Chapter Twenty-Four: Protecting the Magical Creature Teacher

On Sunday morning, Jon didn't wake up very early as usual.

He didn't leave the dormitory until around nine o'clock, when most of the new Hogwarts students had gotten out of bed.

I went to the dining room for some breakfast while I heard Draco Malfoy boasting about how he had taught a Gryffindor at the Slytherin table:

"I didn't even pull out my wand because I guessed that stupid Weasley wouldn't be able to hurt me. And sure enough, and guess what? He knocked himself down with a spell and spat out a lot of slugs, hahaha......"

With the exception of Gryffindor, the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students all looked at him with a look of disgust, but Malfoy was unaware.

Jon didn't stay in the dining room for long, and after breakfast, he returned to the Hufflepuff common room and picked up the glass cage containing two South African red spiders.

Walking out of the castle, a ghost floated in front of him, making him hurry to avoid it.

"Good morning, Jon!" the ghost greeted him kindly.

"Hello, monk!" Jon respectfully saluted the ghost of the fat friar, who returned the salute.

"I want to go to Professor Sprout's office......"

"So you're looking for Pomona, and her office is in a low cabin next to Greenhouse One...... Go ahead, I remember she would be in the office every Sunday!" said the Fat Friar, smiling.

"Thank you, monk. ”

The Fat Friar was arguably the friendliest ghost of all the houses, and in less than a week had begun the school year, Jon had already asked him for directions three times, and he had patiently and carefully pointed him in the direction each time.

......

Professor Sprout wasn't in her office, and Jon looked around a few nearby greenhouses and found her in the third.

She was wearing a pair of pink fluffy earmuffs on her head, trying to pull out a green and purple seedling in the greenhouse.

Jon hurriedly took a few steps back, then covered his ears.

Professor Sprout quickly disposed of the seedling and walked out of the greenhouse with a dragonskin glove.

"Jon?" Professor Sprout shouted in surprise as he took off his earmuffs.

"It's Mandrake, isn't that Professor?" Jon said with a smile, "I just plugged my ear!"

"Wise, or you'll be in a coma for hours. Professor Sprout smiled and gave him a thumbs up, "If it was in class, I would definitely give Hufflepuff extra points...... What's the matter?"

"That...... Professor...... It's my pet, it doesn't seem to be doing well lately!" Jon said, pulling out the glass cage containing the spider.

"Pets?" Professor Sprout shook his head, "I'm sorry...... But I'm a teacher who studies herbal medicine...... For questions about this, you should ask Professor Kettleburn, the teacher of the Conservation of Magical Creatures class. ”

"But, Professor, I'm a first-year student...... We don't have Professor Kettleburn's classes......" Jon said, slurring.

"So, you don't know Professor Kettleburn, do you?" Professor Sprout patted Jon on the shoulder, "Let's go, I'll take you to Sivanos now." ”

......

Professor Pomona-Sprout is arguably the kindest and best teacher at Hogwarts, especially for Hufflepuff students.

If it were another teacher, it would be impossible to take a first-year freshman on a trip for such a trivial matter.

Following in Professor Sprout's footsteps, he came to the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

Hagrid's hut is not visible in sight, so it should be on the other side of the Forbidden Forest.

A thatched hut sits on this side, and Professor Sprout raised her wand and knocked lightly on the door.

"What's the matter?" said an old voice, coming from inside the room.

"Sivanos, it's me...... I have a student who needs your help!" exclaimed Professor Sprout.

"Pomona...... Good morning, Pomona...... "A gray-haired old man limped out of the hut.

Jon suddenly realized why Hogwarts would be changing Hagrid to be the teacher of the Conservation of Magical Creatures class in another year...... The Professor Kettleburn was indeed very old, his beard and hair were gray, and one of his hands and one foot were wooden prostheses.

"Is that you?" Professor Kettleburn glanced Jon up and down, "Why does it look a little blind?"

"Professor, I'm a first-year Hufflepuff!" Jon quickly replied.

"First-year freshmen...... Hufflepuff ......" Professor Kettleburn's eyes softened, "Once upon a time, I was also a first-year Hufflepuff freshman...... More than 80 years have passed......"

"Sivanos, there's something wrong with Jon's pet, I want you to help him take a look!" Professor Sprout offered to help Jon explain the purpose of the trip.

"Okay...... That's fine!" Professor Kettleburn's gaze shifted to the glass cage Jon was holding in his arms.

"Two spiders, very ordinary spiders, you actually took them as pets...... I think you'll be good friends with Hagrid......" Professor Kettleburn muttered:

"Be careful, Pomona, there's a Grindy Low in the tank behind you, don't let him go!"

"And Mr. Hart, don't kick the teapot at your feet, there's a bird snake in there......"

"They're healthy and there are hardly any problems!" Professor Kettleburn said directly.

"But why do they keep banging on the cage in the hope of escaping...... It's been that way since last night, and they've never been so disobedient before. Jon had already organized the language and said unhurriedly.

"That's a problem...... Professor Kettleburn frowned, "I've never seen an ordinary spider so excited!"

"Could it be...... Fear?" Jon asked quietly.

"Fear?" Professor Kettleburn bent down and looked more closely, "It does look a bit like ......."

"But it can't be!" he said categorically.

"Why?" was Professor Sprout who questioned this time.

"There is only one extremely evil magical creature that can make spiders feel fear...... But that evil creature has been extinct in Britain for almost 400 years, and the Ministry of Magic strictly forbids it to enter the island of Britain, so it can't be around Hogwarts!" Professor Kettleburn said as he returned the cage to Jon.

"Maybe you didn't feed them, Mr. Hart...... I'll prescribe you a little Valium potion and you feed them to try it!"
