475. Who am I?
Nelly stared at the monster's footprints for half a minute.
"Well, it's hunting time......
She looked firmly ahead, then clenched Motawi's axe,
In this strange and familiar place, only the axe in her hand felt real, and everything else was at the junction of dreams and clarity.
But she doesn't care about the so-called reality at the moment, and sometimes, the unreal is not necessarily not worth the obsession of people.
The sky, like the world itself, is at the transition of day and night, the sun has quietly returned to the other side of the planet, and the night is beginning to take over the sky and the earth.
Monster infested.
There was a strange rustling sound in the woods, sounding like a swarm of predators skimming through the trees and blueberry bushes on either side.
But today hunters are not them.
Nelly followed the footprints, and as she advanced, the mud marks on the ground became clearer, and the monster mixed with her father's footprints made it difficult for her to tell which footprints belonged to whom.
The road is at its end.
The plants on either side slowly spread down the path, roots and shrubs blocking Nelly's direction.
It didn't fit her memory, the town's path was often passing, and it was impossible to be overwhelmed by weeds and plants.
And most importantly, the footprints have not disappeared.
She lifted the axe.
Chop.
Axe after axe.
Thorns and branches are broken.
She moved on.
Nothing could stop her.
She stepped over bulging thick roots and low shrubs and made her way through the forest.
Nelly numbly raised her hand again and again, carving out a path of her own with Motavi's axe.
Before she knew it, a small black dot appeared in her field of vision.
She instinctively quickened her pace, not caring even if her pants were torn one by one.
Nelly rushed towards the back.
It was an old man with a straight back.
Ogdon Lester.
The man held a large-caliber shotgun with a length of one meter and two, and a short sword in a leather suit on his left waist, and he looked into the forest in front of him, without any intention of turning his head.
As she approached her father, Nelly subconsciously slowed down again.
She gently came up behind her father.
Ogden pointed ahead:
"Where did the prey go, do you still have the stamina?"
Nelly replied in a whisper:
"Hmm. ”
Ogden reached into the leather bag behind his back, took out a short-barreled shotgun, and handed it to Nelly behind him with his backhand:
"Take it and use it to protect yourself when you need it. ”
Although she already had Motawi's axe in her hand, Nelle let go of her hand and let Motawi disappear, resulting in the short-barreled shotgun that the man handed over.
She asked cautiously:
"Where is it?"
Ogden says:
"It should be not far ahead, it can't run far. ”
nelly says:
"What am I going to do?"
Ogden chuckled:
"If you see it, just let me know, and I'll let you try shooting the next time we hunt some harmless little game."
"For today, leave everything to me. ”
Ogden leaned down and walked slowly:
"Follow me. ”
Nelly blinked.
At some point, the shrubs that held back him were gone, and the ground was flat in front of him, with only loose weeds on the ground.
She followed her father.
Ogden says:
"Our prey is one of the most dangerous creatures in the world, they are cunning, insidious, evil in nature, and if we don't hunt them, then the world will be destroyed. ”
Nelly wondered:
"What are they?"
Ogden replied succinctly:
"Monsters. ”
Suddenly, a shadow flashed through Nelly's vision.
She glanced at Ogden, and her father didn't seem to notice the shadow.
Ogden was still looking ahead.
Nelly hesitated for a moment before she slowly spoke:
"I just saw what looks like there's a dark shadow over there. ”
Ogden nodded, then turned in the direction Nelly had pointed out, moving quickly through the forest.
Nelly hurriedly followed, but she was surprised to find that she had to run almost as hard as she could see the man's back.
Nelly stumbled.
By the time she regained her footing, her father's back was gone.
Bang!
Gunshots rang out in the sky.
She rushed forward in a panic.
The hunter was standing in front of a corpse, gently wiping his shotgun, proudly declaring his victory.
Lying on the ground was a man.
She saw it clearly.
It's another Ogden.
Nelly asked with a trembling voice:
"What the hell are you?"
The hunter turned, revealing pale cheeks with no facial features:
"I'm your father, Nelly, what's wrong?"
Nelly's voice trembled even more violently, but not out of fear.
It's angry.
"I'm asking you, what the hell are you? I'm not talking about shapeshifters, fathers or anything like that, I'm asking about your nature, how the hell did you come to my mind?"
The faceless man uttered a deep male voice:
"What am I? Don't you know? You created me, you raised me, you shaped me, and now you ask me what I am?
"I'm a shapeshifter, I'm a hunter, I'm your father, I'm Marlene, I'm Raven, I'm Snee......"
"I'm you. ”
