Chapter 173: From Sun Guardian to Eternal Guardian
The sun guards who had followed Ninglu were still watching, most of them hated the act of smashing the altar of the Moro bride, but they were afraid of Ninglu's strength and status, and did not dare to make a clear objection to the elders of the various tribes who claimed to be high-ranking and powerful. But when the earth had opened its mouth and swallowed into Hades those who had despised the King of kings, the sun guards, with a palpable sense of terror, ran and surrounded Nimrod, and fell on their faces with their master in a loud cry as the earth shook and the mountains shook. ”
"Nimrod did not reproach the guards of the sun, who had always prided themselves on their loyalty and bravery, for they did not stand up to defend their master when the elders openly betrayed Ninrod, when the heavens were cracking, the wind was howling, the sun and the moon were gone, and Nimrod did not show fear, for he knew that these sights were not directed at him, but at those who did not believe in the name of the King of kings. I hid in Nimroth's tent and heard the white camel snorting and wandering restlessly, everything in the tent was tinkling and shaking, the plates on the table were clattering, the wine glasses were rolling down and smashing on the floor, and the crumbs and wine were dripping to the floor. I was afraid, this was not the first time I had been terrified before the majesty of the King of Eternity, and I was so worried that I opened my mouth again and swallowed all these who were still alive into Hades indiscriminately. ”
But Ning Lu's eyes were like torches, and he looked around fiercely, his long braids were blown apart by the wind, but his knees seemed to have taken root on the ground, and he was like a boulder that stood tall in the midst of the shaking of the earth. He tore off the huge golden eye of the sun god from his neck and threw it on the ground, and a hole was smashed in the ground, and the golden beads suddenly flew in all directions and rolled to the ground, as if the god had knocked over his golden lord. Nimrod cried out with a loud voice, 'My guards, do you see?' I cried out to the King of Eternity, and He answered me! He commanded the earth to open the mouth of darkness, and the earth swallowed up all the children of disobedience who did not believe in His name and blasphemed His name! I allow you to stand up now, and I allow you to leave me, and to follow me no more, and not to live and die with me, but to return to your tents, lest all the Ethiopians of Ethiopia suffer greater plague because of your unbelief, because the hand of the King of kings is heavy on those who do not believe in Him. ”
"His sun guards then pleaded bitterly with him, 'My lord Nimrod, O king of the brave, beseech my lord my king not to drive us away.' Don't rush me back and not follow you. Where thou goes, I will go, and where thou should, I will stay: thy kingdom is my kingdom, and thy God my God. Where you die, there I will die and be buried. Unless death separates you from me, let the King of kings punish me severely. ’”
So the guards rose up as one man, and they cut their arms around Nimrod, and smeared the blood on their master's forehead, and swore to follow him forever, and to serve their master's god forever, the King of Eternity. This oath was even more resolute than when they had sworn to become the guardians of the sun god, because it was an oath made with blood. After the oath was over, the guards tore the golden Eye of the Sun God from their neck and threw it into the distance, as their master Ning Lu had done before. So Di immediately spoke again, swallowing these eyes, and everyone watched this scene in horror, including Ning Lu. ”
"'Look, look,' Nimrod's voice was as low and deafening as a hoarse panther, 'Your blood oath has entered the ears of the King of Eternity. Behold, if ye do not make this oath unto me, and if ye do not cast away the Eye of the Sun God which is upon you, then it is you who have just been swallowed up by the earth. When he had said this, all of them knelt down again and cried out for mercy to the King of kings who was high in heaven. At that moment, the civilians and warriors who were far away from the chief's tent also came out of their camp and cried to the heavens with their leader, Nimrod—though not long ago, they were all men who were ready to come out with the elders to betray Ninrod. ”
"'Now you are no longer my guardians of the sun, but my eternal guardians, and you must renounce all idols and witchcraft, or my hand will be upon you, even if the hand of the King of Eternity is not heavy on you, my hand will be heavy on you—for you have made all the ancient people rebel against the oath you swore to the King of Eternity, and I have no choice but to kill you so that all the people may not be destroyed, lest greater calamity befall our people,' said Nimrod in a loud voice. Now, return with me to your own camp and cut down all the altars of your house, whether they be the altar of the bride of Moroch or the pillar of the sun god, and if anyone comes to stop you after seeing the earth swallow up the rebellious elders, then you must kill them. ’”
So under the leadership of Nimrod, he and the Eternal Guard began to remove the high places, puppets, carved and cast statues from the camp of the Ethiopians. Most of the people were afraid of Nimrod and his guards, and even more afraid of the hand of the Eternal King on their bodies, so they did not dare to stop them, even if they still had doubts. So they broke down the altar of Baal (another god worshipped by the Ethiopians, who was said to be the Lord of abundance and harvest) before him, and cut down the high sun image on the altar, and they broke the puppets and the carved images, and cast them into ashes, and scattered them on the graves of the idols. ”
"But the priests of the temples were crying with a loud voice, and they were dancing at the idols of gold, silver, wood, and stone, which could not see, or hear, or speak, and called upon the name of the god Moloch, saying, 'Answer us, O Moloch!' or call upon the name of Baal, 'Answer us, O Baal!' but there was no voice, no answer. And they were jumping round about the altar which he had built. ”
"At noon, he laughed at them and said, 'Call with a loud voice, for he is God, and he is on fire, and he walks aside, or walks, or sleeps, and you wake him up.' They cried out with a loud voice, and cut themselves with knives and spears, and stabbed themselves, according to their custom, until their bodies bleed. From the afternoon until the time of the evening sacrifice they cried out, but there was no voice, no answer, no heed. ”
"The people looked displeased and indignant when they saw Nimrod and his eternal guard enter the high places of the camps of the tribes with their weapons, but when they saw these Moloch sacrifices, Baal sacrifices, and bride sacrifices crying out for almost the whole day without the slightest response, their countenances turned to horror. I think they're all circling the same conclusion in their minds right now: Moloch is fake, Baal is fake, we are crying out to worship false gods, and only the King of Eternity is real—it seems to be true!"
