Chapter 44 The right and wrong of making meritorious deeds
The big brother Chiling that Lu Zheng understands is a simple, innocent, honest and affectionate Chiyan leopard demon. If he asks him about something in normal times, Brother Chiling will definitely know everything about him and say everything. I think that not long after they knew each other, Chi Ling Ke just told Lu Zheng about the ins and outs of his Red Flame Leopard clan, including all the things about his eldest brother Chi Yuanyi, like pouring beans into a bamboo tube, and did not hide it at all, but it made Lu Zheng, who was known as Lu Zhiyi at the time, feel a little guilty because he felt that he had concealed something.
But at this time, when Lu Zheng turned to him and asked him why he was waiting for the Buddhist monks to make a move, the red spirit who turned into the original body of the Red Flame Leopard whined in a low voice, and slowly turned his back to Lu Zheng without saying a word, and lay on the ground and looked in the direction of the cultivation world, looking very sad. Lu Zheng was even more taken aback, this is something that has never happened before, what is wrong with Brother Chiling?
Lu Zheng has seven emotions, and he is very sensitive to the changes in the seven emotions of all things, and he senses that Chi Ling's body exudes an extremely fiery sadness, and there is a deep sense of self-blame and guilt in the sadness. What kind of thing would make Chi Ling feel like this again? Lu Zheng thought about it for a while, and he already understood a little. He bowed his hand to the resentful monk, then stepped forward and squatted down to look at the sad Red Flame Leopard, and said softly, "Brother Red Spirit, are you thinking about the people of the Red Flame Leopard Clan?"
Chi Ling's eyes blinked a few times as he stared ahead, as if he had lowered his head in disappointment because he hadn't seen what he wanted to see after all. He heard Lu Zheng's words, but he didn't answer, but buried his head deep between his feet. Lu Zheng saw that the actions of the red spirit at this time were like a red flame leopard in the mountains, where was there still a little bit of the momentum of a big demon, and he knew that what he guessed could never be wrong. With the personality of Brother Chiling, in addition to the matter of the Red Flame Leopard clan. There could have been nothing else that would have made him so deranged.
But the question is, what is the relationship between the matter of the Red Flame Leopard Clan and the Angry Monk from the Flame Nunnery of the Angry Mountain in front of him? What is it that will make Brother Chi Ling ignore it and directly act like the Angry Heart Monk and the others? In the current situation, of course, Lu Zheng could not ask Red Ling again, so he reached out and patted the Red Flame Leopard's back twice. Then he got up and came to the front of the angry monk and said, "Master." Just now you mentioned the Master of the Eight Sufferings, could it be that the Master of the Eight Sufferings is the resident mountain of the White Tiger Temple of Huanxi Mountain, known as the Master of the Eight Sufferings of the Ascetic?"
The angry monk also saw Chi Ling's actions, and felt that this monster was so sad, knowing that Lu Zheng couldn't bear to disturb it at this time, and instead wanted to seek the cause from himself. He was a member of the Buddhist sect, and although he held strict precepts, he was magnanimous, like an ascetic. I don't attach so much importance to the distinction between demons and demons in my heart, and when I heard Lu Zheng mention the ascetic, I was a little surprised: "Yes, does the donor recognize my senior brother and the monk of the Eight Bitters?"
Lu Zheng laughed and said, "Don't hide it from the master, the junior is originally a boy in the world, and it was the Master of the Eight Bitters who brought me into the cultivation world. At that time, the younger generation was infected with strange poisons, if it weren't for the great monk's diligence and hard work. My life is long gone. Now that I think about it, it was years ago. ”
The resentful monk was also surprised. He said, "Oh, I didn't expect the donor to have such a relationship with my Buddhism. It's just that the poor monk and the eight bitter senior brothers haven't seen each other for a long time since they said goodbye to Foshan. What's more, Senior Brother Eight Bitter practices it heavily, does not like to talk nonsense, and will not tell humanity about the good deeds he has done, so he has never heard of this fate. ”
Lu Zheng also said: "The younger generation heard that Buddhism is extremely important. If they are brothers in the same mountain, the characters must be the same. The master is different from the Eight Sufferings, it should be because one is in the Mountain of Anger and the other is in the Mountain of Joy, I don't know how the two masters met?"
The resentful monk said: "The poor monk and the eight bitter senior brothers have known each other very early. At that time, both of us were pre-ordained monks and practiced in Foshan......"
The monk of anger told Lu Zheng about the process of his acquaintance with the monk of the Eight Sufferings, it turned out that they did not know each other in the first place, the monk of anger was not originally from the Anger Mountain, but from the immeasurable monastery of Fangguang Ridge, and the ascetic monk was not from Huanxi Mountain, but from the Dahui Temple of Wuxiang Peak. The acquaintance of the two is what the Confucian monk said, and he practiced as a pre-ordained monk in Foshan.
There is a rule in Buddhism that when any cultivator in the Ten Mountains achieves the realm of knowledge, he will be qualified to enter Foshan to practice, and will be personally instructed by the elders and monks above the Buddha and even the worldly venerable, and he is called a pre-ordained monk. Of course, this does not mean that as long as you reach the cultivation of the realm of knowledge, you have the qualifications to enter Foshan to become a pre-ordained monk, in addition to the achievement of cultivation, you also need to get the unanimous permission of the three people in the temple, the Dharma seat, and the precept master. The affirmation shared by these three people certainly includes the consideration of the disciple's heart, precepts, merits, and other aspects!
And Foshan does not always accept pre-ordained monks, and each time there is an interval of 30 years. Why is there such a long time apart? Because the so-called pre-ordained monks are not just to guide these disciples in their spiritual progress, but also have other purposes. Each pre-ordained monk is trained as a candidate for the resident mountain, Dharma seat, and ordination master among the ten mountains of the Buddha Gate, which is also the origin of the name pre-ordained monk. The ten mountains and ten major temples of Buddhism, a total of 30 resident mountains, Dharma seats and ordination masters are not selected by the temples themselves, but are all assigned by Foshan.
Becoming a resident mountain, Dharma seat, or ordination master requires corresponding different practices, so Foshan will train and cultivate them according to the different characteristics of each disciple who knows the realm. Of course, this itself will also refer to the wishes of these disciples themselves, even if they are selected into Foshan, if the disciples themselves refuse, Foshan will not force it. Foshan does not have too strict regulations on the number of disciples selected by the Ten Mountains every thirty years, as long as it is not less than ten.
These pre-ordained monks have to practice in Foshan for a long time, and only after breaking through the realm of knowing fate will they obtain the qualifications assigned by Foshan and go to a certain temple to become a resident mountain, Dharma seat and ordination teacher. Because of this, there is also a rule in the Ten Mountains of Buddhism, that is, every 50 years, there will be a new residence, Dharma seat and ordination, and all predecessors will return to Foshan to continue their practice or serve as elders and monks in the temple. Although the rules are like this, it does not mean that all the pre-ordained monks have such an opportunity, first of all, whether they can break through the realm of knowing fate is a big difficulty, and on the other hand, the total number of resident mountains, Dharma seats, and precept masters of the ten mountains of Buddhism is only ninety. And the disciples of the Ten Mountains of Buddhism who are recommended to know the realm are often far greater than the number of ninety, so what will happen to the disciples who are more than ninety?
According to the rules of Foshan, such disciples are often assigned to enter the human world to spread the Dharma. Entering the human world is not a satisfactory assignment compared to being in the spiritual world. Because there are extremely strict requirements for entering the human world, first of all, after entering the human world, you are not allowed to use supernatural powers, so monks are not allowed to use supernatural powers to transmit the law. The second rule is that monks who are assigned to enter the human world are not allowed to enter the spiritual world again, and must remain in the human world forever until the end of their life. Only when the monk's life is exhausted is allowed to show some supernatural powers to the people of the world, indicating his origin.
Because of these two reasons, it means that everything we face in the world is extremely difficult. If you can't use supernatural powers, you can only spread the Dharma in the realm of physical and mental evidence, and you will encounter physical and mental tribulations that are as difficult to face as mortals. Why does Foshan stipulate such strange rules, firstly, because people in the world have no supernatural powers, and secondly, it also shows that the Buddha's practice and liberation are not in supernatural powers. Therefore, many monks are reluctant to accept such assignments, preferring to stay in the spiritual world.
However, there are also advantages to entering the human world in this way, especially for the cultivation of the power of great wishes, which has unimaginable achievements in the cultivation world. On the other hand, if such a monk is reincarnated after being seated, he will be allowed to enter the spiritual world again. Such a monk will have the qiē that he has demonstrated in his previous life, as well as the power of his great wishes, which is extremely valuable, as well as the power of the mind collected by sentient beings, and his practice after reincarnation will be much easier than in his previous life, and it will be easier to achieve a higher realm. Therefore, there are still some monks who make great vows and enter the world to preach the Dharma.
This is the pre-ordained monk of Buddhism, and he has the merit of connecting the past and the next for the inheritance of the ten mountains of Buddhism. And the monks and ascetics of resentment are the previous Buddhist pre-ordination monks, that was already 30 years ago, they have broken through the realm of knowledge after practicing in Foshan for 20 years, just in time for Buddhism to replace the ten mountains in the mountains, the Dharma seat and the precept master. Neither the monk nor the dervishes entered the human world to preach the Dharma, and the dervishes were assigned to be the resident of the White Tiger Temple on Huanxi Mountain, and he became the ordination master of the Flame Nunnery on the Angry Mountain.
The monk also said that when he was in Foshan, every pre-ordained monk lived in the practice cave, and his practice cave happened to be the closest to the ascetic's practice cave, so the two were also the most familiar, and their personalities and tempers were also similar, so they often pointed out each other and inspired the practice of Buddhism, and the friendship was very deep. However, since they were assigned to the mountain by their respective parties, the two have not seen each other again, and it has been ten years!
As the ordination master of the Flame Nunnery, the Monk of Anger basically does not leave the mountain much because of the precepts of the First Nunnery. In addition, people in Buddhism pay attention to pure cultivation and have oral precepts, so they don't like to talk about the rights and wrongs of others, so they know very little about each other's affairs. Over the years, the only thing that the resentful monk knew about the ascetic monk was to hear that he was dismissed from the White Tiger Temple in Huanxi Mountain because of his sexual precepts, and was taken to Foshan to be punished and carved Buddha statues to meditate on his sorrows.
When Lu Zheng heard this, he understood the origin of the monk of resentment, it turned out that he still had such a friendship with the ascetic, so he respected him even more. Hearing him talk about the ascetic monk's breaking of his vows, he couldn't help but ask, "Master, is it true that the great monk broke his vows?" (To be continued......
