On the eighth day of the fourth month, the Buddha Bathing Festival, the day of Tianxing's ordination.

Thousands of years ago in ancient India (later Nepal), there was a wealthy kingdom of Kapila, and the king was called King Johan. The king of pure rice had two wives, one was called Lady Maya, and the second was called Maha**. The King of Pure Rice is benevolent and kind, and is good at managing the country's affairs, but it is a pity that he has no heirs for many years. One day, Lady Maya dreamed that a white elephant with six tusks entered her body, and she became pregnant.

At that time, there was a custom in India that a woman should return to her mother's home before giving birth. Lady Maya also set off for home at this time. When she walked under the Borneo tree in the Lumbini Garden, her heart was unusually happy. At this time, Lady Maya suddenly felt abdominal pain, and the crown prince was born. The little prince was born to walk, stepping on a lotus flower on each foot, pointing to the sky with one hand and the earth with the other, and saying, "Heaven and earth, I am the only one." Just as the prince was speaking, suddenly the earth shook, the rain and flowers were fragrant, and the nine dragons spat out water to bathe him.

This day coincides with the eighth day of the fourth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, which is the Buddha's birthday. On that day, Buddhist believers from all over the world gathered in the temple to participate in the Buddha bathing. On the Buddha hall, the statue of the Prince Buddha is enshrined, and the Buddha bath water will be made with licorice tea, also known as "fragrant soup", imitating the scene at that time, and the small copper spoon filled with fragrant soup bath and poured the Prince Buddha.

For such a legend, Tianxing naturally would not believe it, and correspondingly, he was also interested in the so-called commemorative activities. However, in the environment of Shaolin Temple, Tianxing did not dare to be disrespectful to the Buddha or question such commemorative activities, especially this year's Buddha Bathing Festival, which is still a big day for him to shave.

Shaving is a rather complicated process, and it definitely doesn't mean that kneeling on top of the Daxiong Hall and shaving off your hair is considered a person in the Buddhist sect. Lay disciples generally have to live in the monastery for a year as an investigation, and only lay disciples who have successfully passed the test are eligible to be ordained.

The high/tide in the shaving of Tianxing and others began just a few days before the Buddha Bathing Festival. On the fourth day of the fourth month of April, preparations for the ordination ceremony have begun, and lay disciples can only truly receive ordination after a series of processes, such as shaving and dyeing their clothes, receiving novice ordination, answering Dharma teacher questions, and repentance in the Dharma hall.

Tianxing stood in the hall of the Mahavira with the other novices, looking solemnly at the presiding host in front of the hall, the abbot Xinhui.

Xinhui stroked the ruler cloud: "All good men." Today, Aja (shé) Li has been declared by you and others to return to karma. Thou hast attained the pure vows of the novices. I will speak the Ten Precepts for you. Let you know each other and hold on. to protect their bodies. Each is called the name of the law. ”

The meaning of the abbot's words is to say, "You sons of good families, now Acharya (the role of preacher, guide, etc.) has completed the karma for you." You are already novices, and now I will tell you about the Ten Precepts. Let you know the precepts, keep the precepts, and bless your bodies. Now each of you will give your name to the Dharma.

Although Tianxing is the youngest in shaving, he is the only one with the word "Tian", and the rest are his nephews, so Tianxing is the leader in the shaving process. Therefore, he was the first to answer: "Tianxing." ”

Xinhui said again: "Do not kill as long as possible." It's a novice vow. Can you hold it today?"

Thou shalt not kill for the rest of his life, this is the novice precept. Can you keep it up now?

Such a scene reminded Tianxing of the scene in Jet Li's "Shaolin Temple", although he also wanted to say in a hurry: "The murderous heart can be stopped, and the heart of justice cannot be stopped!" But thinking about his age experience at the moment, it is best to be honest, so he said: "I can hold it." ”

After that, Xinhui asked: Do not steal, do not **, do not lie, do not drink, do not wear fragrant flowers, do not paint yourself with sesame oil, do not sing and dance, and watch and listen, do not sit on a high bed, do not eat out of time, do not grasp the treasures of life - a total of ten precepts.

Tianxing replied one by one: "Yes." Later, Xinhui asked the other novices, and they all replied in the same way.

The subsequent process was uneventful, everything went according to plan, and Tianxing carried out all this numbly, but his face was solemn, showing the slightest dissatisfaction in his heart. It is worth mentioning that at this time, there was no tradition of shaving scars, and the real scars were started in the Yuan Dynasty, so Tianxing suffered less pain.

When all the procedures were over, it was already night, Tianxing followed Xinming to the back mountain, and it was only at this time that Tianxing was really a little excited, but not because he became a monk, but because he finally apprenticed, which meant that he was going to learn martial arts.

Tianxing naturally knew that it was impossible to teach him something like the Seventy-Two Stunts and the Yijin Sutra, and he was not interested in the basic boxing methods of the Shaolin Temple. But he also knows what kind of character Xin Ming is in front of him, that is a strange person who is on a par with Wang Chongyang, and finally created Jiuyang Divine Skill! Xin Ming is obviously a monk who became a monk halfway, as for his previous teachers and martial arts, Tianxing has no way of knowing, but it is definitely not simple. What Tianxing really wants to learn is this kind of martial arts.

In the original work, Xinming should not have accepted apprentices, so he could only write the divine skills in the "Ranga Sutra", and later fell into the hands of Jueyuan, who was familiar with him. Now that he has accepted Tianxing, there is no reason not to teach him the stunt.

Tianxing couldn't help but be a little excited when he thought of this, and said to Xinming in front of him: "Master, I will be your apprentice from now on!"

Xinming smiled and said, "What, are you happy?"

"Well, the disciple is naturally happy to take refuge in Buddhism today and worship under the master. ”

"Hehe, it's just you and me here, you don't have to be acting, don't you know your careful thoughts?"

Tianxing smiled awkwardly: "Master, I can't hide anything from your old man, and I am happy because I thought that I could learn martial arts from you." ”

When Xinming heard this, he didn't blame Tianxing, but said, "Then why do you want to learn martial arts?"

Tianxing was stunned, since he was reborn, what he thought about the most was how to practice martial arts, and then go to the rivers and lakes, as for why he wanted to learn martial arts, why he wanted to go through the rivers and lakes, he didn't think about it, maybe it was just for the martial arts dream in his heart!

Tianxing said: "The apprentice just wants to practice martial arts, wants to break through the rivers and lakes, and wants to become the number one master in the world!"

"Hahaha, wonderful, wonderful! Since you want to practice martial arts, I will teach you as a teacher, but if you can't endure the hardships, you won't be spared as a teacher!" If Tianxing's words were heard by other monks in the temple, they would inevitably be reprimanded, but Xinming was not angry, but encouraged him.

First, Xinming is not really a person in Buddhism, and he doesn't want his apprentice to become a disciple of Buddhism, Tianming's "Yin Fengyang Wei" is his mind, and secondly, although Xinming lives in seclusion in Shaolin Temple, but the competitive heart still exists, he is old, and he doesn't want to go out again, but he is willing to let his apprentice go out.

In the second year of Jiading, when Tianxing was eight years old, he officially became a young monk in Shaolin and was about to start his journey of learning martial arts.
