

The Feng brothers agreed.

"So, what about you?" Feng Yunshan asked.

Hong Xiuquan said: "I plan to break through again." ā€

"So let me walk with you. ā€

The two continued to walk forward, crossed the He River into Guangxi, and came to the house of Huang Shengjun, Hong Xiuquan's cousin in Cigu Village, Gui County, Xunzhou Prefecture. Here, the two teach and carry out propaganda activities at the same time. Got acquainted with Qin Rigang, a miner from Longshan. Three months later, Hong Xiuquan saw that his cousin's family was poor and could not sustain himself for a long time, so he decided to return to Guangdong.

On November 30, Hong Xiuquan returned to his hometown in Huaxian County.

Feng Yunshan was reluctant to return to Guangdong, he left Cigu Village, met a friend named Zhang Yongxiu in Xunzhou Mansion, stayed for more than a month, and entered Bauhinia Mountain in Guiping County from Shanggulin in February 1845.

Lone Han came here to hide his body, and he was busy without relatives.

He has a career of collecting dung, and he is famous for his youth.

Feng Yunshan lived in Zhang's house in Gaokeng for nearly a year, working part-time jobs. The days of hunger forced him to completely throw away the shelves of the scholars, barefoot and shirtless, to pick up cow dung, pick up mud, dig soil, cut rice, threshing grain, and do whatever he encountered. He worked with the villagers and rested together, because Feng Yunshan was easy-going, people liked to get close to him, and he gradually made a lot of friends.

One day, Feng Yunshan went to the prison supervisor Zeng Huaiying's house to cut rice. It was a hot day, he came back, put down the burden, wiped the beads of sweat on his forehead, was happy for a while, and sang unconsciously in the wind: "The south wind can relieve the sorrow of our people, and it can help the wealth of our people." ā€

Zeng Huaiying listened and asked, "Have you ever read a book?"

"I know a few words. ā€

Feng Yunshan replied.

The two chatted a few more words, and Zeng Huaiying saw that Feng Yunshan's attitude was steady, and he talked well, and he was quite respectful. In the winter of 1846, he recommended Yunshan to Zeng Yuzhen's house in Dachong to be a tutor.

Bauhinia blossoms

In the Pingzai Mountains deep in the Bauhinia Mountains, a group of charcoal-burning migrant workers gathered.

These people have been working hard and burning charcoal for many years, and their lives are very miserable. In addition to teaching, Feng Yunshan often chatted with them, greeted them with hunger and cold, and helped them solve the difficulties within their ability. At the same time, some of the basic doctrines of the Church of God were preached to the charcoal workers. For example, corrupt officials and landlords are demons, and God loves the poor. God is the only true God. All are born of God, and we are all brothers and sisters. After worshipping God, everyone has food and clothing, and there is no calamity.

At the same time, Feng Yunshan also befriended Zeng's brother-in-law Yang Xiuqing through Zeng Kaijun.

Yang Xiuqing, formerly known as Yang Silong, was also a charcoal burner. He lost his father at the age of five and his mother at the age of nine. Yang Xiuqing did not go to school and did not read much, but he liked to travel, was resourceful, and had many charcoal friends.

Yang Xiuqing visited Feng Yunshan with her neighbor Xiao Chaogui.

Yunshan consoled:

"Brother Yang, there is no way out of the charcoal burning industry, and if you go on like this, you will succumb to your talent. Why don't we all do great things together and seek a foundation?"

Yang Xiuqing said: "What ability do we people have to do great things? It's good to see the sky and ask for food and clothing. ā€

"There is no way in the court today. If we want to get ahead, we have to be ambitious and do great things, and if you believe me, there is a way out. Feng Yunshan's tone was resolute: "Since ancient times, there have been many big men who have risen from hardship, and the so-called heroes have risen from recklessness! We have formed brothers, founded the Church of God, and developed the congregation, and we will definitely have a bright day in the future." ā€

What is rare is that although Hong Xiuquan is not by his side, Feng Yunshan has contact with charcoal burners, farmers, and rural intellectuals, and still carries out propaganda in the name of Hong, not showing off himself and not caring about gains and losses.

In the spring of the 27th year of Daoguang in 1847, Hong Xiuquan left Huaxian for Guangzhou, where he studied Christian doctrine and read the Bible under the American missionary Luo Xiaoquan. However, Pastor Luo believed that Hong's thoughts were impure and that he was not a "qualified" believer, and refused to baptize him.

Hong Xiuquan entered Guangxi again and went to Bauhinia Mountain in Guiping County to find Feng Yunshan.

Eloquence is important

When Hong Xiuquan came to Pingzai Mountain, he was surprised to find that in just three years, Feng Yunshan had created a spectacular situation, not only establishing the "God Society", but also gathering more than 2,000 congregations in the nearby villages. Hong Xiuquan couldn't help but have a hot brain. He posted a notice, calling himself the "Taiping Heavenly King", in line with the idea of "can be demolished and built, and can be broken and erected", Hong Xiuquan led the blinded fanatical masses to rush into the Jintian Liangshui Altar of Ganwang Temple in Xiangzhou as they did before by destroying the tablet of Confucius and beating the statue of the Six Black Gods, and swept away all the cows, ghosts, snakes, and gods!

Broken is broken, but "standing" may not be.

Wang Zuoxin, a local gentry, led a group to practice Feng Yunshan and Lu Liujiao on the charge of "alliance gathering" and sent Feng Yunshan and Lu Liujiao to the county government and put them in prison. When Hong Tianwang heard the news, he was frightened, and he fled back to his hometown in Guangdong under the pretext of going to Guangzhou to "try to rescue".

Feng Yunshan was arrested and imprisoned, Hong Xiuquan returned to Guangdong, and the God Society was leaderless for a while, and it was extremely chaotic. At the critical juncture, Yang Xiuqing stepped forward, trembling all over, singing and dancing, claiming that the Heavenly Father descended to earth to "possess the gods", spread rumors to the masses, and calm people's hearts. Subsequently, Xiao Chaogui also obtained the qualification for rumors in the way of "Heavenly Brother Jesus" and "dancing gods" in the lower realm.

Due to the efforts of God's congregation to rescue him, Guiping Zhixian designated Feng Yunshan as a vagrant on the grounds that "there was no illegal incident", and sent two messengers to escort him back to Huaxian County, Guangdong, and send him to his hometown, while Lu Liu was unjustly killed in prison because he could not bear the torture. Along the way, Feng Yunshan fully displayed his ambition and eloquence, talked eloquently, and persuaded the two officers to not only release Yunshan, but also willingly follow him to Bauhinia Mountain to join the God Worship Society.

Come on, come on, come with you

After Feng Yunshan was released from prison, he returned to Guangdong in the winter of 1848 in search of the escaped Hong Tianwang. In July of the 29th year of Daoguang in 1849, the two returned to Bauhinia Mountain.

Because Yang Xiuqing stabilized the situation in time, the Divine Society not only did not collapse, but consolidated and expanded. The congregation grew to more than 10,000 people. Before the established facts, Hong Xiuquan admitted the special identity of Yang and Xiao Daitian's rumors on a whim. Yang Yunjiao, a beautiful female member, also said that ten years ago she had dreamed of God and listened to the teachings, and her Heavenly Father warned everyone to "sincerely obey" King Hong.

Hong Xiuquan was very happy and announced in public that he had married Yang Xiuqing, Xiao Chaogui, and Yang Yunjiao as brother and sister, and Yang Yunjiao changed her surname to Hong.

Feng Yunshan seemed difficult to deal with.

He believes that the situation in Bauhinia Mountain was critical at that time, and the rumors of the Heavenly Father and Heavenly Brother of the Yang and Xiao Dynasty played a certain role in maintaining the organization of the God Society and consolidating the hearts of the people. But the thing is in the past, and the best thing to do is to avoid it as soon as possible, forget about it, and not give them a chance to spread the word on their behalf. Otherwise, with Yang and Xiao's position in the Divine Church and their special dual status, sooner or later they will have an impact on the supreme power of the leading group and cause great harm!

What a serious mistake

On this year's Shangyuan Festival, Wei Changhui, a native of Jintian Village, Guiping County, donated to the prisoners and celebrated with lanterns.

Wei Changhui, also known as Wei Zheng, was born in 1826 in the sixth year of Daoguang, and his father's name was Wei Yuanyu. The Wei family has about 260 acres of paddy fields in Jintian Village, and employs long-term workers for self-cultivation, and also hires a lot of short-term workers when the farm is busy, and can earn about 60,000 catties of rice every year. It is a well-known wealthy household.

However, because the Wei family was a Hakka family and did not become an official, they were quite excluded by the local gentry class.

In response to that sentence:

The greatness of life, the grievance of life.

Wei Changhui is nicknamed "Huatou Duck", who likes to be in the limelight and is good at gambling. It is said that once when I went to take an exam, I lost all the cheongsam before the exam. Feng Yunshan preached in Bauhinia Mountain, approached him many times, and persuaded him to join the Church of God, so that he could protect the whole family from being bullied by local tyrants and gentlemen. Feng Yunshan's words hit the heart of this big family who wanted to be famous and glorious ancestors, and Wei Changhui nodded in approval.

On the evening of August 6 of the same year, Hong Xiuquan, Feng Yunshan, Xiao Chaogui, and Wei Changhui visited Shi Dakai's home in Nabang Village, Guixian County.

Shi Dakai has been farming for generations. Because he is proficient in martial arts, straightforward personality, and likes to solve problems for others, he is not 19 years old but is quite respected by the township.

Xiao Chaogui, a Shijia in Guixian County, suddenly fell ill and "got on the body", and he said to Hong and Feng in the tone of Brother Tian: "I haven't spoken to my two brothers for a long time. ā€

Hong Xiuquan and Feng Yunshan said: "Yes." It is rare for the heavenly brother to take care of the younger brother from time to time. ā€

"Da Kai," Xiao Chaogui said to Shi Da Kai, "you send the two brothers to Jintian." ā€

Shi Dakai replied: "Yes." ā€

Xiao Chaogui turned to Wei Changhui again and said, "Wei Zheng, what do you call me?"

Wei Changhui didn't know how to respond, Hong Xiuquan asked: "Wei Zheng is in the sky, are you with the younger brothers?"

"Not bad at all. ā€

This time, Brother Tian's lower realm basically established the positions of several leaders of the Divine Society:

Jesus is the brother of heaven, the great Son of God.

Hong Xiuquan is the second son, Feng Yunshan is the third son, Yang Xiuqing is the fourth son, Wei Changhui is the fifth son, Yang Yunjiao is the sixth daughter of God, given the surname Hong, and King Hong married her to Xiao Chaogui, Xiao is the emperor's son-in-law, and Shi Dakai is the seventh son of God.

Kaneda regimental camp

In the summer of the thirtieth year of Daoguang in 1850, Hong Xiuquan felt that the conditions were ripe for an uprising, and ordered a "regimental camp".

Shi Dakai led 2,000 people to Jintian Village first.

On the mountain road leading to Guiping Jintian in all directions, peasants, miners, handicraftsmen, and peddlers and unemployed vagrants quietly run towards the same goal. It's a raging undercurrent. Little by little, it will quietly condense and converge, and it will soon set off a monstrous wave!

Rebellion requires a weapon at hand, and the so-called "power comes out of the barrel of a gun." ā€

The Worship of God will build more than a dozen blast furnaces, and the furnaces will be blazing, and they will continue to forge weapons day and night.

Even the air was crackling and burning.

Zheng Zuchen, the governor of Guangxi at that time, was "devoted to kindness and gentleness, and worked on whitewashing", unwilling to face up to reality, and the state and county officials were perfunctory in their manners. The military commander Admiral Min Zhengfeng is even more of a fool who "specializes in socializing", and he doesn't know anything about marching and arranging!

The mediocrity and decay of the frontier leaders undoubtedly became a catalyst for the rapid development of the Divine Society.

Autumn has gone to winter, and more than 10,000 people have come to Jintian one after another.

In order to embody the spirit of "having clothes to wear and food to eat," these religious believers sold all their homes, property, and houses before they arrived, and they could easily turn them into cash and burn down those that could not be sold. He took men and women with their families and defected, and paid all their property to the holy treasury, ate in a large canteen, and entered the communist society ahead of schedule.

At the beginning of the rebellion, the army set up five armies, "front, rear, left, right, and center", and the army set up a commander and commander, under the jurisdiction of the division commander, the brigade commander, the commander of the pawn, and two Simas, and the two Sima had five army commanders, and each army commander was in charge of the four holy soldiers who charged, broke the enemy, won the victory, and played the victory.

The first army was thirteen thousand one hundred and fifty-six men.

Due to the large number of family members, the Taiping Army set up a "women's battalion" and a "boy scout".

Men and women live separately and meet once every seven days.

The women's battalions were organized as a unit and under the direct command of the commander, with 2,500 female soldiers in each army, which was originally organized into the 40th Army. These big-footed Hakka women wore red scarves on their heads, wore a pair of mango shoes barefoot, "long knives at their waists, and rode horses and galloped angrily", fighting like men.

The Boy Scouts are just half-grown hairy children who sweep houses, serve tea and water, or stand guard with a red shuttle mark. Later, it was led by Shi Dakai, and ten battalions were set up, about 3,600 people. Many young generals of the Taiping Army, such as Chen Yucheng, Tan Shaoguang, Fan Ruzeng, Li Rongfa, and Chen Bingwen, came from the boys' camp.

3. Rebellion does not need a reason

In the winter of 185, on the bed of a hotel in Puning County, Guangdong Province, a 66-year-old man stopped breathing due to illness.

This old man was originally from Fujian, he had built water conservancy, harnessed the Yellow River, translated foreign languages into a book of Sizhou Zhi, advocated the study of the world, and his footprints were all over Xinjiang, Guangdong, Shaanxi, and almost half of China. What is particularly worth writing about is his resolute and resolute efforts to sell cigarettes in Humen despite the pressure, ignoring armed provocations, and destroying 2.37 million catties of opium at one time.

He is Lin Zexu.

A hero who has been written into modern history.

Perhaps Emperor Xianfeng, who had just ascended the throne, had smelled the smell of gunpowder permeating the borderlands, and he ordered Zu Chen and Min Zhengfeng to be dismissed on the spot, appointed Xiang Rong as the military governor of Guangxi, and re-appointed Lin Zexu to Guangxi to preside over government affairs.

Lin Zexu died of illness halfway. The Qing Dynasty reassigned Li Xingyuan, the former governor of Liangjiang, as the minister of the Qin Mission.

Guizhou Qingjiang adjutant general Iktambu led his troops to eliminate the "worship of God".

When the Qing army entered the ambush circle, the ambush soldiers rose together, and the fierce battle lasted for a long time, and the Qing army fled in all directions. Iktambu fled in panic and fell headlong while riding across the bridge, killing himself.

January 11, 1851, the first year of Xianfeng, is a day that history will not be able to ignore.

The Church of God was full of excitement and swords and guns.

The small Jintian Village is noisy with people, setting off bursts of dust. Through the hustle and bustle, Hong Xiuquan, who was wearing a long robe, was surrounded by everyone and climbed onto the high platform. Ambitious. Eight years, eight years of nightmares, it's too long. I am no longer an unknown boy who can't even get a show, I am the King of Taiping, I have the right to kill the world, and the country will be mine!

Hong Tianwang shook his arm.

The cries of the congregants were thunderous.

The sun shone on the gun-tipped knife bush.

First Battle

The Taiping army withdrew from Jintian Village and moved to the mouth of the Dahuang River.

Soon, the leaders of the Heaven and Earth Society, Luo Xuan and Su Sanniang, led 2,000 people to defect, and then joined by Qiu's second sister-in-law, Tian Fang, and Zhang Jiaxiang. Dissatisfied with the Taiping army, Qiu and Tian immediately left, and Zhang Jiaxiang was absorbed by the Qing army in 1849 and changed his name to Zhang Guoliang, becoming the sworn enemy of the Taiping army.

The newly appointed minister Li Xingyuan ordered Xiang Rong to step up the encirclement and suppression.

Xiang Rong led more than 10,000 people to the mouth of the Dahuang River and attacked the Taiping army from the east and west. The Taiping army lured the enemy deep and set up a mine array in the dangerous place of Niupai Ridge. The two sides fought fiercely, and the Taiping army attacked fiercely, with the Heavenly Maiden scattering flowers and the thunder constantly exploding. Xiang Rong was defeated and did not dare to fight again. In May, Li Xingyuan died of illness in Wuxuan. The Qing court sent Sai Shang'a to supervise the military affairs of Guangxi, and the deputy commander of the military adjutant in Guangzhou, Wulantai, as his assistant, and transferred the Mongolian general Ba Qingde and others to fight together to besiege the Taiping army again.

In September, the Taiping army left Pingnan and advanced towards Siwang, but the Qing army blocked the way. Ulantai Zhan Siwang, Xiangrong Lian Yingguan Village, formed a flanking attack on the Taiping army.

Xiao Chaogui Feng Yunshan immediately made a decision, with a force to contain Ulantai, and another 1,000 elite soldiers, taking advantage of the unstable foothold of the Rong Department to carry out a surprise attack. On the 15th, a thunderstorm was blowing, Xiao Chaogui led the army to outflank and penetrate directly into Guancun, and Xiang Rongbu was caught off guard. The Taiping army rushed left and right, chased out for thirty miles, and retreated to Pingnan County to Rong. The Taiping army took advantage of the black Hui division to attack the Ulantai Division, destroying hundreds of enemies.

After the battle of Guancun, the Taiping army divided the land and water routes, and took advantage of the victory to take Yong'an.

Xiao Chaogui led the generals Qin Rigang, Lin Fengxiang, Li Kaifang, Luo Gang and thousands of soldiers to Yong'an by land, recruiting troops and horses along the way to collect military supplies. When the team passed through Dali in Teng County, a man named Li Xiucheng joined the army and was incorporated into the hands of Hu Yihuang, the prime minister of Chunguanzheng, and this 28-year-old young man embarked on a long journey with the vast flow of people.

On September 25, Luo Xuan raided with surprise troops and conquered Yong'an Prefecture in one fell swoop.

It was the first city occupied by the Taiping army since the uprising.

Yongan Breakout

I can finally take a breath.

Before he sat down, he was busy making a wish.

On December 17th, in this small city with a big butt, Hong Xiuquan formulated a calendar and issued an edict to crown the king: Yang Xiuqing was named the king of the east, Xiao Chaogui was the king of the west, Feng Yunshan was the king of the south, Wei Changhui was the king of the north, Shi Dakai was the king of the wings, and the kings below the king of the west were controlled by the king of the east.

Yang Xiuqing gradually grasped the military and political power of the Taiping Army.

As for the congregants who spilled blood with severed heads, Hong Xiuquan not only threw out the mantra of "having fields and ploughing together, eating with food, wearing clothes and clothes, having money and making the same envoys, everywhere uneven, and no one without warmth", but also fanned vigorously: "There is more pain at the moment, and then there will be a high seal", calling on everyone to work with him sincerely, and ensure that "the corner belt of the dragon robe will be hereditary for generations" in the future, "the gold brick and gold house will be radiant, and the man will wear the dragon robe and the woman will arrange flowers." ā€

200 yuan dare to open the global unlimited head office!

See you short.

is also a rebellion, although Hong Tianwang is not lacking in cunning, but compared with Zhu Yuanzhang, who is eloquent, the gap is quite large?

Soon after the Taiping army entered the city, the Qing army built deep ditches and high fortifications, and surrounded Yong'an.

While stepping up the military siege, Saishana and Xiang Rong also played yin, sending a large number of spies into the city, spreading rumors, and assassinating generals, intending to disintegrate the Taiping army from the inside.

Zhou Xineng was originally a high-ranking official of the Taiping Army, and when he was in Xiangzhou, he was ordered to return to his hometown to recruit troops. Somehow, he got into the enemy camp all of a sudden, was given the title of Liupin, and as an undercover agent, sneaked back to Yong'an, and starred in the weekly version of Infernal Affairs.

Feng Yunshan regarded him as the "old brother" of Liangguang and did not doubt it.

However, Yang Xiuqing, with his rich experience in anti-special affairs, found that Zhou Xineng's expression was full of anger and his eyes wandered, and he couldn't help but become suspicious, so he sent someone to monitor him 24 hours a day. Zhou Xineng lurked for two days, thinking that there was nothing to do, so he began to instigate rebellion, he bribed a few weak-willed generals, cultivated dead friends, thought that the enemy army outside the city should Yang Xiuqing detect the news in time, preemptively acted, in one fell swoop to eliminate Zhou Xineng's apostate group, and smash the Qing army's conspiracy to subvert Yong'an.

In April of the second year of Xianfeng in 1852, the Taiping army had stayed in Yong'an for more than half a year, and there was a shortage of food and ammunition, and the Qing army besieging the city was close to 40,000 at this time. The leadership decided to leave Vinh On. Late at night on the 5th, it was raining heavily, and the Taiping army roared and rushed through the barricades set up by the wooden fence and broke through to the north.

Xiang Rong and Ulantai led the Qing army to chase under the Longliao Mountains, when heavy rain poured. After the Taiping Army's Qin Rigang Division, due to the dangerous terrain of Longliao Ridge, he was unprepared, and was driven into the canyon by Ulantai's sneak attack, with countless casualties. When Xiao Chaogui heard the news and came to his rescue, there were 2,000 old and weak women and children who had died and been taken captive in the army.

At dawn on the 9th, Yang Xiuqing used a small group of men and horses as bait to introduce the Ulantai Department into the Datong Valley. Xiang Rong dissuaded him and did not listen, so he had to follow him. At this time, a heavy fog rose in the valley, the mountain road was narrow, and the Taiping army ambushed in all directions, barefoot with short knives, and fought hand-to-hand. The guns of the Qing army were not reused. The commander-in-chief Rui, Changshou, Shao Heling, and Dong Guangjia were killed, and Ulantai rolled down the mountain stream to escape with his life.

The Qing army lost more than 5,000 people in the first battle.

Blood and tears across the state

After Yang Xiuqing defeated Xiangrong Wulantai, he ordered the Taiping army to take a small road through Niujiao Yao Mountain and seek to capture Guilin.

At this time, Zou Heling, the governor of Guangxi, was also a master who only took a salary and did not do anything, and everyone felt that he and the former governor Zheng Zuchen had a fight, and wrote a joint ridicule and said:

Where is the whitewash of the work? The fur crane is here again.

However, the provincial capital of Guilin was strong and well defended, and the Taiping army besieged it for a month, although it killed the Ulantai who came to reinforce and dispersed the reinforcements, but it was never overcome. Saishan'a sat in Yangshuo, reinforcements from all walks of life arrived, and Yang Xiuqing had no choice but to withdraw the siege to the north and divert to Quanzhou.

On the evening of May 19, the Taiping army withdrew from Guilin and headed for Xing'an. Shangchang and the soldiers of Xing'an Zhixian County fled when they heard the news, and the Taiping soldiers entered the county seat of Xing'an without blood. On the 24th, the brave and warlike Luo Xuan led the Taiping army to gallop, marching 90 miles, and the front reached the city of Quanzhou.

As early as when the Taiping army besieged Guilin, Cao Xiepei, the governor of the whole state, recruited 300 strong men and stepped up training. In April, he retained hundreds of Chu soldiers from Wuchang, Hunan Province to aid Guilin, and swore to defend the state city to the death.

On the 25th, the Taiping army launched a general attack on the city of Quanzhou.

The battle was extremely fierce.

Cao Xiepei ordered his soldiers to set up copper cannons at the head of the city, day and night, bombarding the positions of the Taiping army.

The flesh and blood of the gunners are flying.

Even the yellow sedan chair in which Feng Yunshan, the king of the south, was ridden by a cannonball and was seriously injured.

The Taiping army took a ladder to storm the west gate. The situation was critical, the people went to the city to assist in the battle, the defenders kept smashing down huge trees and stones, and also poured the hot porridge boiled out of tung oil and glutinous rice on the soldiers who climbed the city, and the Taiping army screamed and fell down the ladder, either dead or wounded.

For eleven days and nights, the corpses were piled up under the city.

Hong Xiuquan and Yang Xiuqing originally thought that the army would press the border, and the whole state would be as easy to reach as Xing'an County.

I can't imagine that the resistance is so stubborn!

They gave a death order: the whole state must be lowered, otherwise military law will be engaged!

On June 3, the heaviest offensive began, when the Taiping army secretly dug a tunnel up to the city wall and filled it with a large amount of gunpowder. With an earth-shattering loud bang, the black fog rose into the air, and the city walls of Quanzhou were collapsed with a gap more than two zhang wide, and the soldiers swarmed in.

The state fell.

The Taiping army suffered heavy casualties due to the siege, and the king of the south was wounded, and the top and bottom were extremely resentful. After the city was broken, the killings were heavy, and all the militia members who participated in the resistance were not left behind. Slaughter the city for three days. By the fourth day, some soldiers shouted along the streets: "The people can come out", and countless people in the whole state were slaughtered and burned to death!

Sad Lingyidu

On the 5th, the city of Jeonju sounded gongs and fired cannons.

The leaders of the Taiping Army went out of the city in a sedan chair in a grand ceremony, and the soldiers were divided into two routes, swaggering along the Xiangjiang River to the north.

Attack Yongzhou first, and then go down to Changsha.

The Xiangjiang River is in the rising season, and it can be reached in three days. And Changsha City happened to be engaged in urban construction at this time, the city wall was demolished in a mess, and the defense was empty.

The plan looks good.

However, the war is ever-changing, the soldiers are impermanent, the water is impermanent, and those who can win due to the changes of the enemy are called military sticks.

The leaders of the Taiping Army did not know that in the more than 10 days of time-consuming and laborious attack on Quanzhou, the situation had taken a sharp turn and they had lost the best fighter plane to attack Changsha.

After learning of the fall of Quanzhou, the imperial court issued four edicts in one day, ordering Saishan'a to mobilize troops to follow the interception, strictly guard the key points of the waterway, and must not let the Taiping army "go straight downstream".

Saishan'a dared to be lazy and quickly set up defenses: send Bao Qibao to garrison Yongzhou, and Sun Yingzhao defended the Huangshahe River at the junction of Hunan and Guizhou, and Chun led 7,000 Qing troops to defend Taipingpu. Yu Wanqing went to Daozhou to intercept it, and Liu Changqing led a part of the Qing army to follow and pursue.

And Jiang Zhongyuan, the governor of Yongzhou, has also led a thousand elite Chu soldiers to cut down trees and make weirs in Lingyidu, ten miles north of Quanzhou, and lay down pockets.

The top leaders of the Taiping Army were probably still immersed in the joy of victory, lacking a correct estimate of the rapidly changing battlefield situation and neglecting to take precautions.

The march of the large corps does not even send a reconnaissance team?

Feng Yunshan once proposed that the infantry open a way on both sides of the Xiangshui River, and the rest of the troops, their families, and heavy grain and grass were loaded in boats to follow up, but Hong Xiuquan vetoed it.

Maybe he thought that the infantry was too slow to advance and delayed the marching schedule, or maybe he thought that God was omnipotent and invincible, and it was not a piece of cake to pack up the Qing army!

When the Taiping army's fleet marched north along the river and came to the Lingyi Ferry, they were surprised to find that the originally narrow and turbulent river channel had been blocked by the Qing army's trees! The ships were dense and could not advance. Everyone was suspicious that thunder sounded overhead, and the air strike came as scheduled. Jiang Zhongyuan occupied the Lion Ridge on the left bank, condescendingly, and used mountain splitting artillery to bombard the flotilla at the blockage of the river.

The power of the mountain-splitting cannon was very great, and when the cannon hit, the camphor trees that hugged the thick ones were blown apart.

The Taiping army was caught off guard and was in chaos.

Yang Xiuqing had no choice but to put the overcrowded boats across the river, build a pontoon bridge to seize the position on the riverbank, and fight back. Hearing the sound of artillery, the land troops also approached to the rescue.

At dawn on the 7th, the Qing army on the Taipingpu side rushed to support. He Chun personally supervised the attack on all sides, and the Taiping army resisted bravely, with guns and cannons raining down, trying their best to prevent the Qing army from landing.

The two sides fought fiercely for two days and nights.

The Taiping army was burned, drowned, and bombarded to death.

Mountains of corpses.

The rivers were dyed red.

The Taiping army, after paying a heavy price, was still unable to dredge the waterway. Yang Xiuqing ordered the remnants of the troops to land on the east bank, abandoned the bulky equipment, grain, rice, and some family members, and burned the ship on its own.

The people of Lingyi shouted and neighed.

The fire is blazing.

In an atmosphere of defeat and desolation, a loyal and resolute leader of the Taiping Army, Feng Yunshan, the king of the South, closed his eyes forever due to the deterioration of his injuries.

Four turns

After the remnants of the Taiping army evacuated Lingyidu, they crossed half of the mountain and crossed the Biandan Pass, transferred to Hunan to bypass Yongzhou, and conquered Daozhou on the 12th.

The whole army rested in Daozhou for two months.

Expand your team and forge cannons.

On August 17, it occupied Chenzhou, expanded its army by more than 20,000 people, and organized thousands of coal diggers into "earth battalions", which were specially responsible for digging tunnels, laying mines, and destroying city walls during the storm.

Yang Xiuqing found out that Changsha City was weak in air defense, and ordered Xiao Chaogui, the king of the West, to lead three or four thousand troops to the north and approach the provincial capital.

Xiao Chaogui led his army to defeat the intercepted Qing army at Nanshimapu, killed the general soldier Fucheng, and seized a large number of guns and gunpowder. And broke through the outer defense line of the Qing army, and reached the Miao peak outside the south gate of Changsha City.

The defenders and regiments of Changsha City were about 5,000 people.

The Taiping Army's future rivals Zeng Guofan and Zuo Zongtang are all in the city at this moment.

Xiao Chaogui ordered the artillery to fire artillery, bravely attacked the city, and fired artillery on the city to return fire. The brigade rushed to the Tianxin Pavilion in the south of the city, surrounded and attacked, and the defenders at the head of the city saw that there was a person under the city wearing gorgeous and bright clothes, and a shot went down, hitting him in the chest, and he was seriously injured.

When Hong Xiuquan and Yang Xiuqing heard the news, they decided to go to Changsha with the whole army to avenge Xiao Chaogui.

After more than 80 days of fierce fighting, he did not win.

Famous generals from all walks of life in the Qing Dynasty gathered in Changsha, and the reinforcements amounted to 50,000 or 60,000 people.

The Taiping army took the initiative to withdraw from the siege.

After attacking Ningxiang, Keyiyang, and Yuezhou, a large number of ships and firearms were obtained, and thousands of boatmen and sailors enlisted in the army to form a "water battalion" Yang Xiuqing ordered Tang Zhengcai to be a "sailor" to lead the navy. The whole army expanded to more than 100,000 people.

At the end of 1852, the Taiping army entered Hubei from Yuezhou, occupied Hanyang and Hankou, and stationed at Parrot Island.

The Qing army abandoned the outer positions of Wuchang and defended it to the death.

Yang Xiuqing gave an order, and two pontoon bridges were erected across the river in Shuiying, and people and horses came and went, as if walking on the ground.

There are thousands of sails on the river, covering the sky and the sun.

On January 12, 1853, the third year of Xianfeng, the Taiping army destroyed the city wall by mines for more than 20 zhang and conquered Wuchang City. Chang Dachun, the military and political governor of Wuchang, and more than 100 civil and military officials below Shuangfu, the commander of the city defense, were killed.

The loss of Wuchang shocked the whole country!

After the Taiping army occupied Wuchang, it was faced with a new choice, that is, where should the next strategic goal be directed? At that time, the leading group had three directions of advance: north to Henan, west to Bashu, and east to Jiangnan. Hong Xiuquan intended to run the Central Plains, according to Bianliang and Luoyang, and peeped into Yandu, and the king of the East insisted on taking Jinling to order the world, and finally Yang Xiuqing was ingenious and solved all the problems in the way of "dancing gods" by the heavenly father.

Despite the constant war, King Hong did not forget to expand his harem beauties.

When Yong'an broke through, Hong Xiuquan had selected 36 concubines, conquered Daozhou, and accepted the four beauties offered by He Gongsheng, but in order to implement the shameless spirit of "only thinking about it and not getting tired of it", Boss Hong selected 60 folk beautiful girls in Wuchang Yuema Factory at one time, and "laughed" with the kings with peace of mind.

On February 9, the second day of the first lunar month, the Taiping army abandoned Wuchang.

Yang Xiuqing led an army of 500,000 people, and used the big scenes of the movie to advance by land and water, down the river, and the state and county officials fled along the way. All the way to conquer Jiujiang, Anqing, Chizhou, Tongling, Wuhu, Hezhou and other places.

On March 8, Hu Yihuang, Li Kaifang, and Lin Fengxiang led troops to occupy Yuhuatai.

The navy anchored on the river from Dasheng Pass to Straw Shoe Gorge, occupied Pukou, and surrounded Jinling.

In the early morning of the 19th, the fog in Nanjing was confused, the Taiping army bombarded the city wall of Yifengmen with gunpowder, hundreds of soldiers rushed into the city, and killed Lu Jianying, the governor of Liangjiang, in the area of Xiaoying, and the Qing army fled in all directions.

Lin Fengxiang and Lai Hanying led thousands of Taiping troops to take advantage of the situation to break through the Jubaomen in the south of the city.

Blood City

Although the city of Nanjing was breached, the inner city was still under the control of the bannermen soldiers.

The inner city, also known as the full city, is guarded by the Jiangning general Xianghou, the fortifications are complete, and the city walls are extremely strong.

The flag man swore not to surrender.

The battle was extremely fierce.

Yang Xiuqing personally commanded the Taiping Army to besiege Zhengyangmen and Chaoyangmen, and tens of thousands of soldiers charged. The bannermen in the city fought back frantically, women fought in the city, and the elderly and children shouted and cheered on the city walls.

The Taiping army launched three strong attacks in a row, but they were all defeated.

Thousands of people were killed.

Yang Xiuqing organized his troops to attack in turns, using wheel tactics to consume the enemy's troops, and the battle lasted for several days, and some of the soldiers were "exhausted and died."

The Taiping army took advantage of the situation to pile up firewood and grass, ignite fires, and break through the city wall in one fell swoop.

The inner city has fallen.

The coach Xiang Hou killed himself.

Hong Xiuquan ordered that the whole city hunt and kill the flag people, "those who capture the flag people will be rewarded with five taels of silver." More than 20,000 bannermen were almost all killed.

The Taiping army dissected Xianghou's corpse and dug out his heart and liver. More than 20 officials were killed.

More than 6,000 young women were escorted to the Gongyuan in Jiangning, where each person lived in a room, and each of them was assigned a Guangxi bigfoot woman to take care of it and give four taels of rice a day. These women, who served as "comfort women", hung wooden plaques with wooden plaques and numbered names, and those who received meritorious service in the army could hold the number plate and take a woman to the tribute courtyard to spend the night and return it tomorrow.

Whenever the Taiping army occupied a place, they would sound a gong and gather the masses to give a lecture, which was called "reasoning."

All the strong men who were alive and did not flee, whether they wanted it or not, were all incorporated into the Holy Soldiers.

Whoever does not hand over all his property or hides more than five taels of silver, "is an evil spirit, that is, a demon, and his sin is great."

Those who fail to recite the rules of heaven for more than 21 days, or fail to listen to "reasoning" twice without reason, seriously violate discipline.

Those who disobey and say strange things and complain are called "demon hearts have not changed".

Those who violate the orders of heaven are called "demons".

Behead without leaving!

The Taiping Army also broke with the original family structure and forcibly set up male and female battalions, and organized every 25 men into a hall called "new brothers" and women called "new sisters," and implemented strict militarized management.

Men and women are separated from each other, and even husbands and wives can only live together on the first and fifteenth days of the new year, otherwise they will commit a "crime, kill and kill!"

The women who were forced into the camp were engaged in manual labor such as cutting bamboo sticks, digging trenches, carrying tiles, transporting grain, cutting wheat, chopping firewood, and rubbing hemp rope.

It is not allowed to cry, "crying is a demon, and it is not whipped or killed." ā€

The people of Nanjing City were panicked for a while, and many people were killed and injured because they did not want to divide the museum for men and women, or closed the door**, or committed suicide by taking poison, or the whole family went to the river pond to be involved in the water.

As soon as the Taiping army entered Nanjing, they began to "eliminate demons". Except for the officials of the Qing Dynasty, the Manchu people, monks, nuns, Taoists, squires, merchants, and talented scholars, all those with ruddy and soft palms and calluses without calluses were "demons", and they were either killed or captured to serve as errand soldiers.

While Hong Xiuquan was killing like crazy, he was also sweeping away Chinese culture. Along the way, all the academies, schools, temples, and historic sites were either ordered to be closed, burned down, or converted into barracks, warehouses, and slaughterhouses, "drenching the heads of Confucius and Mencius with dog blood." As for the calligraphy and painting of books, the number said: "Collect the collection of books and discuss the burden, go through the toilet and throw it away, throw it away with fire, and pour it with water if you can't burn it." ā€

Readers are chopped, collectors are chopped, buyers and sellers are chopped together.

Except for the simple and crude doctrines written by himself, there is no distinction between good and bad, and it is swept away.

Jinling Spring Dream

March 20, 1853. The Heavenly King Hongxiu wore a yellow dragon robe all over his body, sat in a sedan chair carried by 16 people, and entered Nanjing surrounded by thousands of ministers and palace maids.

The swords and guns are dazzling, and the armor is bright.

The leaders of the Kingdom of Heaven have fought and died nine times before finally ushering in a great victory.

It was only four years after the Kaneda Rebellion.

The top leadership was probably also carried away by this sudden victory, pushing the cup and changing the lamp, and getting carried away, "The prosperity of the kingdom of heaven is ruled by heaven", "Isn't it the heavenly father and brother who made my lord build Tianjing in Jinlinghu?"

After conquering Nanjing, it seems that the overall situation has been decided:

Isn't there still a lonely man left in the Qing Dynasty, send a team of men and horses to take him down!

As for us, it is time for us to be born and die, to run around and do revolution, and to enjoy it

People who pat on the back will always vote for what they like, for a while, "the king's spirit", "the emperor's house" and so on are built to talk about the snowflakes flying up, the city wall of Nanjing is wide, extending in all directions, facing the Yangtze River natural danger, Zhongshan dragon and tiger, Ming Taizu according to this and win the world, in short, the feng shui is excellent!

Hong Xiuquan then set the capital of Nanjing and changed it to Tianjing.

The first thing he did after ascending the throne was to build the Heavenly King's Mansion ceremoniously.

Tianwang Mansion expands outward for ten miles on the basis of the original Liangjiang Governor's Mansion, the surrounding walls are about three zhang high, the inside and outside are two-fold, the outside is the Sun City, and the inner side is the Golden Dragon City. The Golden Dragon Hall is constantly playing drums 24 hours a day. There is a back forest garden behind the palace, which is exquisitely carved and brilliant.

The masonry and timber were taken from the ancient buildings of the Six Dynasties.

Nanjing's Bao'en Tower was blown up, and the Ming Imperial Palace was demolished to the point that only one city gate remained.

The slightest delay in the slightest delay was the reprimanding and whipping of the overseer Bigfoot Barbarian, most of these construction workers who did not take wages were foot-bound women who had just put their feet down, throwing away their arched shoes and socks, and walking with stumbling and swollen ankles.

The old man shook up and swirled to the city.

The woman picked up in the city and turned to pick it out of the city.

As soon as the old man stumbles, he will turn over and break down.

When a woman misses, her head will be shattered.

Before the Taiping army entered the city, Nanjing had a population of 800,000, but only nine months after entering the city, the Heavenly Dynasty Dingtianhou Ya verified the registered population, and only 150,000 remained, including 40,000 old and weak men and 110,000 women.

In order to clear the periphery of Tianjing, Luo Xuan led his troops to conquer Zhenjiang, and Lin Fengxiang and Li Kaifang occupied Yangzhou in the north of the Yangtze River.

At the same time, 17,000 people from the Qing army Xiang Rong and Hechun moved to Dongxiao Lingwei in Tianjing City, and more than 10,000 people from the Qishan Department also set up a "Jiangbei Camp" on the outskirts of Yangzhou to monitor the movements of the Taiping Army and wait for an opportunity to recover Jinling.

Luo Xuan, who was born in the Heaven and Earth Society, has a lot of criticism about Jiandu.

Luo Xuan is a burly man with a curly beard.

He hadn't read much, but he was fierce, alert, brave and resourceful. When he first joined the Taiping Army, he was not trusted because he was not a believer in the worship of God, but Xiao Chaogui, the king of the West, valued his talent and deliberately coerced him, pretending that Brother Tian ordered the generals to treat Luo Outline well.

Luo Xuan was grateful for Xiao's kindness and swore to follow him.

Out of Bauhinia, Zhanguan Village, Kequanzhou, Breaking Yong'an, all the way to attack the city and pull out the village, can be called the vanguard.

Hong Xiuquan was indulged in pleasure, and Luo Xuan was not without worries, he said: "The prince of partial peace, I have never heard of a good end! Now such a good opportunity can lead the men and horses into the Central Plains and sweep the sea." Now that he is satisfied with being the emperor in Tianjing, I don't know where our bones are buried."
