Taoism has had a profound impact on China's academic thought, political economy, military strategy, literature and art, science and technology, national character, ethics and morality, way of thinking, folk customs, and folk beliefs.

Taoism has always been closely related to the development of Chinese civilization and deeply rooted in traditional culture.

Xingyang summarized Taoism as follows: it arose in the Three Emperors and Five Emperors, spread it to King Wen Laozi, gathered in the hundred schools of thought, became a teacher in the first day, the Tao was in the Wei and Jin dynasties, the virtue was covered in the Tang Dynasty, the rules were established in the Chongyang Patriarch, preached in Qiu Zu's westward journey, fell in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and heard in today's day.
