Chapter 7: The PK of Hope, Faith, and Virtue

With the continuous deepening of reform and opening up, the conditions of clothing, food, housing, and transportation of the masses have gradually improved.

"Three years of the new, three years of the old, another three years of sewing and mending", "one meal of hunger, one meal of fullness, half hunger and half a full meal", the arduous dress and eating habits have quietly passed away in the course of social development, and the good days of "eating enough and dressing warmly" have made people's socialist feelings even stronger. The housing conditions of thatched huts, thatched huts, and adobe houses were gradually replaced by brick houses. The travel history and communication history of "traffic basically depends on walking, and communication basically depends on roaring" are also gradually moving away in the pulse of the times.

Time can dilute everything, and it is. After the trials and tribulations of time, my mother gradually got used to this kind of life.

Although the sense of security is close to a negative number, the sense of identity and belonging to this "home" has gradually increased through the life of "firewood, rice, oil, salt, sauce, vinegar and tea". Since you can't change the environment, make some changes and plans within your power to make your life more enjoyable.

On this day, my mother paid her salary, and she was in a very good mood, so she went to the grain station to buy rice, noodles, and oil for daily life as usual, and by the way, she bought an additional aluminum basin with a diameter of about 30 cm in the store department, and then rushed to carry the rice, noodles, and oil on the bicycle and pushed it home with difficulty.

At that time, I couldn't afford to eat white noodles, so of course I only bought the cheapest noodles to eat.

Because the hero is lazy to eat, all the heavy work at home is carried by the mother, in her words: "There must be someone at home who worries and works." So I accommodated for a lifetime, worked for a lifetime, and suffered for a lifetime.

After carrying rice, flour and oil home, my mother sat on a stool, looking at the "small furniture" that she had bought for herself through hard work, and couldn't wait to use it to serve vegetables, wash vegetables and cook.

"That's how hard I use my own things!", my mother was a little "little excited", and planned her own little day while cooking: "Buy a pot with this month's salary, and buy some new dishes and chopsticks with next month's salary, and buy a pot next month, so that you don't have to cook and borrow a pot from the landlord." She thought about it beautifully, the more she thought about it, the more excited she became, the happier she became, and she even laughed out loud.

“...... In a few years, you can buy a piece of land and build a big tile house of your own, so you don't have to rent a house, and you can save a lot of money...... Buy another black and white TV...... Hehe, hey, I'll be happy to talk to him when that stunned boy comes back. ”

With such hope and motivation, it seems that the whole person is relaxed all of a sudden, and the fatigue of the day of work is swept away in an instant, and the body is full of energy.

This is the power of hope, that is, the desire and desire for good things, and through one's own hard work, let oneself gain ownership of good things.

The hero is different, he has no hope, to be precise, no plans and ideas for the future. Some people will say that everyone has hope, at least for a house, a car, and even money.

Of course, I in no way deny that.

People are social beings, and as long as they survive in society, they must have the material living conditions necessary for social attributes, and heroes are also not gods.

But for him, the so-called hope and pursuit of material things is his religious beliefs. Perhaps influenced by his family, Daxia is a faithful Catholic.

The hero's belief in Catholicism borders on paranoia, which seems to me to be a mistake.

In the hero's view, as long as he has absolute faith in Jesus Christ and absolute agreement with the doctrine, he can get everything he wants for nothing, and he always believes that pie will fall from the sky after all. I believe that one day, God will reward him for his loyalty and make him a millionaire. He believed that God was omnipotent and could help him to fulfill all his desires. Moreover, he also brought this set of fallacies to me.

When I was in elementary school, the hero took me to the Catholic church to pray for blessings almost every weekend, let me convey my hope to God through the priest, took me to kneel in front of the priest, kissed the priest's ring, and taught me word by word: "May the Lord Almighty bless, let me study hard and come out on top in the exam...... Thank you, Lord, for your blessing. Then he knelt down.

Hehe, fortunately I didn't understand anything at the time.

Can a hero who believes in religion with such an idea get what he wants?

Of course, I don't mean to belittle or denigrate religion here, because I've also been exposed to religion. To be honest, I am not exclusive, and even full of infinite respect for them.

To be clear, I'm not religious. But all the religions I know are full of positivity, positive energy, and it has a binding force and cohesion that no country can ignore. For example, some countries in Central Asia and West Asia that believe in Islam, some countries in Europe and the United States that believe in Christianity, and some countries in East Asia that believe in Buddhism. Even individual countries can be represented by religion.

I have been to Mount Wutai, Manjushri Bodhisattva Dojo, Wuye Temple, Dailuo Peak, Bodhisattva Hall...... I was also fortunate to participate in the "fire offering" ceremony under the auspices of the abbot of Wuye Temple, and I also listened to the lecture of the abbot of Changqing, and personally experienced the large-scale scene experience drama "See Wutai Mountain Again" directed by director Wang Chaoge.

What I felt most deeply was not only the profundity, grandeur and solemnity of Buddhist culture, but also the cause and effect of good and evil, the practice method, and the understanding of the truth of life and the universe in Buddhist culture.

It's too deep not to mention, it's too much to talk about the class to get an axe. But to say something I know and understand.

In Buddhism, the practice of great goodness, kindness to others, and virtue is what we often call harmony, friendliness, and civilization in the core values of socialism. In the "Upasai Precepts Sutra • Karma", "When encountering good knowledge, cultivating the Tao, cultivating the body, cultivating the precepts, and cultivating the mind, this is the truth." ”

"Where there is a cause, there must be an effect, and if there is an effect, there must be a cause, and it is impossible to do charity", and "In the realm of cause and effect, those who want to know the cause of the past can see its present effect." Those who foresee future consequences see their present causes. "They all tell us that there must be a cause and an effect. As long as we are positive and work hard, although we may not be able to achieve our goals, we always get an opportunity to achieve a certain goal, which is cause and effect.

"Killing people to pay for their lives, and repaying debts" is cause and effect, and it is evil effect. "Plant melons and get melons, plant beans and get beans" is cause and effect, good results.

In the "Thirty-Seven Paths", expressions such as "four mindfulness, four righteousness, four divine feet, five roots, five forces, seven jue branches, and the eightfold path" are to promote diligence and harmony, friendliness, integrity, eliminate evil thoughts, eliminate doubts, distinguish between true and false, good and evil, face life and death with a correct attitude and upward attitude, be content and happy, and so on.

Etcetera. What sutra book doesn't explain to us positive values, outlook on life and worldview?

Another example is Christianity.

The Ten Commandments admonish, "Thou shalt not murder, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not deceive, thou shalt not trap, and thou shalt not covet another's wife or possessions." Honor your parents and love ......your children. In "Faith in Original Sin and Faith in Redemption", "Atonement for sins with one's own kindness, do more good, forbid evil, and save all mankind ......"

In the Islamic Qur'an, "Good deeds and public welfare are the basic doctrines, and believers are required to refrain from evil and promote good." "These are full of positive energy and worth pondering.

This is the misdirection, deviation and bigotry of the hero's religious beliefs.

Straight to the point.

When his mother was immersed in her own little world while cooking, it happened that the hero came back from chanting in the Catholic church.

skillfully lit a cigarette, sandwiched it between the fingers of his right hand, took off his shoes, sat cross-legged on the kang and swallowed the clouds, "admiring" his mother's busy appearance on the edge of the pot.

The mother happily said to the hero, "Look, I bought an aluminum basin." She happily showed her "trophies" to the hero, as if the child had received a certificate of award, and couldn't wait to get the affirmation and recognition of his parents, and longed for praise.

Daxia frowned, his originally serious face was instantly covered with frost, and he roared loudly: "What's the use of you buying it? This month's salary, is the money burning? Did you buy this month's rice and flour oil?"

At this time, all hopes, beliefs, are completely defeated by virtue.
