033 Long-haul flight assessment
Long-haul flight assessment [Japanese: long-distance flight test, Chyoukyori_Hikou_Shiken, English: Long-distance_Flight_Examination]
[Where you spread your wings and take off.] 】

For trainers with Pokémon, riding a Pokémon with the ability to fly is quick and easy to get around, saving time, and many trainers prefer this way of moving. However, flying on a Pokémon is a high risk, and there are frequent accidents in which trainers fall and even die.
Therefore, about a hundred years ago, the alliance introduced a new law: citizens were allowed to ride Pokémon with the ability to fly for short-range movements of up to 30km, but the flight altitude was limited to less than 50 meters and the speed was limited to 60km/h. And if you want to take a long-distance flight in a Pokémon, such as through a forest, between cities, or over the ocean, you need to go through a professional assessment - that is, the "long-haul flight test".
The long-haul flight assessment is divided into two subjects, theory and flying. There are similarities between the assessment method and the motor vehicle driver's license test.
The theory class requires memorizing knowledge related to long-distance flights, such as changes in altitude and air pressure, the location of the Pokémon habitat of the offensive flight system, and how to deal with air battles. The assessment method is a written test, with a full score of 100, and a score of 80 or more is passed.
The assessment content of the flight lesson is practical operation. There are two types of flying lessons, the first of which is the basic flying skills assessment. Trainers and partner Pokémon need to wear riding gear and complete the required basic actions such as takeoff, acceleration and deceleration, sharp turns, rapid ascent/descent, Z-shaped flight, mid-air flips, obstacle avoidance, and fixed-point landing, with a score of 50 points. Most of this assessment has no environmental interference factors. The second is the flight practice assessment, where the trainer and the instructor fly 30km in the field, and need to deal with the air currents in the wild, wild Pokémon groups, and so on. The full score is also 50 points, and the coach will judge the student's score.
The two items are summed up to get the final score for the flying lesson. Flying lessons are also 80 points to pass.
You must use your own Pokémon in training and assessments.
After passing both subjects, students can obtain a "long-haul flight license". Trainers with a pilot license are not limited by flight altitude, speed and distance, and can fly as much as they want.
Students who fail the exam can register for the exam again after three days. The exam fee is 1500 PD per exam.
Many couriers in the courier industry need to pass an exam to obtain a pilot license after choosing an air delivery job.
Trainers must carry an identity document, such as an ID card or Pokémon book, on a long-haul flight, and may encounter random checks by the air police during the flight. Violations such as flying without a license, flying in prohibited areas, speeding and other violations are captured by the radar scans of the Pokémon Alliance's global positioning system "Skynet" and recorded. In addition, air police officers who maintain order in the air can also play a supervisory role in taking care of the natural environment and maintaining order in the field. Once the illegal flight is detected, the trainer will be fined and detained in accordance with the law.
All major cities have officially certified long-distance flight training bases and test centers, and some of the larger training bases are also test centers.
There are instructors who are responsible for teaching flying knowledge and skills at the training base, and you can receive a one-week flight training after signing up, and the registration fee is 3000pd.
In order to register for the long-haul flight assessment, you must have at least one week of training experience at the flight training base and obtain a certificate of completion.
The training base will teach trainers and Pokémon flying skills and coordination methods, mainly teaching the knowledge and skills required for the flight lesson test.
The relevant teaching materials of the theory course will be distributed before the start of the training, and most of them will be studied by the trainees themselves. It contains all the necessary knowledge for long-distance flights, such as the most suitable and safest flight altitude is less than 1,000 kilometers, and the long-distance flight speed is preferably no more than 220km/h, but the standards can be relaxed as appropriate in special circumstances such as air battles.
The specific teaching method of each training ground varies according to the habits of the coach, the geographical location of the training ground, and the difference in the surrounding environment.
The riding equipment required for the flight will be issued by the training base and will be collected after the training or test. These include cycling clothing, protective helmets, cycling shoes, safety devices (including small parachute bags, life jackets at sea, etc.), simple seats, cycling watches that display altitude, movement speed, air pressure, temperature, etc.
The special material of the cycling equipment makes it resistant to wind resistance, protects the trainer's body, and at the same time keeps warm. The cycling watch can be tied to a mobile phone and the recorded data can be displayed on the mobile phone. The safety device is usually attached to the back of the simple seat, is linked to the watch, and activates itself when an abnormal condition is detected.
It is said that the birthplace of the riding gear universal in the alliance is the Alola region. A wider range of cycling gear for land and sea can also be purchased in the Training Household Store.
According to the relevant traffic regulations, in order to ensure flight safety, trainers must use cycling equipment when flying long distances, so they need to purchase cycling equipment for personal use.
For trainers, the long-haul flight test is not only a way to get a license, but also a way to train your Pokémon's flying abilities. Only with the right knowledge and skills can you fly freely in the sky.
