006 back to the beginning of the essence of the original, sit and forget to become Yingning
(Inscription: Which event is more likely to occur intentionally planting flowers or unintentionally planting willows?) In fact, things in the world can only be intentionally planted with flowers if they are planted without intention.) The next few chapters may be boring to read, because I use a lot of text to describe the protagonist's experience of groping before the beginning of the monastic path. If you only look at it from the perspective of a novel, this paragraph can be brushed aside. However, from the perspective of the "Book of Dan", I still want to introduce it in as much detail as possible, so as to make it closer to the possibility of reality. Friends who like to watch the plot can skip it. )
"Lu Xun said that the articles of the pre-Qin princes are the best only Zhuangzi. The Wind Gentleman ignored my stunned expression and said to himself. What does this have to do with Lu Xun? The more I listen, the more confused I become, the more confused I become, and the more energetic the gentleman said: "Zhuangzi is profound and difficult to understand. Fortunately, the book I bought is in plain language, and if you can't understand it, you can read the vernacular translation at the back. But I'm going to tell you, a lot of the translated things are wrong, and you need to understand the real meaning yourself. I don't expect you to read this book thoroughly, I just need to look at the mantra to draw the line, and I've folded it......"
I opened this book of "Zhuangzi". The book has been turned very old by the wind gentleman, there are many places still written crooked "annotations", some unknown words are also marked with pinyin, at a glance you know that it is the handwriting of the wind gentleman. What's more interesting is that there are a few places in the original text that were crossed out, and then other words were written below, which seems to be the wind gentleman, who thought that the book was printed wrong, and changed it on his own. The underlined place has been folded in three sections:
The first paragraph is in the chapter "The World". "Yan replied: 'I can't go ahead and dare to ask him. Zhong Ni said: "If Zhai Wu will say that if he has a heart to do it, it is easy to be evil, and it is not suitable for Gao Tian." Yan Hui said: "Those who go back to their homes are poor, but those who do not drink alcohol and do not eat meat for a few months." In this way, it can be fasting?' said: 'It is a sacrificial fast, not a heart fast.' He replied, "Dare to ask your heart." Jonny said: "If one has no will, he will listen with his ears, and if he has no heart, he will listen with his heart, and he will listen to his breath! Those who are angry are also empty, and those who treat things are also. Only the Tao gathers the void. The empty heart is fasting. ’”
The second paragraph is in the chapter "The Great Master". "It is easy to tell the saint the talent of the saint in the way of the saint, and I still keep it, and then I can go out to the world, I have been outside the world, and I have kept it for seven days, and then I can go to the outside world, and then I can keep it for nine days, and then I can be born outside, and then I can go through it. After that, you can see the independence. Seeing the independence and then can be without the past and the present. There is no ancient and modern age, and then it can enter into immortality and immortality. The one who kills does not die, and the living do not live. It is everything, everything will be welcomed, everything will be destroyed, nothing will be done. Its name is Sakura. Sakura Ning is also a cherry, and then a person is also. ”
The third paragraph is also in the "Great Master" chapter. "Yan Hui said: 'Hui Yi. Zhong Ni said, 'What does it mean?' and said, 'Forget benevolence and righteousness.' He said, "But it is not yet." He saw him again and said, 'Return.' He said, "What do you mean?" and said, "Forget the rites." He said, "But it is not yet." He saw him again and said, 'Return.' He said, "What do you mean?" and said, "Sit back and forget." Zhong Ni suddenly said: "What is sitting and forgetting?" Yan Hui said: "Fallen limbs are degraded, and wisdom is separated from the form, and knowledge is the same as that of Datong, which is called sitting and forgetting." ’”
When I flipped through the book, Mr. Feng was still talking: "Have you ever heard of the Three Classics of Taoism? Lao Tzu is called Tao Te Ching, Zhuangzi is called Nanhua Jing, and Liezi is called Qingxu Jing. Alignment or Zhuangzi is more applicable. Many people pay attention to the introduction of meditation practice, starting with the body, then pranayama, and finally mind-setting. We are not monks, we don't talk about any rituals, and we just start with the mind, this is the right path......
"Auntie?" I had to interrupt Mr. Feng's words: "Wait, is this the Zhuangzi? Why are there two passages where you have crossed the line are the dialogues between Confucius and Yan Hui? This is also a formula? Or you can just give me a copy of the Analects." ”
Feng Junzi glared at me like a monster: "What do you want the Analects for? What's wrong with Confucius's words? There's nothing wrong with Confucius'? There's nothing wrong with going from 'Xinzhai' to 'Yingning' to 'Sitting and Forgetting'? You have not even started yet, you have a gateway view, who did you learn from? Each door has its own formula, I am too lazy to make up those smooth Zhuangzi articles, it is a pity not to borrow them! In fact, the mantra is just a kind of confirmation, it is not enough to have a mantra alone, but also to have a mental method. The mental method you want to learn now is also very simple, listen up......"
The "heart method" that the wind gentleman said is indeed very simple. He asked me to take two hours a day before going to bed, so that I could neither fall asleep nor think. Feng Junzi told me: Once people calm down, many distracting thoughts will arise one after another, and it is impossible to force them down. You can have all kinds of thoughts, but don't think about it, for example, you may suddenly think about something in class, but you can't think about what the teacher is talking about or how to do it, or you can think of a person, but you can't think about what this person is doing or what your relationship is with this person. There can be all kinds of distracting thoughts, but the consciousness cannot go with the thoughts. In short, like a glass of muddy water, place it in a quiet room and let the water go to natural precipitation.
After hearing this, I couldn't help but ask, "Isn't this just nothing?"
"Stay?" the Wind Gentleman almost cried out, "this is not the same as stay, you can't dream with your eyes open." Stay awake and not drowsy! The eyes can see but not see, and the ears can hear but not hear. First of all, we must be able to 'see' and 'hear', and then we must experience 'not seeing' and 'not listening'. The subtleties are only available to you yourself, and there is no way for others to tell you. As for the posture, you can breathe as you please......"
I asked, "So how long am I going to hold out like this?"
Wind Gentleman: "No one knows, you know it yourself." But I don't have time to wait too long, since Zhuangzi and his old man have made it very clear in the book, I will give you nineteen days. ”
......
The wind gentleman said a lot, but I still think it's just stupid. Just stay, just stay, and in this way, I embarked on a journey of "staying" every midnight. The Wind Gentleman told me that the posture was casual, but if I lay down, it was difficult not to fall asleep, and if I stood for two hours, I was afraid it would be enough, so I could only sit. In the middle of the night, my classmates were asleep, and I couldn't sit on a stool that would scare my roommates who woke up at night, so my only choice was to sit cross-legged on the bed. I don't know how to sit cross-legged, I can only recall the posture of those "heroes" practicing in martial arts film and television works, pretending to sit cross-legged on the bed.
It's easy to say, but once it does, it's very difficult, and the first problem is not that my mind is cluttered, but that I can't last two hours at all. Luckily, I was so cautious that I sat for two hours on the first day, and yawned vigorously during class the next day. Why? Didn't sleep well! When the wind gentleman saw it, he just said lightly that it was unnatural to be quiet, and he would feel that he was not sleepy when he was relaxed.
On the third day, I was not only sleepy, but also felt backache and leg gout, and the gentleman said that I don't have to sit stiff all the time, I can relax occasionally and relax step by step. How to relax, he let me try it myself, in short, he doesn't care about anything. But it's also strange that I was gradually sitting upright and seemed tired, but the more time passed, the more relaxed I felt. I'm not used to folding the quilt cross-legged and squared under my butt and it feels so much better.
A week has passed and I haven't felt anything else. But there are two changes that are not easy to notice, one is that my waist and legs are not sore, and the other is that I am not sleepy during the day. No one explained to me why I didn't think my waist and legs were sore, maybe it was the result of getting used to exercising. As for the good spirits during the day, it is the effect of meditation. When I meditated, I gradually stopped being drowsy, became very awake and sensitive. You can hear the slightest sound, even the sound of cars on the highway far away outside the campus. When I closed my eyes, I could see everything in the dormitory in a hazy way. Of course, this may not be a miracle because I have forgotten whether I have my eyes open or closed. Feng Junzi said that I was simple by nature and unpolluted (I am not a vegetable!), so "Shinsai" was not a difficult thing for me.
While I stayed every night, I was not idle during the day, trying to find a way to get close to those three "masters". There are some things that I thought were difficult before I did them, but once I did them with my heart, it often came naturally.
It was not difficult to get close to the old man who was doing Tai Chi, I first met the head teacher of Feng Junzi's primary school, and the old lady surnamed Cui mixed in with a bunch of old men and old ladies every morning to learn Tai Chi. A bunch of old people are very curious and enthusiastic about me, a new "child", and they teach me one trick at a time. I was able to keep up with the rhythm of the strokes very quickly. The old man's surname is Gao, and he is a retired old cadre. Since I have long known that Mr. Gao is different, I try my best to stand by his side when I box, and gradually a little bit of beauty is revealed: whenever I stand behind Mr. Gao and follow his movements, I feel very relaxed and comfortable, and every move and style has an involuntary force to drive, which is much better than doing radio gymnastics at school. As for the innate vitality that the wind gentleman said, I haven't been too embarrassed to ask.
The fortune teller at Qiaotou was surnamed Zhang, and I later called him Mr. Zhang. Mr. Zhang is very interesting, I pretend to watch the excitement at noon every day to watch him fortune telling, and he doesn't care that I do my own thing. Later, my face became familiar, and I occasionally nodded at me as a greeting, as if to say, "You're here again?"
I've been there for a few days, and now I'm in Fenghuang Qiaotou, this place is quite messy, and people litter every day with garbage such as melon peels and fruit pits. And this gentleman prefers to be clean, and when I went, the surroundings had been carefully cleaned, and he must have cleaned up by himself. So every morning after doing tai chi, before Mr. Zhang came out to set up a stall, I did one more thing. I took the broom and watering can from the classroom and went over to carefully clean the area around Mr. Zhang's stall and then sprinkle a layer of water (the dust on the side of the road is heavier).
After a few more days, I had just finished sweeping the floor that morning and was sprinkling water, and Mr. Zhang had already come over with the guy on his back. Usually, he didn't come so early, and when he saw me sprinkled water here, Mr. Zhang smiled and said, "I said who is so kind every day, it turned out to be you, thank you." ”
When I went over again at noon, Mr. Zhang didn't say anything, but handed me a small Mazha and asked me to sit next to him. That's how we got acquainted, and we gossiped together when no one was around. Mr. Zhang didn't ask me why I came to see him every day to tell his fortunes, but talked to me about things from all over the world. He was very knowledgeable, and the little thing in my stomach was not a fraction of what he had. I don't understand why such a person would make a living by setting up a stall to tell fortunes every day?
As for the noodle shop proprietress, the most dramatic experience I got to know her. I ate wontons at the noodle restaurant for a week, but I didn't talk to her for more than a la carte. And a week later, a chance came to the door.
It was dusk one day, and it was not yet dark, and I had finished eating a bowl of wontons and two dough cakes, and I was about to pay the bill and go out. Outside the door, a pallet truck pulled a cart of honeycomb coal. At that time, Wucheng liquefied steam was not yet popular, and the back kitchen of such a small noodle restaurant still burned honeycomb coal. It was not a car that delivered the coal, but a local rickshaw. The driver was unlucky today, slipped on the road, and his hand was bruised and bleeding. When the proprietress was paying, she quickly brought a sand cloth and water from the back for the coachman to clean and bandage the wound.
The coachman's injuries were not serious, but this cart of coal was in trouble. Usually, the coachman went to the back kitchen to carry the coals, and the proprietress paid two dollars more, but today it is not possible. When the coachman washed his hands, the proprietress looked at the cart of coal and frowned, but now she had to move it herself. I saw all this in my eyes, perhaps because I felt sorry for the jade, because I couldn't imagine that the little white hands of the proprietress were connected with this cart of black honeycomb coal. Naturally, I stood up and said, "Boss, I'll help you move this cart of coal." ”
"Oh, why are you embarrassed to trouble you, a student baby. "The hostess didn't expect me to help and quickly excuse myself.
"You're welcome, I'm from the mountains, and this little work is nothing. "As I spoke, I had rolled up my sleeves and gone to the cart to carry coal, and I felt a little heavy when I lifted eight pieces of honeycomb coal at a time. The proprietress didn't say anything more when she saw that I had already done it, but hurriedly went to open the kitchen door. By the time I finished transporting this load of coal, it had been more than half an hour, and although I was not very tired, I was still sweating. The proprietress thanked me repeatedly, brought me water and towels, the towels are probably the proprietress herself, and the smell on it is very good.
That's how I met the hostess, and then we got to know each other more. The proprietress is surnamed Han, and I call her Sister Han with a cheeky face. Sister Han is a foreigner and has been here to open a noodle restaurant for three years. I've always wanted to ask her how old she is, but I've never been embarrassed to ask, because I heard the gentleman say that it is rude to ask about the age of a beautiful woman. Unconsciously come and go, you will become familiar with it, and there will be more opportunities for contact and more things to do. In addition to moving honeycomb coal, I often help Sister Han buy flour (that thing is also quite heavy, and the noodle restaurant has a large amount, so I have to buy it once every two days, and when I move, I often stick a layer of white powder on my body and stain my clothes, which is not suitable for Sister Han's work), tidy up the table, boil water, fetch water, and other heavy work, and occasionally help her mix noodles (the big dough in the noodle shop is a hard work).
Sister Han likes it very much that I can help her. One day, I moved the flour to the back kitchen and glued a layer of white on it, and she dusted my hair and said, "I really don't have a partner like you in this noodle shop, and sometimes I can't be busy alone, so you can go to school next to me, or come to work with me." I'm a small trader, and I don't give much money, but you don't have to go to the school cafeteria to eat here in the future. Otherwise, I'm embarrassed if you always help me!"
I was polite for a long time and said that I should help, and I resolutely didn't want Sister Han's salary, I still have to go to class, so I can't always help her here. Later, it was settled in such a daze, and when I had free time, I would help eat in the noodle restaurant, and I didn't need to be paid. But I don't always eat three meals a day there, I just go for dinner often. Actually, I eat three meals a day in Sister Han's noodle restaurant, and Sister Han won't mind, but I feel embarrassed. I'm going to do tai chi in the morning, I'm going to see a fortune teller at noon, and I can only help a little time in the evening and on weekends, so I can't take advantage of her too much.
As the saying goes, there is nothing difficult in the world, only afraid of people with hearts, or afraid of thieves, or afraid of thieves, afraid of thieves. There are some things that you can always think of as long as you put your heart into it. After half a month, I have gotten along very well with the three "masters" mentioned by Feng Junzi. Help out at Sister Han's noodle shop. I have become a year-old friend with Mr. Zhang, and I often listen to him talk about some fortune-telling. As for Elder Gao, he took the initiative to teach me a new set of boxing techniques.
Gao always heard that I came here to practice Tai Chi because I was weak, and took the initiative to teach me a set of boxing techniques that are said to strengthen my body. I don't know what the name of this boxing method is, it was taught to him by a comrade-in-arms before the liberation of Gao Lao. The movements are not too complicated, there are five sets, and it takes ten minutes to practice one set, and the elder told me that one set of exercises is enough. When Elder Gao taught me this set of boxing, I realized that practicing boxing also requires adjusting the mind and practicing qi, and it is far from enough to have movements. This set of boxing methods actually has a mental method, and there is also a kung fu of moving into silence, as for adjusting the mind and entering the meditation, it is actually similar to what the wind gentleman said, but the difference is that with the movements, it also guides the qi veins of different parts of the body. But I don't understand what it means to run the qi veins, and the old man said that there is no need to be reluctant, and the kung fu will naturally come when it arrives. He told me that you don't even have to memorize the route of the qi veins when you are proficient.
After I learned boxing, I went back and demonstrated it to Feng Junzi from beginning to end, and Feng Junzi shook his head while watching it, saying that this didn't look like any boxing technique. The next day, he came to me again and excitedly said that he had found out in the book that I was practicing five poultry operas. The Five Fowl Opera is said to be created by Hua Tuo imitating the movements of the five animals, but the Feng Junzi said that the Five Fowl Opera I practiced is not the same as the Hua Tuo Five Fowl Opera that is now circulating, and practicing it in this way can indeed strengthen the body, but if you want to cultivate the innate vitality, I am afraid it is still very early. I think it's really early, the old man started practicing in his thirties, and he is seventy-eight this year!
......
It has become a pleasure for me to get along with the three "masters", but I still have no experience of what Zhuangzi said about "Yingning" and "sitting and forgetting". I can now appreciate what it means to be "void and quiet", but I don't know what it should be if I go any further. During this time, the Wind Gentleman didn't teach me anything, but Shang Yunfei was always a bit ghostly. One night, when I was returning to the dormitory after self-study, Yun Fei stopped me on the road and asked, "Are you learning the Tao from the Wind Gentleman? What did he teach you?"
Feng Junzi didn't tell me these things, and I can't tell anyone else, and from my point of view, he didn't teach me anything other than giving me a copy of the Zhuangzi. So I replied, "I did want to learn from him, but he didn't teach me anything." ”
"How can I see this, you think you meditate every night, I don't know? Yun Fei's tone was obviously unbelieving.
Yunfei didn't believe it, and I didn't have any scheming, and I didn't expect that a "master" like Shang Yunfei would ask me about any secrets. So I told Shang Yunfei everything that the Wind Gentleman taught me. After hearing this, Yun Fei really frowned: "It's just nonsense, how can you be so irresponsible, put the duck in the water, naturally swimmer, people can't." He's letting you go like a duck. No, no, no, I'll have to take care of it. Ishino: Ishino, I'll teach you a little bit of meditation introductory exercises, would you like to learn it?"
