vs 9 Baptism of faith
In a separate office on the innermost floor of the inner hall of Kavalburg, Pedi sat on the edge of his desk, his hands rubbing his throbbing forehead. He has been in this position since Daisily Pombo left, and Daisily Pombo has been away for at least an hour.
Even though an hour had passed, the anguish in Pedi's heart had not lessened.
With a "bang", Pei Di casually picked up the teacup on the desk, and the tea rolled down between the broken porcelain tiles. He stared at the place where the tea was slowly eroded on the wall, and muttered in a voice that looked like a demon, "It's a dead man!"
Peddy's face was still hot after Daisily Pombo's words, and he only felt that what he had done some time ago was like an entertaining clown show on the stage repertoire. Before today, Pedi thought he was in control of Crewe, he thought the courtesy of the nobles was a recognition of his rule, and he thought he would be the forerunner of the great reforms that would lead the people of Crewe.
But reality gave Pedi a resounding slap in the face!
His successful career was nothing more than the inevitable result of a trade.
"A deal!" Pedi said to himself, standing up and walking to the well-lit window.
The September sun was a little hot, and Pei Di felt the hot temperature on his skin, looking at the sweaty training of a group of young knights on the school field near the city wall outside, and everything that had happened in the last six months echoed in his mind.
After the Battle of Twak, Pedi received a secret letter from his father asking him to follow the example of the Central Empire to reform the commercial trade of Krull, but Pedi didn't think much of it at the time, because he felt that it was the right decision.
Later, the reform encountered resistance, and Hades, who was closest to Pedi, was forced to transfer out of Kawalburg. Since then, and because of that compromise, Pedi has taken the reform seriously. This led to the establishment of new trade routes and the hanging of dozens of nobles who had joined forces with the Iruk rebels.
Then came the rebellion of Bell Cade.
"Bell Cade...," Pedi whispered.
Since this rebellion, the commercial reforms in the rest of the Crewe Territory have gone so smoothly that even Pedi himself is a little unconvinced.
Until today, Pedi had always believed that it was the thunderous tactics of the rebellion that kept the nobles from making a move. But after Daisily Pombo's words, he understood that it had nothing to do with him, that he was at most an executor.
"A deal. Pedi repeated the whisper.
"A deal?" Pedy's mind snapped into thinking about something, something important. But when he thought about it, he found that there was nothing.
The chaotic thoughts that struck him in an instant made Pedi's head feel as if it were about to explode, and he walked quickly to his desk, grabbing a piece of hard brown paper and charcoal.
'Rustle'
The tip of the charcoal pen swiped and several lives and place names appeared on the cowhide: Darick Danny, Bell Cade, Seke Marat, Prime Minister Nick Reagan, Central Empire, Crewe, Elok Rebels, Elves, Mage Tower.
Pedi refers to his father as the prime minister!
And these names and place names have recently appeared frequently in the Pedi review documents.
Looking at the names, Pedi fell into deep thought.
After about seven or eight minutes, he picked up a charcoal pen and used curves on brown paper to connect the names of people and places.
'Rustle'
As the series of curves increased, Peidi's thoughts gradually became clearer, and the names of people and places on the brown paper became more and more.
For example, the late Emperor Laubert, the newly crowned Emperor Sinda Danedive, the current Imperial Prime Minister Woz Pedro, and Duke Eric, who fought on the Western Front of the Empire, etc.
But as the number of place names and names of people increased, Peidi's mind fell into confusion again.
"Suction"
"Whew"
Time passed slowly, and Peidi only felt trapped in a foggy circle and could not get out, he was so tired that he breathed heavily, and the fine beads of sweat on his forehead 'ticked, ticked' on the brown paper, and fell on the dense names of people and places.
The holy power of 'ε²ε²' quietly gathered around Peidi's body,
The stone floors, chairs, desks, etc., all within two meters of Pei Di's center, except for the kraft paper in his hand, seemed to be squeezed by a vacuum and began to slowly deform.
"Bang"
"Bang Bang"
A dull loud bang echoed through the office with the sound of countless small things colliding, and the hardwood work was squeezed and deformed by invisible pressure, and dense sawdust spilled on the ground between the flying papers.
But Pei Di, who was immersed in the ocean of his thoughts, didn't notice it at all! And the holy power gathered around Pei Di didn't seem to be satisfied with destroying the status quo, and the golden halo wrapped around Pei Di began to slowly spread around.
The door to the office was violently pushed open, and Erin Field, dressed in a purple dress, entered the room with a golden staff like a lightning bolt, and with the dance of her wrist, a thick magic shield was placed on her body and shouted to Bangor-Pombo who was about to break in: "Get out, from now on, I won't call you, and no one can enter this office." β
Banger-Pombo was stunned and didn't leave the room immediately.
"Do as I say!" Erin Phier didn't care so much, as her fingers sketched the magic circle appeared, and a wave of magical energy immediately squeezed into Bange-Pombo's chest, and Bang-Pombo was blown out upside down while the door was tightly closed.
Erin Phil ignored Banger-Pombo, who flew out upside down, her blue eyes were full of the golden halo around Pedy, and whispered, "Is this a little difficult?"
Although it was difficult to do, the movements in her hands did not dare to stop all. I saw that a little staff in her hand, and the rich cyan magic element instantly surrounded her body, and at the same time, her bare feet were gently floating in the air after a little bit of the bottom plate.
"Buzz"
A strange soft sound echoed through the office, and the earth-colored magic shield around Erin Fil began to twirl. Her toes lightly slid in mid-air, and her body instantly flashed outside the golden halo formed by the holy power.
The interweaving of the "Zizi" holy power and the magic shield is a complex noise with the limit of hearing.
Erin Fei'er frowned slightly at the sound, ignoring the elemental energy squeezing towards her, and began to draw one complex circle after another with the swing of her staff.
Soon, the cyan and peaceful water elemental energy began to gather around Erin Fei'er, and at an extremely fast speed, it enveloped the holy power that was in a state of rage around Pedi.
After four or five minutes, the elemental impact of the riot became more intense, but the holy power spreading in all directions was successfully stopped, and all uncontrolled elemental energy gradually subsided.
However, Pedi still did not move, and the golden halo gathered around him did not disappear.
Erin Phil looked at Paddy with a worried look on her face, and that was all she could do.
She had read about the situation in the Magic Anthology, countless powerful paladins in history would be tested by faith at some stage, and Pedi's current situation was almost exactly the same as recorded in the anthology!
The paladin's test of faith is an extremely serious matter, but there is no way to predict this, and it usually occurs when the paladin's mentality changes dramatically.
The most recent documented was on the battlefield of Anku Fortress two hundred years ago, and the final result was, of course, a failure.
Regarding the paladin's test of faith, there is also a name for 'the curse of the goddess'!
Because, it's a cruel test... If you pass, you will naturally become a real strongman, but if you can't pass it, the holy power will not only stay away from the tester, but also devour all the wisdom of the tester, and in layman's terms, you will become an idiot, and even lose your life because of it.
In the office, the vacuum formed by the compression of the Holy Force cut off all contact between Peddy and the outside world, and now Peddy can only rely on himself. At this moment, Pei Di's mind was still full of the names of people and places, and the golden light in front of him was full of the way these people usually spoke.
Soon, however, the names of these names and places dissipated from Pedi's mind, and in their place was a warm current that hit his nerves, and a feeling of warmth and comfort that had never been felt before began to hit Pedi.
It felt like a mother's embrace, and like the joy of absorbing supplies in the placenta.
It's a feeling of lingering, a feeling of being intoxicated by it. All tired people dream of such a refreshing feeling, as if they were swimming in the cloud beds of heaven in mythological stories.
Pedi is so enchanted that he wants to travel here until the end of the world.
But suddenly, a cold sensation rose up his spine, and for a moment it began to spread over his limbs again.
The feeling of comfort is still pure, but Pedi's memories of the past are slowly returning.
Where am I?
He began to question.
I should be in my own office!
He asked himself.
But why am I here again?
The problem started again.
I'm thinking about a question!
Pedi's memories slowly became real as the questions came true, and then he felt very uncomfortable, as if someone had covered his face with a pillow while he was asleep and wouldn't let him breathe.
He wanted to take a big breath, but he couldn't breathe in the fresh air with all his might!
If it goes on like this, I'll suffocate to death!
He thought so to himself.
He wanted to get rid of this 'pillow', but no matter how much he struggled, it didn't help.
Is this a dream, or is it a magical fantasy?
Someone attacked me while I was thinking about it?
There was something strange about his idea.
"Holy power is omnipotent!"
Suddenly, Pedi remembered a phrase that Bishop Jeffred had taught him.
That's right!
Pei Di calmed down the discomfort caused by the suffocation as he gathered the holy power as usual.
Suddenly, a foul sound echoed in my ears like an iron tool rubbing against it.
The next moment, the feeling of weightlessness came.
The feeling of "pounce" on the ground is cold and hard for Pedi to feel real.
"Whew" he began to breathe heavily.
"Welcome back, dear. A purple figure appeared in front of Pedy's eyes, and Pedi felt a warm sensation on his cheeks. It was Erin Phier's left hand resting lightly on Pedy's cheek, and she asked softly, "How's it going, it feels okay." β
Pedi looked at the golden staff on his fiancΓ©e's right hand, "It's like a pleasant but dangerous dream." He said as he stood up and frowned at the clutter in the office, "What's going on?"
"You've just experienced the baptism of the Paladin's faith. "After a gentle wave of the staff in Erinfield's hand, a simple 'mnemonic' was unfolded, and the room began to slowly return to the neat appearance it had been half an hour ago.
"Baptism of faith?" said Petdy, holding his tired body and sitting on the nearby sofa, he stretched out his hand and began to gather the holy power, "I just feel like I've been in heaven for a while. β
"It seems that the Goddess is watching over you. Erin Field's toes gently dropped on the couch next to Pedi and sat down, "According to the literature, the baptism of the Paladins is different, and some people will feel that they have been tortured for a hundred years in the depths of the seven layers of hell!" She looked at Pedi, her fingers lightly touching the air, "I feel that your thoughts are very confused, are you doubting your faith?"
"There was a moment of return, but now I'm fine!" Peddy smiled confidently.
Erin Fei'er smiled faintly, "Okay..."A purple light flashed as she stood up, and the person instantly moved to the side of the office door, "I have to go back and rest for a while, I consumed too much mental energy just now." β
"Wait," Pedi called out to her, "thank you, Erin Phier. β
"Is that how you thank girls?" said Eileen Field, smiling and pushing the door open.
