Chapter 3 Returns
Zen Master Jingyuan's kindness was taken lightly by Li He, and he was quite annoyed, and he forced himself to suppress the anger in his heart.
Folded his hands and said: "Amitofu, the old man was too aggressive in his words the day before yesterday, causing the donor to vomit blood and fall ill. I was quite scared. I came today with a medicine stone to help the giver recover. However, the donor is as healthy as ever, and the old man has a lot of troubles. That's it. β
As he spoke, he frowned and glanced at the peasant in the courtyard who was carrying roe deer meat, and said with compassion on his face: "Everything in the world is equal. Among the remaining sins, killing karma is the heaviest. Among all the merits, release is the first. I hope that the donors will put down the butcher's knife and abandon greed. You must not create sinful karma, otherwise it will be too late to repent. β
Li He said with a smile: "How can all things in the world be equal. Tigers don't eat meat, and cattle and sheep don't eat grass. Is there no more living soul in the world? Only the grass and trees are left, which is the realm pursued by Buddhism?"
Zen Master Jingyuan, who was about to leave, stopped, faced Li He and said, "Changji still has to argue with Lao Gu today?"
Saying that, he put his palms together and said the Buddha's name: "Buddhism has no desire to win, everything is to sacrifice oneself and promote Buddhism." Creatures in the world, vegetarians can also survive. Taking the life of the living soul is really against the peace of heaven. I Buddhism is not for fame and profit. All beings are equal. β
Li He laughed loudly, and his voice vibrated through the woods.
"All beings are equal. What are sentient beings? Human beings are sentient beings; birds and animals are sentient beings; are flowers, plants, and trees not sentient beings? When the master swallowed a grain of rice, he never thought that you had eaten rice, a seed that would spread to future generations? The realm of Buddhism is poor, and it is useless to argue further. β
After Li He finished speaking, he arched his hand at Zen Master Jingyuan, and his attitude was idle. Zen Master Jingyuan was so angry that he trembled all over, and he couldn't stand steadily, and only with the support of the two little novices did he stop his staggering steps.
After taking a big breath, he asked, "When did Changji abandon Confucianism and follow the Tao?"
Li He pointed to the sky and said heroically: "The arguments of Taoism are also small ways. They only know that the Tao is natural, and they advocate non-action. Don't you know that everything in the world is to be progressed? For example, in the past, people could not weave cloth, but could only cover their bodies with linen. Nowadays, it is not uncommon to be able to wear not only cotton cloth, but also silk. Changji is talking about humanitarian, non-Confucian and Taoist doctrines. Master, don't get me wrong. β
Zen Master Jingyuan was stunned, and said with difficulty: "There are countless people in the world who believe in Buddhism and Taoism, and how many people understand your truth?"
Li He laughed and laughed wildly.
"Everyone knows my truth. And those who can't withstand the blow and fail are cowardly, so they go to superstition and self-abandonment. The master's knowledge is boundless, can you let everyone in the world become a monk? Everyone knocks on the wooden fish and recites the scriptures, who will supply the Buddhist incense? The master should not deceive himself. β
Zen Master Jingyuan was stunned by Li He's fallacies and wanted to refute them, but he had no words to say. A sullen breath was pressed between the chest and abdomen, and there was no discharge. The chest rose and fell several times, and a stream of heat broke through the internal organs. In an instant, his face was like gold paper, and he fell crookedly on the novice. The two little novices were panicked and immediately at a loss.
Li He picked up Zen Master Jingyuan forward, carried him into his room, and placed him on his bed. One palm slowly smoothed down Zen Master Jingyuan's chest, and then pressed hard. Zen Master Jingyuan immediately breathed smoothly, and his face gradually turned red.
The two little novices were busy calling forward, but were stopped by Li He.
"The master needs to recuperate for two hours. I'm going to get some medicine, and I'm going to leave. β
After Li He finished speaking, he clicked a few times on Zen Master Jingyuan's chest to seal the bloodline. Then he went out of the room and went to the courtyard to bow his hand to the villagers.
"Today, all the villagers can come to visit, Li Erlang is grateful. If you need help from other folks, don't be polite to me. In addition to reading, I have a little bit of knowledge of the art of Huang. If you are sick and it is inconvenient to seek medical treatment, you may wish to consult Erlang. I'm going to take medicine for Master Jingyuan to heal, so I won't accompany you. β
After saying that, he picked up the basket and hoe that had been prepared, took off the sweat towel on the clothesline, and went out.
His humility and joy made all the villagers unique.
Wang Erniu, who had played with him since he was a child, hurriedly chased to the door and said, "Erlang, do you know where to find medicine?" I'll take you there!"
"No, I can find it. β
The voice came from afar, and Li He's people were gone. I only heard the sound of dogs barking in the deep alleys.
Dou Shi hurriedly poured two bowls of white water, asked her husband Li Dalang to bring them into the house, and gave them to the two little novices who accompanied Zen Master Jingyuan.
When he came out, Li Dalang whispered, "I'm already asleep." β
The voices of the villagers unconsciously became much quieter.
Aunt Wang Si whispered to Mrs. Zheng and asked, "Old lady, when did Erlang learn medical skills?"
"The knowledge of the book is all-encompassing, and Erlang has studied it since childhood. It's not uncommon to know some Qihuang techniques. He caught this roe deer last night!" said Mrs. Zheng.
Ah, how could he be a weak scholar, so how could he go up to the mountains to hunt? If you don't believe it, he still carries the roe deer meat given by others.
When everyone was surprised, Wang Erniu exclaimed: "Erlang's feet are really fast, like a gust of wind." I got to the door with my front foot, and he was already half a mile away. With such good skills, it's not easy to catch a roe deer?"
As he spoke, he bowed to the old lady and asked, "Old lady, Erlang has such good skills, why didn't he show it before?"
All the villagers know that Mrs. Zheng was born in a noble family, which is not comparable to ordinary rural women. is extremely polite and thoughtful to her, especially Wang Erniu.
Mrs. Zheng smiled: "You haven't read a book, and you don't know the principles of Confucianism. The book pays attention to the gentleman to be humble and introverted, and not to be exposed. Erlang used to be only dedicated to fame, but these side matters were thrown aside. Now that he is seriously ill, everything has been seen. Just don't hide it anymore. Last night, a few of our mothers were also scared by him. Erlang is not a frivolous person, he said that he can practice medicine and consult, and he is confident. In the future, if there is anything wrong with your health, go to him for healing. Don't hold on. β
Mrs. Zheng said a lot of words, and everyone didn't understand it. It's all about it.
Although I was worried about how Li Erlang would heal the old monk, it was not good to disturb the Li family for a long time. For a while, everyone thanked and retired. Only Wang Erniu remained at Li's house and chatted with Li Dalang.
However, it was said that Li He entered the West Mountain and went south along the mountain trail. Go straight to the lone peak high above the clouds. When I arrived at the bottom of the cliff where there was no way out, I jumped a few traces of my body and climbed to the cliff of the lonely peak. Quickly pick the required medicinal materials such as Luobu hemp leaves, Ganoderma lucidum, and hooked vine from the cliffs.
Go up to the cliff and enter the dense forest at the top of the peak, looking for precious medicines such as gastrodia, yellow essence, and kudzu. When he was digging gastrodia under the cracks of the stone with a small hoe, he smelled a fishy wind.
When I looked in the direction of the wind, I saw a spotted python, which was entrenched on an ancient tree five or six feet away. Nobuko made a slight sound, and her eyes glowed green.
Li He was happy when he saw it, and said with a smile: "Five hundred years of cultivation have not yet taken on an adult form, how did you refine it?" β
Strange to say, the snake seemed to understand him. Obediently got down from the tree, meandered in, and came to the front and crossed over. He held his head high, still spitting out letters. Between the twists of the neck, the naΓ―ve is cute.
Li He looked at the spotted python and muttered, "Presumably you don't understand why you have passed the transformation period and still haven't been able to cultivate. That's because forty-seven years ago, you devoured a soldier who was passing by and went home to visit his mother, and committed the wrath of heaven. Even though you've wasted another thirty years, you can't go any further. It's really shackled by the mountain gods. β
The spotted python seemed to be very angry, shook its head for a while, and spat out the letter. He quickly became depressed again, and his head hung down.
Li He smiled: "Do you want to know the method of cracking the Dao?"
I saw that the spotted python lowered its head and raised it high.
Li He said again: "Borrow your Neidan and I'll pay you back in the evening." Don't worry, use your Neidan to save people, and you are still a Buddhist monk. Your shackles will be untied in no time. The inner pill that is stained with the breath of Buddhism will help you in your spiritual practice. As he spoke, he opened his right hand to the python.
The spotted python seemed to hesitate, but still put its mouth to the palm of its hand and spit out a blood-red bead.
Li He took a closer look at the beads and blamed the python: "Your cultivation is not pure, and there are many black puffs on the inner dan." Remember, don't speak to humans in the future. Unless it is self-preservation, it must not harm people's lives. You also want to transform into a human form, how can you fall into the devil's path?"
Seeing the python hanging its head, obediently listened to the training. Li He didn't ramble any more, took Neidan into his arms, and turned around to dig out the gastrodia in the crack in the stone.
Packed up the basket full of medicinal herbs and patted the python coiled beside him. He smiled: "Wait for me here in the middle of the moon at night, hurry back to your nest." Don't come out and wander, do you know the way?"
After speaking, he carried the basket on his back and climbed down the cliff.
When they got home, the old lady was sewing and mending clothes in the sun, the sister-in-law was feeding the chickens in the yard with corn, the eldest brother and Wang Erniu were repairing the goods on the side, and the two little novices were also squatting on the side to watch. Under the light of the early spring sun, the small courtyard is quiet and peaceful.
Li He took out the herbs in the basket, washed them with water, and then prepared a pair of medicines and handed them to his sister-in-law to boil. I went into the room to check on Jing Yuan's symptoms.
Seeing that he was breathing evenly, he took out the python Neidan from his arms. At the temples of Zen Master Jingyuan, the acupoints of the middle of the body, etc., the massage is repeated with Neidan. The flush on Zen Master Jingyuan's face gradually faded, and then turned pale. After a while, he was sweating profusely.
Half an hour later, the sister-in-law boiled the herbs and handed them to the little novice to bring in. Li He put away the inner pill and slapped it at the middle point of Zen Master Jingyuan. Zen Master Jingyuan woke up quietly. Li He ignored the surprised patient, motioned for the little novice to give him medicine, and walked out of the room by himself.
When Mrs. Zheng saw that her son's clothes were scratched in several places, she asked him to take them off and wash and sew them. He also called Da Lang to go and get clean clothes for his brother. Li He was prevaricating, and there was a voice of thanks from Zen Master Jingyuan behind him.
"Amitabha, the old man came to visit the patient, but was saved by the patient. What is it? Thank you to the donor for not remembering the old evils, but for being compassionate. The old man has nothing to repay, only in front of the Bodhisattva, to pray for the donor's incense pillar. β
Li He still leaned on his mother and took off his shirt.
He turned around and said aloud, "You don't have to thank me. If you are angry and I vomit blood, I will repay you. We don't owe each other. Master, please go back!"
Zen Master Jingyuan was surprised, and only the Buddha of the Tao clasped his hands together on the heads of the Li family. Except for Li He, the Li family all stood up and returned the salute. Even Wang Erniu is no exception. After saluting each other, Zen Master Jingyuan walked away with the support of two little novices.
Wang Erniu was about to step forward and ask Li He how he treated this old monk.
A man's voice came from outside the door: "Changji, Changji, I'm coming." β
