Chapter 14: Transfiguration Lesson II
"Ahh......h Is this what you become?"
Link heard the sound and found John looking at him incredulously, and at the same time, on the table in front of him, there was a strangely shaped, abstract stone apple.
"That's right. β
Link admitted it directly, and this made John's mouth open in surprise.
"When did your Transfiguration get so good?
The muscles on Link's face twitched violently, and if it weren't for some contact with John, Link would have thought that the other party was mocking him.
After a slight pause, Link was about to respond to John, but saw that the other party's face suddenly became extremely pale, and even his body began to tremble slightly.
Link immediately realized something, and when he looked up, he saw that Professor McGonagall had arrived in front of them at some point.
Professor McGonagall glanced at Link and John's work, then sighed and asked:
"Is there anything you two don't understand?"
"I didn't ...... No...... Professor McGonagall. β
John shuddered, his head almost buried under the table.
Link, on the other hand, was much more generous, and he stood up directly and asked in a earnest tone:
"Professor McGonagall, for some reason, I can't change the nature of an object. Obviously, I followed the steps in the book exactly, and I was very puzzled by this. β
Professor McGonagall gave Link an appreciative look, then picked up Link's stone apple and looked at it for a moment before saying:
"The key to Transfiguration is to build a mental model of what you want to change, and the more complete that model is, the higher the success rate of Transfiguration you cast.
You're very good at changing shapes, which means you have a lot of imagination and model-building skills, and the reason why you can't turn a stone into a real apple is that I think the problem is your imagination of the nature of the object. In other words, are you so entangled in the shape of this apple that you lose sight of its inner essence?
Close your eyes and think about it, now you have a real apple in front of you, it is crisp and rich in moisture, the flesh is white with a hint of orange, and the rich fruity aroma will come to you when you bite into it......"
As Professor McGonagall spoke, Link slowly closed his eyes, and then gradually perfected the model of the so-called apple in his mind.
When Link felt that it was almost there, he opened his eyes and raised his wand to aim at the stone apple again.
"Goo!"
A strange sound suddenly sounded, and then under the gaze of everyone, a bright red color quietly climbed up the stone apple in front of Link, and gradually spread to every corner of the apple.
John beside Link was already speechless, and Professor McGonagall picked up the apple directly, pinched the hollow with his thumbs and broke it hard, and the apple turned into two halves with great ease, revealing the alluring flesh inside.
McGonagall smiled and nodded, and said to Link:
"Well done, Link. Hufflepuff +10!"
As soon as Professor McGonagall said this, all eyes in the classroom were focused on Link.
Link himself didn't really care much about this bonus because, as I had said before, the so-called bonus didn't really mean much to Hufflepuff House.
And he now has an even more important thing to focus on.
Transfiguration Lv1 Acquiredγ
"Whew!"
Looking at this information, Link exhaled a deep breath of turbidity, and finally had joy on his face.
Compared to the extra points, it is obvious that Transfiguration has finally obtained a level that is more exciting.
Without much hesitation, Link continued to raise his wand and aim at John's stone beside him.
"Goo!"
As in the previous scene, the stone apple in front of John quickly swelled and became more vivid.
A message flashed on Link's retina on time.
Transfiguration XP +1
Seeing this, Link nodded in satisfaction, but soon, his expression became glazed.
Because he found that while Transfiguration did gain experience, Transfiguration's overall experience bar had only risen by a small point!
And the increase in this experience bar happens to be about the same as the increase of the full spell lv3 to lv4.
This means that it takes 100 XP to upgrade Transfiguration from Lv1 to Lv2?
Link was stunned.
You must know that the energy and magic required to cast Transfiguration is more than ten times that of the Refill Spell, and according to this efficiency, if you just cast the Enchantment, even if Link doesn't dare to do anything all day long, it will take a month to upgrade Transfiguration to lv2!
For a moment, Link's expression became a little bitter.
Because he had a hunch that some of the other advanced spells might be thicker in the future, which was not good news for him.
At the same time, Professor McGonagall also watched Link's behavior.
She nodded slightly, and said with a rare obvious smile on her face:
"Good job, Link, looks like you've worked a lot this school year. However, you have left behind a lot of homework and still need to work hard. β
Professor McGonagall hesitated, but finally continued:
"Well, if there's something you don't understand about Transfiguration, you can come to me. β
Hearing this, Link's originally dim eyes immediately brightened, and he hurriedly thanked:
"Thank you, Professor McGonagall!"
"No thanks, you can do more. β
Professor McGonagall shook it down, then turned and went somewhere else.
Most of the Hufflepuffs didn't finish their coursework, and she needed mentoring the others.
At this time, Link was still in the excitement.
Professor McGonagall had just agreed to answer his questions during non-class hours, which would undoubtedly have a significant impact on his Transfiguration progress.
It also means a lot of Transfiguration experience!
Suddenly, the depression in Link's heart vanished.
He smiled and sat back in his seat, only to see that the Slytherins were staring at him as well.
He instinctively turned his head to look at it, and saw that most of the Slytherins were unhappy, and even Emily Victoria, who was surrounded by her, gave him an incredulous look at the moment.
Link understood it when he thought about it.
The other party must be the same as the previous Ravenclaws, and they are not happy to see him score.
This is normal, after all, Emily Victoria was the first to complete the perfect transformation and was only added by ten points, which is obviously a bit unfair compared to Link.
And this is likely to make Link hated by the other side.
It's just that Link didn't take it to heart.
Because although Cedric and the others both said that Emily Victoria was terrible, in Link's opinion, the other party still belonged to the category of students.
Since you are a student, you have to be restricted by the rules of Hogwarts, and even if you start, you can't take it too hard.
Besides, he Link is not easy to mess with.
Thinking so, instead of bowing his head like the other Hufflepuffs, Link met Emily Victoria's gaze and met her.
Then something strange happened, and Link clearly saw that Emily's face was like the stone he had cast a transfiguration spell on it, and in an instant, a red glow floated.
Immediately afterward, the other party jerked his head away, avoiding Link's gaze.
